Timing with the Moon
Romance & Relationship Report
A FULL MOON occurs on Monday, June 20, 2016, at 7:02 AM EDT.
On Monday morning, a Full Moon occurs, when the Gemini Sun opposes the Moon in Sagittarius. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Gemini-Sagittarius polarity is a mental axis, where Gemini represents the “lower mind” and Sagittarius represents the “higher mind”. The Gemini Sun encourages us to think logically, while the Sagittarius Moon persuades us to intuit, and to think in a broader manner. Sagittarius symbolizes the quest for meaning and ideas that expand upon the “here and now”. Gemini is quite comfortable in his or her immediate environment or neighborhood, while Sagittarius stimulates us to venture beyond it. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about communication, attitude, and our sense of adventure. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them in some significant way.
The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between logic and intuition/faith. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is fresh, unrefined, and not particularly rational as yet.
This Full Moon is the second Full Moon in Sagittarius (the last Full Moon, in May, was also in Sagittarius), and is in the final degree of the sign. We may be getting final word on a matter. There can be a feeling of urgency to announce, close, or finalize a matter.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 29 degrees and 33 minutes of Sagittarius forming an opposition with the Sun at 29 degrees and 33 minutes of Gemini, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 27 to 30 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) and approximately 0 to 3 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

Jun 20, 2016 7:02 AM Sun Opposition Moon (Full Moon)
Jun 27, 2016 2:19 PM Sun Square Moon (Last Quarter Moon)
Jul 4, 2016 7:01 AM Sun Conjunct Moon (New Moon)
(Times are Eastern)
The Sun is in Gemini until the 20th, when it enters Cancer; Mercury is in Gemini; Venus is in Cancer; Mars is in Scorpio.
The Sun is in Gemini from May 20-June 20. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. We tend to scatter our energies as a result of this curiosity and awareness of all of our options. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.
The Sun is in Cancer from June 20-July 22. We are self-protective and insular under this influence. Our attention turns to our nest–our families, homes, and anything that makes us feel “at home”, safe, and secure. Nurturing and taking care of our loved ones and our pet projects comes into focus. Emotions run deep. We are more susceptible to the ups and downs of the Moon while the Sun is in Cancer.
Mercury is in Gemini from June 12-29. When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable. Mercury feels right at home in Gemini, one of the signs that it rules. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining a superficial knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic. We are especially astute when it comes to arguing or making a point. We are attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations. We are easily distracted.
Venus is in Cancer from June 17-July 12. In Cancer, Venus is nurturing, protective and self-protective, cautious, and fertile. We experience many emotional ups and downs in love under this influence due to increased sensitivity and impressionability. We are tender, romantic, and attached. Cancer love is dedicated, warm, and devoted. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern. We are affectionate and cuddly, and are at our best when we feel safe and secure.
Mars is in Scorpio from May 27-August 2. In Scorpio, Mars is driven and focused on getting what it wants. We are persevering, single-minded, and strong. The desire to experience our emotional depths, as well as the urge to penetrate the surface of life in order to explore deeper levels of existence, is powerful. We are fascinated with what others tend to repress, and are drawn to experiencing and understanding these things. We are less inclined to avoid important issues now. In some ways, we are attracted to crisis, as we see crisis as transformative and emotionally exciting. We would rather feel extreme emotions than nothing at all, as mediocrity or the “middle road” is felt to be unsatisfying.
Saturn transits Sagittarius from December 23, 2014, to June 14, 2015, and then from September 17, 2015 to December 20, 2017. Read about Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius here.
Jupiter entered Virgo on August 11th, and will transit Virgo until September 9, 2016. Read about Jupiter in Virgo here.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Mars is Retrograde in Sagittarius and Scorpio from April 17, 2016, to June 29th, 2016. Mars is retrograde in Scorpio this week.

Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Cancer from June 17-July 12. We treat lovers with sympathy and tenderness, providing the emotional nurturing that they need. We tend to “play it safe” when it comes to relationships. Love and devotion is most important to us, and provides us with a sense of inner security. We seek a deep love in which we can merge souls and personalities with our lover. We are quite devoted to our partners, and we seek such devotion in return. However, we could also become possessive, manipulative, and stifling. Familiarity is more important to us now. Our fear of rejection is overdeveloped, and we offer our hearts cautiously as a result. We pay more attention to our lovers’ feelings than their words. We feel threatened if a lover acts in an impersonal, overly independent, or detached manner. Safe and solid relationships are more appealing. Romantic and emotional hurts are very hard to forget.
This week: On Friday, Venus forms a dynamic aspect with Mars, and feelings are impassioned. We can be impatient in our relationships and timing can be a little off. If we can tone things down a little and respect others’ needs, this can be a creative, passionate time.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Cancer June 17-July 12. Mothering (or being mothered), sympathy, a yearning to put down roots, and a fondness for things that have stood the test of time – these are some of the hallmarks of the phase that now begins in your life. Romantic and social experiences, as well as artistic tastes, will show evidence of these factors.
Venus sesquiquadrate Mars June 24. Tensions in relationships. Attempting to satisfy romantic needs and assertive/sexual needs simultaneously can be challenging.
