Moon Aquarius-Moon Aries
Aries’s emotions tend to be hot and fiery, while Aquarius is cooler, more detached, impersonal and fair. When something provokes Aries’s impatience or anger, Aquarius can be infuriatingly logical and reasonable. Both of you are active and independent and insist upon having the freedom to pursue your personal interests and desires outside of your relationship. You allow one another to be separate individuals, as well as being part of the couple. Aries is sometimes domineering, but Aquarius demands equality and will not accept being dominated. Both of you resist authority.
Also, both of you have a craving for newness and a willingness to let go of the old and the past in order to embrace a new opportunity or to follow your direction regardless of tradition or convention.
Though similar in temperament, you may not always get along because neither of you compromise very readily.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Taurus
Both of you are stubborn and fixed in your ways and your spontaneous impulses and emotional requirements are frequently at odds with one another. Taurus wants serenity, tranquility, and stability in the personal and domestic sphere. Very much a creature of habit, Taurus does not adjust quickly to changes in routine, home life, or personal relationships. The old-fashioned, tried-and-true ways often suit Taurus just fine.
Aquarius, on the other hand, craves excitement, social life, and mental stimulation, and has a strong impulse to experiment with new ways of doing things. Aquarius is indifferent to custom and convention at best, downright rebellious toward authority and tradition at worst. Many of your disagreements revolve around the theme of maintaining the status quo (Taurus) versus change (Aquarius).
Aquarius rocks the boat – and Taurus may not like it a bit! Also, Taurus is somewhat possessive about loved ones, and Aquarius has a powerful need to be a free, independent individual, whether committed to a relationship or not.
Furthermore, Aquarius is very ideological an often quite attached to opinions and beliefs that, in Taurus’s eyes, defy common sense or the natural wisdom of the body and instincts. Taurus can help Aquarius become more attuned to nature, sensuality, or the feminine side of life, instead of living only in Ideas.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Gemini
It’s not enough for either of you to like or love someone -you need an agreement or rapport on the mental level as well. Intellectual stimulation and companionship, someone to share ideas, discoveries, and conversation with, are very important to both of you.
Emotionally you are both light, airy, objective, and sometimes detached. The two of you can truly become friends in addition to your romantic attachment, and you are likely to talk about and analyze your emotions with one another. You understand each other’s attitude towards family, and you feel very comfortable with each other in an informal setting, simply because the personality traits you each project most when you are with family or at home are very similar to your partner’s.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Cancer
Both of you have a strong concern for people, but while Cancer is very personal and responds mostly to family or to people in the immediate environment, Aquarius has broader concerns, more universal sympathies, and an interest in human welfare in general. Aquarius often puts friends, social concerns or causes, or involvement in the world at large ahead of family loyalties, while Cancer isn’t inclined that way at all and may feel neglected and hurt by Aquarius’s attitude.
The two of you are quite different in other respects also. Cancer is sentimental and emotionally attached to the past, to familiar places and people, and to the safety, security, and comfort of the known. Aquarius, on the other hand, craves newness and excitement, and is rebellious or at least indifferent to convention and the traditions of the past. Aquarius is not averse to making radical changes in residence or lifestyle, while Cancer holds tightly to things as they are.
Also, Aquarius values personal freedom and needs to maintain a sense of individuality even in close relationships, while Cancer is very dependent on loved ones and may be made very anxious and insecure by Aquarius’s independence. Aquarius needs to be sensitive to Cancer’s feelings and attachments, and to recognize that change which is too rapid or sudden is very upsetting to Cancer.
Another difference between you is that Cancer is very emotional and subjective, while Aquarius is clear and objective, and frequently out of touch with emotions. Positively, Cancer can help Aquarius get in touch with deep feelings, sensitivities, and emotional needs that Aquarius has buried, and Aquarius can help Cancer get some more clarity and perspective on Cancer’s sometimes confusing or overwhelming feelings and moods.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Leo
Leo has an inner desire to be special and important, to shine and be the center of attention, to direct or lead rather than follow. Leo wants to stand out from the crowd in some way, and is generally not a team player. Aquarius, on the other hand, needs to be part of a group or community. The fellowship, the togetherness, and the group solidarity are very satisfying and meaningful to Aquarius, whether or not Aquarius is the focus of attention.
Leo wants to be in control and can be very authoritarian (in a magnanimous sort of way, as in a “benign dictatorship”), but Aquarius has a rather rebellious, freedom-loving nature and resists Authority. Though having no desire to be on top, Aquarius will not be compliant or domesticated either.
Also, Leo is loyal, intensely personal, and rather narcissistic, while Aquarius can be rather cool and impartially fair. Leo sometimes feels hurt by being treated “just like everyone else”!
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Virgo
A major difference in your temperaments is that Aquarius, deep down, is rebellious toward authority and rather indifferent to convention and tradition. Aquarius has a taste for excitement and needs to experiment and shake things up once in awhile. Virgo is more careful, and feels much more comfortable and safe following a secure, tried-and-true path. Virgo loves order, while Aquarius disrupts order so that something new can happen.
Also, Virgo is more introspective and serious about self-improvement than Aquarius, who is interested in social improvement, but is often out of touch with their own feelings and inner life.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Libra
Your relationship is apt to have a light, airy, friendly, and not overly emotional tone to it. Both of you are able to be somewhat detached and objective about your personal situation.
Sharing ideas, common interests, conversation, books, and intellectual pleasures are a satisfying aspect of your relationship.
