The NEW MOON occurs on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019, at 10:05 AM EST.
On Tuesday morning, the New Moon occurs in the sign of Sagittarius.
The New Moon occurs with the Sun and Moon’s alignment in the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius and represents a new beginning. It’s a time when we can focus on some of the constructive traits of the sign of the Archer – optimistic, enthusiastic, adventurous, honest, outspoken, independent – and consider how to positively incorporate these qualities into our lives.
Now, we can focus on goals that will increase our understanding and awareness, give us the courage to expand our horizons, and gain confidence and optimism from a broader perspective. We can too easily get lost in the details of mundane existence. With this potent Sagittarius energy, we can find ways to transcend these details of day-to-day life and nurture our faith, hope, and vision.
Because Sagittarius thinks in big terms, we may have a tendency to overdo our expectations – something to watch for. We are setting the stage for reaping the rewards from our braveries, as little or big as they may be, in approximately two weeks’ time after the Full Moon occurs.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 4 degrees and 3 minutes of Sagittarius, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 0 to 8 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.

This week: The Sun is in Sagittarius; Mercury is in Scorpio; Venus is in Sagittarius until the 25th when it enters Capricorn; Mars is in Scorpio.
The Sun is in Sagittarius from November 22-December 21. With the Sun in Sagittarius, our focus shifts from the need for an intimate connection with a person and with ourselves, to the desire to reach out to the world and connect with something larger than ourselves. While the Sun moves through this fiery, mutable sign, we can take steps to increase our understanding and awareness of the world around us. We are more able to muster up the courage to expand our horizons and branch out into new ways of thinking. We can gain more confidence and optimism by focusing on the “big picture” as we move away from our focus on the details of mundane existence. Although we may be prone to overdoing our expectations, we have the opportunity to nurture our faith, hope, and vision under this influence.
Mercury is in Scorpio from October 3-December 9. When Mercury is in Scorpio, our thoughts and communications are more probing and intense. While Mercury in Libra urged us to find balance and to arrive at fair solutions, Mercury in Scorpio instinctively knows that life simply isn’t fair. Mercury in Scorpio seeks truths in all that is hidden and undercover. We tend to probe, observe, and focus our thoughts under this influence. Looking for motivations–the more deeply buried the better–satisfies an intellectual need now. Our thoughts are profound. We throw away the superficial manners of communicating in favor of deep conversations. Scorpio is extremely sharp, profound, and analytical. Thinking is inclined to be one-track minded, focused, and even obsessive.
Venus is in Sagittarius from November 1-25. Moving from Scorpio to Sagittarius, romantic energy shifts from intense to buoyant. Sagittarius, of course, has its intense moments, considering it is a fire sign. However, its energy is considerably less focused; and, while Scorpio is most concerned with intimacy with a specific person, Sagittarius’ love is of a more universal kind. Romantic adventures, as well as a straightforward–even blunt–approach to love, are on the agenda. Gone are the intricacy and complexity of Venus in Scorpio. Truth and higher meaning are things that take priority with Sagittarius.
Venus is in Capricorn from November 25-December 20. Getting serious about our finances and boosting our relations with business partners and/or co-workers will be easier than usual under this influence. Our talents for creating artistic structure and form are enhanced, and our ability to form connections with people who support our ambitions is increased. We value enduring connections, reliability, and faithfulness. We take expressing our feelings seriously, and we take our time to warm up to others. We generally keep our “cool” in relationships.
Mars is in Scorpio from November 19, 2019-January 3, 2020. In Scorpio, Mars is driven and focused on getting what it wants. We are persevering, single-minded, and strong. The desire to experience our emotional depths, as well as the urge to penetrate the surface of life in order to explore deeper levels of existence, is powerful. We are fascinated with what others tend to repress, and are drawn to experiencing and understanding these things. We are less inclined to avoid important issues now. In some ways, we are attracted to crisis, as we see crisis as transformative and emotionally exciting. We would rather feel extreme emotions than nothing at all, as mediocrity or the “middle road” is felt to be unsatisfying.De
Jupiter entered Sagittarius on November 8th, 2018, and transits the sign until December 2nd, 2019. Read more about the Jupiter in Sagittarius transit.
Jupiter will enter Capricorn on December 2nd, 2019, and will transit the sign until December 19th, 2020. Read more about the upcoming Jupiter in Capricorn transit.
Saturn transits Capricorn until March 21, 2020; and then finishes up its transit from July 1 to December 17, 2020. Read about Saturn’s transit through Capricorn here.
