Romance & Relationship Report
Daily Trends

The Full MOON occurs on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026, at 10:35 AM EDT.
On Wednesday morning, our feelings blossom. Full Moons are about connecting us with things we already know but aren’t acknowledging, such as buried feelings, or they bring secrets to light and projects to a turning point.
The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Leo Sun is proud and intensely individual–not content with simply being just one of the team. The Aquarius Moon, while individualistic as well, values independence and the team, community, and group spirit. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict.
When a Full Moon occurs, we can suddenly burst forth with proclamations and outpours that seem fresh and new, simply because they are not yet rationalized. In fact, a Full Moon illuminates feelings, attitudes, and circumstances that are already in existence.
This is a time of awakening to the need for others or to answer to humanitarian impulses.
This Full Moon occurs with the Sun conjunct Jupiter and the Moon conjunct Pluto (and Juno). It harmonizes with Neptune and Uranus. With this configuration, something might challenge our beliefs, motivating us to make changes and improvements. There can be a faceoff between our morals and our fears or suspicions. We can be dealing with issues of power and control, but we’re also finding creative ways to move forward.
It can be a time when we attach a higher meaning to our struggles or need an incentive to carry on our plans. Still, a desire to enjoy ourselves or grow our relationships can be motivators now. Our need for love, generosity, and affection runs high.
The Full Moon Chart:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 6 degrees and 30 minutes of Aquarius, opposite the Sun at the same degree of Leo, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 3 to 11 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.
NEXT WEEK: The next Moon phase will happen on Wednesday, August 5th, 2026, at 10:21 PM EDT, when the Last Quarter Moon will occur.

This week: The Sun is in Leo; Mercury is in Cancer; Venus is in Virgo; Mars is in Gemini.
The Sun is in Leo from July 22-August 22. In Leo, the Sun is proud, outgoing, and playful. The Leo Sun is intensely individual—not content with simply being just one of the team. It’s time to shine, add a touch of color and drama to our lives, and perform.
We’re blossoming–it’s a time when we want to enjoy ourselves and express ourselves. We are more generous and grand in our gestures and attitudes. On the shadow side, we can also be self-centered and vain.
While the Sun is in Leo, we take the high road, and we’re very often motivated by the idea of gaining respect and affection. We more naturally express joy, humor, and warmth during the Sun-in-Leo cycle. We also tend to take the lead or become the center of attention and activity.
Mercury is in Cancer from June 1-August 9 [a longer than usual transit due to Mercury’s retrograde from June 29th to July 23rd, entirely in the sign of Cancer]. When Mercury is in Cancer, we move from the desire for quantity with information to the need for quality. We think, speak, and take in information on a deeper, more instinctive level. We have less interest in what is universal and more interest in what affects us personally and the people close to us. Our thoughts are colored by our emotions, making it more challenging to be objective.
We have outstanding and detailed memories during this cycle. We’re more likely to absorb information about the emotional background or atmosphere/setting around us, picking up on moods and tones in addition to facts.
While we may not have great confidence in our ability to generate new or original ideas, we have a well-developed sense of humor and radiate warmth in our communications. We take great interest in (and notice of) personal issues and interactions during this period. We don’t care much for intellectual stands if they’re devoid of a personal or heartful element, and we need intimate settings to express ourselves fully.
Venus is in Virgo from July 9-August 6. This is a time when we express our love through practical means and gestures–running errands, doing detail work, or just being there for our lovers. Love needs to make sense and have a purpose with Venus in Virgo.
Virgo is an Earth sign, which is sensual, but Virgo is also quite practical and mental. In addition to our romantic natures, what we purchase and the types of entertainment we enjoy during this cycle are ruled by whether or not they make sense and serve a practical purpose.
We could easily feel guilty if we are too self-indulgent at this time. Rendering services to others can fill a need, and can be an expression of love. The shadow side of this position is being overly critical of our partners or relationships, picky, nervous, or worried.
During the Venus-in-Virgo cycle, we can gravitate to, and find some benefits in, holistic healing, acupuncture, yoga, and nutritional boosts. We’re keenly interested in ways to enrich our lives and boost our well-being. “Health is wealth” could be a motto now. In fact, we might enjoy health-boosting activities more than usual. Businesses promoting nutrition, wholesomeness, and well-being might prosper at this time. Commitment and attention to detail are also more prominently considered virtues now.
In love, we’re not very showy, flowery, or demonstrative. Instead, we show our love through being of service. We’re conservative with money, pleasure, and romance at this time, ready to analyze and dissect these matters. This can also be a time when helping others, particularly with good advice regarding these Venus-ruled things, can be prominent and successful. We might meet friends or lovers through our work or health-pursuits. We can take a special interest in handiwork, crafts, lists/sorting, and bookkeeping.
Mars is in Gemini from June 28-August 11. In Gemini, Mars is versatile and flexible but not especially determined or focused. We should watch for becoming so scattered that we’re ineffective. However, it’s an excellent period for diversifying our interests and understanding the power of our communications.
It’s an excellent time for strategizing and devising useful tactics to achieve our desires and goals. We’re resourceful and clever, and we know how to use words effectively.
Perhaps most notable during this period is our tactical skills. We know how to maneuver things to get our way. We use words to charm and express anger. We’re very talkative, and animatedly so, when passionate and enthusiastic about a topic.
Jupiter is in Leo.

