Major Love Trends for 2020: Aquarius Love Horoscope

Aquarius continues to focus on personal development this year. While it’s been a long process, 2020 brings a ton of help as well as a light at the end of the tunnel!

You continue to build your inner confidence with a strong focus on your solar twelfth house — the sector of your solar chart that rules endings, processing, secrets, undoing, and closure. As two of these planets move out of this sector of your chart in 2020, you’ll find yourself more psychically ready to share this confidence with others. Mind you, one of these planets is Saturn, and Saturn emerging in your chart doesn’t quite have the same energy as most other planets. This transit will be about making corrections and simplifications in your life so that you can feel more organized, mature, and on top of things. The other is Jupiter, however, emerging in your chart and moving into your sign on December 19th.

Until then, if you feel that you’re frequently in the shadows, it may be a necessary thing. It’s a good idea to take the time to sort out what may be holding you back. This can point to a period for clearing up elements of the past that are getting in the way of your present and your future. Putting an end to situations that have involved too much sacrifice or too little benefit to you can figure strongly now.

Uranus, your modern ruler, forms aspects to inner planets as usual, but is not a big player with the outer planets in 2020, which is a real change from recent years. You can feel less harried, pushed, and prodded.

Jupiter in your sign from December 2020 forward is an excellent influence for visibility and a feeling of being connected. For you, it’s also a strong influence for making friends and enjoying friendships or socializing. This Jupiter transit (of your sign) occurs only once every 12 years or so, and it lasts for approximately a year. The last time it happened was in 2009. This time around, Jupiter moves through your sign while Saturn is also in your sign, so it’s a little different–a bit more serious and mature, which can moderate things. Although it may not feel quite as joyful as previous Jupiter transits (if indeed Jupiter affects you this way), a better feeling of balance is within reach.

Mercury’s retrograde periods can bring some minor hiccups to your love life. In 2020, Mercury is retrograde from February 16 to March 9 (in Pisces and, for a little bit at the end of the cycle, in your sign), June 18 to July 12 (in Cancer), and then October 13 to November 3 (in Scorpio and Libra). Some indecision is likely, especially from March 4-9. If a lover is distant during these periods, give them some space and don’t pressure. You’ll manage these periods best if you slow down.

Venus retrogrades this year in your romance sector from May 13-June 25, 2020. This cycle affects us all of us in general, mainly in the areas of love and finances. These matters are not straightforward during this period, and it is a time for reviewing our attitudes rather than forging ahead boldly into new love relationships or financial projects. Because this Venus retrograde cycle occurs in your romance sector, watch for evasiveness or stalling in your love life at that time. Remember that if anyone is distant, it’s likely because they need a bit of time and space to figure things out. Your romantic life may hit a period of lull or retrospection.

Some things seem to go on hold at this time, and they’re likely related to entertainment, dating, romance, creativity, hobbies, or children. Some areas may lose the pleasure factor for the time being, and you or someone in your life can be rethinking a matter. It’s time to backtrack a little. You may feel in limbo, but you can also turn to the past and reanimate something that you once left behind.

The year 2020 also holds a Mars retrograde cycle! It’s a complicated year. This one occurs in your communications sector (and rules this area of your solar chart, too). It’s generally not the best time to start a new love affair since desires can be hard to read, both for yourself and others.

There aren’t many love-specific headlines for you this year, but there is a set of eclipses beginning in 2020 that suggests some rumblings in your dating world or with friendships.

New this year is a series of eclipses occurring in your romance and friendship sectors. Something is stirring within you–a feeling of unrest or dissatisfaction with your level of enjoyment in life–and this inner discontent demands a few changes. Passion and intensity in affairs of the heart can run rampant and enthusiasm overflows, particularly around the Lunar eclipse in November.

With the North Node moving through your amusement/creativity and romance sector starting in May/June (through most of 2021, too), you can benefit greatly from expressing yourself more playfully and uniquely. Don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd now! Eclipses challenge you to express yourself more creatively and openly. Friendships, group associations, creativity, and romantic involvements are evolving in important ways. New group associations may be made, friendships can expand, and you are challenged to find a balance between your romantic life and your connections with friends, particularly around the eclipses in June, November, and December.

Key Periods in 2020

When the ruler of your partnership sector travels through your own sign, a partner or potential partner is seeing you in an especially positive light, and tends to have your interests and needs as a priority. This occurs from January 20-February 18.

When Eros is moving through your sign, you can be more ardent in your pursuit of romance. This occurs from January 4-February 23.

March 30-May 12, 2020, is a strong period for going after exactly what (or who) you want. It’s a high energy period. You’re oozing sexuality now, and others are most turned on by your leadership qualities, particularly around mid-April when Mercury, Venus, and Mars (in your sign) are connecting.

From April 3-August 7, romantic relationships can pick up speed with Venus in your romance sector, but they can also stall while Venus is retrograde from mid-May to the end of June. Past loves may reappear, possibly in the flesh, or you could be a little hung up on them emotionally. This is a time for taking things slowly. Interesting to note: Venus is retrograde in your romance sector this year, and while Venus rules love in general (among other things), it’s a stronger influence directly on your romantic life this time around.

When Eros moves through your romance sector from July 6-August 11, your erotic impulses (as well as powers of attraction) run high. During most of this period, Venus is working its magic through your romance sector, no longer retrograde, and clearing up problems, which is helpful. As well, from July 22-August 21, partnering is likely to be satisfying.

From September 6-October 2, a partnership is warm, loving, and especially pleasurable. This helps with the Mars retrograde cycle that occurs from September 9-November 13–a time when we may be taking a second look at our desires, sexual fulfillment, and satisfaction.
