Moon Cancer-Moon Aries
There is quite a bit of underlying tension between you at times, for your emotional needs, habits, and responses to life are very much at odds. Cancer has a strong need for security, closeness, and familiar comfort. Emotionally sensitive and sympathetic, Cancer needs to be needed, and is sometimes very anxious about Aries’s seeming independence. Aries is less bound to the past, to parents, or to family ties and traditions, whereas Cancer is a much more sentimental person to whom such things are very important.
Aries is often abrupt and impatient, and is not averse to fighting or being confrontational. Cancer, on the other hand, is very sensitive to disruptions in the emotional atmosphere and to anything that seems to threaten important relationships. Cancer wants peace and a supportive (rather than combative) environment.
Also, Aries is basically honest and direct about individual needs, whereas Cancer is frequently indirect, hoping Aries will sense or feel what it is that Cancer needs and wants – and this is rarely the case! Cancer is adept at picking up subtle clues and sensing or feeling the needs of others, but Aries is not!
Cancer may secretly feel that Aries is selfish and uncaring. Aries may feel that Cancer is manipulative and overly dependent.
The two of you will have to make a lot of adjustments in order to relate comfortably with each other.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Taurus
Even though the way each of you reacts and responds to your environment on an emotional level is different, there is something oh so familiar about each other. Each of you is security-minded. You want to feel secure and safe in your personal relationships, and you may give up excitement for stability if you had to make a choice! Both of you are very domestic and need a strong, secure home base in order to be happy. The sharing of food, nurturing of children, and creating a home together would be very satisfying for the two of you. Cancer has deep attachments to family and to all things “familiar”. Taurus, too, is resistant to changes in domestic or personal life, preferring to stay with what has already been established rather than seeking novelty. Dependability and safety in a relationship are important to both of you, and you can find these things in each other.
Of the two of you, Cancer is more emotional, sensitive, and moody, while Taurus is more steady, practical, and even-tempered. Taurus gives Cancer a reassuring sense of security and is like the Rock of Gibraltar for Cancer during times of emotional stress and turmoil. Cancer may wish, however, that Taurus was less impassive at times.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Gemini
The two of you will need to recognize and accept one another’s different styles and needs in order to avoid numerous misunderstandings.
Cancer is very sensitive and moody, and needs a lot of tenderness, support and understanding at times. Easily hurt, Cancer is very prone to feeling left out or unloved. Cancer holds onto the past; to memories, to people, and to anything of sentimental value.
While Cancer responds very personally and emotionally to everything, Gemini responds intellectually or logically. Instead of tea and sympathy, Cancer is more likely to get a playful and witty comment, an insightful jest, or a reasonable discussion with very little emotional content from Gemini.
Put simply, Gemini is uncomfortable with Cancer’s emotionality, and may feel overwhelmed or smothered by Cancer’s emotional needs or solicitous concern.
Gemini seems too “light”, detached and cool to Cancer at times. It may appear that Gemini doesn’t care very deeply. This may not be the case at all, but Gemini is often unaware of feelings, including personal ones.
Neither is Gemini an especially sentimental creature. Dates that are special to Cancer (anniversaries, birthdays, etc.) aren’t as significant to Gemini as they are to Cancer. Gemini is very flexible and adaptable, however, and can learn to remember how important “the little things” are to Cancer.
Another difference between you is that Cancer is very domestic, loves the familiar, and is quite a homebody, while Gemini is just the opposite. Gemini gets bored without a lot of interaction with others and mental stimulation. Gemini’s restlessness can make Cancer feel insecure at times, but Cancer should definitely resist the tendency to cling so tightly that Gemini feels smothered.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Cancer
A sympathetic rapport exists between you which enables you to understand one another’s feelings, needs, insecurities, and inner life very well.
Both of you have a deep need for nurturing relationships, for a sense of family and belonging, and a strong home base. You become very dependent on loved ones for a sense of security and you sometimes smother the people you care about. You have a very strong desire to mother or be mothered by your mate.
Because you are so sensitive, moody, and easily hurt, some people find you difficult to live with, but you find one another quite understanding.
A few problems may arise however. One is that you may reinforce one another’s dependencies and weaknesses by babying one another too much, or by clinging to one another when one or both of you really needs to branch out in order to grow. Also, what happens when both of you are feeling vulnerable and needy and want to be babied at the same time? Who will do the parenting? At such times you may both act very childish, like “spoiled brats” in fact! However, because you have similar emotional needs, you feel very much “at home” and comfortable with each other, and that helps any relationship.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Leo
Proud and somewhat self-centered, Leo very much wants recognition, appreciation, applause, and to be the favorite or the center of attention. Leo craves affirmation and love but may be hard to know really well, as weaknesses, problems, doubts or insecurities are rarely admitted.
