This year, it will influence those born from approximately March 24-April 10 and with an Aries Ascendant of 3-19 degrees the most. Your Planetary Ruler in 2024: Mars is your planetary ruler, and it does turn retrograde this year, although only near the end of 2024–only the last 3.5 weeks. However, if we factor in the pre-retrograde shadow, it’s almost three months of influence, whether direct or indirect.

This year, Mars begins a retrograde period in the sign of Leo on December 6th, 2024, and it will continue moving in retrograde motion until February 23rd, 2025. It’s important that, during this period, you get the rest you need and that you avoid pushing yourself or your personal plans and ventures ahead. Observe, reflect, and be as patient as you can.

Note that there’s not only a hangover period after a retrograde cycle in which we reorient ourselves, but there’s a pre-retrograde shadow period in which it’s best not to push your affairs forward. This pre-retrograde shadow phase occurs this year from October 4th forward. Ideally, you’ll handle your bigger initiatives outside of these periods, but if you must go ahead with something, it’s better to handle it in the post-retrograde shadow (after February 23rd, 2025) than it is initiated in the pre-retro shadow.

In a general sense, this means forward movement and a natural pace for you in 2024 until October, after which reorientation and the building up of resources and energy is vital.
