Daily Trends
The FULL MOON occurs on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 10:35 PM EDT.
The Full Moon occurs on Tuesday when the Sun in Aries forms an opposition to the Libra Moon. It’s a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of something begun at the New Moon. Heightened emotions, romance, fertilization, relationship drama, and epiphanies are themes.
The Aries-Libra polarity is a relationship axis, where Aries represents “self,” and Libra represents “other.” Where Aries is about self-assertion, Libra is about compromise. With the Libra Moon, we’re especially aware of our need for relationships and all that comes with maintaining them — compromising, negotiating, graciousness, and balancing. The Aries Sun, on the other hand, is self-assertive, leading, and personally courageous.
This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between meeting our personal needs and attending to the needs of a significant other, and between independence or autonomy and dependence or companionability. The Libra Moon is diplomatic, equality-focused, and fair-minded. The Aries Sun values authenticity over tact and is energized by independent efforts. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict.
Relationship epiphanies occur now. We’re likely to experience revelations about our independence, need for others, and partnerships. A Mars-Uranus square has just occurred when the Moon reaches full, and through unpredictable events, changes, and conflict, we are made especially aware of our need for others. Mars-Uranus is divisive, but an applying Venus-Mars trine suggests we’re finding creative ways to relate and unite. Interestingly, Venus rules the Libra Moon, and Mars rules the Aries Sun, and their harmony is especially helpful for resolving conflicts, particularly through conversation and fair-mindedness.

This phase of the Moon occurs at 18 degrees and 44 minutes of Libra opposition the Sun at 18 degrees and 44 minutes of Aries, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 15 to 23 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

This week: The Sun is in Aries; Mercury is in Pisces until April 11th when Mercury enters Aries; Venus is in Gemini; Mars is in Aquarius.
The Sun is in Aries from March 19/20-April 19. In Aries, the Sun is enthusiastic and spontaneous. We are motivated by the desire to conquer. We are more impulsive, and have the urge to initiate. Aries is a sign that bounces back quickly–there is little shame with Aries. It is brave and pioneering, and somewhat innocent. We are direct and rather uncomplicated in our needs, but we can also be short-sighted and lack the desire to plan ahead.
Mercury is in Pisces from February 3-March 4 and then March 16-April 11. When Mercury is in Pisces, our thinking processes are more visual, intuitive, and imaginative. We are especially attuned to the world of emotion, which colors both our thoughts and our communication style. We guess well, express ourselves with imagery, and make decisions intuitively. We are more attracted to consciousness-raising information.
Mercury is in Aries from April 11-27. When Mercury is in Aries, we are less concerned with objective viewpoints and explanations, and more concerned with reaching a decision…quickly! Our thoughts and ideas are pioneering, and we tend to speak more spontaneously and directly with the planet of communication in bold and assertive Aries.
Venus is in Gemini from April 3-August 7. In Gemini, we have a finger in every pie. Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels. “Variety is the spice of life” is the attitude now. We are sociable, communicative, and interested. We can be animated and fun but may also keep our distance on an emotional level. Attractions now may begin with words, as we tend to bond more readily on a mental level with Venus in Gemini. The shadow side of Gemini is fickleness.
Mars is in Aquarius from March 30-May 13. Dynamic yet erratic energy levels, achieving our goals through hit or miss tactics, and impersonal expression of anger are characteristics of Mars in Aquarius. We are team players–cooperative and less concerned about personal power. We are attracted to unconventional methods, and tend to approach problems from an intellectual, detached perspective.
Jupiter entered Capricorn on December 2nd, 2019, and will transit the sign until December 19th, 2020. Read more about the Jupiter in Capricorn transit.
In 2020, Saturn divides its time between the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. Saturn transits Capricorn until March 21, 2020; and then finishes up its transit from July 1 to December 17, 2020. Read about Saturn’s transit through Capricorn here. Saturn transits Aquarius from March 21 to July, 1, 2020, and then later, from December 17, 2020, to March 7, 2023.
Uranus is in Taurus. Uranus first transited Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and is now consistently in the sign (since March 6th, 2019) until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn how to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. We’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle. There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Gemini from April 3-August 7. In Gemini, Venus is communicative, sociable but emotionally aloof, insatiably curious, and a little bit flighty. Fickleness with our affections is a strong possibility, but the desire for a meeting of minds is strong and the urge to socialize dominates. Some detachment from our emotions is likely, which may be a breath of fresh air for some. The lines of communication open, although we may only scratch the surface of things. Under this influence, love is playful and lighthearted. Fickleness is the shadow side of Venus in Gemini.
