The New MOON/Solar ECLIPSE occurs on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, at 3:54 PM EDT.
On Sunday, a New Moon Solar Eclipse occurs in the sign of Virgo.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 29 degrees and 5 minutes of Virgo. In the last degree of the sign, there’s an urgency to our new beginnings. This eclipse opposes Saturn and Neptune and harmonizes with Uranus and Pluto. Our responsibilities to others, our emotional health, and our need for downtime can initially weigh us down. It can be difficult to pull ourselves away, but we have the tools to make the changes we now realize are necessary for growth.
It’s interesting to note that in this Virgo-Pisces set that runs from September 2024 to February 2027, this September Solar Eclipse is the only Solar Eclipse–the rest of the eclipses in this set are Lunar. It’s the fourth eclipse in this sign set.
A Solar Eclipse occurred at 29 degrees Virgo on September 22nd, 2006, September 22nd, 1987, and September 22nd, 1968.
In the sign of Virgo, work and health matters will be a major focus on a personal level in the months following this eclipse. This lunation is about new beginnings regarding work, attention to details, fitness, health regimes, and daily routines.
It’s time to build our powers of healthy, constructive discrimination; learn to be more pro-active; start a new health and fitness routine; set up specific routines that will help us manage our lives in positive, mindful ways; and learn the “power of now” and of mindfulness. We can learn to master the “little” details of our day-to-day lives in a more organized manner so that we can free our minds of clutter. For some of us, circumstances are such that we need to pay more attention to our work and health routines.
Flaws in an important system in our lives are revealed around the time of the eclipse, prompting us to redo or to start fresh. We may find ourselves completely re-working this area of life. Something ends in order for something else to start anew.
We may be called to give up something in order to move forward into a new chapter in our lives. Although the “new” may be unrecognizable, it is important to allow the necessary surrender to the unknown.
Virgo rules awareness of the body, making full use of resources, attention to details, organization, self-preservation skills, order, and critical analysis. Virgo sees flaws in systems, whether those systems are our daily routines, the methods we work with on the job, or our bodies.
Striving for perfection can be a wonderful challenge, as long as we don’t allow ourselves to become overly focused on flaws and feel guilty or perturbed over them. This is where Pisces, Virgo’s opposing sign, comes in to help. Compassion, and finding beauty in imperfection, is our path to balancing this energy.
For some, a new “calling” will surface in the coming six months. A new line of work that better matches our inner nature, desire to serve, or emotional make-up may unfold in the months following this eclipse.
Major developments in the personal areas of our charts ruled by Virgo are likely to occur over the course of the next 3-6 months. However, not everyone will feel the effect of the eclipse with the same intensity. Those whose personal planets are activated by the degree of the eclipse will feel its effects on a deeply personal level.
With this potent Virgo energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives that will benefit us well beyond this Moon cycle. For some of us, circumstances are such that we need to pay more attention to these matters.
The New Moon Solar Eclipse Chart:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 29 degrees and 5 minutes of Virgo, and affecting planets at approximately 24 to 30 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) and 0 to 4 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) the most.
With this eclipse’s configurations, we can be managing skepticism, frustrations with inconsistencies, and difficulties trusting what to believe. It’s also important to remember that an eclipse obscures an area of our lives while magnifying another, which is useful as long as we keep this in mind. As such, our view is skewed and exaggerated. In other words, we’re not seeing the whole picture, and we should therefore proceed with caution.

(Times are Eastern)
This week: The Sun is in Virgo until the 22nd, when it enters Libra; Mercury is in Libra; Venus is in Virgo; Mars is in Libra until the 22nd, when it enters Scorpio.
The Sun is in Virgo from August 22-September 22. Our focus shifts to the puzzle pieces–the little details of our lives. It is now time to take care of practical concerns. Attending to the details of everyday life may not sound like loads of fun, but it can certainly free us from unnecessary stress that results from “collecting” odds and ends of unfinished business.
This is an ideal time to get organized, do detailed work, and improve communications on the job. We take more pride in our work, chores, and health efforts. We also want to be more organized and informed during the Sun-in-Virgo cycle.
We’re learning humility and the benefits of developing skills, some level of perfectionism, and the importance of attention to detail. It’s a time of down-to-earth practicality when we prefer to invest our time and energy in things with realistic potential. We’re not inclined to ambition or “going big.” Attracting prosperity involves honest, careful, and attentive work and dedication.
