Love and Relationships in 2020
With Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in the practical sign of Capricorn much of the year, business matters make headlines in 2020, overshadowing love matters in a general sense. Although practical matters tend to dominate, we are in the position to take a more responsible–and less fanciful–approach to affairs of the heart.
Venus retrogrades in the sign of Gemini from May 13th to June 25th, bringing about a need to rethink or reassess our personal relationships. Past lovers may reappear and some relationships may end. Communication problems can be a hot topic. Old friends and lovers may re-appear, perhaps complicating current relationships. We are called upon to deal with relationship issues from the past. Events occur that seem fated or predestined. It can be a real challenge getting close to a lover during this period of time. Unorthodox, experimental, and non-intimate relationships may be favored just for now.
Those who have Gemini strong in their charts may be more introspective, distant, or hard to reach during this cycle. They may not be in a very favorable light just for the time being. It’s not the best period for entering into a new relationship, because our sensors when it comes to love are not up to par. Note that Venus retrograded in the sign of Gemini 8 years ago (from May 15 to June 27, 2012), and similar themes can emerge.
Mars retrograde in the sign of Aries from September 9-November 13 is not the best energy for our love relationships, at least in an immediate sense. Ultimately, we are learning how to better assert ourselves and our needs/wants, so whatever we do learn during that period can be used to strengthen our relationships. However, it can be a confusing time for those already experiencing uncertainty in their love lives, because it brings more confusion and mixed signals!
Saturn in Aquarius from March 21-July 1, 2020, and then from December 17, 2020-March 7, 2023 can bring tests to friendships, but these test their foundations, and those with weak foundations are challenged to strengthen them.
In December, Jupiter enters Aquarius, and a spirit of friendship and acceptance is brought to our love relationships, even our most intimate and passionate ones.
