Overview of 2025
We have several continuing and developing themes, but the year 2025’s astrology has unique features. Some highlights:
- Pluto is no longer straddling Capricorn and Aquarius in 2025–it’s now solidly in Aquarius.
- Saturn is transitioning into Aries although spends most of 2025 in Pisces.
- Neptune’s in the same boat: it spends most of the year in Pisces, but is transitioning into Aries.
- Uranus spends most of the year in Taurus, but it’s transitioning into Gemini.
- Jupiter continues its transit of Gemini until June 9th, when it moves into Cancer.
Saturn in Pisces
Saturn continues its travels through the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces, but in 2025, it’s on its way out, ending up in Aries. Note that Saturn first entered the sign of Pisces in March 2023, leaving Aquarius and not to return to the sign for another 27 years!
Saturn’s stay in Pisces will last until 2025/2026, but there’s some interim transitioning to Aries in 2025.
Saturn points to areas where we have some growing up to do, which means there can be some limits and rules to follow wherever we find this sober, realistic planet.
As such, while Saturn is in Pisces, there can be some frustrations in achieving practical goals until we learn to integrate our material and non-material values. There can certainly be times when we feel uncomfortable with big shows of feeling or vulnerability/weakness. But by not fully allowing ourselves these very human qualities, we limit ourselves.
While we will work hard or root for the underdog, we don’t feel comfortable feeling like we are one. We should watch for subtly conveying to others that we don’t need kindnesses, compliments, and support. During this cycle, we can be bothered by people who seem to play the victim, or on another level, are too “out there” with their spirituality.
Lacking some faith or trust in our intuition (or life itself), we can frequently feel vaguely fearful. In fact, it can feel more comfortable to offer tangible help and advice than emotional shows of support.
Saturn has something to teach us, no matter which sign it’s currently visiting. This time around, we would benefit by learning to recognize how we may limit ourselves and our experiences if we deny our connection to the more vulnerable, messy, or chaotic side of ourselves. It’s a step-by-step, slow-but-sure process.
There is some tendency to avoid scrutiny at all costs during this period, which can lead to missed opportunities. Even if we’re strong and resilient, we can sometimes doubt that we can cope. There is also a possibility of persistent or formidable enemies.
On the other hand, quietly working hard can be a real strength of this position.
We’re learning to allow ourselves to be creative and imaginative.
We’re also capable of considerable effort and hard work in support and service. It’s easier for us to put our egos aside in order to get things done.
We’ve had Neptune in Pisces for many years, and Saturn’s influence on Pisces-ruled areas in our charts has been considerably different. Neptune breaks down boundaries while Saturn erects them, for one. For another, Neptune seeks inspiration and boosts imagination, and Saturn wants us to pay attention to our practical priorities.
In essence, Saturn wants us to shape up, be mature, and cultivate self-reliance and self-discipline in these areas of life.
So, in areas where we’ve grown accustomed to meandering, dreaming, and taking many detours, we’re now challenged to define, draw lines, shape up, and pay attention to rules. It’ll take some adjustment! Ideally, we’ve already been working on this, coming into 2025 feeling better equipped.
Pluto has ended its transition from Capricorn to Aquarius, and is in Aquarius all year
Pluto transited Capricorn for many years, and it has finished its work in the sign. Note that Pluto re-entered Aquarius on November 19th, and it’s there to stay for a couple of decades.
While Pluto is in Aquarius, we take social structures and politics seriously and seek major reform in these areas. Unusual, intense, or dramatic happenings are possible with friends and networks.
During this long-term cycle, we will likely confront issues of control and power related to individuality, equality, friendships, and group associations.
We can be on a quest to distinguish ourselves for our progressiveness, scientific minds, ideals, humanitarianism, or unique qualities. It’s also a time when we seek to change and overhaul society through science, inventions, and the mind/ideas.
Babies born with Pluto in Aquarius will have these themes hard-wired into them!
Pluto is in Aquarius from March 23, 2023, to June 11, 2023, later from January 20, 2024, until September 1, 2024, and again from November 19, 2024, to March 8, 2043, at which point it will weave in and out of Aquarius and Pisces.
