Jupiter expands our experiences, our knowledge, and our understanding. Jupiter represents optimism, growth, generosity, and abundance. While in Capricorn, Jupiter urged us to define goals, seek out tangible results, act ethically and maturely, and take a disciplined and step-by-step approach to realize our objectives. We focused on our material goals, structures, rules, and sense of responsibility (from December 2019 to December 2020).

When Jupiter was in Aquarius (December 2020 to May 2021 and July 2021 to December 2021), Jupiter expanded our awareness of our place in the community and the needs of all. Jupiter in Aquarius encouraged fairness, impartiality, individuality, and humanitarianism. We reaped rewards through being more inclusive and just. And, we opened our minds to progress.

Now in Pisces, Jupiter expands our awareness of our spirituality and compassion. Jupiter in Pisces encourages us to give of ourselves and embrace compassion and imagination. We’re spiritually open, but we also need extra space and time to ourselves to recoup our energy. Being in tune with the universe is draining, after all!

Pisces is a Water sign. With a Water sign Jupiter, we have a stronger belief in a higher power. We are most able to attract luck and rich life experiences through our intuition, imagination, and compassion. Helping those in need boosts our own morale.

More specifically with Jupiter in Pisces, we attract the most good fortune when we are charitable, tender, devoted, compassionate, giving, and when we look out for the underdog. Jupiter’s enthusiasm can be well-intentioned but might blind us to our immoderate behaviors.

In Pisces, we can be avoidant or indulgent, if overdone. We should watch for escapism, bending personal philosophies or morals to suit the situation, deception and self-deception, restlessness and vague discontent, and unwillingness to face problems or negative situations directly.

These things may be more prevalent around Jupiter’s square to the North Node of the Moon in early January and its conjunction to Neptune in April.

While we’re developing our empathy with Jupiter in Pisces, we should put a more concerted effort and commitment into putting those feelings into action. Theory is great, but applying it is important. Feeling for someone isn’t enough if it’s not expressed.

Restlessness is another potential problem with the planet of freedom in a sign that has few boundaries. Greater spiritual awareness or good spiritual/emotional practices can help mitigate this aimlessness.

These are possible downfalls to watch for during this Jupiter sign cycle.

Jupiter in Pisces Working For Us

However, the higher vibration or expression of Jupiter seeks perspective. Jupiter’s perspective isn’t a detached, analytical, or detailed look at any given situation, but an overview–a look at the “big picture.” With Jupiter, ideally, we are able to rise above pettiness, mundane concerns, inconveniences, and the like.

Jupiter is the ancient ruler of the sign of Pisces and feels right at home during this transit, boosting its general performance.

With Jupiter, we extend our reach, and in Pisces, we’re more inclined to broaden and extend our compassion to a wider group. While Jupiter was in Aquarius, if traditions weren’t doing us any favors, we were more able to break free from them with less sentimentality. We tend to break with tradition in subtler, more gradual ways.

We seek to reach others through the emotions or the heart. Pisces doesn’t like sharp edges, rigid boundaries, or abrupt moves. During this Jupiter cycle, we could find ourselves more frequently feeling uncomfortable with these things.

We very much need the freedom of our beliefs and to believe while Jupiter is moving through Pisces.

Media, Health, Energy

We may see more Piscean themes and topics in the media as we become more and more fascinated with Pisces energies.

The arts help us connect with our own higher vision of beauty and help to keep us balanced.

Pisces is perceptive and emotional, and is ahead in their thinking with their sense of oneness with the universe, compassion, and love of humanity. We may see more themes spotlighting the complicated but caring hero. The kind but absent-minded style of Pisces can be in vogue. People with strong Pisces influences in their charts (for example, Catherine O’Hara, Fred Rogers, Johnny Cash, Laura Dern, Rachel Weisz, Bad Bunny, Victor Garber, Cindy Crawford, Kesha, and Anthony Head) can rise in relevance or popularity.

Health issues with Jupiter are usually related to excesses, while Pisces issues are often connected to the feet, anklebone, pineal gland, appendix, and lymphatic system. Health problems associated with Pisces under stress include diseases or problems related to the feet, seasonal affective disorder, and auto-immune diseases. Edema, swelling, enlarged or fatty liver, and obesity can be problematic. Psychic sensitivity is also indicated with Jupiter in Pisces.

It’s certainly possible that latent problems in these areas can magnify during this Jupiter transit. It’s also possible that solutions arise for these issues.

Jupiter in Pisces: Dates

Jupiter only dips into the sign of Pisces before turning retrograde and returning to Aquarius. Later, it zips through Pisces, moves on to Aries, but later returns and spends more time in the last decan of Pisces due to retrograde motion. It’s complicated! However, it helps to consider that Jupiter transits Pisces in three parts. It goes as follows:

• Jupiter travels through the first few degrees of Pisces from May 13 to July 28, 2021. This period is short because, on June 20th, 2021, Jupiter turns retrograde at only 2 degrees Pisces.
• Jupiter returns to Aquarius on July 28th, continues in retrograde motion until it turns direct on October 18th, 2021.
• Now direct, Jupiter continues in the sign of Aquarius until December 28th, 2021, when it moves on for good. Jupiter won’t return to Aquarius until 2032.
• From December 28th, 2021, to May 10, 2022, Jupiter zips through the entire sign of Pisces, moving on to Aries on May 10th, 2022.
• Jupiter continues in early degrees of Aries, then turns retrograde on July 28th, 2022, at about 8-9 degrees Aries. At this point, it moves backwards through the first decan of Aries, eventually returning to Pisces on October 28th, 2022.
• Jupiter continues to move back through the late degrees of Pisces until it turns direct on November 23rd, 2022. It then moves forward in Pisces until it heads into Aries on December 20th, 2022. Jupiter won’t return to Pisces until the year 2033.

