Daily Trends
The Last Quarter MOON occurs on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019, at 5:46 AM EDT.
Early Tuesday, the Last Quarter Moon is exact, when the Sun in Cancer forms a square with the Moon in Aries. The Last Quarter Moon phase points to some sort of crisis of consciousness. After basking in the awareness symbolized by the full light of the Moon at the time of last week’s Full Moon, we disperse our knowledge and come to a point when we need to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon, when something new is born once again. This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes a descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to begin finishing up the details of that which was conceived at the last New Moon. What revelations did you have last week? What did they mean for you? What can be done now?
This phase of the Moon occurs at 3 degrees and 34 minutes of Aries forming a square to the Sun at 3 degrees and 34 minutes Cancer, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 2 to 6 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

This week: The Sun is in Cancer; Mercury is in Cancer until June 26th when it enters Leo; Venus is in Gemini; Mars is in Cancer.
The Sun is in Cancer from June 21-July 22. We are self-protective and insular under this influence. Our attention turns to our nest–our families, homes, and anything that makes us feel “at home,” safe, and secure. Nurturing and taking care of our loved ones and our pet projects come into focus. Emotions run deep. We are more susceptible to the ups and downs of the Moon while the Sun is in Cancer.
Mercury is in Cancer from June 4-26 and then July 19-August 11. When Mercury is in Cancer, we move from the desire for quantity to the need for quality in terms of the information we are attracted to. We think, speak, and take in information on a deeper, more instinctive level now. We have less interest in what is universal, and more interest in what affects us personally and what affects the people around us. Our thoughts are colored by our emotions, so it is more challenging to be objective.
Mercury is in Leo from June 26-July 19 and then August 11-29. When Mercury is in Leo, our thinking is more confident and grand. The focus is now on the goal–and the grander a goal the better! The details may not be quite as important now. We are more expressive, even theatrical and given to speech-giving and story-telling under this influence. We are also more convincing and persuasive, as we exude confidence when we speak or write. We may not listen as well as we normally do under Mercury in Leo.
Venus is in Gemini from June 8-July 3. With Venus in Gemini, we have a finger in every pie. Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels. “Variety is the spice of life” is the attitude now. We are sociable, communicative, and interested. We can be animated and fun but may also keep our distance on an emotional level. Attractions now may begin with words, as we tend to bond more readily on a mental level with Venus in Gemini. The shadow side of Gemini is fickleness.
Mars is in Cancer from May 15-July 1. We pursue our interests ardently, but we avoid a direct approach to going after we want. As well, our goals and plans are subject to mood swings and vacillations. We are defensive rather than overtly aggressive. Much of what we do depends on our mood of the moment.
Saturn transits Capricorn from December 19/20, 2017, to March 21, 2020; and then finishes up its transit from July 1 to December 17, 2020. Read about Saturn’s transit through Capricorn here.
Jupiter entered Sagittarius on November 8th, 2018, and transits the sign until December 2nd, 2019. Read more about the Jupiter in Sagittarius transit.
Uranus is in Taurus. Uranus first transited Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and is now consistently in the sign (since March 6th, 2019) until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn how to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. We’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle. There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Gemini from June 8 to July 3, 2019. In Gemini, Venus is communicative, sociable but emotionally aloof, insatiably curious, and a little bit flighty. Inconsistency with our affections is a strong possibility, but the desire for a meeting of minds is strong and the urge to socialize dominates. Some detachment from our emotions is likely, which may be a breath of fresh air for some. The lines of communication open, although we may only scratch the surface of things. Under this influence, love is playful and lighthearted. Fickleness is the shadow side of Venus in Gemini.
This week: Sunday and Monday are complicated. If we’re not in touch with our feelings or if we’re discontent, it can be a time of overreaching or pinning our hopes or desires on something that may not satisfy. We should watch for inflated expectations that play with our moods and choices. Routines in our relationships or pleasures/pastimes become glaringly unsatisfying now. There can be a lot of wandering, meandering, and a lack of groundedness. We might have troubles setting boundaries for ourselves. On Tuesday to Thursday, we could find it difficult to get close to someone or to connect with our affections temporarily. Issues of control and freedom can be the culprits, but these can also be learning experiences. Saturday is strong for taking more pride in our relationships and interactions.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Gemini June 8-July 3. Saying (or writing) it with style comes naturally now. A yen for variety is a hallmark of this phase, and this especially applies to romantic experience and artistic tastes. (The latter tends to focus on literature in general and poetry in particular.) A sociable, congenial, slightly frivolous orientation sets in.
Venus parallel Mars June 22-23. Favors romantic and sexual relationships. Intense passions.
