Moon Aries-Moon Aries
Both of you are assertive, emotionally self-sufficient individuals who respond with positive action, anger, or compulsive busy-ness whenever you are upset.
Often you deny or downplay any feelings of weakness, dependency, or neediness in yourselves or others. You expect yourself to “snap out of it” whenever you feel sad, low, or moody, and you’re frequently impatient with others’ emotional needs as well. This is not so bad when you are both feeling up, but when one of you is ill or feeling vulnerable, you may not get the comfort or support you need.
Both of you have a competitive spirit and may enjoy playing sports or other athletic activities together, but you can easily antagonize one another instead, and end up feeling like rivals rather than loving friends.
Both of you instinctively want to lead and don’t compromise or take commands very readily. Having two “chiefs” in one household can be volatile at times!
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Taurus
Aries wants action and stimulation, and enjoys the challenge of a new environment, whereas what Taurus wants above all else is domestic tranquility, stability, and security. Taurus puts down roots and gets emotionally attached to a familiar place, but Aries is much more eager to change and uproot when conditions feel stagnant or a new opportunity presents itself.
Where Aries is volatile and expressive, Taurus tends to be calm, steady, and impassive. Taurus is usually understanding but unperturbed by Aries’s occasional outbursts of indignation, impatience, frustration, etc. Sometimes Aries may long for “a good fight” or a stronger emotional reaction from Taurus, but most of the time Taurus’s even temper and calmness have a soothing, healing effect on Aries.
Aries’s first response to any situation is action (whether appropriate and helpful or not); Taurus’s is to wait-and-see, or to let the situation resolve itself in its own time.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Gemini
Both of you are easily bored, and quickly become restless if there is no movement or change in your lives. You enjoy action, and may find yourselves constantly busy and on the move. You’re likely to begin projects and then drop them during slow, difficult, or “dry” periods, and you may follow the same pattern in close relationships.
Neither of you is very comfortable with emotional dependency and needs, and would feel stifled by a clinging partner who doesn’t understand your need to go off and “do you own thing” sometimes.
Basically, you are quite compatible, but Aries is very direct and cannot tolerate emotional dishonesty or pretense, while Gemini clowns around, plays with words, and is frequently not serious or sincere when speaking about personal desires or feelings. Aries wants a clear signal, but Gemini isn’t always aware of this, and simply can’t be pinned down sometimes.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Cancer
There is quite a bit of underlying tension between you at times, for your emotional needs, habits, and responses to life are very much at odds. Cancer has a strong need for security, closeness, and familiar comfort. Emotionally sensitive and sympathetic, Cancer needs to be needed, and is sometimes very anxious about Aries’s seeming independence. Aries is less bound to the past, to parents, or to family ties and traditions, whereas Cancer is a much more sentimental person to whom such things are very important.
Aries is often abrupt and impatient, and is not averse to fighting or being confrontational. Cancer, on the other hand, is very sensitive to disruptions in the emotional atmosphere and to anything that seems to threaten important relationships. Cancer wants peace and a supportive (rather than combative) environment.
Also, Aries is basically honest and direct about individual needs, whereas Cancer is frequently indirect, hoping Aries will sense or feel what it is that Cancer needs and wants – and this is rarely the case! Cancer is adept at picking up subtle clues and sensing or feeling the needs of others, but Aries is not!
Cancer may secretly feel that Aries is selfish and uncaring. Aries may feel that Cancer is manipulative and overly dependent.
The two of you will have to make a lot of adjustments in order to relate comfortably with each other.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Leo
Both of you very much wish to believe in your own personal strength, and may mask feelings of weakness, inadequacy, or neediness. Proud and fiercely independent (especially Aries), neither of you readily admits that you need help or support.
Both of you harbor a secret (or not so secret) desire to be the center of attention, to be on top, or to dominate – and you may compete for that position in your relationship. However, both of you also respect strong individuals and appreciate one another’s integrity and individuality.
There is much compatibility between you if your strong egos do not get in the way.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Virgo
You will need to do quite a bit of adjusting in order to harmonize with one another on a daily basis, as your personal habits and instinctive emotional responses to situations are very different, and may become a source of considerable irritation over time.
Virgo is careful and needs to thoroughly analyze a situation before proceeding. Aries, on the other hand, is impulsive and direct and often abrupt. Aries will act first, and think about the consequences later. Aries is prone to emotional outbursts and short-lived, but frequent, flares of temper. Virgo is rather sensitive and becomes nervous, fretful, or anxious by Aries’s brashness.
Virgo is a bit of a worrier, and Aries, who hates to admit ever feeling frightened or insecure, may scoff at Virgo’s concerns and worries.
Also, Virgo is something of a perfectionist, dislikes making mistakes, and can be very critical of self and others. Aries has a strong need to take chances on new ventures, to be daring and original, and is bound to make numerous mistakes in the process. Virgo’s criticisms can be very discouraging to the bold pioneer in Aries. One way you can support each other is for Virgo to help organize and practically implement some of Aries’s creative ideas.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Libra
The two of you are opposites in many ways and you are each drawn to the qualities in your partner that you lack.
Libra doesn’t really feel complete without a love partner, and instinctively knows how to share, blend with, and harmonize with people, while Aries is more self-reliant and assertive, and often rather inconsiderate of others’ needs and desires. Aries instinctively takes charge and tends to run the show, while Libra is the conciliator and compromiser in your relationship.