Uranus is in Gemini.
Uranus is in Gemini from July 7th to November 7th, 2025, from April 25, 2026, to August 3, 2032, and then from December 12, 2032, to May 22, 2033. Read about Uranus in Gemini in its calendar page.

Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Virgo from July 9-August 6. This is a time when we express our love through practical means and gestures–running errands, doing detail work, or just “being there” for our lovers. Essentially, we fuss over our partners, sometimes a little too much! Our availability and accessibility is a sign of love.
Love needs to make sense and have a purpose with Venus in Virgo. Virgo is an Earth sign, which is sensual but also quite practical. We could easily feel guilty if we are too self-indulgent during this cycle. We can be a little shy and prone to worry. We pick up on many different cues, attempting to analyze every detail of our lovers’ reactions and responses. We could worry ourselves sick agonizing over details! In the process, we can miss out on the bigger and perhaps more meaningful cues.
As well, Virgo is a sign that can live very much in the mind in the middle of an experience, failing to enjoy the moment. Self-consciousness can get in the way of enjoyment. Rendering services to others can fill a need, and can be an expression of love. The shadow side of this position is being overly critical of our partners, picky, or worrisome.
This week: On Monday and Tuesday, we are more strongly aware of our relationships (or lack in the relationship department) and the pride they give us. The dissatisfaction we experience can be due to inner discontent and yearning for more appreciation from our partners. Watch for impulsiveness and impatience. Someone may be pushy or crude when we crave something more refined or subtle, or someone is being subtle when we crave a more straightforward approach.
We may express our affection sparingly, but also responsibly and in practical ways, on Wednesday, and we’re taking one another more seriously.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Virgo If it makes sense you love it, and if it doesn’t you feel guilty about it: that’s what it’s like now. A loving attention to details and a sense of satisfaction in doing what is right (especially with respect to your health) are some of the qualities that come to the fore at a time like this.
Venus sesquiquadrate Chiron July 23-24. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves.
Venus sextile Mercury July 24. Favors playfulness in love and enhanced communication between partners. Romantic overtures, expressions of love and affection, making new social contacts. This is a time when promises, pledges, and clarifications (usually very positive!) are made in love relationships.
Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto July 27. Tendencies to look for something wrong in a relationship. Jealousy raises its ugly head.
Venus semi-square the Sun July 28. Irritations that seem to stem from others could be the reflection of our own inner uneasiness. Do your best to control yearnings for more and search for a creative solution for your inner dissatisfaction.
Venus square Mars July 28-29. Passions run high under this influence. Sexual tensions and competitiveness are possible, and there can be conflicts that arise from distinct differences between romantic and sexual needs. There is an air of competitiveness under this influence, which need not be difficult. It can be stimulating, creative, passionate, and invigorating.
Venus semi-square Jupiter July 28-29. We experience a strong desire for more pleasure in our lives, which can be excessive. Take care not to overstate your feelings or to set up unrealistic expectations in your partnerships.
Venus parallel Saturn July 29. We may express our affection sparingly, but also responsibly and in practical ways. Relationships begun under this influence often feel burdensome over time, but they may last longer than most.
Venus parallel Neptune August 4. Heightened sensitivity to, and awareness of, beauty and spirituality. Psychic openness and compassion.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.
The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.
The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Saturday, July 25th, from 10:59 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Mars), until the Moon enters Capricorn the next day, Sunday, July 26th, at 9:45 AM EDT.
VOC on Tuesday, July 28th, from 2:11 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Venus), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 9:46 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Thursday, July 30th, from 5:27 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mars), until the Moon enters Pisces the next day, Friday, July 31st, at 8:14 AM EDT.

Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).
The Moon is waxing this week until the Full Moon on the 29th, which is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, although with some exceptions. After the Full Moon on the 29th, the Moon is waning.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week from Monday, the 27th, at approximately 9:15 PM EDT, until Tuesday, the 28th, at approximately 2:05 AM EDT, while the Moon is in Capricorn.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
![]()
![]()
Mars sesquiquadrature Pluto. Our desires are intense and difficult to satisfy under this influence. A tendency to bully and confront may dominate. Efforts to make changes could be thwarted, or power struggles emerge. The trick is to remain flexible and to develop strategies for achieving our goals.
![]()
![]()
Sun opposition Pluto. The Sun in dynamic aspect to Pluto suggests willfulness and dealing with issues of power and competition. We may feel on edge, volatile, or even threatened. In extreme cases, infantile rage is possible. There is an inner drama taking place now, and a feeling that external circumstances are undermining our own feeling of powerfulness. In the process, we may be able to get in touch with our internal motivations. A tendency to want to control our lives through some form of manipulation is strong during this influence. Meeting with obstacles in our paths, however, can force us into the position of using all of our resources to fight back, and we can discover resources we never knew we had in the process.
![]()
![]()
Sun trine Neptune. We’re at the right place at the right time, probably because our hunches are more likely to be correct and we are “tuned in”. We are inspired, and charitable acts now will serve to lift our spirits like no drug can. A good time for self-improvement programs or efforts. Instinctual judgment is enhanced under this influence. We are able to see matters, and people, from a different perspective–one that allows for, and even finds beauty in, differences.
![]()
![]()
Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto. This influence can point to some underlying tensions in social interactions (looking for an ulterior motive and suspiciousness) and relationships (possible jealousies). Passions run hot, but there’s a hidden agenda. Feelings of jealousy and possessiveness can be brewing just under the surface of things, and they are in direct proportion to our fear of losing something or someone dear to us. Avoid starting a new relationship at this time, because it can be characterized by these energies. Sometimes, this transit correlates with heartbreak, feelings of unreciprocated love, or romantic disappointment. Often, financial matters come to the fore. Manipulation can color relationships now. Avoid power plays with friends and lovers.
![]()
![]()
Sun sextile Uranus. We are willing to adapt to new circumstances, ideas, and unfamiliar situations. It’s a good time to join organizations and groups and to attend meetings or social events, as these can be enlightening. We can find creative solutions to problems now and effect positive changes. Flexibility is the key to success under this influence.

![]()
Venus semi-square Sun. Inner discontent can spill over into our relationships, producing subtle tension. It’s best to get in touch with our needs and yearnings instead of overindulging or procrastinating.

