The New MOON occurs on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, at 10:54 PM EDT.

On Sunday night, the Gemini Moon occurs. A New Moon is a time of rebirth–a time when we are given a chance to start fresh.

The New Moon in Gemini cycle presents opportunities to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Twins. It’s time to improve our communication skills by listening to others and enjoying their points of view, rather than doggedly seeking to find that one elusive “answer.”

This is a good cycle in which to re-evaluate our communication and social skills by questioning just how much we actually take in information and communicate in a friendly, non-threatening manner. How we get around (transit) and connect with others can be in great focus.

We might carve out more time to socialize and enjoy others–whether they are neighbors, friends, family, or acquaintances–just for the simple pleasure of doing so. It’s a good time to find new avenues or channels to express ourselves and learn by awakening our curiosity and refining our writing, speaking, teaching, and listening skills. We might commit to adding some mental variety to our lives and opening our minds to gathering more information and facts from our environment.

Although Gemini is sometimes associated with superficial connections and communications, dig a little deeper and you will see that there is much to learn from the light, two-way, and comfortable conversations that characterize the sign.

With this potent Gemini energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives.

This week: The Sun is in Gemini; Mercury is in Cancer; Venus is in Leo; Mars is in Taurus.

The Sun is in Gemini from May 20-June 21. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. Due to this curiosity and awareness of all our options, we tend to scatter our energies. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.

Gemini represents duality and mediation. Gemini’s energy is intelligent, optimistic, observant, and adaptable. It’s skeptical, ready to consider alternate ways of thinking. We’re prepared to trade, share, exchange, pass on news, teach, guide, and learn.

We gather information during the Sun-in-Gemini cycle, and we benefit from this transit’s objectivity. We’re quick-witted, cheerful, engaging, and we easily adapt, observe, and listen–it’s a clever and crafty influence.

On the downside, we can be gossipy, overly intellectual, or too rational when a softer touch would be more appropriate. As we relay and process information, we could be living too much in our heads, disconnected from what’s in our hearts.

Mercury is in Cancer from June 1-August 9 [a longer than usual transit due to Mercury’s retrograde from June 29th to July 23rd, entirely in the sign of Cancer]. When Mercury is in Cancer, we move from the desire for quantity with information to the need for quality. We think, speak, and take in information on a deeper, more instinctive level. We have less interest in what is universal and more interest in what affects us personally and the people close to us. Our thoughts are colored by our emotions, making it more challenging to be objective.

We have outstanding and detailed memories during this cycle. We’re more likely to absorb information about the emotional background or atmosphere/setting around us, picking up on moods and tones in addition to facts.

While we may not have great confidence in our ability to generate new or original ideas, we have a well-developed sense of humor and radiate warmth in our communications. We take great interest in (and notice of) personal issues and interactions during this period. We don’t care much for intellectual stands if they’re devoid of a personal or heartful element, and we need intimate settings to express ourselves fully.

Venus is in Leo from June 13-July 9. Love is magnificent and grand while Venus is in Leo. We take pride in love, and we are generous with our money as well. This is a warmhearted, teasing, expressive, proud, and extravagant placement for Venus. Love is a bit of a game–a game that is perpetual, as Venus in Leo is forever stuck in the romance stage of a relationship. We feed on attention, acknowledgement, validation, and adoration.

Venus in Leo loves to be adored, pampered, and admired. Pride and passion are hallmarks of this cycle. We have a strong ego investment in our love lives during this period. The negative expression of this placement is overstating our feelings simply for the effect, as well as extravagance.

The Venus-in-Leo cycle can be a strong or profitable time for contests, lotteries, parties, recreation, drama, adornment, jewelry, costumes, art dealing, and all things golden. Generosity and warmth contribute to our ability to draw in the right resources. We can have a compelling desire to stand out, be remarkable, and feel special during this period.

Mars is in Taurus from May 18-June 28. During this cycle, we are determined, stubborn, and persistent. Mars in Taurus can be passive until provoked and is at its strongest when digging in its heels, outlasting, or defending something! In stark contrast to the impulsive Mars in Aries cycle, we tend to pursue our goals by plodding along patiently. We seek longevity and long-term satisfaction.

While Mars is in Taurus, we’re slow to change course or get started but persevering. Preferring methodical work over creative methods, we seek predictability and stability. We can be stubborn and resistant to change, and we’ll work the hardest for material security.

It’s not a time when we readily take risks. Instead, we seek concrete, long-lasting results. Our stamina is great, and our cravings and physical needs/desires are prominent, driving us towards our goals.

On Tuesday, there’s potentially magical energy for love and pleasure. We treat lovers with more tenderness or we see them in a more sensitive, obliging light. Certainly, we’re particularly open to romance and sensitive to others’ needs and backstories. We see the very best in people now, which eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships.