Why so many dates? Pluto is very slow-moving, and with retrograde (effective backward) activity, it advances only about 1-3 degrees per year, depending on the sign. While Pluto flirted with Aquarius in 2023 and 2024, it only consistently transited the sign since November 2024. In all, Pluto will spend between 19 and 20 years in Aquarius.
Jupiter and Saturn in 2025
So, areas of tension are where we find Aries, Aquarius, and Pisces in our charts. Capricorn has left the list and Aries is now on it.
On the other hand, we can look to the Gemini and Cancer parts of our charts for where we are expanding or improving in some significant manner in 2025. Read more about Jupiter in Gemini and Jupiter in Cancer.
With Aquarius and Pisces energy strong in the year 2024, we take a particular interest in what happens to society or the majority. Chiron and sometimes Saturn and Neptune in Aries along with Uranus in Taurus and Gemini and Jupiter in Gemini and Cancer, ensure special attention to the self, individuality, and family.
Jupiter is in Gemini
Jupiter continues in Gemini until June 9th, 2025 (since May 25th, 2024) and, all in all, has spent/spends a little over a year in this Mutable Air sign.
It’s a lively transit: During this period, we place strong emphasis and value on the intellect.
We see opportunities to grow and succeed through intellectual, verbal, and written channels.
Generally, we’re more inclined to believe that intelligence and knowledge are the primary keys to solving problems at this time. Communication and contact are especially valued–they’re hot commodities!
With Jupiter in Gemini, we attract the most good fortune when we put our wit and ingeniousness to full use and when we’re versatile, social, and curious, putting others at ease with friendliness and sincere curiosity.
We find our joy in connecting, learning, delivering, teaching, and facilitating.
The more difficult manifestations of this energy include lack of follow through, too many ideas without a plan to set them into motion, gossip, too much information, fickleness, ambivalence, and indecision. We may take on too many things and lose focus, for example.
Jupiter in Gemini finds joy in getting–and keeping–in touch. It’s a powerful time to improve our communication skills, and it’s an excellent period for upgrading the systems, machines, or devices that keep us mobile and connected–for example, phones, cars, bikes, computers, and so forth. New avenues or channels for communicating and transiting can open up.
In Gemini, Jupiter urges us to learn as much as we can about the people around us, as well as to learn, share, connect, and improve our everyday communications. See more details about this transit: Jupiter transits Gemini details: calendar page or the Jupiter in Gemini page.
Jupiter is in Cancer
Jupiter transits Cancer from June 9th, 2025 forward (until June 30th, 2026). All in all, it spends a little over a year in this Cardinal Water sign.
Jupiter in Cancer brings opportunities to grow and succeed through emotional channels, expanding our own foundations, and building our families. We are more inclined to believe that emotional intelligence is the major keys to solving problems. Connecting intimately is valued.
How can we best make the Jupiter-in-Cancer transit work for us? During this cycle, we attract the most good fortune when we are sympathetic, charitable, use our powers to save and accumulate, and comfort others. Real estate, child care, mother care, and the food industry can be prosperous avenues.
We place strong emphasis and value on the emotions and instincts to nurture. With a Water sign Jupiter, we have a strong belief in a higher power. We are most able to attract luck and rich life experiences through our intuition, imagination, and compassion. Helping those in need boosts our own morale.
Jupiter not only likes to expand, it likes to learn, so when Jupiter is paired with Cancer, we may be more interested in learning about our roots, exploring genealogy, learning about family traditions, and the like. We might value real estate, owning a home, expanding our home, and building a family. We might have more faith in our family, as its value increases in our eyes.
It’s a great time to connect with and repair relationships with family, loved ones, and roommates, honor needs for comfort, familiarity, and safety, and recognize the importance of intuition. We should avoid overdoing familiarity or use family or comfort as an excuse to avoid responsibilities to the outside world. We might also watch for over-pampering or coddling others and ourselves.