Uranus is in Taurus. Uranus first transited Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and is now consistently in the sign (since March 6th, 2019) until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn how to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. We’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle. There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Sagittarius from November 1 to 25, 2019. Moving from Scorpio to Sagittarius, romantic energy changes from intense to buoyant. Sagittarius, of course, has its intense moments, considering it is a fire sign. However, its energy is considerably less focused; and, while Scorpio is most concerned with intimacy, Sagittarius’ love is of a more universal kind. Romantic adventures, as well as a straightforward–even blunt–approach to love, are on the agenda. Gone are the intricacy and complexity of Venus in Scorpio. Truth and higher meaning are focal points for Sagittarius. Venus in Sagittarius is forward-looking, not very specific, outgoing, and energetic. Freedom is most important in our love relationships now. We take a happy and enthusiastic approach to love, and we might find too much intensity or seriousness depressing. We have a taste for the exotic as well as for adventure with Venus in Sagittarius. The shadow side of this position is restlessness, the inability to settle down, and endlessly searching for something bigger and “better.”
Venus is in Capricorn from November 25 to December 20, 2019. Venus in Capricorn is a cycle in which security and stability in our relationships are paramount. We are more cautious with our emotions and somewhat skeptical of both our own feelings and others’ expressions of affection. Longevity is important to us under this influence. There is a formality to Capricorn that can make personal expressions seem awkward and forced. However, this cycle offers us the opportunity to consider some of the practical issues of our relations and to work on making our partnerships work in the real world. A dose of realism in our personal lives can help us to feel more grounded and secure in the long run.
This week: On Tuesday, we can have a hard time connecting intimately if we’re feeling vulnerable or insecure. We may be holding ourselves back temporarily.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Sagittarius November 1-25. A yearning for adventure and far horizons stirs in you now. To roam, to wander and wonder, to seek freedom and go where no one has gone before – these things are deep and powerful longings. A time of romantic crusades, a universal love that might not be too particular.
Venus in Capricorn November 25-December 20. Marry for money and then learn to love ’em: that’s what your heart tells you now, as a new cycle gets underway in your life. Does that sound cynical? Maybe so – but it does reflect the yearning you feel for security and stability now, and it suggests the kind of compromises you may be willing to make to accomplish these objectives.
Venus conjunct Jupiter November 23-24. We have large appetites for love and pleasure, and generosity of spirit as well. An excellent time (all things considered) to begin a new relationship, or renew an old/existing one.
Venus square Chiron November 26. Not a commitment-friendly transit. We are somewhat fearful of investing ourselves emotionally in a relationship.
Venus opposition North Node December 1-2. This is a time for reviewing our attachments in terms of whether they are contributing to our growth.
Venus sextile Mars December 2-3. This points to success and ease in close personal interactions. We are passionate and sexy. It is a good time for financial ventures, social life, artistic pursuits, romance, and pleasure. We are now able to take the initiative and to achieve harmony and sexual fulfillment. This influence brings satisfaction to the feelings. We may make permanent ties or relationships that prove to be fruitful and fortunate.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Saturday, November 23rd, from 9:49 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Scorpio the next day, Sunday, November 24th, at 12:58 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Monday, November 25th, from 12:30 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Pluto), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Tuesday, November 26th, at 3:11 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Thursday, November 28th, from 5:50 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:33 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Friday, November 29th, from 10:57 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aquarius the next day, Saturday, November 30th, at 3:14 PM EST.
November 2019:
Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
The Moon is waning this week until the New Moon on the 26th, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). After the New Moon on the 26th, the Moon is waxing, which is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, also with exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs from Sunday, November 24th, at approximately 12:50 PM EST, until Monday, November 25th, at approximately 12:25 PM EST, while the Moon is in Scorpio. This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus conjunct Jupiter. A potentially magical transit when we are especially generous and giving, optimistic, and kind towards others. We might also be quite indulgent under this influence. We might be tempted to overspend or overstate our feelings now. We are sociable, fun-loving, and desirous of sharing our happiness with others. We have large appetites for love and pleasure, and generosity of spirit as well. This can be an excellent influence for beginning a new relationship or financial undertaking, or for renewing and refreshing existing ties with others.
Mars opposition Uranus. This can be a time of much restlessness, rebellion, and impatience. We have a tendency to take risks and to act on sudden impulses without considering consequences. We assert our wills and individuality powerfully, and we are ready to fight for freedom. There may be changes in work schedules, or life’s circumstances could challenge us in such a way that we need to change our goals or actions. This can also be a time when we tend to resist others and challenge them if they are trying to hold us back. Arguments and confrontations are likely. Technology may be a source of irritation, electrical appliances may break down or not work up to par. Energy fluctuates now. Anger can erupt seemingly from nowhere. If we aren’t too rash or impulsive, we might be able to free ourselves from restrictive circumstances. We could also have more courage than usual to do things that break the routine, and confrontations engaged in now could clear the air and help us to move forward.
Sun semi-square Saturn. It’s hard to satisfy the ego today. We feel blocked by circumstances or others. It’s too easy to feel discouraged, but discouragement is a time-waster. Gratitude isn’t forthcoming right now, so it’s best to wait it out rather than waste energy letting it get to you.