Leo has a dramatic streak and tends to exaggerate or blow things out of proportion. Wounded pride or a feeling of being ignored, neglected, or “not special” are Leo’s particular sensitivities. Cancer is a much softer, more private, sensitive shy person than Leo is, much less of a showman, and Leo’s histrionics are too much for Cancer at times. Leo is usually sunny, sociable, good humored, while Cancer is often moody and needs to withdraw sometimes. Cancer has emotional ups and downs, while Leo is fairly constant emotionally. You may be a complementary pair, though, because Cancer is supportive and will not compete for dominance with Leo, and Leo appreciates Cancer’s supportiveness and sympathy. You are both very protective, loyal, and warm toward one another.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Virgo
Both of you have the emotional habits of worry, anxiety, and over-concern about loved ones or life in general. You are both caring and supportive, but you express this in different ways. Cancer is more emotional, compassionate and tender, and appears more sympathetic than Virgo, who wants to help but may seem unemotional and critical at the same time. Virgo’s support is often shown by doing something practical, taking care of something concrete and tangible (running errands, doing the shopping, take care of business, etc.) while Cancer empathizes with others’ feelings and personal experiences far more easily.
Virgo is fastidious and particular about food, health, and personal habits, and can be very fussy about order, tidiness, cleanliness, proper behavior, etc., which makes Virgo difficult to live with sometimes. Irritability over others’ inefficiency, lack of punctuality, or sloppiness is also a habit of Virgo’s. Virgo’s perfectionism is also turned inward as well, so that Virgo may feel inadequate or that accomplishments are “never enough”. Learning self-acceptance, self-love, and relaxation are important for Virgo’s well-being, and Cancer can contribute significantly to this because Cancer is more accepting and non-judgmental than Virgo is. Cancer, on the other hand, has a lot of emotional ups and downs and appreciates Virgo’s quiet devotion and faithfulness.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Libra
Both of you try very hard to please and accommodate people, especially your love partner, and you are both very sensitive to others’ approval and opinion of you. Because harmony in your personal life is so important to both of you, you go out of your way to try to make one another comfortable and at ease. Both of you, in fact, feel very threatened by interpersonal conflict and you sometimes avoid confronting the more thorny problems or underlying differences in your emotional natures, however.
Cancer wants and needs security, reassurance, a home, a sense of belonging, close family ties. Cancer needs to be needed, is inclined to smother loved ones, and may be more of a mother or father than lover to Libra. Libra, on the other hand, wants a romantic partner more than a parent. So differences may arise regarding loyalties to family (Cancer) versus giving time and attention to the two of you as a couple (Libra).
Also, Cancer is often more emotional and “irrational” than Libra, who is usually more even, cool-headed, and reasonable than Cancer is.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Scorpio
Both of you are very sensitive and intuitive about others’ needs and feelings, and become deeply attached to people. The two of you can become very, very close, intensely bonded to one another, for you both need and seek a very complete emotional union with your partner. Cancer is very dependent on loved ones, and so is Scorpio, though Scorpio doesn’t always show or admit it. When you want something or care about something or someone, both of you are very emotional and often lose all objectivity.
For the most part you are quite compatible, but there are some differences. Scorpio is more passionate, more emotionally driven, and has very strong loves, hates, and emotional reactions to people and situations (though these feelings may be hidden).
Scorpio’s depths are revealed to very few, and it is difficult for Scorpio to be openly vulnerable and to relinquish control in a relationship. Scorpio can be very vindictive when hurt or angry. Cancer, on the other hand, is softer, more tender and gentle, and may be upset at times by Scorpio’s vehemence. Cancer wants and needs a very sympathetic, nurturing, non-competitive and peaceful atmosphere.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Sagittarius
Your emotional needs and temperaments are quite different, and this creates frustration for both of you, or at least discomfort at times.
Cancer is inwardly tender and sympathetic, and has a great yearning for closeness, and a sense of belonging or security. A very sensitive and feeling person, Cancer can be quite moody. Feelings of nostalgia, longing, melancholy, crabbiness, and worry or anxiety are a part of Cancer’s emotional nature. Sagittarius, on the other hand, is cheerful and upbeat most of the time, and is frequently impatient with Cancer’s moods and insecurities. Sagittarius may try to intellectualize or philosophize Cancer out of feeling moody. Rather than accepting Cancer’s feelings, Sagittarius will either ignore them entirely or try to lighten them up. But in either case, Cancer ends up feeling misunderstood or simply not accepted.