The Sun is in Libra from August 22-September 22. Libra rules relationships with others as mirrors of ourselves. Meeting others halfway, compromise, and negotiation come under the rule of Libra. The focus is now on balance–finding balance and harmony through relationships with others and through art. Libra is the sign of the peacemaker.
However, life is not always peaceful with Libra in its attempt to restore balance. Decision-making can be more challenging while the Sun is in Libra. Libra weighs both sides of any situation, and sometimes this process seems endless!
In Libra, the Sun is concerned about not rocking the boat and not rubbing others the wrong way. Tactfulness, style, tolerance, and sociability are some of the keywords for Libra. On the shadow side, Libra can be self-serving, indecisive, passive-aggressive, and superficial.
Mercury is in Libra from September 18-October 6. When Mercury is in Libra, we are diplomatic and friendly. During this cycle, we bring a more rational approach to one-to-one relationships. It’s a good time to think about ways to improve our negotiation skills.
Mercury in Libra can be vacillating energy as we attempt to see both sides of any given situation. Making quick decisions can be more challenging than usual, as we can sit “on the fence.” We may too easily accommodate others’ opinions to keep the peace. In our negotiations, we don’t want to assert ourselves so as to appear to be the “bad guy.” However, this is a reasonable period for considering others’ points of view. We are more inclined to arrive at fair conclusions.
Venus is in Virgo from September 19-October 13. This is a time when we express our love through practical means and gestures–running errands, doing detail work, or just being there for our lovers. Love needs to make sense and have a purpose with Venus in Virgo.
Virgo is an Earth sign, which is sensual, but Virgo is also quite practical and mental. In addition to our romantic natures, what we purchase and the types of entertainment we enjoy during this cycle are ruled by whether or not they make sense and serve a practical purpose.
We could easily feel guilty if we are too self-indulgent at this time. Rendering services to others can fill a need, and can be an expression of love. The shadow side of this position is being overly critical of our partners or relationships, picky, nervous, or worried.
During the Venus-in-Virgo cycle, we can gravitate to, and find some benefits in, holistic healing, acupuncture, yoga, and nutritional boosts. We’re keenly interested in ways to enrich our lives and boost our well-being. “Health is wealth” could be a motto now. In fact, we might enjoy health-boosting activities more than usual. Businesses promoting nutrition, wholesomeness, and well-being might prosper at this time. Commitment and attention to detail are also more prominently considered virtues now.
In love, we’re not very showy, flowery, or demonstrative. Instead, we show our love through being of service. We’re conservative with money, pleasure, and romance at this time, ready to analyze and dissect these matters. This can also be a time when helping others, particularly with good advice regarding these Venus-ruled things, can be prominent and successful. We might meet friends or lovers through our work or health-pursuits. We can take a special interest in handiwork, crafts, lists/sorting, and bookkeeping.
Mars is in Libra from August 6-September 22. We tend to use our charm as a means to an end under the influence of this cycle. Because we can see many different sides of any given issue, we can be vacillating and indecisive about how to act. We don’t want to be the “bad guy” and rarely resort to force. Instead, we attempt to win arguments with style.
We are indirect in approach and inclined towards mental debates, yet we also try to make the opposition comfortable! Passive aggressiveness is the shadow side of this energy. We can be angry at ourselves if we’ve done too much conciliating.
We’re adept at predicting when problems and discord will occur well in advance and talented at compromise and conflict management.
We can be warriors for peace and justice during the Mars-in-Libra cycle. We strive for balance and avoid extremes. It’s an excellent time for strategy and teaming or partnering up to reach a goal.
Mars is in Scorpio from September 22-November 4. In Scorpio, Mars is driven and focused on getting what it wants. We are persevering, single-minded, and strong. The desire to experience our emotional depths, as well as the urge to penetrate the surface of life in order to explore deeper levels of existence, is powerful. We are fascinated with what others tend to repress, and are drawn to experiencing and understanding these things.
We are less inclined to avoid important issues now. In some ways, we are attracted to crisis, as we see crisis as transformative and emotionally exciting. We would rather feel extreme emotions than nothing at all, as mediocrity or the “middle road” is felt to be unsatisfying.
Jupiter is in Cancer.