In Cancer, Jupiter motivates us to honor our intuition, emotions, families, and inner needs, and to build our support systems. See also Jupiter transits Cancer: calendar item.
Note that this Jupiter in Cancer transit helps to further release us from the struggles we may have had while Mars was retrograde in the sign of Cancer (from January 6th to February 23rd, although longer due to the shadow periods).
Saturn is moving into Aries
Saturn begins its transit of Aries in 2025, although it retreats into Pisces again. This transition from Pisces to Aries will be complete in 2026.
What are the dates for Saturn in Aries?
- Saturn is in Aries from May 24, 2025, to September 1, 2025,
- and then from February 13, 2026, to Apr 12, 2028.
While Saturn enters Aries on May 24th this year, it turns retrograde on July 13th and then returns to Pisces on September 1st.
But while Saturn only dips its toes in the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, in 2025 (it doesn’t quite but almost makes it to 2 degrees Aries), we’re introduced to this transit’s unique effects.
While Saturn is in Aries, we may initially experience frustration when pursuing our individual goals. We can feel uncomfortable with big shows of individuality or me-centered behavior. However, this period also presents a unique opportunity for personal growth, as is always the case with Saturn. As we learn to balance our individual needs with collective responsibilities, we can overcome this discomfort. By recognizing the necessity for this balanced attention, we can expand our potential for personal development. Otherwise, we might inadvertently limit ourselves.
In recent years, there has been much attention to the self. Aries energies have been revered and celebrated. Saturn in Aries aims to moderate this focus where it’s been excessive. We become more critical of this celebration, noting where a “me-first” attitude or “express your true self” at all costs has worked against us. Saturn in Aries cringes at excessive self-importance, in fact. However, it may go too far in that direction when the goal should be to correct where things have been immoderate or imbalanced and excessive. Ideally, we’re striving for healthy, balanced levels of self-sacrifice.
During this transit, we can be resourceful. It’s a prime time to evaluate our egoism and self-centeredness, identifying areas where we may assert ourselves to our own detriment. For instance, in our pursuit of ‘living our truth,’ we may inadvertently trample on others’ liberties. The Saturn in Aries transit empowers us to recognize and address these self-centered behaviors, putting us in control of our actions and their consequences.
It’s also a time for exploring our fear of being seen as less than strong or less than first place. These fears can limit our experiences as we might bow out of competition or avoid activities where we might appear less than competent. In truth, these experiences could be wonderful if we enjoy them for what they are rather than worry about the outcomes.
Health in 2025
Health issues in 2025 can more frequently have to do with poor circulation, rheumatism, and problems with calves, ankles, nerves, feet, the brain, head, and the mind. Breathing abnormalities may continue as a health theme this year. Psychological or mental inclinations that could contribute to health problems include erratic health routines/health care and a tendency to detach ourselves emotionally, perhaps too much. A lower-starch diet, breathing exercises, and special attention to air quality are appropriate.
With Saturn in Pisces, issues with the feet, the lymphatic system, psychosomatic illnesses, and health problems related to avoidance or neglect can be more prominent. Issues with the pineal gland, melatonin, and circadian rhythm imbalances can be notable. Other health problems connected to this transit include auto-immune disorders, poisoning, drug sensitivities/overdosing, chronic fatigue, and hard-to-diagnose disorders.
Saturn in Aries is just getting started this year, and it introduces a theme of constriction or decreased blood flow in the Aries-ruled head, such as those that cause hair thinning, headaches, migraines, and even vascular dementia and aneurysms. The sign of Aries rules our defense and attack impulses, and Saturn in Aries can indicate issues with adrenal exhaustion. We might benefit from activities that encourage blood flow to the head, including yoga.
While Jupiter is in Gemini until June, health matters we might see more of can relate to hands, arms, shoulders, lungs, tubes, connectors, capillaries, vessels, and sensory receptors. For example, Jupiter in Gemini, when challenged, can be associated with locomotor, blood, or cognitive disorders and stroke.
