Romance & Relationship Report
Daily Trends
The FULL MOON occurs on Sunday, October 13th, 2019, at 5:08 PM EDT.
The Full Moon occurs when the Sun in Libra forms an opposition to the Moon in Aries and is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Aries-Libra polarity is a relationship axis, where Aries represents “self” and Libra represents “other.” Where Aries is about self-assertion, Libra is about compromise. The energy of the Libra Sun is the awareness of the need for relationships and all that comes with maintaining them–compromising, negotiating, graciousness, and balancing. The Aries Moon, on the other hand, is self-assertive, leading, and personally courageous.
This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between meeting our personal needs and attending to the needs of a significant other, and between independence or autonomy and dependence or companionability. The Libra Sun is diplomatic, equality-minded, and fair-minded. The Aries Moon, however, values authenticity over tact and is energized by independent efforts. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict. Neglecting either end of the Aries-Libra axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do.
This Full Moon is about emotional declarations. Something has been building inside of us, likely of a personal nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this declaration means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them. The Full Moon illuminates the conflict between “me” and “you”, and between autonomy and sharing. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic illumination occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not particularly rational as yet. With the Full Moon forming a square to Pluto (tightly) and Saturn, as well as a sextile to Jupiter (tightly), there can be pressures and a bit of paranoia attached to our realizations, but also a real sense that we can accomplish what we set out to do.
This lunation reminds us to consider how we are honoring ourselves in the context of our close relationships. New revelations can occur now, particularly in the areas of our physical bodies, leadership skills, our ability to initiate and begin new things, and our close partnerships. We can struggle with obstacles or what appear to be harsh realities, but we’re optimistic and resourceful.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 20 degrees and 14 minutes of Aries opposite the Sun at the same degree of Libra, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 16 to 24 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

This week: The Sun is in Libra; Mercury is in Scorpio; Venus is in Scorpio; Mars is in Libra.
The Sun is in Libra from September 23-October 23. Libra rules relationships with others as mirrors of ourselves. Meeting others halfway, compromise, and negotiation come under the rule of Libra. The focus is now on balance–finding balance and harmony through relationships with others and through art. Libra is the sign of the peacemaker. However, life is not always peaceful with Libra in its attempt to restore balance. Decision-making can be more challenging while the Sun is in Libra. Libra weighs both sides of any situation, and sometimes this process seems endless! In Libra, the Sun is concerned about not rocking the boat and not rubbing others the wrong way. Tactfulness, style, tolerance, and sociability are some of the keywords for Libra. On the shadow side, Libra can be self-serving, indecisive, passive-aggressive, and superficial.
Mercury is in Scorpio from October 3-December 9. When Mercury is in Scorpio, our thoughts and communications are more probing and intense. While Mercury in Libra urged us to find balance and to arrive at fair solutions, Mercury in Scorpio instinctively knows that life simply isn’t fair. Mercury in Scorpio seeks truths in all that is hidden and undercover. We tend to probe, observe, and focus our thoughts under this influence. Looking for motivations–the more deeply buried the better–satisfies an intellectual need now. Our thoughts are profound. We throw away the superficial manners of communicating in favor of deep conversations. Scorpio is extremely sharp, profound, and analytical. Thinking is inclined to be one-track minded, focused, and even obsessive.
Venus is in Scorpio from October 8-November 1. Deeply passionate relations are in focus with Venus in the sign of Scorpio. Superficial flirtations and contacts do not satisfy now, as we yearn for “body and soul” contact with someone special–contact that breaks the taboos, that is extreme and intense, and that is unforgettable. This is a highly emotional position for Venus. It is passionate, sensual, and intense energy. Our relationships are immensely important to us, and we may even feel that they consume us. In fact, we tend to want to be consumed by them! Our drive is toward intense closeness, but blind faith in our partners is extremely hard for us now. Fears of being too vulnerable or of giving up our own power to others are strong. Scorpio is an “all or nothing” energy, and relationships tend to be somewhat of a rollercoaster ride as a result. Disdain for mediocrity and superficiality can compel us to create crises in order to feel alive and vital.
Mars is in Libra from October 4-November 19. We tend to use our charm as a means to an end under the influence of this cycle. Because we can see many different sides to an issue, we can be vacillating and indecisive about how to act. We don’t want to be the “bad guy”, and rarely resort to force. Instead, we attempt to win arguments with style. We are indirect in approach and inclined towards engaging in mental debates, yet we also attempt to make the opposition comfortable! Passive-aggressiveness is the shadow side of this energy.