Jupiter began its transit of Cancer on June 9th, 2025, and will continue its visit to the sign until June 30th, 2026. Read more about Jupiter’s transit of Cancer.
Saturn is in Pisces. Saturn was in Aries from May 24th, 2025 to September 1st, 2025, and will be in Aries again from February 13th, 2026, to April 12th, 2028. Read about Saturn’s transit of Aries. Saturn isn’t yet completely done with its transit of Pisces. Saturn transits Pisces from March 7th, 2023 until May 24th, 2025, and currently, from Sep 1st, 2025, to Feb 13th, 2026. Read about Saturn’s transit of Pisces.)
Uranus is in Gemini.
Uranus is in Gemini from July 7th to November 7th, 2025, from from April 25, 2026, to August 3, 2032, and then from December 12, 2032, to May 22, 2033. Read about Uranus in Gemini in its calendar page.
Uranus will have more work to do in the sign of Taurus from November 7th, 2025, to April 25th, 2026. Uranus began in Taurus in 2018/2019. During this cycle, we approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. Above all, we’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.
There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. In general, we’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money, are likely. Our income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Pluto is in Aquarius. Read about Pluto’s transit of Aquarius. Note that Pluto finally completed its journey through Capricorn on November 19th, 2024, from which time Pluto stays in Aquarius for many years to come.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Virgo from September 19 to October 13. This is a time when we express our love through practical means and gestures–running errands, doing detail work, or just “being there” for our lovers. Essentially, we fuss over our partners, sometimes a little too much! Our availability and accessibility is a sign of love.
Love needs to make sense and have a purpose with Venus in Virgo. Virgo is an Earth sign, which is sensual but also quite practical. We could easily feel guilty if we are too self-indulgent during this cycle. We can be a little shy and prone to worry. We pick up on many different cues, attempting to analyze every detail of our lovers’ reactions and responses. We could worry ourselves sick agonizing over details! In the process, we can miss out on the bigger and perhaps more meaningful cues.
As well, Virgo is a sign that can live very much in the mind in the middle of an experience, failing to enjoy the moment. Self-consciousness can get in the way of enjoyment. Rendering services to others can fill a need, and can be an expression of love. The shadow side of this position is being overly critical of our partners, picky, or worrisome.
This week: Passions are stirring and intense on Sunday, and there can be competitiveness in our dynamics. We may be raising questions in love.
On Tuesday, we’re letting love in. It’s easy to connect with and embrace our feelings and romantic needs–we’re ready to open up and be more vulnerable. On Saturday, however, there can be some reluctance to commit or show our affections.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Virgo If it makes sense you love it, and if it doesn’t you feel guilty about it: that’s what it’s like now. A loving attention to details and a sense of satisfaction in doing what is right (especially with respect to your health) are some of the qualities that come to the fore at a time like this.
Venus square Uranus September 19-20. We might have to deal with issues of freedom versus intimacy during this period. Peculiar or impulsive attractions are exciting, but unlikely to last very long. Treat them as passing fancies, and enjoy them while they last–but try to hold off on making any big decisions with regards to love today.
Venus quincunx Pluto September 20. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Venus contra-parallel Mars September 21. Passions are stimulated and intense. Fine line between love and hate. Competitiveness. Questions are raised or ultimatums made.
Venus parallel Chiron September 23. Healing energy is brought to love relationships, and a new cycle begins. A commitment-friendly transit. Love can heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings, and more willing to act upon them. This is a good time to make a resolution to repair, heal, and improve relationships.
Venus semi-square Jupiter September 24. We experience a strong desire for more pleasure in our lives, which can be excessive. Take care not to overstate your feelings or to set up unrealistic expectations in your partnerships.
Venus sesquiquadrate Chiron September 27-28. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves.
Venus contra-parallel Mercury September 29. We are voicing our feelings now, but we should be careful not to over-intellectualize our affections. We tend to analyze our feelings and relationships. Interactions bring up questions.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.
The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.
The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, September 21st, from 3:54 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to the Sun), until the Moon enters Libra at 5:41 PM EDT.
VOC on Tuesday, September 23rd, from 12:03 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Scorpio the next day, Wednesday, September 24th, at 5:01 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, September 26th, from 1:45 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Saturn), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 5:38 PM EDT.
September 2025:
Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).