You share ideas too, often about how people “should” relate to one another: fairness, equality, non-possessiveness, respect for each other’s individual differences and autonomy, and open communication on all subjects are likely to be among them.
The major difference between you is that Libra is much more personal and romantic, and is more inclined to need a partner in order to feel complete, while Aquarius is more independent and eschews too much emotional neediness and dependency.
Also, Aquarius has a rebellious streak and enjoys flouting convention at times, while Libra is very concerned with social acceptance, appropriate social behavior, and good manners.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Scorpio
Your emotional natures and needs are so different that there is likely to be quite a bit of dissonance or conflict between you, unless you both come to understand and accept one another. However, you are both quite fixed in your own ways and are not always receptive to changing unless it is on your own terms.
Scorpio needs intense closeness and emotional intimacy, and becomes fiercely attached to loved ones. Extreme possessiveness, jealousy, and an urge to manipulate and control loved ones are feelings Scorpio may contend with. Aquarius, on the other hand, is very independent, resists being possessed or controlled, and is much more mental than emotional.
Emotions are a powerful force in Scorpio’s life and Scorpio can become obsessed with a feeling or desire, while Aquarius is much more detached and often out of touch with feelings and emotions. Scorpio’s intensity may be met in a cool, dispassionate, highly rational way – or simply by a total lack of comprehension – by Aquarius.
Also, Scorpio is intensely private and personal, while Aquarius is very social and needs to participate in the world at large. Involvement in groups, associations, clubs, or community affairs is important to Aquarius. Aquarius’s interests are broad and Aquarius needs intellectual companionship and sharing on a mental or spiritual level, which is something Scorpio may or may not appreciate.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Sagittarius
You harmonize because your emotional needs and inner attitudes towards life are quite similar. Both of you are independent and you have a strong desire to experiment and experience the unknown or novel. Progressive and forward-looking, you both adjust easily to change, and in fact, seek it out, for you get restless in staid or relatively unchallenging circumstances.
Neither of you is especially domestic. Involvement in the world at large, or at least in a wide social circle, is important to you. Personal freedom and respect for your individual rights is essential to your happiness, and you can not tolerate being possessed.
Contemporary or unconventional styles and ideas appeal to both of you, and you have little use for “tradition for tradition’s sake”.
Both of you are idealistic, and Aquarius especially tends to be logical and identified with a particular belief system or philosophy. At times you both are (or probably have been) rather dogmatic. There is much camaraderie between you, but if your philosophies differ you are unlikely to be such good buddies.
Your relationship has a fairly light quality to it, and it may lack warmth, intimacy, or depth. Also, since neither of you wants to be home-bound, it is likely that no one keeps the home fires burning.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Capricorn
Your emotional needs and deeply ingrained attitudes are often at odds. Aquarius has a very independent nature, and resists being dictated to by Authority, society, convention, or custom. The urge to break from the past, embrace the new and different, and to change things is part of Aquarius’s makeup. Capricorn, on the other hand, cherishes tradition and is far more cautious about venturing into unknown territory or changing the standard, tried-and-true ways of doing things. Aquarius tends toward contemporary, progressive, or “alternative” ways of doing things. Capricorn is conservative and respects the time-honored, proven ways. Even if Capricorn is philosophically liberal, emotionally there is a very cautious, conservative element that is disinclined to take risks in either emotional or spiritual ways.
Also, Aquarius craves freedom and will never be completely domesticated or possessed, while Capricorn is very responsible, dedicated, and committed, and may not fully appreciate Aquarius’s free spirit.
Both of you can have difficulty letting your feelings and emotions flow. Aquarius intellectualizes rather than feels, and is often unaware of emotional needs (in self or others). Capricorn also represses emotions and is afraid of being vulnerable or dependent.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Aquarius
Both of you are very independent and do not want to be possessed or restricted by other people’s ideas of what you should do or be. There is a rebellious streak in both of you. Being part of something larger than yourself, a group or community of some sort, is very important and necessary to you. Neither of you is especially domestic – you need involvement in the world at large or at least a wide social circle.
You are both very idealistic about how people “should” behave towards one another, and you may have some difficulty accepting your own human reactions and emotions – anything that is less than completely fair, generous, and noble. You are frequently out of touch with what you are REALLY feeling, and you also may ignore, or be uncomfortable with, others’ feelings, needs, and emotional displays. Other people may perceive you as cool and detached.
Together you are likely to be very good friends, appreciative of one another’s ideals and visions, but the warm, personal, romantic element may be lacking.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aquarius-Moon Pisces
Your emotional rhythms and temperaments are rather different. Pisces is gentle, non-competitive, somewhat passive, and has a need to withdraw or “get away from it all” on a regular basis. Aquarius, on the other hand, needs involvement in the world and enjoys being in the flow of contemporary life.
More significantly, Pisces is very sensitive emotionally and psychically, and is a deeply feeling person, while Aquarius responds more rationally and intellectually to people and situations. Aquarius has strong humanitarian or idealistic impulses, but frequently lacks empathy in personal situations, whereas Pisces is so tender-hearted that others sometimes take advantage.
Aquarius is too cool, emotionally detached, and mental to suit Pisces sometimes. Aquarius needs intellectual stimulation and companionship, and is rather uncomfortable with excessive displays of feeling and Pisces’s emotionality in general. Also, Pisces is highly intuitive, whereas Aquarius needs scientific evidence or support of the things that Pisces takes on faith. Aquarius questions Pisces’s hunches and emotional or psychic impressions. However, Aquarius can also help Pisces get some distance and clarity about the emotional situations that Pisces gets so immersed in.