Also, Cancer has a strong concern with, and attachment to, the past, while Sagittarius is forward-looking and concerned more with the future. Cancer is domestic and needs a strong, secure home base, while Sagittarius yearns for the new and unfamiliar. Sagittarius is more adventurous and more willing to uproot and change residences in pursuit of growth and opportunities, and Sagittarius doesn’t want to be completely possessed or tied down. Freedom, mobility, and a certain degree of independence are essential for Sagittarius, who may feel dragged down by Cancer’s neediness, emotionality, and need for roots.
Furthermore, Sagittarius is naturally quite candid, frank, and rather tactless. Sagittarius doesn’t take everything as personally as Cancer does, and often hurts Cancer’s feelings unintentionally. Sagittarius may feel that natural self-expression must be inhibited in order to accommodate Cancer’s oversensitivity, and this can be frustrating.
Positively, Cancer can benefit from Sagittarius’s humor and optimism, and Sagittarius may learn to acknowledge and accept innermost feelings more fully as a result of being with Cancer.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Capricorn
Your instinctive emotional responses and your temperaments are very different and, in fact, quite opposite much of the time.
Cancer is emotional, tender, sentimental, easily swayed by moods and appeals to sympathy. The need to be deeply connected, a desire to be taken care of and/or a need to be needed are very strong in Cancer. Caring and closeness are of primary importance to Cancer.
Capricorn is as committed and loyal in relationship as Cancer is, but Capricorn is uncomfortable feeling or expressing softness, neediness, vulnerability, and emotion in general.
Capricorn has a certain crustiness and emotional distance, which seems cool or cold at times. Personal emotional needs are often ignored or put aside in favor of work, practical responsibilities and duties. Capricorn eschews dependency or “babyishness”, expecting capable, responsible, no-nonsense behavior at all times. Highly demanding of self and others, Capricorn often neglects the playful, feeling, childlike side of life.
Cancer’s emotionality and neediness often conflicts with Capricorn’s emotional detachment and dry realism. Secretly, however, Capricorn needs tenderness as much as anyone, though admitting that and asking to be held or comforted is very hard for Capricorn to do. Cancer’s softness is much needed and appreciated by Capricorn.
And Cancer, though sometimes frustrated by Capricorn’s inexpressiveness or unresponsiveness, is also drawn to Capricorn’s strength and emotional stability.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Aquarius
Both of you have a strong concern for people, but while Cancer is very personal and responds mostly to family or to people in the immediate environment, Aquarius has broader concerns, more universal sympathies, and an interest in human welfare in general. Aquarius often puts friends, social concerns or causes, or involvement in the world at large ahead of family loyalties, while Cancer isn’t inclined that way at all and may feel neglected and hurt by Aquarius’s attitude.
The two of you are quite different in other respects also. Cancer is sentimental and emotionally attached to the past, to familiar places and people, and to the safety, security, and comfort of the known. Aquarius, on the other hand, craves newness and excitement, and is rebellious or at least indifferent to convention and the traditions of the past. Aquarius is not averse to making radical changes in residence or lifestyle, while Cancer holds tightly to things as they are.
Also, Aquarius values personal freedom and needs to maintain a sense of individuality even in close relationships, while Cancer is very dependent on loved ones and may be made very anxious and insecure by Aquarius’s independence. Aquarius needs to be sensitive to Cancer’s feelings and attachments, and to recognize that change which is too rapid or sudden is very upsetting to Cancer.
Another difference between you is that Cancer is very emotional and subjective, while Aquarius is clear and objective, and frequently out of touch with emotions. Positively, Cancer can help Aquarius get in touch with deep feelings, sensitivities, and emotional needs that Aquarius has buried, and Aquarius can help Cancer get some more clarity and perspective on Cancer’s sometimes confusing or overwhelming feelings and moods.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Cancer-Moon Pisces
The two of you understand each other very well and you share many similar traits. You can have a very strong emotional rapport and attachment to one another, so much so that you communicate nonverbally or telepathically quite easily.
Both of you are highly receptive and sensitive to the emotional tone surrounding you. You have an intuitive awareness of others’ inner feelings and needs, and are sympathetic almost to a fault. You absorb the moods of the people around you, and are prone to take on others’ troubles or emotions, sometimes not even knowing what your own true feelings are and what you have picked up from someone else. It is important for both of you to have a peaceful home to retreat to (near a lake or other body of water, ideally). You need a place where you can withdraw and replenish yourselves, spiritually and emotionally, on a regular basis. You share a tendency to want to escape from the pressures of the world and modern day competition and stress. Meditation, listening to or creating music, or living close to nature are nurturing ways to do so. This is a dreamy combination, and your relationship is likely to be quite tender and thoughtful.