The Moon is waning this week only until the New Moon on the 21st, which is usually considered unfavorable for new beginnings, although with some exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). The Moon is waxing after the New Moon on the 21st, which is largely considered favorable for new beginnings, but also subject to exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week from approximately 9:00 AM EDT on Wednesday, September 24th, until approximately 1:40 PM EDT on Friday, September 26th, while the Moon is in Scorpio. Caveat: this window is quite close to an eclipse.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Sun opposition Saturn. Our confidence is undermined by feelings of doubt, pessimism, or feelings of guilt. Feeling blocked, encountering obstacles to progress, and inhibitions are prominent under this influence. A heavy dose of realism seems forced upon us under this influence, but our efforts to measure up to expectations can ultimately increase our confidence in our ability to be responsible for ourselves. This influence is a somber one.
Mars quincunx Neptune. We can feel vaguely discontented and without direction under this influence. The tendency to be careless is also strong now. Poor judgment or laziness can prevent us from realizing our plans.
Sun opposition Neptune. It’s easy to get lost in fantasy at this time, as we feel somewhat directionless and less able to face everyday realities. Willpower is low. Not a good time for any financial undertaking or formal agreement.
Sun trine Uranus. An original, unique approach to life is in order with this transit, and works to our benefit. Flexibility is the key to success at this time, and pleasant changes are in store. We may make some creative changes and discoveries, experiment with new possibilities, or invent a new way of doing things. This is a dynamic and exciting period, one in which taking advantage of unusual or unconventional opportunities may reap rewards.
Sun trine Pluto. We are able to get to the bottom of things now. We are more decisive than usual, and our abilities to concentrate and focus help us achieve what we set out to do. Endurance, the power to achieve, an opportunity to draw upon our past and to capitalize on resources, and strategy are all themes of this influence. This is a very positive aspect for starting a money-making endeavor (all things equal) or a new project. Leadership skills are in focus and strong. We are more able to connect with others in terms of shared goals and interests. The focus now is on eliminating negative or superficial elements in our lives.
Mars quincunx Uranus. Making adjustments to our goals may be necessary now, and this can temporarily drain our energy or make us feel restless and impatient.
Mars square Pluto. Our desires are intense and difficult to satisfy under this influence. A tendency to bully and confront may dominate. Efforts to make changes could be thwarted, or power struggles emerge. The trick is to remain flexible and to develop strategies for achieving our goals. The desire to get the upper hand is strong, but it’s unlikely to happen under this influence. It would be wise to observe whatever powerful feelings that confrontations or conflicts arouse under this influence, as this transit has a way of pulling out suppressed matter, or emotional “slush”. Passions run high, and so does sexual energy.
Venus semi-square Jupiter. We might take great strides to get noticed. Avoid impulsive buying. Problems in our personal life likely won’t get resolved under this influence. Avoid hasty (or haughty!) decisions. We might overstate our feelings or promise more than we can deliver, and the tendency to overdo is strong.
Mercury sesquiquadrate Uranus. We can have flashes of insight, but tend to be scatterbrained. Our ideas and communications may not be well-received because they don’t seem to others to carry weight. Our minds are not peaceful or harmonious under this influence, and irritable tempers, sarcastic speech, and dogmatism are negative expressions of this energy. However, fresh and creative ideas may come to us now.

SEPTEMBER 21
A New Moon/Solar Eclipse occurs in the sign of Virgo today at 3:54 PM. A New Moon occurred last month in the first degree of Virgo, and this New Moon occurs in the final degree of the sign! As such, there can be an urgency to our new beginnings. This eclipse opposes Saturn and Neptune and harmonizes with Uranus and Pluto. Our responsibilities to others, our emotional health, and our need for downtime can temporarily weigh us down, but while it can be difficult to pull ourselves away, we have the tools to make the changes we now realize are necessary for growth. It’s interesting to note that in this Virgo-Pisces set that runs from September 2024 to February 2027, this September Solar Eclipse is the only Solar Eclipse–the rest of the eclipses in this sign set are Lunar. It’s the fourth eclipse in this sign set.
In the sign of Virgo, work and health matters will be a significant focus on a personal level in the months following this eclipse. This lunation is about new beginnings with work, attention to detail, fitness, health regimes, habits, and daily routines. It’s a time to commit to managing the details of our day-to-day lives in a more organized manner so that we can free our minds of clutter.