Venus quincunx Saturn June 26. A feeling that we may not be able to express our affections, or that our affections will not be received well, can undermine us in our relationships. Fear of rejection, emotional distancing, and over-sensitivity.
Venus trine Neptune June 26-27. We perceive romantic situations as if they were “designed” just for us. A magical, romantic time. The pleasures of life are experienced fully. Romance is highly favored. We see the very best in people now, and this eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Mars quincunx Uranus. Making adjustments to our goals may be necessary now, and this can temporarily drain our energy or make us feel restless and impatient.
Mercury opposition Saturn. Our thought patterns take on a negative skew, as we think in pessimistic terms and we communicate sparingly or reluctantly. It’s difficult to trust our instincts, and we second-guess things automatically under this influence. We may need to deal with red tape, re-doing tasks we thought we had finished, problems getting from point A to point B, delays in communication, negative thinking, hyper-sensitivity, and criticism.
Mercury square Neptune. We find it hard to follow facts, directions, and instructions. Difficulties concentrating on hard, cold facts are likely; and we may question facts altogether or avoid being pinned down for answers. This is a bad time for signing on the dotted line. Perceptions are confused, unrealistic, or too idealistic to carry weight in the real world. Conversations may be vague.
Mercury square Jupiter. Information overload is possible today. It is all too easy to miss or neglect important details. We may exaggerate, have a hard time putting our ideas to practical use, or overstate under this influence. This is an unfavorable transit for travel. Our ideas and plans may be too grandiose just now. We could have a hard time convincing others of our point of view, and we could too easily jump to conclusions. There could be a lot of talk about nothing. Lack of clear mental focus, but we may make measurable progress if we can concentrate.
Mercury quincunx Pluto. Something we write or say could trigger power struggles or hostility from others. We may be plagued with self-doubt in our attempts to make decisions. Decisions made now are unlikely to be objective. Re-assessing decisions we have made already, or adjusting our plans, may be in order. Second-guessing.
Venus sesquiquadrate Mars. Potential tensions in relationships. Attempting to satisfy romantic needs and assertive/sexual needs simultaneously can be challenging. Be wary of making impulse purchases. There is an air of competitiveness under this influence, which need not be difficult. It can be stimulating and invigorating.

What’s In Store By the Stars – Daily Astrology Trends
(as featured on our site’s main page and in our Daily Trends Calendar)
The Moon continues its transit of Sagittarius all day. Having moved beyond its conjunction with Saturn, the Sagittarius Moon is uninhibited and spontaneous, seeking freedom and meaning. We should watch for being unrealistic, however, as the Moon forms a square with Jupiter early today. Mars forms a quincunx with Uranus shortly into the day, and making adjustments to our goals may be necessary now. This can temporarily drain our energy or make us feel restless and impatient. If we’re not in touch with our need to make changes, we could feel a little tense. The Moon’s trine to Uranus this afternoon is helpful in this respect, as seeking out improvements comes quite naturally. Emotions tend to run a little higher than usual with the Moon approaching Full (a Full Moon occurs tomorrow morning). We should also watch for some nervous tension and communication blocks.
A Full Moon occurs this morning at 7:02 AM EDT in the last degree of Sagittarius. Last month’s Full Moon was also in Sagittarius. A Full Moon is a time of culmination, fertilization, and epiphany. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about communication, attitude, and our sense of adventure. We can have a hard time sitting on our feelings — something needs to be released now. We may be getting final word on a matter. There can be a feeling of urgency to announce, close, or finalize a matter. This Full Moon occurs shortly before the Summer Solstice and around the time of Mercury’s opposition to Saturn and square to Neptune. There can be some criticism, disappointment, second-guessing, and misunderstandings to deal with now. While the Full Moon tends to encourage announcements, we should be very careful about what we’re saying and how we say it. Negative reviews or feedback can be frustrating, but can also push us to improve. The Moon enters Capricorn at 7:55 AM EDT and the Sun enters Cancer at 6:35 PM. The Sun will transit Cancer until July 22nd. We are self-protective and insular under this influence. Our attention turns to our nest–our families, homes, and anything that makes us feel “at home”, safe, and secure. Nurturing and taking care of our loved ones and our pet projects come into focus. Emotions run deep. We are also more susceptible to the ups and downs of the Moon while the Sun is in Cancer.
A void of course Moon occurs from 7:03 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to the Sun), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:55 AM EDT.
Jupiter and Pluto are moving closer to their exact trine – the final perfection will occur on the 26th. Today, the Moon is in Capricorn all day, aligning with Pluto in Capricorn and forming a trine with Jupiter, making it rather easy to tap into the Jupiter-Pluto energy. Emotional intensity is likely today – we can have an “all or nothing” attitude. We can feel driven to make important changes to our business, relationships, or lifestyle. The desire for more personal significance can lead us to give of ourselves or motivate us to more ambitiously pursue personal or professional goals. The ability to sway or persuade can be enhanced, although we should probably avoid trying to maneuver or micromanage too closely. Flexibility is not a strong point just now, and we should avoid attempts to keep control of every situation. Our careers and objectives are in strong focus.