This week: On Wednesday, we can be especially sensitive to social cues that seem off or to imbalances in our interactions. We can be especially hungry for others’ appreciation, too. Hypersensitivity to social cues can mean what we do or don’t do now can be taken quite personally or bruise egos. On Friday, our hearts open, and we’re open to more intimacy and vulnerability through love or romance.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Gemini Saying (or writing) it with style comes naturally now. A yen for variety is a hallmark of this phase, and this especially applies to romantic experience and artistic tastes. (The latter tends to focus on literature in general and poetry in particular.) A sociable, congenial, slightly frivolous orientation sets in.
Venus trine Saturn April 3-4. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. A new sense of realism and maturity in existing partnerships. Relationships begun under this influence possess a distinctly practical theme, almost as if the partnership is a business endeavor, and have much potential to last.
Venus semi-square the Sun April 8. Inner discontent can spill over into our relationships, producing subtle tension. It’s best to get in touch with our needs and avoid overindulging or procrastinating.
Venus sextile Chiron April 10. Love has the power to heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings and more willing to act upon them.
Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto April 14-15. Tendencies to look for something wrong in a relationship. Jealousy raises its ugly head.
Venus sesquiquadrate Jupiter April 16-17. We experience a strong desire for more pleasure in our lives, which can be excessive. Take care not to overstate your feelings or to set up unrealistic expectations in your partnerships.
Venus sextile Mercury April 17-18. Favors playfulness in love and enhanced communication between partners. Romantic overtures, expressions of love and affection, making new social contacts. This is a time when promises, pledges, and clarifications (usually very positive!) are made in love relationships.
Venus sesquiquadrate Saturn April 25. Feelings of isolation, of not getting what we really want, and of not being loved the way we want to be loved can get in the way of pleasant relations with our partners.
Venus semi-square Mercury April 28-29. Communications between lovers may feel superficial or unsatisfying, and perhaps awkward. We may be especially sensitive to what’s being communicated now.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, April 6th, from 9:29 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Libra at 5:16 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, April 8th, from 8:50 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 4:17 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, April 10th, from 3:35 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 4:35 PM EDT.

Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
The Moon is waxing this week until the Full Moon on the 7th, which is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, with exceptions. After the Full Moon on the 7th, the Moon is waning, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, also with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details).
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs on Monday, April 6th, from approximately 6:50 AM to 9:25 AM EDT, when the Moon is in Virgo. Another window occurs from Thursday, April 9th, at approximately 11:40 PM EDT, until Friday, April 10th, at approximately 3:30 PM EDT, while the Moon is in Scorpio. The next window after this one will occur on the morning of the 12th.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Mars semi-square Neptune. Disorganization, lack of drive, lack of forethought, impracticality, and carelessness. Energy and time are too easily wasted. Passive-aggressiveness. It’s hard to know what we want and where we’re headed under this influence.
Mars square Uranus. We have a tendency to take risks, to feel restless, and to act on sudden impulses without considering consequences. We assert our wills and individuality powerfully, and we are willing to fight for freedom. We might feel rebellious in the face of rules and regulations, particularly those we might feel are outdated, or anything that requires us to conform. There may be changes in work schedules, or life’s circumstances could challenge us in such a way that we need to change our goals or actions. Energy is stop and go, and it can be hard to focus on only one activity.
Mercury sextile Pluto. We possess more insight and psychological understanding than usual. We are willing to look beyond the surface of things and investigate further. Perhaps more importantly, we are more patient and strategic in our decision-making.
Mercury sextile Jupiter. Positive thinking, new insights, and cooperation are themes now. This influence favors short trips, writing, teaching, studying, submitting applications and forms, test taking, and making diagnoses and observations. This is a time when we more readily exercise good judgment, take a more philosophical approach to thinking, and are more open to learning.
Mars sextile Chiron. We may have the opportunity to take the lead, or to take action, regarding matters that lead to healing, cleansing, or teaching now. We can feel a sense of mission. There is likely to be a feeling of fearlessness when it comes to addressing problem areas, and self-confidence as well. There is a drive to take positive action, usually to defend or help others (or ourselves). It’s a strong period for cooperation and purposeful activity.