Because this eclipse occurs so close to a Sun-Saturn opposition, some restructuring of our lives and special attention to rules and limitations are in order. We can be managing skepticism, frustrations with inconsistencies, and difficulties trusting what to believe. It’s essential to remember that an eclipse obscures one area of our lives while magnifying another. As such, our view is skewed and exaggerated. In other words, we’re not seeing the whole picture, and we should therefore proceed with caution. The Moon heads into Libra at 5:41 PM EDT, and tomorrow, the Sun will move into this tactful, gracious sign.
The Moon is void from 3:54 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to the Sun), until the Moon enters Libra at 5:41 PM EDT.
SEPTEMBER 22
We have more “turning the page” energy with us today. Yesterday, a Solar Eclipse occurred, and on the 18th and 19th, Mercury and Venus changed signs. Today, both the Sun and Mars enter new signs. Mars leaves Libra and enters Scorpio, where it will transit until November 4th. In Scorpio, Mars is driven and focused on getting what it wants! Rarely backing down, we are persevering and single-minded, sometimes obsessively focused, under this influence. We gravitate to transformative and emotionally exciting experiences. We can also be secretive or simply not very forthcoming about our motivations, methods, and goals. It’s not always easy to call it a day or let something go. We are naturally strategic during this transit.
The Sun moves into the sign of Libra today. Until October 22nd, we more often focus on balancing our personal environments and relationships. It’s a time for considering alternatives and others’ needs, agendas, and desires. Meeting people halfway, compromising, and negotiating come under the rule of Libra. Decision-making can be more challenging while the Sun is in Libra–we weigh both sides of any situation, and sometimes this process goes on too long! In Libra, the Sun doesn’t want to rock the boat or rub people the wrong way. Tactfulness, style, tolerance, and sociability are some of the themes. On the shadow side, Libra can be indecisive, passive-aggressive, or superficial when challenged. With the Sun and Mars in side-by-side signs, we might often struggle with choosing a particular path. The Moon spends all day in the sign of Libra, aligning with Mercury this morning. With the Moon in Libra, coming to a sense of balance and harmony is important to us. The Moon-Mercury conjunction helps us find common ground and open up the lines of communication.
SEPTEMBER 23
Mars forms a quincunx with Neptune this morning (and will create the same aspect with Uranus tomorrow, forming a yod), and we can feel a little stuck — uncertain of what we truly want and where to head — until we connect with the spiritual or emotional needs we may have been overlooking. We could be dealing with minor changes to plans or a restless urge for change that interferes with the flow. Our efforts to satisfy our desires can sometimes miss the mark, but this gives us the opportunity to make refinements and recalibrate. Desires are strong, but a goal or path may not yet be clear, such that we can experience much restlessness.
The Sun opposes Neptune this morning, compounding the murky feelings, but later forms a trine with Uranus (tonight). We can feel directionless or not up to facing everyday realities, and may need to take a step back for spiritual refreshment. The tendency to put people on a pedestal or glamorize others can come to a head now, perhaps also extending beyond people to situations and objects. It’s a time for seeking a better balance between action and reflection. We are more sensitive and vulnerable this morning, but prone to misperceiving people or situations. It’s best to watch for projecting our unrealized dreams or wishes onto others. With willpower low and perceptions off, there are better times for major financial undertakings or formal agreements.
As the day advances, the Sun-Uranus trine and impending Sun-Pluto trine offer us wonderful outlets for pent-up frustrations. With these transits, it’s easier to find constructive channels for self-expression. We celebrate unique expression, new methods, and personal freedom, but we also have an eye for what’s superfluous and not worth our efforts. It’s a time when we find inspiration in unusual or different places. We can experience sudden wins or advances, and we appreciate people, situations, and things that are a little irregular, unusual, or unconventional. It can be a time of exciting discoveries, and our willingness to take a few creative risks and experiment can be one of the strongest keys to success. We’re encouraged to embrace the new; an original approach to life is appealing and works to our benefit. Getting rid of deadweights is easier than usual.
The Moon is void from 12:03 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Scorpio the next day, Wednesday, September 24th, at 5:01 AM EDT.
SEPTEMBER 24
The Moon continues its void period until the Moon enters Scorpio today at 5:01 AM EDT.
SEPTEMBER 25
SEPTEMBER 26
The Moon is void from 1:45 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Saturn), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 5:38 PM EDT.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Virgo
We instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice the smaller parts that make up the whole, and instead of letting nagging details bother us, we might work on ironing them out so that we can feel more confident moving ahead.
