A FULL Moon occurs on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 1:05 PM EST.

On Thursday, a Full Moon occurs in the sign of Virgo. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time--a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.

With the Virgo-Pisces service axis involved, this Full Moon presses us to find a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Pisces). Virgo rules the tools and techniques that we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools that we use to deal with our spiritual selves. Some sort of crisis (which can be a crisis of consciousness) or sudden awareness of a lack in our lives provides us with a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs within the context of the house polarity where the Full Moon occurs in our natal charts. This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between work and service, practicality and impracticality, criticism and acceptance.

With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic "illumination" occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It's time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can't sit on our feelings. We need to express them. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is not particularly rational as yet.

This phase of the Moon occurs at 14 degrees and 50 minutes of Virgo opposing the Sun at 14 degrees and 50 minutes of Pisces, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 12-18 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.

(Times are Eastern)

The Sun is in Pisces; Mercury is in Aquarius; Venus is in Aries; Mars is in Aries.

The Sun is in Pisces from February 18-March 20. With the Sun in Pisces, we are guided by altruistic feelings. We are less active, and more motivated by our instincts. A "what will be, will be" attitude reigns, and we are guided by a sense of universal correlations. Pisces rules empathy, selfless love, devotion, and wisdom. Its shadow side rules self-pity, a feeling of being victimized by life, passivity, and elusiveness.

Mercury is in Aquarius from January 4-March 12. (An unusually long transit for Mercury, due to a retrograde period that occurs entirely in the sign of Aquarius from January 21 to February 11). When Mercury is in Aquarius, we are hungry for knowledge and open to new and original ideas. We begin to think outside of the box, and our thinking becomes more progressive and objective. Our communication and thought patterns are spontaneous, somewhat fragmented, and liberal. This is a time when inventive thinking is at a peak.

Venus is in Aries February 20-March 17. In Aries, love is spontaneous and direct. The chase is very exciting to us under this fiery influence. We are bold, fresh, and a little impatient when it comes to matters of the heart. We don't look back with Aries energy. We are not interested in saying sorry or dwelling on the past. It's a brand new day! It's time to make things work right now. Aries is known for a love of the chase and the conquest, but Aries love can be longstanding as long as it remains relatively fresh. Aries is blunt--there's no sugar-coating with Aries. This can sting, but rarely is Aries energy mean or petty. Saying it like it is is important to Aries. Desires are strong and expressed spontaneously, enthusiastically, and directly. Aries prefers to seduce rather than be seduced, to chase rather than be chased.

Mars is in Aries February 19-March 31. Mars feels at home in one of the signs that it rules, Aries, and therefore its power is boosted. Our energy is spontaneous, forward-looking, and even courageous under this influence. Our competitive spirit is well-developed, and our goal is to win! We are active, single-minded, and confident. Our actions are direct--we instinctively find the fastest way to get from point A to point B. The shadow side of Mars in Aries is a tendency to be impatient, arrogant, impulsive, short-lived, unreflecting, and self-centered.

Saturn transits Sagittarius from December 23, 2014, to June 14, 2015, and then from September 17, 2015 to December 20, 2017. Read about Saturn's transit through Sagittarius here.

Jupiter entered Leo on July 16th, where it will transit until August 11th, 2015. Read about Jupiter's transit through Leo here. Jupiter will transit Virgo from August 11, 2015 to September 9, 2016.

Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.

Romance & Relationships

Venus is in Aries from February 20-March 17.

This week: Insecurities in love can be stimulated on Sunday and Monday, and we may be reviewing our relationships in terms of whether or not they support us. Tuesday and Wednesday, relationships are both rewarding and complicated. Venus connects with Uranus just after Jupiter and Uranus form a trine, and this can stimulate a strong desire to change, grow, and progress through/with others. Pluto challenges Venus at the same time, complicating emotions and feelings.

Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:

Venus in Aries February 20-March 17. Romance at the drop of a hat is part and parcel of the cycle you have just begun. Winning the hearts of others can be a challenge you're eager to accept - and the thrill of the chase might be most of the fun. Is it the pursuit of happiness - or the happiness of pursuit?
Venus opposition North Node March 1-2. This is a time for reviewing our attachments in terms of whether they are contributing to our growth.
Venus parallel Uranus March 3-4. We embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit. Peculiar, sudden, or avant garde attractions. This is an exciting but unstable energy. Friendship in love relationships becomes more important.
Venus trine Jupiter March 4. Harmony and good will reign under this influence. Expansive feelings in love, and a feeling that anything is possible if we set our sights high enough, are experienced now. We are friendly, big-hearted, sociable, and optimistic. It is easy to make social contacts under this influence. Cheerfulness, trust, and confidence in love and social matters.
Venus conjunct Uranus March 4. We have a taste for the unusual and the avant garde. We are itching for a change. What makes a person unique is more attractive under this influence. Excitement and newness are valued over permanence in social relationships. Freedom is more important than intimacy just now. We lose our fears of taking risks in love and social situations. Romantic infatuations, gossip, unanticipated opportunities socially or financially. We have a greater need for self-expression, personal freedom, and social excitement.
Venus square Pluto March 4. Intense passions, but there's a hidden agenda. Jealousy and possessiveness are high, in direct proportion to fear of losing partnership. Avoid starting a new relationship at this time, because it can be characterized by these energies.

The Moon & Timing

The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here, and is indicative of the "outcome" of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period, or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology). Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology.

The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:

Void-of-course Moon on Saturday, February 28th, from 12:53 PM EST, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Pluto), until the Moon enters Leo the next day, Sunday, March 1st, at 6:35 PM EST.

VOC Moon on Tuesday, March 3rd, from 3:49 AM EST, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Mercury), until the Moon enters Virgo the next day, Wednesday, March 4th, at 6:59 AM EST.

VOC Moon on Thursday, March 5th, from 1:37 PM EST, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Pluto), until the Moon enters Libra the next day, Friday, March 6th, at 7:53 PM EST.

Void of Course Moon Table for March 2015:

This Week's Calendar

This Week's Aspects

MercurysextileUranus Mercury sextile Uranus. This is an opportune time to attend meetings and other organized group activities, to communicate online, and to take part in activities involving computers, scientific projects, and metaphysics. Unexpected gains may be realized through such mediums. The intuition is strong, and insights seem to come from "out of the blue". Original, creative ideas are easy to come by. We can take advantage of our ability to see things in a new light by breathing life into old projects or solving problems in new, creative ways. Varying our usual routine may be especially rewarding.

MercuryoppositionJupiter Mercury opposition Jupiter. In an attempt to attach greater meaning to our thoughts and ideas, we may exaggerate, overstate, or overestimate. We strive to find both meaning and purpose to our lives. However, it is all too easy to miss or neglect important details. Our ideas and plans may be too grandiose just now. Lack of clear mental focus, but we may make measurable progress if we can focus.

JupitertrineUranus Jupiter trine Uranus. We're open to new energies, approaches, and attitudes under this influence. Fortunate events occur as a direct result of our willingness to entertain the unusual and to think outside of the box. Favors group activities, financial endeavors associated with groups or organizational efforts, educational pursuits, writing, publishing, speaking, and humanitarian efforts. The outlook is positive and optimistic.

trine Venus trine Jupiter. Friendliness and optimism characterize this transit. We are big-hearted and our feelings are expansive. The outlook is cheerful and hopeful and the atmosphere is cooperative. This is a sociable, perhaps lazy and self-indulgent, time. We easily find meaning in our social connections. We are more open and trusting of friends and lovers. Integrity and loyalty are favored. A favorable influence for winning people's trust. Speculation, advertising, publishing, and travel are favored.

VenusconjunctUranus Venus conjunct Uranus. We have a taste for the unusual and the avant garde. We are itching for a change. What makes a person unique is more attractive under this influence. Excitement and newness are valued over permanence in social relationships. We lose our fears of taking risks in love and social situations. Romantic infatuations, gossip, unanticipated opportunities socially or financially. We have a greater need for self-expression, personal freedom, and social excitement.

Venussquarepluto Venus square Pluto. Intense passions, but there's a hidden agenda. Feelings of jealousy and possessiveness run high, in direct proportion to fear of losing partnership. Avoid starting a new relationship at this time, because it can be characterized by these energies. Social interactions may be intense or could provoke intense feelings. Changes in financial status or relationships may occur now. Emotions and issues in a close relationship that have been brewing beneath the surface for quite awhile come to the surface at this time, possibly in a very disruptive way. All of our relationships intensify and we need to be aware of a tendency to act in a rather compulsive, demanding way towards others. This is an "all or nothing" energy. Manipulative behavior, fear of betrayal, and power struggles are possible.