Jupiter, for example, can promote enlargements or produce benign cysts, but even if benign, can wreak a bit of havoc by pressing on other systems or creating imbalances, for example. Excess is also a potential problem with Jupiter, such that even consuming too much information, media, and the like with Jupiter in Gemini can lead to health issues. Gemini is associated with breathing, especially inspiration, and we might question whether some health concerns are to do with consuming too much air, as another example.
We might especially benefit from improving manual dexterity skills, breathing exercises, and developing our communication skills during this Jupiter cycle to enhance our health.
Note that we’re getting a sneak preview of Uranus in Gemini this year, and issues with this transit include spasms or kinking related to tubes in our bodies. Spasmodic issues are associated with Uranus, and hearing issues could be involved with Gemini in the picture.
Jupiter is in Cancer from June 2025 forward. Health issues with Jupiter are usually related to excesses, while Cancer issues are often connected to the stomach, chest, esophagus, mucous systems, feelings, and toxicity or holding onto things. Cancer is sensitive, accumulating stress, and Jupiter can magnify this. Water retention can be a problem. Toxicities in the home can be a topic.
Jupiter is associated with the liver, memory, and arterial blood flow. Jupiter transits can be protective but they can also enlarge or exaggerate functions. Health problems associated with Cancer under stress include digestive problems and disorders related to mucous membranes, which could come into prominence with Jupiter in Cancer. We might eat more when under stress, affecting our digestive systems.
It’s certainly possible that latent problems in these areas can magnify during this Jupiter transit. It’s also possible that solutions arise for these issues since Jupiter has healing, protective energy. Sometimes, it’s about magnifying a problem that has existed for some time enough that we’re pushed to solve it.
This can be an excellent time for special attention to developing the voice through voice training, for example, and to throat care or the throat chakra.
Focusing on warmth, nurture, and caring can be fortifying during this cycle. Embracing our need for self-care and nurturing others can be beneficial.
Uranus in Taurus & Gemini in 2025
Uranus in Taurus continues to shake up our attitude towards money and personal possessions, and it’s a time for bold innovations in these areas. We saw this energy in action in previous years, and more developments are expected in 2025 when Uranus transitions out of the sign and into Gemini.
We can expect changes to what we value on non-material levels as well, and we’re inclined to value ourselves in new ways through the course of this transit that lasts until April 2026.
However, in 2025, Uranus wets its toes in the sign of Gemini before going all-in starting in April 2026. From July 7th to November 7th, Uranus revolutionizes the ways we communicate, connect, learn, and teach.
In Gemini, Uranus stirs up our ideas, learning, and communications. It revolutionizes our transportation and communication systems and sense of connectedness. There can be great progress and unpredictability.
During this 7 to 8-year cycle, learning and education can be disrupted, dramatically changed, or non-traditional. It’s a time that demands adaptability and open-mindedness. Information bites rather than chunks can be prevalent, and our communication styles, especially the ways we extend gestures and pleasantries, can change dramatically. Ideas can spread very quickly and create dramatic change during this period. There can be more movement, migration, and busy-ness in general. Sudden changes in alliances can occur, along with disruptions in friend groups. Revolutions regarding air quality can be a much-needed revelation.
It can also be a time when we’re moving toward more gender neutrality, particularly in our communications. Fashion can become more non-gendered.
Our relationships with siblings and neighbors can undergo a change. In education, there can be more of a thrust toward inventiveness and creativity or intuition. Changes or advances in our experiences of short journeys can be remarkable.
Labor-saving devices and revolutionizing what and how we read, exchange and disseminate information, trade, transit, transport goods, surveil, track, and learn can continue to develop, surprise, disrupt, and advance. Uranus brings strong themes of curiosity and interest.
Staying open to change, being young at heart, and being flexible can be in vogue. It’s a period of significant changes in social discourse and the seeking of freedom in and through communications and education. We’re breaking through inhibitions or taboos related to sharing ideas, education, and communications. Using words to shock or rebel comes naturally.
We may lack follow-through, focus, and concentration. Nervous energy can also be extreme. It can be a time of liberation as well as disruption.
