Aries Love Horoscope for 2020

This year, there are not many direct long-term influences on your love life, dear Aries. This often means the year is status-quo–not a headline year for love, in other words. However, there are many shorter-term influences on your love and relationship sectors that deserve attention, and these are outlined in the monthly and daily horoscopes. In this column, we’re looking at the bigger, longer-term influences, and while they’re not direct ones, their indirect influences are well worth noting.

A Chiron influence on your sign is a healing one. Others look upon you with more respect, tolerance, and acceptance. You don’t feel the need to prove yourself, and that feels good. You have the chance to shine, largely because you are projecting yourself with self-respect and modesty at once. You are especially appealing and charming during this transit just by being yourself. Opportunities—both personal and professional—are likely to present themselves as a result. You are not looking for credit for what you do, which frees you up to get it anyhow! New friendships are likely to emerge this year–supportive ones.

As Chiron illuminates the wounds you have accumulated over the years with regards to your self-esteem, this may not be the most comfortable of transits at the outset, but you are given the chance to work on these issues and find ways to heal them. Openness to the process is crucial.

Venus’ retrograde in your mind sector from May 13 to June 25 can certainly pull past relationships into the forefront of your mind, and revived conversations about your love life can figure strongly. You might think back to May/June 2012 if relevant since a very similar Venus retrograde transit to this one occurred then. Recurring themes may emerge.

Those of you born later in the sign (from approximately April 15-20) are under the influence of a Saturn square to your Sun until December 2020. This is a rather weighty aspect, and you may be wearing an overly serious manner while it’s in effect, which of course can project outwards.

Eclipses this year are not impacting your love life directly. Mind you, since the Sun is the ruler of your romance sector and, effectively, the Sun is always involved with eclipses, eclipses do affect your romantic life more than they do for many other signs.

Saturn transitions out of your career sector and into your friendship sector in 2020. From December 2020, this transition is complete and Saturn transits your social sector until March 2023. There is generally a more serious approach to casual relationships with this influence. You are also more serious about your own ideals and causes, and tend to be drawn to people who are like-minded. For some of this Saturn transit of your social sector, Jupiter is there too! Starting in December 2020, this Jupiter transit generally brings new or improved friendships into our lives, which should be the case for you, but with Saturn also here, it’s not as light of a transit. It might point to business associations or long-term friendships.

Mars is in your sign for an extended stay, from June 27, 2020, to January 6, 2021! For the purpose of comparison, Mars typically transits a sign for about two months. This influence brings out your more assertive, go-getting, spontaneous, and possibly even volatile qualities. You are more direct, open, and sometimes impatient during this cycle. You want to have your way, and unacknowledged or buried desires now tend to rule. Mars is your planetary ruler–you understand it, and it understands you. As such, it usually works well in your sign.

The reason for the extended stay, however, is that it turns retrograde in your sign this year.

Mars, the planet of energy, anger, activity, and sexuality, begins to move “backwards” (retrograde) in your own sign from September 9-November 13. During this cycle, you could find that you are less confident about expressing yourself in adventurous ways. You may be second-guessing yourself, and this is a natural process as you reassess how you have been going about meeting life and reacting/acting. It’s a good time for refining these things. You could be a little tired and more accident-prone, so be sure to rest up. It’s time to rethink, revise, and reorganize your plans.

How you assert yourself and how you go about going after what you want out of life are up for review now. You are also examining the way anger has helped or impaired your life, and coming up with new ways to manage it. In the process, you can experience some real frustrations. The end result, ideally, is a much-improved you. Slowly but surely, from November 13th forward, you regain your confidence, finding that you believe in yourself for solider reasons than you did before. In a sense, energy levels can dip before they rise again, but when they rise, the reasons for rising are solid. On a sexual or desire level, there can be some things to sort out during this period from September 9-November 13. If you find yourself less interested or passionate about some things, consider this a process of self-discovery.

Key Periods in 2020:

Mars in your intimacy sector from November 19, 2019, to January 2, 2020, can act to really fire up your passions and intimate world. There may be some adjustments to make — problems in committed relationships revolving around sex and money can be aired now. Conflicts need to be faced head-on with Mars here.

February 7-March 4 finds Venus in your own sign. This is a time when the world seems to be speaking, or at least appreciating, your “love language”. Love is more easily attracted and current partners can be following your lead and especially “into” you. It’s a period ripe with opportunity for attracting others, for turning on the charm, and for receiving positive feedback from partners or love interests. Love seems to come to you without the need for your pursuing it. This year while Venus visits your sign, it doesn’t get the best support from other planets, but you’re still in good form for personal attraction during this date range.

When Eros is moving through your sign, you can be more ardent in your pursuit of romance. This occurs from April 12-May 26.

However, this occurs entirely while Mars, your ruler, is retrograde in your sign (Mars is retrograde in Aries from September 9-November 13), making desires and their fulfillment quite complicated.

Speaking of Mars retrograde, Mars is your planetary ruler, and is comfortable in your sign. This year, Mars spends longer than usual in your sign (from June 27, 2020, until January 6, 2021) due to a retrograde period from September 9-November 13.

There can be some sluggishness during the retrograde period from September 9-November 13.