Venus opposition Jupiter June 22-23. We are easily bored with the everyday responsibilities and routines of our love lives and are now inclined to dramatize our lives. As a result, our love natures are strong but insatiable. We may overstate our feelings as we temporarily overvalue someone, or we face challenges in our relationships due to overblown expectations. We are itching for adventure and fun, but the wisest course of action is to avoid ignoring our responsibilities (and reality) in our efforts towards self-gratification.
Venus quincunx Saturn June 23. A feeling that we may not be able to express our affections, or that our affections will not be received well, can undermine us in our relationships. Fear of rejection, emotional distancing, and over-sensitivity.
Venus square Neptune June 23-24. Relationship ups and downs characterize this transit–a time when romantic mirages are more than likely. We see what we hope to see, rather than what really is. The “highs” of a relationship begun under this energy may be thrilling, but the accompanying “lows” are bound to set in, and they can be extremely draining. Be careful not to set yourself up for disappointment.
Venus semi-square Uranus June 25. Uncertainty about the desire to be close to someone. Freedom versus closeness. A desire to experiment in the romance department may be fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying or frustrating.
Venus quincunx Pluto June 26-27. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Venus parallel the Sun June 29-30. A strong desire for harmony and comfort fill us now. We may be moved to express our affections.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, June 24th, from 7:11 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Aries at 10:38 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Thursday, June 27th, from 3:52 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Mars), until the Moon enters Taurus at 9:33 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Saturday, June 29th, from 2:39 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mars), until the Moon enters Gemini at 5:10 PM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus opposition Jupiter. The love nature is strong, but given to extremes. Over-inflated expectations and the tendency to overstate our affections are things to watch out for. We may overvalue something (or someone), perhaps in order to add more drama to our lives, or to feel bigger than life. We are sociable, in the mood to party, dramatic, extravagant, and inclined to overindulge as a result of this inner discontent and desire for more from life than daily routines.
Venus quincunx Saturn. We are extra sensitive, but it can be difficult to know why. Anxiety may overcome us when we wish to express our affections or social urges, and this hesitation can express itself through inhibitions and emotional distancing.
Venus square Neptune. Relationship ups and downs characterize this transit – a time when romantic mirages are more than likely. We see what we hope to see, rather than what really is. The “highs” of a relationship begun under this energy may be thrilling, but the accompanying “lows” are bound to set in, and they can be extremely draining. Be careful not to set yourself up for disappointment. The same goes for finances – what appears to be a great buy is likely to turn out to be a financial drain or money pit. Lines can blur when it comes to pursuit of pleasure, as we can convince ourselves to believe what we want to believe.
Venus semi-square Uranus. Unusual attractions (to people and things) can have us acting on a whim. We may deal with freedom versus closeness issues in our relationships. Avoid impulse buys at this time, and hold off on decision-making with regards to finances. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness is probable in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye with a loved one, and we could be taken off guard by unexpected events. This is not a favorable aspect for beauty treatments because they could have unexpected results.
Venus quincunx Pluto. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Sun sextile Uranus. We are willing to adapt to new circumstances, ideas, and unfamiliar situations. It’s a good time to join organizations and groups and to attend meetings or social events, as these can be enlightening. We can find creative solutions to problems now and effect positive changes. Flexibility is the key to success under this influence.
Sun square Chiron. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and through others is strong, but may be hampered by a lack of confidence or a fear of being different. We might experience a lack of faith in our own decisions. We could too easily follow others’ leads due to self-doubt, or simply to please them and out of fear of asserting our own desires.
Mercury sesquiquadrate Jupiter. We experience information overload, and we neglect to consider details. People tend to exaggerate today.

JUNE 23
Venus opposes Jupiter, forms a quincunx to Saturn, and approaches a square to Neptune, and feelings are complicated today. The Moon in Pisces is very much involved as it forms a square to Venus, and we’re especially emotionally invested. There can be restlessness and a desire for more from our relationships, pleasures, entertainment, or money. High expectations can leave us vulnerable to ups and downs now. If we’re not in touch with our feelings or if we’re discontented, we may be tempted to overreach. Routines in our relationships or pleasures/pastimes become glaringly unsatisfying now. We might have troubles setting or recognizing boundaries temporarily. We might also feel torn between two equally appealing desires, situations, or viewpoints now. Or, the dilemma could be between pleasure and responsibility, and perhaps not able to fully appreciate or deal with either.