Jupiter entered Sagittarius on November 8th, 2018, and transits the sign until December 2nd, 2019. Read more about the Jupiter in Sagittarius transit.
Saturn transits Capricorn from December 19/20, 2017, to March 21, 2020; and then finishes up its transit from July 1 to December 17, 2020. Read about Saturn’s transit through Capricorn here.
Uranus is in Taurus. Uranus first transited Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and is now consistently in the sign (since March 6th, 2019) until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn how to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. We’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle. There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Scorpio from October 8 to November 1, 2019. Deeply passionate relations are the focus with Venus in Scorpio. If a relationship becomes too settled or predictable, we may crave more intensity and catalytic experience. Jealousies, fears of betrayal, and power games are the shadow side of Venus in Scorpio. We may easily become obsessed with a fear that our partners might be betraying us, or that they are not as consumed and dedicated to the relationship as us. This can lead us to try to uncover the “truth”, reading too many negative possibilities in our partners’ actions and words.
This week: Wednesday and Thursday, we are more dedicated than usual to creating harmony, connecting, and making nice with one another. We are especially agreeable and cooperative. We could feel lucky in love, and we could make fortunate connections. Saturday is good for making sensible decisions. We tend to favor reliability in people and relationships.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Scorpio October 8-November 1. This is way beyond love, all the way to obsession – that’s the nature of the cycle that now takes hold in your life. We’re not talking just lukewarm WANT here; we’re talking red-hot got to have! Passion, jealousy, possession: these are the kinds of experiences that can flow from the intensity that courses through you at one level or another now – voracious.
Venus semi-square Jupiter October 11-12. We experience a strong desire for more pleasure in our lives, which can be excessive. Take care not to overstate your feelings or to set up unrealistic expectations in your partnerships.
Venus opposition Uranus October 12. Not a good time to start relationships. Independence is the reigning need. Some fickleness. Uncertainty about the desire to be close to someone. Freedom versus closeness.
Venus trine North Node October 16-17. We are more dedicated than usual to creating harmony, and we tend to be agreeable and cooperative. We could feel lucky in love, and we could meet someone who is good for us. Fortunate connections might be made now.
Venus sextile Saturn October 19-20. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. A new sense of realism in existing partnerships. Relationships begun under this influence possess a distinctly practical theme, almost as if the partnership is a business endeavor.
Venus trine Neptune October 20-21. We perceive romantic situations as if they were “designed” just for us. A magical, romantic time. The pleasures of life are experienced fully. Romance is highly favored. We see the very best in people now, and this eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships.
Venus sesquiquadrate Chiron October 22. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves.
Venus sextile Pluto October 24-25. Subtly powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships. New insights into relationships and love. Strong attractions.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, October 13th, from 5:58 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Pluto), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Monday, October 14th, at 12:24 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, October 16th, from 4:37 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Pluto), until the Moon enters Gemini at 10:30 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, October 18th, from 10:15 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to the Sun), until the Moon enters Cancer the next day, Saturday, October 19th, at 6:43 AM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Sun sextile Jupiter. This transit can bring hopefulness, goodwill, and increased influence into our lives. It’s favorable for marketing, publishing, and advertising, as well as any self-promotion activities. We may be especially sociable, tolerant, and generous under this influence. Confidence comes from a stronger sense of who we are and the principles we represent. Some form of recognition or distinction is possible now. We are more able to grasp the “big picture” which expands our perspective.
Jupiter sesquiquadrate Uranus. This influence is a restless one. We could find it difficult to agree with others, or to find common ground. We need to be willing to make changes in our lives now, or change will be forced upon us. This is a rebellious, restless influence–one in which we should avoid making changes just for the sake of making changes. We might take risks (perhaps foolish ones) for the sake of freedom. This is not a good time for financial speculation or travel. This is a time during which we can open ourselves up to new ways of thinking. However, we could also too easily avoid taking responsibility for things that truly matter.
Mercury sextile Saturn. A good time to get organized, to do detail work, and to prepare for the future. Decisions made now tend to be practical and well thought out. Work done now will have tangible results in the future.
Sun square Pluto. Insubordination and abuse of power. Impatience with rules. Compulsiveness. The urge to get to the bottom of matters is with us, but we are too insistent. Avoid beating a dead horse and attempting to force matters that should naturally take time to unfold. Circumstances now can push us to discover our own power–power that comes from a strong sense of self rather than superficial energy derived from manipulating people into doing what we want them to do. Events may occur now that highlight the need to trust.
Mercury trine Neptune. Imagination and intuition run high and are involved in decisions made today. We are in the right place at the right time. We may easily sense the thoughts and feelings of others. We express ourselves with subtle flair. Favors photography, the arts, poetry, fiction, spirituality, advertising, and promotion.
