Daily Trends
The FULL MOON occurs on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 9:43 PM EDT.
On Wednesday night, the Full Moon occurs very early in the sign of Libra, shortly after the Sun enters Aries. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between meeting our personal needs and tending to the needs of a significant other, and between independence or autonomy and dependence or companionability. The Aries-Libra polarity is a relationship axis, where Aries represents “self” and Libra represents “other.” Where Aries is about self-assertion, Libra is about compromise. The primary energy of the Libra Moon is the awareness of the need for relationships and all that might come with maintaining them — compromising, negotiating, graciousness, and balancing. The Aries Sun, on the other hand, is self-assertive, leading, and personally courageous. The Libra Moon is diplomatic, equality-minded, and fair-minded. The Aries Sun, however, values authenticity over tact and is energized by independent efforts. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict.
With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as emotions burst forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not particularly rational as yet.
In the first degree of Libra (the Sun is at the Aries point/spring equinox), epiphanies or culminations occurring now have special significance, leading to important new beginnings and fresh starts. Something comes to full bloom and it sets us on a new path. Interestingly, the ruler of Libra, Venus, is approaching a square to Mars, the ruler of the Aries Sun, pointing to further conflict and tension between our needs for independence and togetherness. The results of these conflicts can prompt new beginnings. Note that while this Full Moon occurs at the beginning of the sign of Libra, next month’s Full Moon will be near the end of the sign, so there is more to the story and perhaps final word on it around the Full Moon on April 19th.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 0 degrees and 09 minutes of Libra forming an opposition to the Sun at 0 degrees and 09 minutes of Aries, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 25 to 30 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) and approximately 0 to 5 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

(Times are Eastern)
This week: The Sun is in Pisces until March 20th, after which it transits Aries; Mercury is in Pisces; Venus is in Aquarius; Mars is in Taurus.
The Sun is in Pisces from February 18-March 20. With the Sun in Pisces, we are guided by altruistic feelings. We are less motivated to do than we are to feel, imagine, and dream. A “what will be, will be” attitude reigns, and we are guided by a sense of universal correlations. Pisces rules empathy, selfless love, devotion, and wisdom. Its shadow side rules self-pity, a feeling of being victimized by life, passivity, and elusiveness.
The Sun is in Aries from March 20-April 20. In Aries, the Sun is enthusiastic and spontaneous. We are motivated by the desire to conquer. We are more impulsive and we want to initiate. Aries is a sign that bounces back quickly–there is little shame with Aries. There are few, if any, apologies! Aries is brave and pioneering, and somewhat innocent. We are direct and rather uncomplicated in our needs, but we can also be short-sighted and lack the desire to plan ahead.
Mercury is in Pisces from February 10-April 17. When Mercury is in Pisces, our thinking processes are more visual, intuitive, and imaginative. We are especially attuned to the world of emotion, which colors both our thoughts and our communication style. We guess well, express ourselves with imagery, and make decisions intuitively. We are more attracted to consciousness-raising information.
Venus is in Aquarius from March 1-26. We move towards unconventionality, independence, and freedom as themes in our social relationships under this influence. Aquarius can be just as faithful as Capricorn, but it has to be on his own terms! Experimental relationships are more intriguing now. Being friends as well as lovers is important to us during this cycle. Allowing one another freedom of expression, and treating others fairly, unselfishly, and impartially, are themes now.
Mars is in Taurus from February 14-March 31. We are determined, stubborn, and resolute. Mars in Taurus can be passive, and is at its strongest when resisting or defending something! In stark contrast to the impulsive Mars in Aries cycle, we tend to pursue our goals by plodding along patiently. Our goals are longevity and long-term satisfaction.
Saturn transits Capricorn from December 19/20, 2017, to March 21, 2020; and then finishes up its transit from July 1 to December 17, 2020. Read about Saturn’s transit through Capricorn here.
Jupiter entered Sagittarius on November 8th, 2018, and transits the sign until December 2nd, 2019. Read more about the Jupiter in Sagittarius transit.