Libra depends a great deal on others’ approval, often lacks a strong sense of self or personal direction, and may simply go along with Aries much of the time, for Aries has stronger preferences and less willingness to accommodate a partner’s wishes. Libra wants togetherness, while Aries needs time to go off alone and be a free agent sometimes. Also, Aries is rather impulsive and volatile, and is prone to outbursts of temper, while Libra is more rational and often avoids unpleasant emotions, especially anger. Therefore, Libra may appear to be the nice, likeable “good guy” in the relationship, while Aries is cast in the role of the trouble maker.
When personal problems arise, Libra wants to discuss them with a counselor or friend, is open to suggestions and others’ opinions, and wants to negotiate a fair, equitable solution. Aries is less likely to seek outside help and may have little patience for talking and airing the problem, unless some clear, concrete change results.
The two of you will have to do considerable adjusting in order to live with these differences between you, even if other astrological aspects indicate harmony and compatibility.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Scorpio
Both of you have strong emotional responses to people and situations, but you express yourselves very differently. Aries becomes frustrated and impatient rather easily and is prone to frequent, but short-lived, outbursts of temper. Scorpio, on the other hand, often hides feelings and holds on to hurts or grudges for a long time. Scorpio is emotionally complex, secretive and often suspicious as well, and capable of tremendous emotional intensity. Scorpio loves or hates wholeheartedly. Aries is more simple and direct than Scorpio, and may not fully appreciate the depth of Scorpio’s feelings.
You may have some vicious conflicts at times, yet you are drawn to one another’s passion.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Sagittarius
Both of you are somewhat uncomfortable with emotional neediness and dependency. Your expression of emotion is spontaneous and intuitive. Sagittarius often intellectualizes feelings, and may filter personal experiences through a philosophical system that regards certain feelings to be “positive” and acceptable, and other feelings to be “negative”, unacceptable, and to be avoided. Aries may become annoyed with being told how one “should feel” in a given circumstance. In particular, Sagittarius may try to humor or talk Aries out of Aries’s anger.
However, there is also much harmony and compatibility between you on an emotional level. Both of you crave personal freedom and a certain degree of independence. Neither of you wants to be completely “owned” by another person. You need respect for your individuality and you will respect one another’s right to make your own decisions, etc. You also respect each other’s spontaneity and emotional honesty.
Also, both of you enjoy vigorous, competitive play or high-spirited intellectual sparring. With both of your Moon signs in the element of fire, you are apt to feel comfortable with one another in a domestic or otherwise private setting.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Capricorn
Your instinctive emotional responses, habitual feelings, emotional tone, and ways of coping with challenges are very different. Aries’s initial response is often impatience. Aries takes a positive, enthusiastic stance and wants to “do battle” with challenges. Capricorn tends to withdraw in order to formulate a strategy for dealing with the problem. Capricorn downplays the feelings and emotions evoked by the situation, focusing instead on “what needs to be done” – the concrete aspects of the situation.
Aries is spontaneous and direct in expressing desires and feelings; Capricorn is careful and controlled, often quite subdued. Aries tends to be a bit self-centered, and expects personal rewards, whereas Capricorn often feels undeserving of pleasure, comfort or the fulfillment of desires. Capricorn instinctively feels that hard work will be necessary to achieve anything (emotional satisfaction or personal ambitions). Aries instinctively believes “I can”. Capricorn is a doubter, and this can be a problem between you. Positively, Capricorn can help Aries gain some emotional distance and detachment from irritating situations, because Aries tends to take everything personally and Capricorn does not. Aries can open up Capricorn to more spontaneous reactions to life.
Both of you are also rather emotionally self-sufficient and enjoy times to yourself. On an emotional level, Aries tends to react first and think later, while the opposite is true of Capricorn!
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Aquarius
Aries’s emotions tend to be hot and fiery, while Aquarius is cooler, more detached, impersonal and fair. When something provokes Aries’s impatience or anger, Aquarius can be infuriatingly logical and reasonable. Both of you are active and independent and insist upon having the freedom to pursue your personal interests and desires outside of your relationship. You allow one another to be separate individuals, as well as being part of the couple. Aries is sometimes domineering, but Aquarius demands equality and will not accept being dominated. Both of you resist authority.
Also, both of you have a craving for newness and a willingness to let go of the old and the past in order to embrace a new opportunity or to follow your direction regardless of tradition or convention.
Though similar in temperament, you may not always get along because neither of you compromise very readily.
Compatibility Rating: (See color codes below)
Moon Aries-Moon Pisces
Your instinctive emotional responses and emotional needs are so different that quite often you rub each other the wrong way or cause offense to one another unintentionally.
Aries has an eager, active, take-charge attitude that is somewhat abrasive to Pisces, who is gentle, receptive, very sensitive, and rather passive.
Aries is direct and confrontational, and can be quite irritated with Pisces’s vagueness, over-sensitivity, and tendency to seek escape or avoid conflict. Aries is somewhat volatile and needs to express anger and other emotions rather than bottling them up. Once released, Aries forgets these outbursts rather quickly, but Pisces is often left feeling hurt or upset by the disruption. Pisces craves peace, tranquility, and a sort of idyllic environment.
Also, Pisces has a strong need for closeness and sympathy, and is often very dependent on loved ones, while Aries prefers to be (or at least acts) self-reliant and independent. Pisces is extremely flexible and adaptable and often unfocused or unclear about personal direction, and Aries should take care not to dominate or take advantage of Pisces’s willingness to give and bend. Perhaps the most challenging thing with this combination of Moon signs is the conflict between Aries’s need for direct contact and immediate answers and Pisces’s indirect approach to emotions. Aries values facing problems right away and directly, while Pisces tends towards withdrawing and avoidance.