Uranus will be in Gemini more consistently later, from April 25, 2026, to August 3, 2032, and then from December 12, 2032, to May 22, 2033.
Uranus spends about 7-8 years in a sign. The range for Gemini is 2025 to 2033 with some transition periods between Taurus and Gemini and then Gemini and Cancer.
Neptune spends part of the year in Aries
Like Saturn, Neptune enters Aries in 2025 but later returns to Pisces.
When is Neptune in Aries in 2025?
- Neptune is in Aries from March 30, 2025, to October 22, 2025,
- and later from January 26, 2026, to May 21, 2038,
- and then October 21, 2038, to March 23, 2039.
As such, Neptune enters Aries for the first time this year on March 30th. Neptune turns retrograde on July 4th at at a little over 2 degrees of Aries, and then it returns to Pisces on October 22nd. Neptune will transit Aries consistently starting in January of 2026.
While Neptune is in Aries, we idealize independence, courage, bravery, freedom, and fresh starts. However, we may not see ourselves clearly, or we might struggle with defining ourselves and our boundaries during this period. We might also inflate our importance in times of insecurity, which can be quite detrimental. Presenting false images of ourselves that we end up identifying with can be especially tempting during this period.
As we strive toward our ideal of more independence and individualism, we should watch that we don’t leave people behind. The image of a spiritual warrior championing for the vulnerable would be the better theme during this cycle. It’s a good idea to check in with ourselves to be sure we’re not harboring delusions of ourselves and others who we might imagine to be courageous or free. Other issues to watch for include impatience with those things we don’t understand or with intricate matters and being caught off guard by competitors or anger that we failed to recognize.
It can be a time of great wonder and impulse–we tend to boldly follow our intuition wherever it leads us. We have faith in our ability to innovate, lead, start anew, and win. We can be talented at inspiring others to action and promoting our beliefs, ideas, and missions. It can be a time of decidedly new, exciting, and modern styles in fashion, art, and music and perhaps radical or pioneering changes in beliefs, religion, and philosophy.
New approaches to spirituality can figure strongly, and compassionate acts can be a goal. Aries is too stern to express itself compassionately, preferring action and revolution to express its care. We’re ready to reject and do away with dogma. The need for change and innovation is felt innately and intuitively.
The North Node of the Moon & Eclipses in 2025
Eclipses falling along the Virgo-Pisces sign axis dominate this year, with the final eclipse along the Aries-Libra axis occurring in March (a Solar Eclipse in Aries). The first along the Virgo-Pisces sign axis happened on September 17th, 2024 (a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces).
The True North Node leaves Aries and enters Pisces early in 2025: on January 11th (True NN) and January 29th (Mean NN).
There are four eclipses in the year 2025, as follows:
- Total LUNAR Eclipse March 14, 2:54:23 at 23 Virgo 57
- Partial SOLAR Eclipse March 29, 6:57:34 at 9 Aries 00
- Total LUNAR Eclipse September 7, 14:08:37 at 15 Pisces 22
- Partial SOLAR Eclipse September 21, 15:53:51 at 29 Virgo 05
With the North Node in Aries and the South Node in Libra until January, we continue to receive the message that over-identifying with a partnership or resorting to appeasing a partner can undermine our relationships. We’re working on co-dependency issues and indecision by cultivating independence.
It’s a period of learning to love ourselves, trust our instincts, and lead without fear. Learning to act on our impulses, which implies a certain amount of self-confidence, is an empowering lesson of the North Node in Aries. Striving for internal peace, rather than focusing only on achieving harmony and balance in relationships, will improve our relations and bring us happiness and satisfaction.
However, last September’s Lunar Eclipse was in Pisces, starting a new eclipse sign set. It was the first eclipse in a set occurring along the Virgo-Pisces axis that will extend until February 2027. In 2025, three of the four eclipses occur in this set. As well, the North Node enters Pisces in January and continues in the sign all year.
There’s a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo in March 2025, a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces in September 2025, a Solar Eclipse in Virgo in September 2025, a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo in March 2026, a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces in August 2026, and a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo in February 2027. Note that this is dominated by Lunar Eclipses!