![]()
Venus square Mars. Passions run high under this influence. Sexual tensions and competitiveness are possible, and there can be conflicts that arise from differences between romantic and sexual needs. Be wary of making impulse purchases. There is an air of competitiveness under this influence, which need not be difficult. It can be stimulating, creative, and invigorating.
![]()
![]()
Sun semi-square Mars. Circumstances spur us into action. Aggressiveness and conflicts are possible now. As long as we channel the excess energy constructively, instead of wasting our time arguing, we can accomplish much. We may have “spring fever” now, no matter what the season! We could find ourselves driven by a restless desire to do something; but without a well-defined goal, we tend towards impulsive actions and get ourselves into needless arguments.
![]()
![]()
Venus semi-square Jupiter. We might take great strides to get noticed. Avoid impulsive buying. Problems in our personal life likely won’t get resolved under this influence. Avoid hasty (or haughty!) decisions. We might overstate our feelings or promise more than we can deliver, and the tendency to overdo is strong.
![]()
![]()
Sun conjunct Jupiter. Vitality increases as we build our confidence. We feel more generous, optimistic, and sociable under this influence. We might hunger for increased recognition and respect, and, with our generous attitude and concern for others’ well-being, we might just get what we want. This is a good time to take steps to grow something–our business, our significant relationships, and so forth. This transit also favors legal, educational, religious, and cultural endeavors.
![]()
![]()
Mars semi-square Jupiter. Although we may have much enthusiasm for life and for new projects, over-confidence and over-estimation of what we can do is likely. We are ready and willing to fight for our beliefs. We may be excitable and competitive. Jumping ahead without considering the consequences can be costly.
![]()
![]()
Mercury semi-square Uranus. We can have flashes of insight, but tend to be scatterbrained. Our ideas and communications may not be well-received because they don’t seem to others to carry weight. Our minds are not peaceful or harmonious under this influence, and irritable tempers, sarcastic speech, and dogmatism are negative expressions of this energy.