Uranus re-entered Taurus on March 6th, 2019. Uranus first transited Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and is now consistently in the sign until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn how to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. We’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle. There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Aquarius from March 2-26, 2019. While Venus was in Capricorn, we valued enduring connections, reliability, and faithfulness. We took expressing our feelings seriously, and we also took our sweet time warming up to others! Generally, we kept our “cool” in relationships. With Venus now in Aquarius, we still keep our “cool” in relationships, but in a detached and impersonal sort of way. Unconventional set-ups become more appealing. Bringing the spirit of friendship into romantic relationships is a positive use of Venus in Aquarius energy. Relationships that fairly scream “alternative” appeal to us now. It’s all about being open-minded and somewhat detached with Aquarius energy dominating the love arena. With Venus in Aquarius, it’s best to go into dates with new people casually, with no expectations and no strings. Melodrama and emotionalism simply won’t work. We may also find ourselves attracted to, or attracting, people who are not our “type.”
This week: On Wednesday and Thursday, just after a relationship-focused Full Moon, we may be dealing with tensions and high-running passions. Sexual or creative tensions and competitiveness are possible, and there can be conflicts that arise from distinct differences between romantic and sexual needs. The competitiveness need not be difficult–it can be stimulating, creative, passionate, and invigorating–but there can certainly be misunderstandings and conflicts involved. At the same time, Venus forms a sextile to Jupiter, suggesting we have some help turning tensions and frustrations into positives and arriving at a greater understanding of one another.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Aquarius March 1-26. love for the unusual, a distaste for stodgy old rules and conventions, a feeling that you’re above the petty bourgeois stuff and nonsense: that’s what a new cycle brings into your life now. (“I love humanity; it’s people I can’t stand!”) Unconventional romantic and social connections are likely at a time like this.
Venus square Mars March 20-21. Passions run high under this influence. Sexual tensions and competitiveness are possible, and there can be conflicts that arise from distinct differences between romantic and sexual needs. There is an air of competitiveness under this influence, which need not be difficult. It can be stimulating, creative, passionate, and invigorating.
Venus sextile Jupiter March 20-21. This aspect generates a happy, friendly, and optimistic attitude. People are a little more outgoing and sociable. Favors travel, education, and culture. Romantic opportunities. Harmony and goodwill.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, March 18th, from 11:19 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Virgo at 9:41 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, March 20th, from 11:21 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Libra at 9:28 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, March 22nd, from 2:10 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Venus), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 10:16 PM EDT.

Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
This week, the Moon is waxing this week until the Full Moon on the 20th – a period that is generally considered favorable for new beginnings with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). The Moon is waning after the Full Moon on the 20th, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, again with exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week from approximately 9:05 AM to 11:15 AM EDT on Monday, March 18th, while the Moon is in Leo. Another window occurs from approximately 12:00 PM to 2:05 PM on Friday, March 22nd, while the Moon is in Libra. Caveats: Mercury is retrograde all week.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Mercury sextile Venus. It’s easy to make social connections under this influence. This transit favors diplomacy, charm, social graces, negotiations, presentation of ideas, romantic overtures, teaching, business deals, publishing, commerce, public relations, and joint ventures or partnerships. It is often a time when promises and clarifications are made in love relationships.
Mars trine Pluto. This is a powerful aspect that helps us to focus on our goals, to take decisive action, and to go after what we want without stepping on others’ toes. We are willing to explore alternatives rather than simply relying on the tried and true. We are not afraid of a challenge and are willing to attempt to overcome obstacles. This is a strong energy for reworking or overhauling a project.
Mercury sextile Saturn. A good time to get organized, to do detail work, and to prepare for the future. Decisions made now tend to be practical and well thought out. Work done now will have tangible results in the future.
Venus square Mars. Passions run high under this influence. Sexual tensions and competitiveness are possible, and there can be conflicts that arise from differences between romantic and sexual needs. Be wary of making impulse purchases. There is an air of competitiveness under this influence, which need not be difficult. It can be stimulating, creative, and invigorating.
Venus sextile Jupiter. Cooperation, consideration for others, cheerfulness, positive attitude towards relationships, romantic opportunities, harmony. Favors financial endeavors. Optimistic spiritual energy is brought to relationships. We tend to connect to a higher purpose regarding our personal relationships and our values, attaching meaning to them. We may enjoy a feeling of well-being now. Ease is experienced in social situations. We are freer with our affections (and our money). This is also a favorable transit for entertaining and socializing.
Mars quincunx Jupiter. We tend to take on too much—either expend too much energy or overestimate our capabilities during this transit. Poor timing is possible now, as we may be out of synch with our instincts and natural rhythm.
Sun conjunct Chiron. An opportunity to find a sense of purpose or a “mission” arises now, increasing our confidence. Alternatively, we might face life lessons that get us in touch with the insecurities that hold us back from feeling confident. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and through others is strong. Problem solving is favored.