Jupiter’s sextile to Uranus can be enlightening. We’re open to new energies, approaches, and attitudes under this influence. Fortunate events occur as a direct result of our willingness to entertain the unusual and to think outside of the box.

This transit favors group activities, financial endeavors associated with groups or organizational efforts, online connections and ventures, educational pursuits, writing, publishing, speaking, and humanitarian efforts. Our outlook is positive and optimistic.

During this transit, we tend to view change and activity as good things. We’re less tolerant of repetition and routine, and we’re resistant of obligations or limits to our self-expression. Good luck or money can happen unexpectedly, appearing in the nick of time. Jupiter’s sextile to the True North Node of the Moon in April points to a willingness to grow, learn, improve, and develop, moving past our fears. We are ready to embrace new methods and attitudes, leaving behind those no longer serving our growth. Jupiter encourages us to embrace our visions, and its trine to the North Node helps us balance our vision with our intuition. Our conscience is well-developed, and we want to help others. We’re more inclined than usual to believe in the power of the group.

This transit increases our desire to connect with like-minded people or those who can help push us in the direction of growth and improvement. Jupiter’s conjunction to Neptune prompts idealistic and humanitarian goals or impulses to surface. A spirit of altruism and generosity, making connections with others from a different background, widening our minds through unusual or different experiences, expanded faith, and a feeling that we can do anything we believe we can do are all themes.

We more easily make personal sacrifices for what we believe to be for the better good. Everyday, ordinary life doesn’t satisfy, as we hunger for a more ideal life. This can lead to disappointment or strong feelings of discontent and restlessness. We may need a reality check in order to keep our expectations realistic. Practical considerations could take a back seat now. Around the same time, Jupiter forms a sextile to Pluto, helping us focus, although it can also serve to inflate any self-deceptions we’re currently entertaining, making it important to gain some perspective.

We might enjoy increased influence, faith, and insight now. The desire for more personal significance can lead us to give of ourselves or motivate us to more ambitiously pursue personal or professional goals. The ability to sway or persuade can be enhanced now.

One of the most positive uses of this transit is taking steps to better ourselves. We might solve a problem that has been in existence for some time, or capitalize upon a resource previously untapped or undiscovered. This transit generally favors business, the law, and commerce. With Jupiter’s quintile to Uranus in July 2021, we notice and appreciate the more unique elements of situations, people, and projects.

Jupiter’s semi-sextile to Chiron in February 2022 suggests some difficulty getting to a satisfying sense of meaning and understanding. It may not be easy to align ourselves with a personal philosophy or belief system that truly reflects our core. In terms of love relationships and partnering, Jupiter in Pisces energy is far more focused on matters of the heart than the intellect. We value understanding and a spiritual or emotional connection more than usual. While Pluto is working to transform our values in the long term, Jupiter has a more immediate effect on our value system. With Jupiter in Pisces for some of 2021 and much of 2022, our attitude towards partnering can blur some of the traditional boundaries. We should watch for confusing compassion with being in love or sticking with situations purely out of guilt.

For greater success in love and relationship while Jupiter transits Pisces, showcase your kind, gentle, and humanitarian qualities. We tend to value universal love more than usual during this transit. Improvements to relationships now can involve some intensive work on slipping into one another’s shoes. We’re not impressed with an excessive focus on the material world–we care far less about material standing than we do perceptiveness and compassion.

Jupiter spends many months in the sign of Pisces. The last time Jupiter transited Pisces was from January to June 2010 and September 2010 to January 2011. What we started during this period is now enjoying a Jupiter return — it’s going through a rebirth, of sorts — so that it might blossom, increase, or require adjustments in order to grow further.

Before that period, Jupiter was in Pisces from February 1998 to February 1999, from February 1986 to March 1987, from March 1974 to March 1975, and from March 1962 to April 1963.

Jupiter Transiting Pisces Horoscopes: What it Means for Each Sign

The following are excerpted and adapted from my 2021 Preview Horoscopes. In a general sense, this is how Jupiter’s transit through Pisces affects the different Sun signs (and Ascendant signs):

Aries

Jupiter moves into your solar twelfth house on May 13th, 2021–a quieter period for Jupiter, but certainly not without its benefits.

The full Jupiter transit comes in three chapters, the first of which lasts from May 13-July 28. It’s a time of a meaningful inner spiritual search as you establish a deeper connection with your intuition. You’ll be gaining a better relationship with yourself from the inside out. Your sympathetic nature deepens, and you can thoroughly enjoy helping others. Discovering an untapped resource or benefits coming from behind the scenes can figure strongly. This transit will develop further over the course of its three chapters.

Areas of life that expand, grow, and reward you are your spiritual world, compassion, private life, and tolerance. These are periods for looking within and learning your inner strength. It’s also a time for appreciating some level of solitude or extra downtime.

This influence spans three date ranges:

• from December 28, 2021-May 10, 2022,
• and from October 28, 2022-December 20, 2022