Mercury sesquiquadrate Chiron. Communications may be careless, hurtful or perceived as hurtful under this influence. It can be hard to read the intention behind the words used to communicate now. There may be impatience with rules, worry or guilty feelings, and conflicting viewpoints now.
Mercury sextile Pluto. We possess more insight and psychological understanding than usual. We are willing to look beyond the surface of things and investigate further. Perhaps more importantly, we are more patient and strategic in our decision-making.

OCTOBER 13
The Moon spends the day in the sign of Aries, reaching Full at 5:08 PM EDT. The Full Moon reminds us to consider how we are honoring ourselves in the context of our close relationships. New revelations can occur now, particularly in the areas of our leadership skills, feelings of independence, our ability to initiate and begin new things, and our close partnerships. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic illumination occurs in our lives. Since these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, we might want to exercise some care expressing them. With the Full Moon forming a square to Pluto, there can be intense realizations now. The Sun forms a sextile to Jupiter and is approaching a square to Pluto today. On the one hand, the Sun-Jupiter sextile stimulates hopefulness and generosity. It can be a time for engaging with others in delightful ways and enjoying opportunities for doing so. Confidence comes from a stronger sense of who we are and the principles we represent. However, we might act and express ourselves somewhat compulsively, or we could be too insistent on having our way or pushing our ideas upon others. Fears and buried matter can rise to the surface, making it difficult to put our faith and trust in others (or the universe) as the day advances. Circumstances now can push us to discover our inner power, which comes from a strong sense of self rather than superficial energy derived from manipulating people into doing what we want them to do. We’re also heading towards a Mercury-Saturn sextile, and if we’re feeling tense, reasoning things out logically and step by step can be beneficial and even soothing.
The void Moon occurs from 5:58 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Pluto), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Monday, October 14th, at 12:24 PM EDT.
OCTOBER 14
A Jupiter-Uranus sesquiquadrate early today is a longer-term aspect that is the final of three occurring while Jupiter has been transiting Sagittarius this year (the first occurred in January and the second in June). With this influence, we may be feeling restless if our dreams are no longer fulfilling or inspiring us, and we should watch for the taking on of impractical ventures or unusual tangents with weak staying power. This influence can also remind us that taking on too many new projects through the enthusiasm generated by Jupiter can overload us and weigh us down, curtailing our freedom in other life departments. The Moon continues its transit of pioneering Aries until 12:24 PM EDT, after which it slows down to enjoy itself in the sign of Taurus. Even though the Taurus Moon is steady and content, its alignment with Uranus tonight suggests we need to “do” comfort a little differently.
The Moon ends its void period at 12:24 PM when the Moon enters Taurus.
OCTOBER 15
There is some magical energy with us today. The Moon spends the day in the sign of Taurus, and Venus, a Taurean ruler, connects creatively with Pluto and Chiron. Both the Sun and Mercury harmonize with Neptune. We’re inclined to make decisions based on our intuition, compassion, or imagination. We may easily sense the thoughts and feelings of others, and our words, musings, and ideas can be more imaginative and colorful, subtle, or creative. We experience a sense of knowing and understanding with minimal explanation or instruction. The day’s energies inspire fantasy and imagination. While we may not be direct, we see the way around obstacles. Today is strong for slowing down and taking things in.
OCTOBER 16
The Moon spends most of today continuing its transit of Taurus. The Taurus Moon is persistent, stubborn, and stable. At 10:30 PM EDT, the Moon moves into the sign of Gemini. The Moon in Gemini stimulates our curiosity and desire to share and interact. Whether communications are careless or we perceive them as such, the reality is that we can have some disconnects and hurt feelings with a Mercury-Chiron minor square today. It’s important to avoid taking shortcuts if we don’t feel entirely right about them. We should also avoid the tendency to keep things to ourselves if we don’t understand a matter since this can limit our growth and learning opportunities.
The void Moon occurs from 4:37 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Pluto), until the Moon enters Gemini at 10:30 PM EDT.
OCTOBER 17
Mars and Jupiter form a creative quintile, and this can stimulate our motivation to produce, act, grow, and improve. We’re excited to make our own luck. We are very resourceful and can find much to look forward to under this influence. With Venus trine the true North Node of the Moon today, we are more dedicated than usual to creating harmony, and we tend to be agreeable and cooperative, helping us reach our goals. We could feel lucky in love or business, and we might make a fortunate connection. The Moon spends the day in Gemini, keeping us active on a mental plane. We’re curious and might take the initiative to make a connection.