JULY 26
Mars forms a sesquiquadrate with Pluto, and the Sun heads into opposition to Pluto, bringing intense energy to the day. We can have a deeper investment in outcomes, and there can be tensions if we don’t get our way. There may be some pressure to perform or address problem areas. The Sun-Pluto opposition can bring to the surface deep, dark, or buried and unresolved matters. Through feelings, relationships, and events, we can gain a clearer understanding of areas of life where we’ve been holding onto something too tightly or giving away our personal power. This can be disruptive and uncomfortable, but it can also lead to significant personal growth and heightened self-awareness.
A tricky or buried issue might now reach a head. We may feel on edge, volatile, or defensive. There can be inner drama or external circumstances that undermine our perception of our power. We may experience a battle within ourselves between light and dark energies, or we can meet this theme through others. Outside forces remind us of our need to take charge of our lives, but shortcuts to gaining control are unlikely to yield lasting results. Instead, we should formulate strategies for managing our fears or worries. These transits present an opportunity for us to overcome Pluto-related worries, concerns, and challenges, and achieve positive outcomes.
Also today, Saturn stations and turns retrograde. This retrograde cycle will continue until December 10th. We may feel a sense of heaviness with decisions or concerns as this shift occurs. While Saturn is retrograde in the months ahead, we review and question our responsibilities and commitments instead of dealing with them in the moment or proactively. We may experience more than usual feelings of guilt and self-doubt as we internalize fears, but it is also an excellent opportunity to reassess our commitments.
The True North Node enters Aquarius today, beginning a new cycle that will last over a year and a half–until March 2028. While the North Node of the Moon transits the sign of Aquarius, it’s a time to embrace our humanitarian, community-oriented, and forward-looking nature. If we’ve found ourselves too attached to the drama of romance and personal relationships or perhaps willful and overly focused on getting what we want, this is a strong cycle for correcting the imbalance. In fact, benefits come to us as we do so. It’s a powerful time to cultivate sensitivity to the needs of others. Our path is learning to be more impartial and less possessive in relationships and with creative projects, if needed. As we learn to let go of the need for a passionate chase, satisfaction will come. This is a time during which we should solve problems that require thinking “outside of the box” and looking to the future with a brand new, positive, and hopeful vision. It’s a meaningful cycle for contributing to our community and working towards the common good.
The Moon continues its void period today until the Moon enters Capricorn today at 9:45 AM EDT.
JULY 27
The Sun completes its opposition to Pluto very early today, and then forms a trine with Neptune this morning. We’re sorting out what’s true and real from what’s superficial. It’s a good time to work on building our trust and faith. We see the spiritual dimensions or imaginative elements of our pursuits. Transits have just brought buried and unresolved matters to the surface. The Sun-Neptune trine now encourages us to let go and let things flow. This transit brings a fluid, graceful energy to our lives. We readily access our intuition, and we can be moved to help, support, or give of ourselves. We would do well to de-emphasize some of our material concerns or interests, at least temporarily. We see people and life itself from a different perspective, one that not only allows for but finds beauty in differences.
Also today, the Sun sextiles Uranus, which brings a theme of progress and betterment. This transit stirs our willingness to adapt to new circumstances, ideas, and unfamiliar situations. Spirits are high, and we’re excited about change. At the same time, we can find ourselves just detached enough from some of our concerns that we express and enjoy ourselves more fully. Group connections can be enlightening, although we’re also ready to break from the crowd to do our own thing. We’ll do the best for ourselves if we embrace flexibility and innovation. Unusual sources of inspiration can be in the spotlight, and we respond well to surprises. We might arrive at creative solutions to problems and make improvements now.
JULY 28
The Sun forms a semi-square with Venus, and we head toward a Venus-Mars square. The Sun will soon be semi-square Mars as well, as the Sun is at the midpoint of this square. Jupiter will soon also be involved!
We can be especially sensitive to imbalances in our environment and relationships, but we’re also seeking more color in our lives now. There’s a tendency to go overboard in seeking others’ appreciation or approval. Our current approach and what we think we should do are at odds, and we may not be very productive or decisive in this situation. Our powers of attraction and desire natures are strong but problematic or disruptive. It’s not easy to get fully comfortable or relaxed under these influences. Controversies are likely. There can be playful moments, but some misunderstandings are involved.
Venus forms a square to Mars this morning, and competitive energy is with us. The conflict between these two planets can produce tension or dissatisfaction. It can awaken different urges and desires, but they may only be whims or distractions.
Disagreements are possible as differences and contrasts stand out more than usual. A passive or soft approach may irritate, but an aggressive approach can also be grating–we seem to have poor timing. We can be temperamental and especially sensitive. What we value and what we desire can also be at odds.
Ideally, discontent prompts creative improvements and changes. We should be cautious about making impulsive purchases and decisions about our relationships under these conditions. However, this is a time to tap into our creativity and find unique solutions for our dissatisfaction. It’s best to stay in touch with our needs and watch for signs of overindulging or procrastinating.
The Moon is void from 2:11 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Venus), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 9:46 PM EDT.
JULY 29
The Sun aligns with Jupiter this morning, with both bodies near the midpoint of the Venus-Mars square, igniting a strong desire for growth, improvement, and expansion. We’re enterprising and positive, filled with renewed joy, faith, and optimism.
This is a time of discovery, where we’re more motivated to give than receive. Our vitality soars as we build our confidence. We value integrity and wisdom, and this influence can motivate us to seek more recognition and respect. The Sun-Jupiter transit favors reasonable endeavors in various areas of life, including legal, educational, religious, financial, and cultural matters. At this time, we attract luck and rich life experiences by nurturing our special people and projects, fostering a strong sense of safety, warm feelings of familiarity and inclusion, and taking care of or expanding our domestic worlds, all while focusing on our long-term security.
With some tendency to overdo and overreach, we should watch for split-second decisions today. It’s undoubtedly a creative, dynamic, and exciting time, and impulsiveness and perhaps haughtiness are possible. As such, we should resist pressure to act too soon. If we have unfinished business, we can feel impatient or restless now. It’s best to remember the importance of patience and strategic thinking at this time.
A Full Moon also occurs this morning in the sign of Aquarius at 10:35 AM EDT. This is a time of awakening to the need for others or to answer to humanitarian impulses. This Full Moon occurs with the Sun conjunct Jupiter and the Moon conjunct Pluto and Juno, and it harmonizes with Neptune and Uranus.
This Full Moon marks a time of culmination. The Leo Sun is proud and intensely individual, not content with being just one of the team. The Aquarius Moon, while also individualistic, values independence and the team, community, and group spirit. With the Leo Sun in opposition to the Aquarius Moon, the Full Moon shines a light on this conflict. When a Full Moon occurs, it can lead to proclamations and outpourings that are raw. It also brings to light feelings, attitudes, and circumstances that have been buried or overlooked.
JULY 30
Mars forms a sextile with Pallas, and we have the courage and energy to back up our beliefs. The Moon spends all day in the sign of Aquarius, harmonizing with Saturn, Pallas, Mars, Vesta, and Ceres, and creating easy energy for feeling confident and supported enough to pursue our desires. We’re also more understanding of one another. We can be quite enthusiastic and hopeful, playing with exciting ideas and making plans. This Moon transit encourages us to seek out intellectual stimulation and unusual or unconventional experiences. It’s a good time to connect with our initiative and independence. We are more in tune with our instincts and less demanding of people around us. We also notice and appreciate the more unique elements of people, situations, and projects today.
The Moon is void from 5:27 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mars), until the Moon enters Pisces the next day, Friday, July 31st, at 8:14 AM EDT.
JULY 31
The Moon continues its transit of Aquarius until 8:14 AM EDT when it heads into Pisces. The Pisces Moon tends to encourage decompressing, winding down, and tapping into our intuition. However, its square to Uranus this afternoon can spark our need for emotional freedom and stir up stubbornness or rebellion. With this transit, limitations are harder to take than usual. Today’s Vesta-Ceres aspect may give us a sense of mission. It can motivate us to grow and improve a business or long-term project. We may want to get work done with or for loved ones or the home.
The Moon continues its void period until the Moon enters Pisces today at 8:14 AM EDT.
AUGUST 1
Mercury’s semi-square with Uranus this morning can point to minor erratic elements, most notably in our communications, thought processes, and outlook. We’re mentally excited but distractible. We may rush to complete something, share an idea, or communicate, but things could end up half-done if we’re impatient. We are bored with routine, which can signal a need for mental refreshment. Otherwise, the Moon in Pisces all day is accepting, compassionate, and creative. The Moon’s trine to Mercury tonight inclines us to make something of our feelings through conversation or musings. While we tend to need some space, we’re also ready to learn, share, and exchange ideas.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
![]()
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
When the Moon is in Capricorn
![]()
We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.
The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
When the Moon is in Aquarius
![]()
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
When the Moon is in Pisces
![]()
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.

THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Leo “This I do for me” is your motto at a time like this. This is your time to shine, like a swirl of starstuff that has finally reached critical mass and suddenly starts to give off more light than it receives. Issues of pride, mastery, and appreciation become more and more central to your lifestream as this cycle progresses, as does a very important lesson: it’s not what you do so much as how you do it, not who you are so much as how you make others feel about themselves. If it doesn’t come from the heart, it shouldn’t matter now.
Mercury in Cancer Gut-level is the way you think, speak, and perceive in the cycle you have just begun. You aren’t interested in the superficial; instead, you want to get right to the root of things. You don’t care about the universal, only about how things impact you and yours. Intellect and emotion mix to the point of inseparability.
Venus in Virgo If it makes sense you love it, and if it doesn’t you feel guilty about it: that’s what it’s like now. A loving attention to details and a sense of satisfaction in doing what is right (especially with respect to your health) are some of the qualities that come to the fore at a time like this.
Mars in Gemini Learning, communicating, the exchange of ideas: these are the experiences you crave as a means to make your mark now, as a new phase begins in your life. You’re a person with something to say, and you realize that others have information that is essential to your goals. A time of much mental energy and initiative … perhaps with an element of conflict tossed in for good measure.
Jupiter in Leo High drama, big romance, a creative bonanza: this is the stuff dreams are made of now. The world is your stage, the spotlight is your goal, and the love and appreciation of others is the air you breathe. Children, lovers, admirers: these are the people who figure large in your life as this cycle progresses. A willingness to gamble on the future.
Saturn in Aries Self-discipline and a sense of self-worth become important issues in your life as a new phase begins for you. A fear of asserting yourself can hold you back – as can coming on too strong. The trick is learning to make the most of your personal talents and abilities, working within your limitations instead of feeling hemmed in by them.
Uranus in Gemini New ideas, new input, and new ways of exchanging these things with others – all these and more become increasingly important factor in your life now, as you enter into a new phase. This is a period of enhanced mental activity, a nonstop stream of consciousness, of trying out new concepts and perspectives.
Neptune in Aries The frontier spirit is alive and well as a new cycle dawns in your life. Independence and originality take on a kind of primal importance for you; you tend to put these qualities on a pedestal, above all else. Fresh starts, new possibilities … these are the visions that light a spark in your soul. But what of the weak, the ones who aren’t free, the ones who get left behind?
Pluto in Aquarius Reform, revolution, a rejection of the past and a focus on the future: these are the signatures of the new phase now beginning in your life. Tradition becomes irrelevant, and the conventional wisdom is revealed as dogma or outright nonsense – and what’s the difference, really? Radical changes in all things social and intellectual.