Venus semi-square Sun. Inner discontent can spill over into our relationships, producing subtle tension. It’s best to get in touch with our needs and yearnings instead of overindulging or procastinating.
Venus sextile Chiron. We have the chance to heal our personal relationships now, as we are more open to intimacy and commitment, as well as learning from one another. We more easily see beauty in human weaknesses. It’s a strong time for building trust in relationships.
Mercury sextile Saturn. A good time to get organized, to do detail work, and to prepare for the future. Decisions made now tend to be practical and well thought out. Work done now will have tangible results in the future.

APRIL 5
The Moon spends the day in the practical workhorse sign of Virgo. We generally seek to bring more order to our lives and to be of service or help to others under this influence. However, the Virgo Moon forms no major aspects to the major planets after the early day, and it can feel rather undirected or in limbo. As well, we’re heading towards a minor challenge with a Mars-Neptune semisquare occurring very early tomorrow and influencing today. As such, we can feel a bit winded now, and this feels more dramatic after yesterday’s motivating and grounding influences. However, it’s temporary. Seeing holes or losing some confidence in our plans, desires, and pursuits can be more of a symptom of the need for a bit of inspiration or a well-deserved break than it is a sign that the plans are lacking. Of course, if there are flaws, adjustments may be necessary. Otherwise, we may need to rest or recuperate before pressing forward.
APRIL 6
With the Chiron-Vesta sextile this morning, there can be a commitment made to working through challenging problems. It’s a time for tapping into our inner genius or personal potential and putting it to work for us. We can be determined to take better care of ourselves, and discoveries made now can fuel or reignite our motivation to pursue a particular path–ideally, a healthy, fulfilling one. The Moon continues its transit of Virgo until 5:16 PM, after which it moves through the sign of Libra. The Virgo Moon is particular, intelligent, and helpful. With the Moon in charming Libra later today, emotional satisfaction comes when we feel that our interactions and environment are balanced and harmonious. Conflicts tend to be avoided, averted, or resolved diplomatically and fairly. We are taking into account the opposite side of the coin, which can lead to indecision, but also more informed choices, ultimately. The Moon harmonizes with a parade of planets, suggesting natural outlets for expressing ourselves today. We need some release from tension, and this is helpful, but a Mars-Uranus square (exact tomorrow afternoon) is on its way, and friction is likely to build. It’s rebellious, erratic, willful energy.
The void Moon occurs from 9:29 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Libra at 5:16 PM EDT.
APRIL 7
Mars in Aquarius forms a square to Uranus in Taurus today, and this can point to combative, rebellious, and unpredictable responses. This transit can create an atmosphere that tempts us to take risks or to act on impulses without considering consequences. We may be too quick to move on immediate desires or to rebel if we feel at all confined or restrained. There may be changes in schedules or circumstances that challenge us to change our goals or adjust our actions. We might feel rebellious in the face of rules and regulations that we consider outdated or frustrated with anything that requires us to conform. We’re inclined to assert our independence abruptly. Energy is stop-and-go, and it can be hard to focus on only one activity at a time. Inner tension begs for release now, but we should avoid sudden moves. Even so, Mercury harmonizes with both Jupiter and Pluto today, and we’re aware of the need for long-term change, recognizing its benefits. We can feel rushed into it, however! Or, we may feel life is moving ahead very quickly, and we need to catch up. However, these influences might also suggest gaining a more enlightened perspective after dealing with tension and unrest, as well as the resolve to be more strategic. We see new layers to a situation. A Full Moon occurs tonight at 10:36 PM EDT in the sign of Libra. It’s a time of epiphanies, particularly about our need for others. We’re exploring the balance between our independent and interdependent natures. It’s a tense time, but if we listen to our hearts, we might come to some important revelations.
APRIL 8
With the Moon moving into passionate Scorpio at 4:17 PM EDT and a Mars-Chiron sextile, we’re determined, purposeful, and motivated. We may have the opportunity to take the lead, or to take action, regarding matters that lead to healing, cleansing, or teaching now. We can feel a pleasant, motivating sense of mission. There is likely to be a feeling of fearlessness when it comes to addressing problem areas. There is a drive to take affirmative action, most likely to defend or help ourselves and others. Later today, the Sun is semi-square Venus, and irritations with others could partly be the reflection of inner uneasiness. We can be especially hungry for appreciation. What we want to do and think we should do can be at odds now, and we may not be very productive with this kind of discontent. We should look for creative solutions for dissatisfaction.
