2019: Libra Horoscope: Love, Career, & General Trends
The year 2019 brings fantastic energy for learning, connecting, studying, and sharing, dear Libra. It’s a time of new interests and motivating communications. New channels for communicating and getting around can open up to you. There is more to do with reworking and renovating your home life or family relationships this year, and by December, you’ll find much to enjoy in so doing. In fact, you’re embarking on a powerful period for making improvements to your personal life. Until then, you have skills to develop and ideas that inspire and excite you, and you’re likely to enjoy a busy pace.
Uranus leaves behind your partnership sector for good after spending seven years there, and now more permanently moves into your intimacy sector. Unexpected events and feelings are stimulated regarding your intimate life, financial life, and support. On some level, you’re seeking more freedom with your sexuality, in your relationships, and regarding support. Your values are changing as you detach yourself from certain connections in your life that you previously thought little about. Changing circumstances may contribute to this new philosophy of life, or a new mindset or approach leads to changes in your life regarding your attachments.
With the North Node of the Moon transiting the top of your solar chart in the sign of Cancer, you’re receiving some strong encouragement to attend to your professional life with more emotional openness, heart, and nurture or care. It’s a time for establishing a better work-home balance. This is a period for putting yourself out there more often, even if this is not your natural inclination at this point in your life’s journey. Pushing yourself just a little out of your comfort zone can pleasantly surprise you now.
This is a powerful period for putting more confidence in your studies and learning. You’re connecting more easily with others this year. Your mindset is especially positive, and this opens up new opportunities for you. There’s more curiosity, movement, and liveliness in your daily life in 2019. Do watch for overextending yourself by taking on too much work or too many personal interests, as optimistic as you are that you can handle it all! Too much of even a good thing can become burdensome. With Jupiter square Neptune this year, it’s a good exercise to remind yourself of your normal or usual boundaries and limits to check in with whether you may be pushing too far.
Your work and home life are likely to combine in both magical and practical ways this year as they’re connected via a Saturn-Neptune sextile for most of 2019. This can be a good time for working from (or on) the home for some of you, or family motivates or supports your work more than usual, for example. Your dreams are big, but you’re also keeping your feet on the ground.
Even more focus on your domestic world — and constructive attention at that — is in store from December forward. You’re entering a power period for straightening out your home life, family, personal life, or living conditions, and it feels especially good, rewarding, and satisfying to do so. Until then, it can be immensely useful to work on problem areas and compulsive or automatic behaviors that are keeping you from thriving, and 2019 is particularly good about getting you to confront them. With so much activity at the bottommost part of your solar chart, you may be a little too insular or focused on your inner world and personal life, and sometimes you need to pull away from it just a little to gain perspective. That’s what the North Node in your career sector is encouraging you to do.
Key Events in 2019 for Libra:
Outer Planet Transits:
Jupiter square Neptune from January to September. We are looking for new sources of inspiration, but we have the tendency to latch onto impractical dreams or plans to remedy the situation. For you, Libra, uncertainties or disorganization related to your daily life, work, or health can seem to interfere with your pursuit of studies, personal interests, and connections with others. You may be taking on too much, or you may need to prioritize so that you can take better advantage of writing, connecting, learning, and communicating opportunities that arise this year.
Helping you out with this, however, is:
Saturn sextile Neptune from January to November. This reinforcing aspect assists in grounding us. It can be a fabulous help, even if it’s a rather subtle influence. This aspect reminds you to balance spiritual and material pursuits. While there continue to be important life lessons, restrictions, and hard work related to your home, family, and personal life this year as Saturn transits your solar fourth house, you’re finding outlets for any stress or tension in these areas or a better sense of balance now with this Saturn-Neptune transit. You can better compartmentalize and balance work and home life.
Also this year:
Saturn conjunct South Node (April to September) and Pluto conjunct South Node (April). Difficulties are possible related to attempts to hang on to old habits, safe or familiar situations, or intense or demanding relationships or projects that may be preventing you from growing, improving, and thriving in your career or in the outside world. Try not to hide away. You may be sticking with the familiar only for fear of change, and this is a tendency you should watch.
Uranus trine Jupiter in December. This happens near the end of the year in Earth signs. In your solar chart, we find Earth signs in your soul and emotional sectors, and the major benefits of this aspect come to your intimate relationships and inner world. It’s about innovation, progress, new technology, methods, or approaches, and it’s a positive development!
There can be a powerful and freeing release from an emotional burden or a family affair that helps you to move forward. You can be excited about making changes and improvements in your home or family unit. Thinking in terms of innovation, new technologies and methods, and upgrades can be helpful. This can be a good time for financial support. For some of you, an intimate relationship is exciting but also contributes to a feeling of being supported. Letting go of old family conditioning or unhealthy ties to the past are themes. You may be feeling especially excited and hopeful about new developments on an emotional level. Relationships with family may be renewed or reinvigorated.
Significant minor transits:
Venus conjunct Jupiter — twice! On January 22 and November 24th…and this happens in your communications sector both times, making this a special time for connecting, sharing, and learning.
Mars conjunct Uranus in late Aries on February 12-13. This occurs shortly before Uranus leaves your partnership sector for good, making it a powerful period for moving on from an unstable period related to your relationships.
Sun conjunct Uranus in early Taurus on April 22 and Venus conjunct Uranus in Taurus on May 18. Now that Uranus is consistently in your intimacy sector, these transits can get the ball rolling with change and progress related to your intimate life, sexuality, or financial life.
Sun conjunct Jupiter in Capricorn on December 25-27th. An opportunity period for home, family, and personal life.
New and Full Moons/Eclipses:
Please note that these key dates are synopses — quick summaries of astro-events — that are covered more in-depth in the monthly horoscopes and daily horoscopes.

Every year, we see challenges and opportunities in different areas. It’s my hope that understanding these areas of potential disruption and ease that you can make the most of these trends by seeking out the opportunities and managing the challenges.
The following chart shows the outer planets and other points in relation to your sign, revealing whether they are harmonizing (green) with or challenging (pink) Libra:
Grey is neutral (no direct relationship, but can be picky, nagging),
Pink is challenging (the planet is in direct, challenging relationship to your sign),
and Green is easy and supportive (the planet or point is in direct, harmonious relationship with your sign).
As is evident in the above chart, we see more challenges than neutral and harmonious. Jupiter’s harmony is especially nice, however, helping to smooth over rough edges and keep your mindset positive.