OCTOBER 18
The Moon spends the day in Gemini, encouraging our attention to our immediate environment, contacts, studies, and personal interests. We can be busy today, and at times, we can feel bogged down in details, snippets, and minutiae. The Gemini Moon harmonizes with the Sun in Libra tonight, promoting cooperation and reconciliation. With today’s Pluto-Chiron quintile, we’re exceptionally creative and clever about solving dilemmas, particularly those that may have been holding us back from personal growth. It’s a good day for devising strategies.
The Moon is void from 10:15 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to the Sun), until the Moon enters Cancer the next day, Saturday, October 19th, at 6:43 AM EDT.
OCTOBER 19
The Moon continues its transit of Gemini until 6:43 AM EDT when it enters Cancer. The Cancer Moon encourages us to get comfortable and seek more familiarity. Mercury’s sextile to Pluto today is intense in a productive way, stimulating a desire to get to the root of a problem. We are willing to look beyond the surface of things and investigate further. Deep insight happening now leads to better choices. Conversations are probing, investigative, and meaningful, and we may come to an improved psychological understanding of our lives. This transit is good for refining and rethinking matters as we see new layers to a situation. It has a Mercury retrograde flavor without the complications! Note that Mercury will not turn retrograde until October 31st. We’re also approaching a Venus-Saturn sextile, exact tomorrow morning, that helps us see what’s most important to us. We prefer to see one another and our relationships realistically under this influence.
The Moon is void until 6:43 AM EDT when it enters Cancer.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
When the Moon is in Taurus
We are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and "stop to smell the roses." Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence.
While the Moon is in Taurus, people can be emotionally constant but inflexible. It's a time of stronger focus on personal needs and comfort levels, and a period of more common sense and attention to practical matters.
The Moon in Taurus generally favors the following activities: Substantial and material actions that yield solid results. Financial activities, and those involving personal possessions, applying for a loan, beginning a potentially long-term relationship, music, home decor.
When the Moon is in Gemini
Our basic instinct is to communicate, think, and learn under the influence of Moon in Gemini. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, spirited, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle.
The Moon in Gemini generally favors the following activities: Mental and communicative actions, and more than one activity at once. Reading, learning, letters and emails, errands, writing, teaching, making connections, cafes, light and airy meetings, short trips.
When the Moon is in Cancer
The restlessness of the Gemini Moon gives way to an instinctive need for peace and quiet. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us.
The Moon in Cancer generally favors the following activities: Domestic activities, those that involve awareness of personal needs. Home decor, family get-togethers.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Libra Meeting yourself in another person is the keynote of a new cycle that begins for you now. Relationships – romantic, business, social – are the arena where this drama is played out. In coming to know the other person, forging ties that bind two people, you come to a better understanding of yourself. It’s easy in theory, but it’s only in practice that it comes to mean anything real – so practice until you get it right!
Mercury in Scorpio A pronounced curiosity about taboos and mysteries plays a greater part in your life now. Your mind is on cutting through the nonessentials and penetrating to the core is where your mind is at now; you want to know who (or what) pulls the strings. Sex, taxes, investments, and others of life’s most compelling phenomena may captivate your interest more than ever before.
Venus in Scorpio This is way beyond love, all the way to obsession – that’s the nature of the cycle that now takes hold in your life. We’re not talking just lukewarm WANT here; we’re talking red-hot GOT TO HAVE! Passion, jealousy, possession: these are the kinds of experiences that can flow from the intensity that courses through you at one level or another now – voracious.
Mars in Libra “I’m giving you a definite maybe” – that’s the motto of the cycle you’re now entering. It’s a time of refinement and tact, of an urge to please others that is so strong as to make it hard to decide or act for fear of offending someone. You’ll quickly learn to balance this out, or you’ll discover that there is no peace in compromise – and this can be tough on close relationships. The trick is to find the win-win solution to the no-win situation – and if anyone’s ever up to it, you are now.
Jupiter in Sagittarius Faith, optimism, and a yearning to explore all kinds of new horizons: these are some of the focal points in your life at this time. Travel, education, and other ways to stretch your horizons open new doors of opportunity. Religious, philosophical, and cultural matters are likely to have special appeal for you now; transmitting ideas on a broader scale brings gain.
Saturn in Capricorn Responsibility, hard work, ambition, and achievement: these are the foundations you need to build on now, as a new cycle dawns in your life. And yet, there is a tendency to be a little too hard, perhaps a bit cold, in your approach to these things. Let ambition take you to the top, but don’t let it lull you into thinking that the end justifies the means.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