The void Moon occurs from 8:50 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 4:17 PM EDT.
APRIL 9
The Moon is in Scorpio all day, encouraging us to get in touch with our feelings. There can be a boost to our intimate life and self-understanding. We might discover new information or uncover hidden information or items. The Moon opposes Uranus in Taurus and squares Mars very early today, and we can feel torn between stubbornly resisting change and embracing it. The Scorpio Moon harmonizes with Neptune later today, and it’s far more natural to take things as they come. Our imagination and ability to empathize are enhanced. We are more inclined to trust our intuition.
APRIL 10
The Moon continues its transit of deep, dark, and intelligent Scorpio until 4:35 PM EDT, after which it moves through truth-seeking, optimistic Sagittarius. The Scorpio Moon tends to evoke strong feelings and reactions. We pay more attention to our intuition. Venus in Gemini forms a sextile to Chiron today, and we’re especially open to learning from one another. There is a subtle healing power in our words and interactions. This transit softens our disposition and might offer us a chance to boost, heal, or enhance our relationships. We more readily see the beauty in human weaknesses and imperfections. It’s a good transit for building trust in relationships and repairing problem areas. Our judgment of value increases, and this benefits both relationship and financial decisions.
The void Moon occurs from 3:35 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 4:35 PM EDT.
APRIL 11
The Moon spends the day in fiery Sagittarius, encouraging us to look forward, and building our enthusiasm. Mercury enters Aries today, and this transit, lasting until the 27th, can feel refreshingly decisive and forward-looking. It can certainly be a time when we’re a bit impatient or terse, but it can feel good not to dwell or spend too much time arriving at conclusions in the weeks ahead. During this cycle, we’re less concerned with objective viewpoints and explanations, and more concerned with reaching a decision quickly. We want to pioneer and innovate now, or we want to be the first ones with the idea. It’s a time for speaking more spontaneously and directly with the planet of communication in bold and assertive Aries. Today, however, Mercury forms a sextile to Saturn, and it’s easier to direct our mental energy into something constructive and practical. This transit helps ground our thinking and expectations. We seek to be mentally prepared, desiring more order and organization in our lives.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Virgo
We instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice the smaller parts that make up the whole, and instead of letting nagging details bother us, we might work on ironing them out so that we can feel more confident moving ahead.
The Moon in Virgo generally favors the following activities: Mental pursuits, work activities, services, and routines. Activities that would benefit from tending to details.
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Aries A new sense of self, a more assertive personal style, a more dynamic approach to life: these are the hallmarks of the cycle that begins for you now. Doubts fade into the background, and reserve is more and more a thing of the past. It’s time for action; your destiny is in your hands, rather than set apart. Full speed ahead (“and damn the torpedoes”) is your motto now, for better or for worse!
Mercury in Pisces Knowing things without knowing how you know them is typical at a time like this. The mystical, the universal, the eternal: these are the things that stir your curiosity. Call it psychic, call it deja vu … it can be there when you call on it, whatever you call it. (Remembering the little things might become more difficult, however: it’s tough to remember if you paid the electric bill when you’re more interested in the eternal verities.)
Mercury in Aries New ideas and an independent or pioneering mental orientation take on more importance in your life at this time. Teaching, learning, communicating, and social contact have a way of outlining new directions in your life now, and there is much activity and involvement with these kinds of issues.
Venus in Gemini Saying (or writing) it with style comes naturally now. A yen for variety is a hallmark of this phase, and this especially applies to romantic experience and artistic tastes. The latter tends to focus on literature in general and poetry in particular. A sociable, congenial, slightly frivolous orientation sets in.
Mars in Aquarius The reformer, the inventor, the engineer, the revolutionary – these are important archetypes for you as a new cycle gets underway in your life. They are icons of the ambitions that stir you at a time like this. Independence, freedom from past patterns, and a daring readiness to innovate: such are the paths of achievement for you now.
Jupiter in Capricorn Respect, status, and achievement are central goals for you as a new phase begins in your life. Creating a structure to empower and maintain your ideals and principles becomes a high priority, an article of faith. By taking on greater responsibilities of this kind, you become an inspiration to others. Ambition unlimited always ends in defeat.
Saturn in Aquarius Ideals are in for a period of testing, as a new phase begins in your life. What are principles worth, unless they are put into practice? That’s an important question for you now. This could mean you may be disappointed by causes you believe in – but if you abandon your principles, you lose.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