Sunquincunx Sun inconjunct (quincunx) Jupiter. The desire to experience something new or for more freedom to explore can amount to restlessness if we don't know what it is we want. This is a time of adjustments, and perhaps of letting go of old habits, so that we can free ourselves up for different experiences.

SunsextilePluto Sun sextile Pluto. Research brings rewards. We benefit now from strategy and keeping things to ourselves for the time being. Opportunities to find or renew something we had lost, and to gain some power are available now.

SunconjunctChiron Sun conjunct Chiron. An opportunity to find a sense of purpose or a "mission" arises now, increasing our confidence. Alternatively, we might face life lessons that get us in touch with the insecurities that hold us back from feeling confident. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and through others is strong. Problem solving is favored.

What's In Store By the Stars - Daily Astrology Trends

(as featured on our site's main page and in our Daily Trends Calendar)

MARCH 1
The Moon continues its transit of Cancer until 6:53 PM EST, when it enters Leo. Mercury sextiles Uranus and then opposes Jupiter today. There can be a lot of excitement and enthusiasm about our ideas now, and some anxiousness to share them, although also some sensitivity to how they're received. We need room to explore and create, to visualize new solutions to problems, and to express ourselves freely. However, we are inclined to exaggerate or to attach greater meaning to our ideas and communications. We might overstate or overestimate in the process.

The Moon is void until it enters Leo at 6:35 PM EST.

MARCH 2
The Moon continues to transit Leo, all day, harmonizing with Saturn and Mars this morning, and then with Venus this evening. Tonight, the Moon harmonizes with Uranus and aligns with Jupiter, and these two bodies are coming to a trine, exact tomorrow. Today's energies are warm, hopeful, happy, productive, and progressive. It's easy to find commonalities with others, and we're especially open to new ways of relating, thinking, and doing.

MARCH 3
Jupiter trines Uranus this morning - an aspect that first formed in September and will form again in June. We're open to new energies, approaches, and attitudes under this influence. Fortunate events occur as a direct result of our willingness to entertain the unusual and to think outside of the box. This influence favors group activities, financial endeavors associated with groups or organizational efforts, educational pursuits, writing, publishing, speaking, and humanitarian efforts. Generally speaking, we are feeling positive and hopeful, and we might be reassessing recent ventures in order to make improvements. The Moon is in Leo again all day.

A void of course Moon occurs from 3:49 AM EST, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Mercury), until the Moon enters Virgo tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4th, at 6:59 AM EST.

MARCH 4
Venus aligns with Uranus and harmonizes with Jupiter today, stimulating a strong taste for the unusual as well as a need for freedom and excitement in our relationships. We are big-hearted, open to new ideas and experiences, and looking to make progressive changes. We need to feel that we're growing in and through our relationships. We have a greater need for self-expression, personal freedom, and social excitement. Tonight, Venus squares Pluto, bringing intensity into the equation. Problems or fears that have been put aside can now surface in disruptive ways. Dissatisfaction with levels of freedom in relationships can be stimulated. There may be changes in financial affairs or status. The Moon leaves Leo at 6:59 AM EST, and enters Virgo.

The Moon ends its void period at 6:59 AM EST, when it enters Virgo.

MARCH 5
The Moon continues its transit of helpful Virgo all day. The Sun is quincunx Jupiter early into the day, and a desire for more freedom or to experience something new can be with us, but we may not know what or how. This is a time of adjustments, and perhaps of letting go of old habits, so that we can free ourselves up for different experiences. A Full Moon occurs in the sign of Virgo at 1:05 PM EST. The Full Moon is a time of culmination, romance, and relationships. Emotions run high. With the Sun in Pisces and the Moon in Virgo, we may be looking for a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Pisces). Virgo rules the tools and techniques that we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools that we use to deal with our spiritual selves. Sudden awareness of a lack in our lives provides us with a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs within the context of the house polarity where the Full Moon occurs in our natal charts. This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between work and service, practicality and impracticality, criticism and acceptance. There can be announcements, proclamations, and epiphanies now. Tonight, the Sun sextiles Pluto, subtly increasing our ambition, determination, and dedication. Making improvements or working toward a personal goal can be successful now.

A void of course Moon occurs from 1:37 PM EST, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Pluto), until the Moon enters Libra the next day, Friday, March 6th, at 7:53 PM EST.