However, storm clouds are brewing, and on Wednesday, insecurities about not being “in the know” or fears of having the rug pulled from under our feet in our relationships can be stirring.

 

Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:

Venus in Leo Romance becomes an end in itself as a new cycle begins for you. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired – needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth.

Venus square Chiron June 12-13. Not a commitment-friendly transit. We are somewhat fearful of investing ourselves emotionally in a relationship.

Venus sextile Uranus June 15. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit.

Venus trine Neptune June 16. We perceive romantic situations as if they were “designed” just for us. A magical, romantic time. The pleasures of life are experienced fully. Romance is highly favored. We see the very best in people now, and this eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships.

Venus parallel Jupiter June 16-17. We are charitable with others and have a stronger desire than usual to find meaning in our relationships. There may be some overstating or overindulgence now, however.

Venus opposition Pluto June 17. This is a period of intense feelings, as well as possible emotional distress and tension caused by romantic troubles or social manipulation. An experience of being used or abused physically, emotionally or sexually may cause us suffering or disappointment. Sexually driven emotions are likely now. Fears of betrayal may get the best of us.

Venus parallel Uranus June 18. There can be spontaneous meetings and forward movement in our relationships. We have good instincts for future trends. We embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit. Peculiar, sudden, or avant garde attractions. This is an exciting but unstable energy. Friendship in love relationships becomes more important.

Venus parallel Mars June 23. Favors romantic and sexual relationships. Intense passions.

Venus trine Saturn June 24-25. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. A new sense of realism and maturity in existing partnerships. Relationships begun under this influence possess a distinctly practical theme, almost as if the partnership is a business endeavor, and have much potential to last.

We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit. A good time for financial undertakings involving electronics, technology, the internet, metaphysics, and the arts, as well as group activities. A taste for the offbeat is in order.

Venus trine Neptune. We are more attuned to the world of beauty, the arts, and the imagination. Compassion, harmony, kindness, and openness characterize this transit. Gentleness with others is the best way to harness this energy. This can be a “magical” time on a romantic and social level. The pleasures of life are experienced fully. We see the very best in people now, and this eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships. Romance is highly favored.

Venus opposition Pluto. An intense emotional or sexual attraction, a very revealing, intimate encounter, or a powerful desire to be close to and share our deepest feelings with someone is very likely now. Emotions and issues in a close relationship that have been brewing beneath the surface for quite awhile come to the surface at this time, possibly in a very disruptive way. All of our relationships intensify and we need to be aware of a tendency to act in a rather compulsive, demanding way towards others. This is an “all or nothing” energy. Manipulative behavior, fear of betrayal, and power struggles are possible.

JUNE 14

Tonight’s New Moon occurs in the sign of Gemini. At 10:54 PM EDT, the Moon meets the Sun, presenting us with unique opportunities to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Twins in the coming weeks. The New Moon in Gemini clears a path for new beginnings with learning, sharing, writing, speaking, and connecting. This is a time of immense potential for personal growth and self-awareness. There can be a lot to process, and we may feel that so many factors are involved that it’s challenging to make a decision. We may need to adjust expectations, as we can be see-sawing between seeing too much and too little opportunity. Our conversations or thoughts can lead us in new directions or open new paths for our projects.

The Sun’s parallel with Mercury today reinforces our emphasis on the mental plane. However, Mercury’s semi-square with Uranus this morning can point to minor erratic elements, most notably in our communications, thought processes, and outlook. We’re mentally excited but distractible. We may rush to complete something, share an idea, or communicate, but things could end up half-done if we’re impatient. We are bored with routine, which can signal a need for mental refreshment.

JUNE 15

Venus forms a sextile with Uranus today, bringing us out of our shells and encouraging our bolder, more innovative natures, socially speaking. We are most interested in all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary concerning romantic involvements, entertainment or pleasures, and financial undertakings. We may be experimenting, improvising, and trying new ways of relating to others and expressing ourselves. We could discover alternative ways to make (or spend) money. Although we can be somewhat detached, we’re freer with our feelings and find beauty in the unfamiliar or uncommon.

Further, today’s Venus-Mars quintile is excellent for seeing relating patterns and using them positively to encourage creativity and excitement. The Moon continues its transit of communicative, intelligent Gemini until 8:15 AM EDT, when it moves into shrewd, receptive Cancer.

JUNE 16

The Moon spends the day in Cancer, and we’re focusing on nurture, comfort, and familiarity. Its square to Saturn this morning can point to disappointment or temporary questioning of whether we have the time or energy to achieve our goals. However, as the day progresses, it’s a good time to reflect on memories, connect with our past in empowering ways, and cultivate protectiveness, resourcefulness, and intuition, particularly in the hours surrounding the Moon’s conjunction with Mercury and sextile to Mars this afternoon. The Cancer Moon is sensitive, cautious, shrewd, and receptive. Our minds are more receptive and alert than usual, and we may be especially curious.