Last Quarter Moon
The Last Quarter MOON occurs on Wednesday, August 5th, 2026, at 10:21 PM EDT.
On Wednesday night, the Last Quarter Moon occurs as the Sun in Leo forms a square with the Moon in Taurus.
The Last Quarter Moon phase points to a crisis of consciousness. After basking in the awareness symbolized by the full light of the Moon at the time of last week’s Full Moon, we disperse our knowledge and come to a point when we need to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon when something new is born once again.
It’s not an ideal time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes descent into unconsciousness. It is, however, time to begin finishing up the details of what was conceived at the last New Moon. We might consider recent revelations, what they mean to us, and what we might do about them.
The Last Quarter Moon Chart:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 13 degrees and 40 minutes of Taurus, square the Sun at the same degree of Leo, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 12 to 16 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.
NEXT WEEK: The next Moon phase will happen on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026, at 1:36 PM EDT, when the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo will occur.

(Times are Eastern)
This week: The Sun is in Leo; Mercury is in Cancer; Venus is in Virgo to the 6th, when it enters Libra; Mars is in Gemini.
Venus is in Libra from August 6-September 10, and later, from October 25-December 4 [this is longer than usual and in two steps due to an upcoming retrograde Venus cycle from October 3-November 13]. We favor charm over assertiveness to get what we want during this cycle. Usually quite willing to negotiate and compromise, we can be very obliging with others. We’re also very idealistic about love, and we seek intellectual peers. Although Venus in Libra is very relationship-focused, there is an air of cool detachment to this energy. We prefer things are done the “right” way, and aggressive or uncouth behavior turns us off.
The shadow expression of this position includes over-dependence and superficiality. To avoid unpleasant situations, we could easily gloss over deeper issues at play in our relationships. It’s probably best to avoid the trap of acquiescing to partners while privately resenting the fact or thinking ourselves martyrs for doing so.
While Venus is in Libra, we are more artistically inclined or seek balance in our personal environment. This cycle is excellent for promoting cooperation, harmony, mutually beneficial connections, and fairness. We are gentle but firm, and we’re skilled at mediation.
We’re more likely to prosper during this cycle in partnership, through one-to-one associations, such as counseling, or in fields related to harmony, relationships, beauty, design, and the law. We’re not fond of out-and-out competition or aggressive pursuit, preferring win-win situations, hands down. We attract things to us and appeal to others gently and kindly. Equality and politeness are important now, and we despise hurting others’ feelings.