Mercury semi-square Jupiter. We experience information overload, and we neglect to consider details. People tend to exaggerate today. Monotonous mental tasks are harder to take under this influence. Our minds are restless.
Sun quincunx Uranus. Surprise elements make us feel out of control of our lives or the direction we would like to take. Disrupted plans or schedules. Unexpected events or change of plans.
Venus square Chiron. Blocks to intimacy, learning from one another, and commitment can be experienced now. Insecurities on a social level can be magnified.
Mercury trine Neptune. Imagination and intuition run high, and are involved in decisions made today. We are in the right place at the right time. We may easily sense the thoughts and feelings of others. We express ourselves with subtle flair. Favors photography, the arts, poetry, fiction, spirituality, advertising, and promotion.
Venus trine Uranus. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements as well as financial undertakings. We are ready to experiment, but not ready to commit. Creative inspiration can be had. We have an offbeat, pleasant attitude and people are more willing to socialize. A good time for financial undertakings involving electronics, technology, the internet, metaphysics, and the arts, as well as group activities.

NOVEMBER 24
The Moon ends its transit of Libra at 12:58 AM when it enters determined, perceptive Scorpio. Venus aligns with Jupiter this morning in the sign of Sagittarius, promoting cooperation, optimism, forgiveness, and generosity, although this transit can also elevate our expectations! We can be indulgent or tempted to overspend or overstate our feelings. We are sociable and seeking out some fun. Our love of learning, exploring, and sharing are in the spotlight, and our appetite for love and pleasure especially strong. We’re opening our hearts and perhaps wallets as well. This aspect occurs along with a Mars-Uranus opposition, which inclines us to act on impulses or take risks, possibly in a short-sighted way. If we aren’t too rash or impulsive, we might free ourselves from restrictive circumstances, and this influence can provide us with the courage to assert ourselves. We tend to challenge situations that make us feel restricted or people if they seem to be trying to hold us back. Confrontations may help clear the air, but we should watch for accidents due to haste. Later today, the Sun forms a semi-square to Saturn, and this can point to some level of discouragement or a dose of reality that brings us down to earth. Gratitude may not be forthcoming right now, making it better to wait it out rather than waste energy looking for it. This influence can teach us to look for the intrinsic rewards for our actions.
The void Moon continues until the Moon enters Scorpio at 12:58 AM EST.
NOVEMBER 25
The Sun forms a quincunx with Uranus, and we could be dealing with minor changes of plans or a restless urge for change that interferes with the flow. We can experience some fear of change that stops us in our tracks, temporarily. A Mercury-Jupiter semi-square aspect also impacts our perceptions and decision-making. Venus moves into Capricorn today, and until December 20th, we are more likely to form connections with people who support our ambitions. We value enduring relationships, reliability, and faithfulness. We take expressing our feelings seriously and could take our time warming up to others. The Moon is Balsamic today with a New Moon occurring tomorrow morning, suggesting it’s better to wind ourselves down than to start brand new ventures. It’s an appropriate time to tie up loose ends and reflect on recent events.
The void Moon occurs from 12:30 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Pluto), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Tuesday, November 26th, at 3:11 AM EST.
NOVEMBER 26
The Moon continues its transit of Scorpio until 3:11 AM EST, after which the Moon transits Sagittarius. The New Moon occurs in the sign of Sagittarius today at 10:05 AM. It’s a time when we get a blast of optimistic, enthusiastic, adventurous, frank, and outspoken energy in our lives. In the weeks ahead, we might focus on goals that will increase our understanding and awareness and give us the courage to expand our horizons. It’s time to nurture our faith, hope, and vision. We are gaining confidence and optimism through a broader perspective. Venus is approaching a square to Chiron today, and we may hold back from our experiences temporarily when a better approach would be to recognize our feelings of vulnerability stirred by people or circumstances. We can feel somewhat drained before we refill with enthusiasm and motivation.
The void Moon continues until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 3:11 AM EST.
NOVEMBER 27
Neptune turns direct today after several months of retrograde motion (since June 21st). Now and in the coming few weeks, confusing situations become clearer, and our creativity soars, or at least, we are more confident about applying our creativity in the real world. Instead of thinking of this period as a time of disillusionment, we can see it as a time of illumination–when we increasingly see the light. We have more faith in our dreams and visions, in others, and our belief systems. We begin to seek inspiration from external sources. With Neptune at a station today, we may have a hard time focusing long enough to tackle a task adequately. While today’s station can point to some disorientation, Mercury heads to a trine to Neptune, and we’re seeking out mental inspiration. We’re inclined to make decisions based on our intuition, imagination, or moral sense now. We may easily sense the thoughts and feelings of others, and we express ourselves with increased flair or panache. The Moon in Sagittarius all day furthers the seeking, searching theme.