MARCH 17
The Moon spends the day in fiery Leo, and we’re seeking action, attention, and results. Fortunately, Mercury favorably aspects Mars today, and we can be especially alert and observant, as well as extremely resourceful. Even so, this is a better time for going over the past than for making solid plans for the future with Mercury still retrograde. We can have a strong desire to do something with our ideas, to learn, to teach, or to discuss (energetically). We are especially alert and aware, although possibly self-focused. We’re also very willing to put in the effort and dedication necessary for furthering a mental interest or project.
MARCH 18
The Moon continues its transit of Leo until 9:41 PM EDT, after which the Moon moves through Virgo. We can move from a playful to workhorse frame of mind with this Moon sign change, and today’s Mercury-Venus semi-sextile can serve to subtly contrast a logical and playful approach as well. It may be all too easy to say things we don’t mean/feel. However, we seem to be able to make things work, and while we may not be especially focused today, we’re adaptable and we’re making the effort to understand one another.
The Moon is void from 11:19 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Virgo at 9:41 PM EDT.
MARCH 19
The day favors finding a responsibility or task that truly needs our attention and working hard on it. The Pluto-Vesta sextile gently motivates us to pursue our goals and commitments. We can be quite productive now, and we’re very resourceful. We might renew a project or passion, and can feel pleasantly ambitious. We’re also heading towards a Mars-Pluto trine and Mercury-Saturn sextile that both stimulate our ambition and encourage us to take empowering steps towards our goals. It can be a good time for identifying wastefulness or outdated and limited areas of our lives and our businesses–we’re not only insightful, but we’re also less sentimental in a helpful way. We might uncover a hidden or overlooked resource that helps us along. We are willing to explore alternatives rather than relying on the tried and true, but we have enough respect for the tried-and-true that we won’t pass something over just because it’s already been done. We can be very determined and focused. The Moon is in practical Virgo all day.
MARCH 20
The Sun enters pioneering Aries today at 5:59 PM EDT, marking the time of the Spring equinox and the start of the astrological New Year. The Sun will transit Aries until April 19th. In Aries, the Sun is enthusiastic and spontaneous. We are motivated by the desire to conquer. We are impulsive and we want to initiate, come first, and innovate. Aries is a sign that bounces back quickly–there is little pause for regret with Aries. It is brave and pioneering. We are direct and rather uncomplicated in our needs, but we can also be short-sighted and lack the desire to plan. Just hours after entering Aries, the Sun opposes the Moon, forming a Full Moon very early in the sign of Libra. This is a time of culmination and heightened emotional awareness. Where Aries is about self-assertion, Libra is about compromise. With the Libra Moon, we are particularly aware of the need for relationships and all that comes with maintaining them — compromising, negotiating, graciousness, and balancing. The Aries Sun, on the other hand, is self-assertive, leading, and personally courageous. This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between meeting our personal needs and tending to the needs of a significant other, and between independence or autonomy and dependence or companionability. In the first degree of Libra, epiphanies or culminations occurring now have special significance, leading to important new beginnings and fresh starts. Something comes to full bloom, and it sets us on a new path. Note that while this Full Moon occurs at the beginning of the sign of Libra, next month’s Full Moon will be near the end of the sign, so there is more to the story and perhaps final word on a matter around the Full Moon on April 19th.
The Moon is void from 11:21 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Libra at 9:28 PM EDT.
MARCH 21
The Moon spends the day in the sign of Libra, and this is a time for bringing our lives back into balance. While Libra is exceptionally reasonable, its ruler, Venus, connects with Mars and Jupiter today, pushing our expectations a little further. These aspects awaken many urges and desires, some of which may only be whims or distractions. Discomfort with the status quo can lead to highly creative workarounds and improvements, however. While disagreements are likely since contrasts seem to stand out more than usual, we’re quick to discover ways to enjoy ourselves and find meaning in our interactions. The Venus-Jupiter sextile is warm, generous, and ready to understand and forgive. A Mars-Jupiter quincunx also active today is not as gracious. We may be out of synch with our instincts and natural rhythm. Reshuffling our focus and prioritizing will be important now, helped along by a Mars-Vesta sextile.