These eclipses can serve as prompts, nudges, or pushes to make improvements in Virgo- and Pisces-ruled areas of life in our charts, and feelings of discontent can magnify.
Health or work issues may come to the fore with the health and service axis (Pisces-Virgo) involved. The ability to set boundaries to the amount of service we render can also become a significant issue. However, this sign axis is also about balancing faith and practicality. Situations that test our faith or magnify our fears and doubts may be part of the picture. Secrets may be revealed, including discovering secrets of our own nature from deep within.
For some, a new “calling” will surface. A new line of work that better matches our inner nature, desire to serve, or emotional make-up may unfold in the months following this eclipse. We may discover that we need more rest or attention to our spiritual nature than we currently allow ourselves. Our hearts open, and issues of trust and faith are in focus.
Health and service matters are bigger themes with Virgo-Pisces eclipses.
Venus & Mars Retrogrades
Venus turns retrograde in 2025 and Mars continues its retrograde that began in December of 2024.
From December 6th, 2024, Leo areas of our charts require/required some rethinking. We might re-assess our current projects, our approach to getting what we want, and our desire nature. Rather than directly assert our desires, we tend towards introspection. We can be hesitant about taking action, second-guessing our instincts or natural impulses rather than acting upon them. See Mars Retrograde for more details.
With Mars retrograde in Leo, pride can push us to greater heights, but it can also keep us from expressing our true feelings, for example, or prevent us from truly learning from our experiences and from others. With Mars retrograde in Leo, we might see more sulking or pulling away to make a point.
Leo rules children, creativity, recreational pleasure, entertainment, and romance. As such, we may need to re-assess our approach to these matters, perhaps due to frustration or anxiety. Projects may not get off the ground as planned, possibly due to hesitation, caution, and fear of taking risks. Health issues may be a factor (especially in areas ruled by Leo–the heart and back), and accidents a possibility throughout the Mars retrograde period.
- Mars began its retrograde in the sign of Leo on Dec 6, 2024, at 6 Leo 11, returns to the sign of Cancer on January 6, 2025, and then continues in Cancer until Mars ends its retrograde on Feb 23, 2025, turning direct at 17 Cancer 01.
While retrograde, Mars returns to Cancer on January 6th, 2025.
With Mars retrograde in the already introspective sign of Cancer, we might experience smoldering anger, finding it hard to discover direct and healthy expressions or outlets for frustrations. We can be more pensive and cautious, taking our time to reach our goals. If we push ahead impulsively anyhow, we run into problems, obstacles, and frustrations.
Cancer rules our inner foundations as well as outer ones–our homes, domestic affairs, and relationships with family. As such, we may need to re-assess our approach to our home lives. We are apt to feel some frustration or anxiety about our basic sense of comfort and security–our roots– and with regards to the development of our domestic affairs.
Health issues may be a factor (especially in areas ruled by Cancer, including the stomach), and accidents a possibility throughout the Mars retrograde period.
Our goal during a Mars retrograde period should not be, however, to simply sit on our impulses or to squelch our enthusiasm. Rather, it should be to better understand our impulses, survival instincts, anger, sexuality, inner courage, and the ways we go about getting what we want from life. The cosmos are asking us to look before we leap rather than throwing ourselves into action, just for the time being.
Note that including the shadow period of retrograde Mars gives these dates: October 4th, 2024, to May 2nd, 2025. The retrograde itself is from December 6th, 2024, to February 23rd, 2025).
Venus is retrograde in 2025 from March 1st to April 12th. This retrograde cycle occurs in the signs Aries and Pisces.
Including the shadow period of retrograde Venus gives us these dates: January 28th to May 16th. Shadow periods include the degrees that are revisited during retrograde periods.
Note that similar retrograde Venus patterns repeat in about eight years, and a similar Venus Rx period occurred from March 4th to April 15th, 2017, also in Aries and Pisces. There can be common themes shared with this past period.