Equality and politeness are important now, and we despise hurting others’ feelings.
This week: On Tuesday, we are more psychically open and compassionate with others.
Somewhat awkward energy for love and connection is with us on Friday, and we can feel on the fence or undecided. It’s not an ideal time for a full-on expression of feelings. Some pulling back can occur in relationships now, as we are more self-conscious with our affections.
Venus in Libra As this new cycle takes hold in your life, romance and social interaction take on a greater importance for you. Harmonious ties to others are what you yearn for; refinement and elegance are what you seek. The ideal partnership, the perfect balance, the highest standards of truth and beauty – these are some of the things that quicken your pulse now.
Venus quincunx Chiron August 7. There may be vague feelings of discontent in relationships; or a choice that needs to be made regarding personal relationships, money, or possessions. Insecurity involving others might make it awkward for us to express our affections naturally or flowingly.
Venus trine Pluto August 10. Powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships. New insights into relationships and love. Strong attractions. Relationships are intense and deep, but not draining.
Venus opposition Neptune August 10. Not a good time to start a new relationship, which could be characterized by disappointments, and the tendency to feel emotionally (and sometimes financially) drained by the partner. Uncertainties about existing love.
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, August 2nd, from 8:33 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Venus), until the Moon enters Aries at 4:37 PM EDT.
VOC on Tuesday, August 4th, from 2:52 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mars), until the Moon enters Taurus at 10:36 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Thursday, August 6th, from 7:25 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mercury), until the Moon enters Gemini the next day, Friday, August 7th, at 2:08 AM EDT.

The Moon is waning this week, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, although with some exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week from

AUGUST 2
The Pisces Moon until 4:37 PM EDT today is tolerant, agreeable, and mellow. Still, around the Moon’s square to Mars this morning, we can be more impulsive, firing up our feelings and stirring us into action, although possibly also prompting some missteps. Rising desires to learn, share, and explore can seem to interfere with the calm or Zen we’re trying to achieve. From 4:37 PM onward, the Moon is in Aries, and it’s considerably more assertive and decisive than Pisces. It’s a fiery, sometimes impatient, and pioneering position of the Moon. We seek a fresh start now, and we’re quick to let go of the past. Preferring to be first, we don’t take instruction easily with the Moon in Aries.
The Moon is void from 8:33 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Venus), until the Moon enters Aries at 4:37 PM EDT.
AUGUST 3
Today, Chiron begins its retrograde cycle, which will last until January 6th. This period is a potent time for introspection and evaluating our mental and physical health programs. While the initial station today can be disorienting and lead to indecision as we adapt to the shift, with patience and understanding, this Chiron retrograde period in Taurus and later in Aries is one of beneficial reassessment. Note that this year, Chiron begins its retrograde early in the sign of Taurus, and later retreats into Aries for a final dip (Chiron will re-enter Taurus next April).
Today’s Aries Moon is busy, aligning with Neptune and later Saturn, and harmonizing with Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, and the Sun. It’s a time of buckling down, but also of increasing opportunities. We want to start fresh, and we’re less interested in the past than in what will work for us today and going forward. While we want to be the first to discover new things, we can benefit from sharing some time — and ideas — with others.
AUGUST 4

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Pisces
![]()
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
When the Moon is in Aries
![]()
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