MARCH 22
The Sun and Chiron align today, the first of such conjunctions since Chiron entered Aries, and this can pull up an opportunity to find a sense of purpose, increasing our confidence. Alternatively, we might face life lessons that get us in touch with the insecurities that undercut our confidence. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and others is active now, and problem-solving is favored. This can be a time of building faith or confidence in our skills and talents. Openness and self-honesty are vital now, and the focus may be on asserting ourselves and acknowledging our own needs in healthy doses so that we can bring our “whole self” to our activities. The Moon continues its transit of Libra until 10:16 PM EDT, however, and we need to balance our attention to our close relationships, after which time the Moon is in perceptive Scorpio.
The Moon is void from 2:10 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Venus), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 10:16 PM EDT.
MARCH 23
The Moon spends the day in the sign of Scorpio. We’re especially interested in those things that are hidden, taboo, secret, or suppressed under the influence of a Scorpio Moon. This is a good time for getting to the bottom of a matter, helping others make the best of their talents or resources, eliminating those things we no longer need, or giving our focused attention to a passion project or close relationship. We’re perceptive, observant, and investigative. We may be dealing with disappointments if we’ve been entertaining false images of a person or of ourselves in the context of a relationship, however, as Neptune forms a square to Juno today.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Leo
The Moon in Leo speaks to our "inner child". It's a warm, generous, whole-heartedly loving position. Pride keeps us from pettiness, but it can also prevent us from opening up and revealing how we are truly feeling. We are on stage, our feelings are grand, and we appreciate some drama in our lives. We are easily threatened by anything that seems to be impersonal. This is a time when we seek attention--when we want to stand out for our special qualities. It's a strong time for romance and any creative activity as well.
The Moon in Leo generally favors the following activities: Creative activities, activities involving children, generous undertakings, undertakings in which personal recognition is desired, and risk-taking.
When the Moon is in Virgo
We instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice the smaller parts that make up the whole, and instead of letting nagging details bother us, we might work on ironing them out so that we can feel more confident moving ahead.
The Moon in Virgo generally favors the following activities: Mental pursuits, work activities, services, and routines. Activities that would benefit from tending to details.
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Pisces The mystic, the martyr, the sinner, and the saint: these archetypes take on greater importance in your life at a time like this. Forgiveness, compassion, and understanding come naturally, when you look at life from an eternal perspective – and if anyone ever does know such things, you’ll probably come to understand them as this cycle unfolds. This can be a phase of sublime spiritual development, to be sure. But you should be aware of tendencies to believe too quickly, too deeply, or to become dependent on things or people that seem to offer quick and easy answers to life’s deepest yearnings.
Sun in Aries A new sense of self, a more assertive personal style, a more dynamic approach to life: these are the hallmarks of the cycle that begins for you now. Doubts fade into the background, and reserve is more and more a thing of the past. It’s time for action; your destiny is in your hands, rather than set apart. Full speed ahead (“and damn the torpedoes”) is your motto now, for better or for worse!
Mercury in Pisces Knowing things without knowing how you know them is typical at a time like this. The mystical, the universal, the eternal: these are the things that stir your curiosity. Call it psychic, call it deja vu … it can be there when you call on it, whatever you call it. (Remembering the little things might become more difficult, however: it’s tough to remember if you paid the electric bill when you’re more interested in the eternal verities.)
Venus in Aquarius A love for the unusual, a distaste for stodgy old rules and conventions, a feeling that you’re above the petty bourgeois stuff and nonsense: that’s what a new cycle brings into your life now. (“I love humanity; it’s people I can’t stand!”) Unconventional romantic and social connections are likely at a time like this.
Mars in Taurus Making the most of what you’ve got, striving for security and stability: that’s the impulse that stirs in you as a new cycle begins in your life. New frontiers? That’s kid’s stuff for you now! What you want is to build something that will last: a pyramid, a Great Wall – you know, that sort of thing. Steady, patient, solid: that’s your style now.
Jupiter in Sagittarius Faith, optimism, and a yearning to explore all kinds of new horizons: these are some of the focal points in your life at this time. Travel, education, and other ways to stretch your horizons open new doors of opportunity. Religious, philosophical, and cultural matters are likely to have special appeal for you now; transmitting ideas on a broader scale brings gain.
Saturn in Capricorn Responsibility, hard work, ambition, and achievement: these are the foundations you need to build on now, as a new cycle dawns in your life. And yet, there is a tendency to be a little too hard, perhaps a bit cold, in your approach to these things. Let ambition take you to the top, but don’t let it lull you into thinking that the end justifies the means.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