The Moon continues to transit Capricorn until 4:09 PM EDT, when it enters Aquarius. Mercury forms a square to Jupiter and a quincunx to Pluto, and there can be some nervous tension and misjudgment. Information overload is possible today. We may be missing or neglecting important details and/or harping on those that don’t matter as much. We may exaggerate, have a hard time putting our ideas to practical use, or overstate. We could have a hard time convincing others of our point of view, and we could too easily jump to conclusions. Decisions made now are unlikely to be objective. Re-assessing decisions we have made already, or adjusting our plans, may be in order. It’s a good time for thinking big, but refinements will likely be necessary later.
A void of course Moon occurs from 4:58 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Uranus), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 4:09 PM EDT.
Under the influence of an Aquarius Moon all day, we have an emotional need for freedom and independence. We thrive on intellectual stimulation, change, and unusual or unconventional experiences. There is good energy, particularly in the middle of the day, for team effort and productivity. There is a more peaceful, fair approach to one another that makes it easier to connect. Even so, there can be some mixed signals given off in terms of whether we want closeness or freedom today.
The Moon spends most of the day in Aquarius, and we are attracted to the unusual, extraordinary, and unconventional. Independence, equality, and freedom are vital to feeling emotionally satisfied with this position of the Moon. The Moon enters Pisces at 10:32 PM EDT. With Venus and Mars forming a sesquiquadrate aspect this morning, there can be potential tensions in relationships. There is an air of competitiveness under this influence, which need not be difficult – it can be stimulating and invigorating. However, the impatient side to this aspect may be aggravated by a Moon-Mars square.
A void of course Moon occurs from 11:49 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Uranus), until the Moon enters Pisces at 10:32 PM EDT.
The Moon is in Pisces all day, harmonizing with the Sun and Venus, aligning with Neptune, and forming a square with Saturn. Decisions or commitments may not be easy now, but tapping into our intuition is. We are inclined to daydream and perhaps stray from our regular routine a little. Boundaries dissolve, and we are more idealistic than usual, although the Moon’s square to Saturn can remind us that we need to follow some rules. We can also be evasive and shy away from conflict, especially direct confrontation. Jupiter and Pluto move towards their final trine in a set that began in October, exact tomorrow morning. This helps us to focus and prioritize, and can also stimulate ambition and desire to improve, grow, and expand.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don’t want to plan ahead, and prefer to “wing it”.
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve “winging it”, travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
When the Moon is in Capricorn
We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don’t want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence–even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.
The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
When the Moon is in Aquarius
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
When the Moon is in Pisces
We are not inclined to want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It’s a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
This Week's Planetary Positions By Sign (General Trends):
Sun in Gemini The cycle which begins for you now will be marked by a more intense focus on mental and communicative activity than you may ever have experienced before. It’s a time of more involvement with other people, a time for gathering information, and a time when you’re apt to be more on the go than ever. There is likely to be an emphasis on reading, writing, studying, and all forms of exchanging information with others in the years ahead – and it will all serve as a path for self-discovery and personal development.
Sun in Cancer Being more in touch with your emotional roots is a keynote of the cycle that now takes hold in your life. This has to do with feelings, but it’s more than that: it’s about making the things you feel and care about a reality. At some levels, this means a greater focus on family life – parents, children, relatives, the whole domestic scene. On a somewhat broader scale, you’re likely to find that houses and other real property take on greater significance for you. Nurturing is where it’s at in your life now: making things grow and taking care of them, planting seeds that will develop and survive far into the future – that’s what it’s all about.
Mercury in Gemini A walking encyclopedia, a yen to know a little bit about everything (and everyone): these are the icons of the cycle you have just begun. Talking, writing, keeping a finger on the pulse of all that’s happening … this is a time of study and learning, a cycle of mental challenge, curiosity, and social/intellectual growth. Such things are an end in themselves rather than a means to any other end.
Venus in Cancer Mothering (or being mothered), sympathy, a yearning to put down roots, and a fondness for things that have stood the test of time – these are some of the hallmarks of the phase that now begins in your life. Romantic and social experiences, as well as artistic tastes, will show evidence of these factors.
Mars in Scorpio Tear it down and build it up again, reach in and pluck out the offending element: that’s what the new cycle you have entered is like. Power becomes a compelling idea, perhaps even an aphrodisiac – and you’ve got a stronger than usual supply of it now. Use it, don’t abuse it – or you might find that it’s a two-edged sword!
Jupiter in Virgo “To serve and protect” is the motto that best fits the cycle that now dawns in your life. Taking better care of such material concerns as work and health becomes an article of faith. You see the big picture where these things are concerned and realize that it can only come together when all the details are in place. Sometimes, in trying to get these details all lined up, you might lose sight of your objective. Remember: Look beyond the trees to see the forest.
Saturn in Sagittarius The new phase now beginning in your life brings a need to break out of narrow concepts and legalistic philosophical or religious ideas. Remember: “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.” Opportunities to broaden your mental horizons may not come with ease, but they are essential if you are to avoid a kind of spiritual stagnation.
Uranus in Aries A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small, but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