MARCH 6
Until 7:53 PM EST, the Moon continues its transit of Virgo. We instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice smaller aches and pains more now than usual. We might be a little more reserved or self-contained than usual, but helpful if needed. We pay more attention to details, and we are especially sensitive to criticism. The Moon moves into Libra at 7:53 PM EST, and we continue to be especially interested in creating order, but more through harmonizing our relationships and our environment.

The Moon ends its void period at 7:53 PM EST, when it enters Libra.

MARCH 7
The Moon is in relationship-minded Libra all day, and we are sensitive to imbalances. The Sun aligns with Chiron today in Pisces, and we want to align ourselves with a mission or goal. We might face life lessons that get us in touch with the insecurities that hold us back from feeling confident. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and through others is strong. We have new tools at our disposal for dealing with problems or complications. We are more courageous about facing our fears and wounds, which brings us a step closer to healing.

Moon Signs This Week:

When the Moon is in Cancer

MoonCancerThe restlessness of the Gemini Moon gives way to an instinctive need for peace and quiet. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us.

The Moon in Cancer generally favors the following activities: Domestic activities, those that involve awareness of personal needs. Home decor, family get-togethers.

When the Moon is in Leo

MoonLeoThe Moon in Leo speaks to our "inner child". It's a warm, generous, whole-heartedly loving position. Pride keeps us from pettiness, but it can also prevent us from opening up and revealing how we are truly feeling. We are on stage, our feelings are grand, and we appreciate some drama in our lives. We are easily threatened by anything that seems to be impersonal. This is a time when we seek attention--when we want to stand out for our special qualities. It's a strong time for romance and any creative activity as well.

The Moon in Leo generally favors the following activities: Creative activities, activities involving children, generous undertakings, undertakings in which personal recognition is desired, and risk-taking.

When the Moon is in Virgo

MoonVirgoWe instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice the smaller parts that make up the whole, and instead of letting nagging details bother us, we might work on ironing them out so that we can feel more confident moving ahead.

The Moon in Virgo generally favors the following activities: Mental pursuits, work activities, services, and routines. Activities that would benefit from tending to details.

When the Moon is in Libra

MoonLibraCreating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.

The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.

When the Moon is in...Transits of the Moon through the Signs.

This Week's Planetary Positions By Sign (General Trends):

Sun in Pisces The mystic, the martyr, the sinner, and the saint: these archetypes take on greater importance in your life at a time like this. Forgiveness, compassion, and understanding come naturally, when you look at life from an eternal perspective - and if anyone ever does know such things, you'll probably come to understand them as this cycle unfolds. This can be a phase of sublime spiritual development, to be sure. But you should be aware of tendencies to believe too quickly, too deeply, or to become dependent on things or people that seem to offer quick and easy answers to life's deepest yearnings.

Mercury in Aquarius The tried and true doesn't cut it anymore: it's the new, the unique, and the original that catches and holds your interest now. Idealism, rationality, and critical thinking become more and more a part of your mental patterns and the way you communicate. You are inventive, original, high tech.

Venus in Aries Romance at the drop of a hat is part and parcel of the cycle you have just begun. Winning the hearts of others can be a challenge you're eager to accept - and the thrill of the chase might be most of the fun. Is it the pursuit of happiness - or the happiness of pursuit?

Mars in Aries Fresh challenges and initiatives light your fires now, as a new cycle begins in your life - lots of energy, a powerful urge to be first or come out on top. Away with the old and on to the new - let no one and nothing stand between you and your objective! Headstrong impulses and rash courage can take you far ... sometimes in harm's way, if you're not careful.

Jupiter in Leo High drama, big romance, a creative bonanza: this is the stuff dreams are made of now. The world is your stage, the spotlight is your goal, and the love and appreciation of others is the air you breathe. Children, lovers, admirers: these are the people who figure large in your life as this cycle progresses. A willingness to gamble on the future.

Saturn in Sagittarius The new phase now beginning in your life brings a need to break out of narrow concepts and legalistic philosophical or religious ideas. Remember: "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds." Opportunities to broaden your mental horizons may not come with ease, but they are essential if you are to avoid a kind of spiritual stagnation.

Uranus in Aries
A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.

Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver's seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?

Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable - and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small, but has bigger consequences than you'd think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place...