As the planet of love and values, Venus retrograde periods are times when we re-assess what—and who—we value. It is a period that many astrologers consider inopportune for getting married or starting a new relationship. Major financial undertakings are not advised during this period either. Venus retrograde cycles are good times for creating budgets and financial plans, and for re-thinking our personal relationships. Taking final action in the areas of finance and love, however, is not advised until Venus turns direct again.
With Venus retrograde in Aries for much of this retrograde cycle (Venus is retrograde in Aries from March 1st to 27th), our needs for action may be especially high but frustrated. We may question how much independence and confidence we have in our relationships.
With Venus in Pisces towards the end of the cycle (Venus is retrograde in Pisces from March 27th to April 12th), the tendency for misplaced faith, or to be taken off guard, in love may be strong. The compassion we’re seeking may be missing now.
Old friends and lovers may re-appear, perhaps complicating current relationships. We may be called upon to deal with relationship issues from the past during this Venus retrograde cycle. Events occur that seem fated or pre-destined. It can be a real challenge getting close to a lover during this period of time. Unorthodox, experimental, and non-intimate relationships may be favored.
Affection is difficult to express in a natural or spontaneous manner. We might find others are lacking in sincerity or genuineness in their expressions of social niceties. (We may be inclined to do the same!).
Venus is in its detriment in the sign of Aries (Aries is opposite Libra, which Venus rules). Some of the more negative associations of Venus in Aries may be particularly prominent and/or hard to take, and these include impatience, arrogance, and childishness or naivety. Those who have Aries strong in their charts may be more introspective, distant, or hard to reach during this cycle. They may not be in a very favorable light just now, and they may be reconsidering things.
Relationships that have been especially challenging may come to an end during this cycle. However, strong relationships will survive it, even if there are a few bumps and bruises along the way. This can be a good time for “eyes wide open” or experimental dating, although opinions and assessments may change at a later date. It is not a time when people recognize the need for another person to “complete” them. Some people may be questioning whether they are with partners who actually fulfill them.
We may, however, be especially in touch with our deeper, less obvious, and less superficial needs and wants. This makes it a good time for re-evaluating our relationship needs; but, again, major love decisions are best saved for after the cycle ends on April 12th, and better yet, beyond the shadow phase as well (after May 16th). Our perceptions may be skewed and we can come out of the retrograde cycle with regret if we have acted hastily, as the tendency to change our minds later is strong. Read more about this in the Venus turns retrograde calendar page.
Sign Emphasis in 2025
The areas of our charts where we find Taurus and Gemini can involve some shake-ups, new thinking and approaches, and radical changes in some cases. It’s also where we need to challenge ourselves and strive to improve. This year, the Gemini area is also where we are finding more joy until early June.
The areas of our charts where we find Aquarius involve new but slow evolution, transformation, renovation, and intensity. This used to be exclusively for Capricorn areas of our charts, but we’ve transitioned to the Aquarius chart areas.
Pisces life departments involve some lessons and strengthening exercises, and they require simplifying and harder (or smarter) work. Oddly, we’re also receiving lessons to expand our options, soften our boundaries, and spiritualize our approach in the same areas. It’s not always straightforward what’s expected of us!
Saturn fixes, balances, and gives us lessons with whichever sign, house, or point it visits–this year, it’s Pisces and Aries. Jupiter teaches too, but uses a far different approach, aiming to open us up and fill us with faith and courage to explore and discover–this year, in Gemini and Cancer areas.
Aries life departments are changing. Chiron continuing its transit of Aries all year isn’t new to us, but Saturn and Neptune’s arrivals are. Saturn and Neptune offer us very different messages. Saturn wants us to firm up in Aries areas, while Neptune softens our boundaries and loosens us up. Interestingly, Saturn and Neptune will only meet in the sign in 2026, but for now, we’re going through interesting experiences in Aries areas of our charts.
We’re finding our joy in Gemini and Cancer areas. Opportunities are opening for us in these life departments, but consider that the Cancer life departments open up from June forward. Earlier in the year, Cancer areas are under strain and some frustration.