NOVEMBER 28
Mercury forms a trine to Neptune early today, and we’re working on hunches that tend to be more accurate than not. Venus forms a trine to Uranus, bringing us out of our shells, encouraging our bolder, more innovative natures, socially speaking. We are especially interested in all that is new, fresh, invigorating, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements, entertainment or pleasures, and financial undertakings. We may be experimenting, improvising, and trying on new ways of relating to others and expressing ourselves. We might discover alternative ways to make (or spend) money. We’re freer with our feelings, although a little detached, and we find beauty in the unfamiliar or uncommon. A Sun-Pluto semi-square later today does suggest some struggle letting go, and we might crave a sense of control over events, relationships, and circumstances, becoming frustrated at any sign that we don’t have it. The Moon continues to transit Sagittarius until 7:33 AM EST, after which the Moon is in Capricorn.
The Moon is void from 5:50 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:33 AM EST.
NOVEMBER 29
The Moon spends the day in Capricorn, and we can be more resolved, determined, and goal-oriented than usual. We seek order and structure in our lives. Our careers, reputation, and objectives are in focus with the Moon in this sensible sign. Situations that require us to keep a cool head work best under this influence since we’re not easily swept away by our feelings. We’re inclined to buckle down and work, organize, and plan. The Moon harmonizes with Neptune in Pisces and Mercury in Scorpio, and it aligns with Saturn and Pluto, and we’re both practical and intuitive today. Mercury and Saturn are heading into a sextile aspect, exact early tomorrow, grounding our thinking and expectations further. This is the third and final pass after Mercury and Saturn returned to this aspect while Mercury was retrograde a couple of weeks ago. We are mentally prepared, desiring more order and organization in our lives. Decisions made now tend to be practical and well thought out.
The Moon is void from 10:57 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aquarius the next day, Saturday, November 30th, at 3:14 PM EST.
NOVEMBER 30
The Moon continues its transit of Capricorn until 3:14 PM EST, and we crave results, preferring to see the reality of a situation. We’re concerned with plans, rules, and performance under this influence. The Moon heads into Aquarius at 3:14 PM, and we tune into our need to connect with others. We’re less focused on individual success and performance and more concerned with team effort. The Aquarius Moon is determined, principled, humanitarian, progressive, and non-traditional.
The void Moon continues until the Moon enters Aquarius today at 3:14 PM EST.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
When the Moon is in Capricorn
We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.
The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
When the Moon is in Aquarius
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Sagittarius You’re now embarking on a trek into a land of dreams – not passive daydreams, but vibrant visions of what may be. The time has come to stop looking at the world as it is and asking why. Now’s the time to imagine the world as it could be, and the question has become: “Why not?” You also cannot do everything you imagine now, but you cannot do anything you don’t KNOW you can do – so believe, and dare to make it happen! This means expanding your mind, your belief system, your whole base of knowledge and experience. Time’s a-wasting – let no grass grow between your toes!
Mercury in Scorpio A pronounced curiosity about taboos and mysteries plays a greater part in your life now. Your mind is on cutting through the nonessentials and penetrating to the core is where your mind is at now; you want to know who (or what) pulls the strings. Sex, taxes, investments, and others of life’s most compelling phenomena may captivate your interest more than ever before.
Venus in Sagittarius A yearning for adventure and far horizons stirs in you now. To roam, to wander and wonder, to seek freedom and go where no one has gone before – these things are deep and powerful longings. A time of romantic crusades, a universal love that might not be too particular.
Venus in Capricorn Marry for money and then learn to love ’em: that’s what your heart tells you now, as a new cycle gets underway in your life. Does that sound cynical? Maybe so – but it does reflect the yearning you feel for security and stability now, and it suggests the kind of compromises you may be willing to make to accomplish these objectives.
Mars in Scorpio Tear it down and build it up again, reach in and pluck out the offending element: that’s what the new cycle you have entered is like. Power becomes a compelling idea, perhaps even an aphrodisiac – and you’ve got a stronger than usual supply of it now. Use it, don’t abuse it – or you might find that it’s a two-edged sword!
Jupiter in Sagittarius Faith, optimism, and a yearning to explore all kinds of new horizons: these are some of the focal points in your life at this time. Travel, education, and other ways to stretch your horizons open new doors of opportunity. Religious, philosophical, and cultural matters are likely to have special appeal for you now; transmitting ideas on a broader scale brings gain.
Saturn in Capricorn Responsibility, hard work, ambition, and achievement: these are the foundations you need to build on now, as a new cycle dawns in your life. And yet, there is a tendency to be a little too hard, perhaps a bit cold, in your approach to these things. Let ambition take you to the top, but don’t let it lull you into thinking that the end justifies the means.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation.