With Saturn’s conjunction to Vesta today, we can feel more dedicated to our work, obligations, and commitments, as we ideally see them as purposeful activities rather than burdens. Independent work is favored, but we could also feel left to our own resources. We are more disciplined and efficient. It’s a rather dry transit on its own, as it’s isolating, tough, strict, and practical, but useful when we can use some restraint, moderation, and resolve.

However, with Venus transits today, we’re rounding our lives out nicely. Venus forms a trine to Neptune and approaches a parallel with Jupiter, inspiring good feelings and the desire to give others the benefit of the doubt. We have a stronger-than-usual desire to find meaning in our relationships. We’re easily touched and moved. There may be some overstating or overindulgence now, but our intentions are generally good. We open up to beauty and faith, and trust others before judging, preferring to cooperate rather than compete. Seeing the best in people takes the pressure off in personal relationships. We’re also inclined to glamorize objects, situations, and pleasures. It’s easier to tap into our inner spiritual wisdom and draw on compassion. We prioritize spiritual and emotional concerns over material ones at this time and won’t step over others to achieve our goals.

JUNE 17

The Moon moves into the sign of Leo at 8:05 AM EDT, stirring our need to play, express ourselves, and create. Showing confidence and backbone brings rewards with this transit. However, with today’s Venus-Pluto opposition, we’re confronting areas of our lives where we might be holding onto something too tightly for fear of losing it. Confrontations or events can bring complicated feelings and fears to a head. We may make uncomfortable discoveries now, and while some of them can ultimately help us, we may be pushing too far in search of answers. It’s best to watch for manipulative behavior arising from insecurities or fear of betrayal. It can be a time of intense feelings, some emotional distress, and struggles against, or for, control. Feelings of being used can emerge, possessiveness can be a problem, and fears of betrayal or attachment might drive our behavior. Problem areas that have been buried or operating just under the surface of things can now emerge, disrupting the flow.

The Moon hooks into this energy as it aligns with Venus and opposes Pluto almost simultaneously, and we’re especially emotionally invested in these concerns. It’s a confrontational, challenging energy, but it may also help us connect with our needs, perhaps in a convoluted way. There can be some intensity in our relationships and/or inner emotional turmoil. It may be best to avoid mind games and prioritize self-care.

JUNE 18

With the Sun and Jupiter forming a semi-sextile today, we may need to adjust our path if we find our ideals and long-term goals are at odds with what we can realistically accomplish, leaving us undecided for the time being. However, Venus forms a parallel with Uranus, which can bring spontaneous meetings, unpredictability, or forward movement in our relationships. We can have sudden attractions or changes in what we value. Today’s Leo Moon is bold, positive, and creative.

JUNE 19

The Moon continues its transit of Leo until it heads into Virgo at 10:37 AM EDT. The Leo Moon continues to encourage our need to play, express ourselves, and create. This Moon encourages our theatrical, playful, and competitive side. The Leo Moon harmonizes with Chiron just before the Moon enters Virgo, promoting healing and reconciliation. Because we’re not inclined to worry over details or rely too heavily on rationale, it’s easier to see the bigger picture.

In fact, Chiron moves into Taurus today after spending many years in the sign of Aries, though Chiron’s not quite finished with Aries! This is because Chiron will begin its retrograde at a very early point in its transit of Taurus and will head back into Aries in September. It won’t be until April 2027 when Chiron resumes its transit of Taurus consistently. Starting today, however, we get a sneak peek of this energy. While Chiron is in Taurus, we’ll be rebuilding our sense of self-worth. Sensitive points include our feelings about comfort, indulgence, money, personal belongings, and our values. We’ll learn to focus on our needs in healthy doses without feeling guilty.

Today, with the Virgo Moon from 10:37 AM onward, we gravitate toward practical activities and helping others.

JUNE 20

The Moon spends the day in Virgo, and we gravitate to practical activities and helping others. We take a greater interest in the details of our lives at this time of the lunar month. With the Sun biquintile Pluto today, we’re employing more strategic approaches. We’re creative in our problem-solving, opting for innovative solutions rather than the easiest ones.

When the Moon is in Gemini

Our basic instinct is to communicate, think, and learn under the influence of Moon in Gemini. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, spirited, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle.

The Moon in Leo speaks to our "inner child". It's a warm, generous, whole-heartedly loving position. We are easily threatened by anything that seems to be impersonal. This is a time when we seek attention--when we want to stand out for our special qualities. It's a strong time for romance and any creative activity as well.

The Moon in Leo generally favors the following activities: Creative activities, activities involving children, generous undertakings, undertakings in which personal recognition is desired, and risk-taking.

When the Moon is in Virgo

We instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice the smaller parts that make up the whole, and instead of letting nagging details bother us, we might work on ironing them out so that we can feel more confident moving ahead.