The Moon in Virgo generally favors the following activities: Mental pursuits, work activities, services, and routines. Activities that would benefit from tending to details.
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.

THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Virgo You’re coming into a new cycle centered on taking what you know and what you’ve got and then making the most of it in the real world. Assimilating information and experience, learning lessons and putting them into practice – that’s the focus as this cycle unfolds. It’s a time for prudence and stewardship, a time to tend to the details. You probably already have the grand ideals and visions: now you must get your hands dirty with the bricks and mortar and your mind busy with putting it all together.
Sun in Libra Meeting yourself in another person is the keynote of a new cycle which begins for you now. Relationships – romantic, business, social – are the arena where this drama is played out. In coming to know the other person, forging ties that bind two people, you come to a better understanding of yourself. It’s easy in theory, but it’s only in practice that it comes to mean anything real – so practice until you get it right!
Mercury in Libra A new cycle begins for you, signaling a greater than usual interest in relationships, social connections, and the arts – on a more intellectual level than in the past, most likely. Seeing both sides of an issue, and figuring out resolutions to opposing views: these things take on more importance in your life.
Venus in Virgo If it makes sense you love it, and if it doesn’t you feel guilty about it: that’s what it’s like now. A loving attention to details and a sense of satisfaction in doing what is right (especially with respect to your health) are some of the qualities that come to the fore at a time like this.
Mars in Libra “I’m giving you a definite maybe” – that’s the motto of the cycle you’re now entering. It’s a time of refinement and tact, of an urge to please others that is so strong as to make it hard to decide or act for fear of offending someone. You’ll quickly learn to balance this out, or you’ll discover that there is no peace in compromise – and this can be tough on close relationships. The trick is to find the win-win solution to the no-win situation – and if anyone’s ever up to it, you are now.
Mars in Scorpio Tear it down and build it up again, reach in and pluck out the offending element: that’s what the new cycle you have entered is like. Power becomes a compelling idea, perhaps even an aphrodisiac – and you’ve got a stronger than usual supply of it now. Use it, don’t abuse it – or you might find that it’s a two-edged sword!
Jupiter in Cancer Taking care of yourself and all that’s yours becomes a high priority in your life now. Security, setting down roots, establishing your ties with the past: these things are among the articles of faith that guide you. This is often a sign of growth in all things connected with family and property (such as real estate).
Saturn in Pisces Making peace with the past, coming to terms with karmic debts: these are some of the issues that confront you as a new phase begins in your life. Failure to face these things can cause setbacks and put obstacles in your path. Learn to look beyond the narrowly personal and selfish or you’ll get in over your head.
Uranus in Gemini New ideas, new input, and new ways of exchanging these things with others – all these and more become increasingly important factor in your life now, as you enter into a new phase. This is a period of enhanced mental activity, a nonstop stream of consciousness, of trying out new concepts and perspectives.
Neptune in Aries The frontier spirit is alive and well as a new cycle dawns in your life. Independence and originality take on a kind of primal importance for you; you tend to put these qualities on a pedestal, above all else. Fresh starts, new possibilities … these are the visions that light a spark in your soul. But what of the weak, the ones who aren’t free, the ones who get left behind?
Pluto in Aquarius Reform, revolution, a rejection of the past and a focus on the future: these are the signatures of the new phase now beginning in your life. Tradition becomes irrelevant, and the conventional wisdom is revealed as dogma or outright nonsense – and what’s the difference, really? Radical changes in all things social and intellectual.

Read more about this Solar Eclipse and other eclipses on the Lunations/Eclipses page.
NEXT WEEK: The next moon phase will not occur next week, but will happen the following week, on Monday, September 29th, 2025, at 7:54 PM EDT, when the First Quarter Moon occurs.
Moon Phase Cycle: Bigger Picture

2025, 3:54 PM, Sun conjunct Moon (New Moon/Solar Eclipse)
Sep 29, 2025, 7:54 PM, Sun square Moon (First Quarter Moon)
Oct 6, 2025, 11:47 PM, Sun opposition Moon (Full Moon)
Oct 13, 2025, 2:12 PM, Sun square Moon (Last Quarter Moon)
Oct 21, 2025, 8:25 AM, Sun conjunct Moon (New Moon)