JUNE 24
Venus forms a square to Neptune this morning, casting a veil over our needs, wants, and perceptions. Wishful thinking can impair our judgment of value, and we may be lacking discrimination, especially when it comes to people, our relationships, and material things. Lines can blur in our pursuit of pleasure as we can convince ourselves to believe what we want to believe. This aspect may stimulate infatuations, fantasies, and dreams of people or things, but also a tendency to be unrealistic enough to let ourselves down. Ups and downs are possible now on a social level. The Pisces Moon’s trine to Mercury and then Mars this afternoon and evening can excite our senses, inclining us to make something of our feelings through conversation or activities that help us express ourselves. We want to take charge. The Moon enters Aries at 10:38 PM EDT, inspiring new beginnings and encouraging our initiative further.
The Moon is void from 7:11 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Aries at 10:38 PM EDT.
JUNE 25
The Last Quarter Moon is exact this morning, signaling a time to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon when something new is born once again. This is not the best time to start a major project. The decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes a descent into unconsciousness, and it’s time to begin finishing up the details of that which was conceived at the last New Moon. It’s an excellent time to reassess matters from a more mature or experienced viewpoint. A Venus-Uranus semi-square suggests some issues that pit freedom against closeness. It can also stimulate unusual attractions to things, people, and situations! Restlessness interferes with our comfort today. However, the detours we take now may be exciting. The Moon in Aries is brave and assertive, and perhaps a little impulsive or impatient.
JUNE 26
The Moon spends the day in the sign of Aries. With this morning’s Moon-Jupiter trine, we can be feeling optimistic about our prospects, and the Aries Moon is ready to tackle any challenge it may face. The Moon’s squares to Saturn and Pluto, and early tomorrow, to Mars, suggests our responsibilities and ambitions can be loud distractions or concerns now. Mercury enters Leo today, where it will transit until July 17th. From July 7-31, Mercury will retrograde, and on July 17th, will retreat into Cancer. This means we’ll experience another Mercury in Leo transit soon enough (in August). With Mercury in Leo, our thinking is confident and grand, and clear goals motivate us. We are more expressive, convincing, and persuasive. This is a decisive cycle. As the day advances, a Venus-Pluto quincunx comes into play, and we may be grappling with issues of power and control or jealousy in our close relationships.
JUNE 27
This morning, Venus perfects its quincunx with Pluto, and there can be a tendency to second-guess feelings, relationships, and even purchases. It’s a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships, with our spending or entertainment, or related to our social lives. Fears and jealousy can emerge, seemingly out of nowhere, and they can push us to see our personal blind spots. The Moon continues its transit of Aries until 9:33 AM EDT when it enters Taurus. The Taurus Moon wants to get comfortable, but with Uranus in Taurus, we’re open to new ways of doing so. The Sun forms a sextile to Uranus and square to Chiron today, and we’re encouraged to focus on making improvements and progress today. We may be embracing new and unfamiliar circumstances, ideas, and situations, and seeking out creative solutions to problems. Flexibility and innovation can bring rewards now. Even so, a dip in confidence or faith in our resolutions or principles can lead to following others’ leads, when a better approach would be to recognize our feelings of vulnerability that may be stirred by situations in which we find ourselves now.
The Moon is void from 3:52 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Mars), until the Moon enters Taurus at 9:33 AM EDT.
JUNE 28
The Moon spends the day in the sign of Taurus, and we tend to crave comfort and predictability. The Moon’s trine to Saturn today has a way of directing us toward these things, and its sextile to Neptune ensures we’re also attending to our spiritual, emotional, or mental health needs. With a Mercury-Ceres trine, exact early tomorrow and in influence today, we’re communicating with added imagination, warmth, and consideration. This is a good time for both teaching and learning, expressing feelings, and taking part in activities in the business world, especially marketing and promoting.
JUNE 29
The Moon continues its transit of Taurus until 5:10 PM EDT, and we’re more poised and patient than usual. Earthy activities and sensual pleasures appeal now, and we find a sense of peace and contentment with those things that are familiar and reliable. The Moon’s trine to Pluto boosts our resolve and determination, as well as our powers of perception. Still, common sense rules when it comes to handling domestic matters, money, and work. The Moon transits Gemini from 5:10 PM EDT forward, harmonizing with Mercury in Leo and encouraging us to communicate and connect. Our curiosity increases, but our attention span can go the other way. Mercury forms a sesquiquadrate with Jupiter, and we may want to watch for exaggeration and misinformation–there may be a tendency to make more out of something than it deserves. We can have some difficulty concentrating on routine matters.
The Moon is void from 2:39 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mars), until the Moon enters Gemini at 5:10 PM EDT.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Pisces
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
When the Moon is in Taurus
We are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and "stop to smell the roses." Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence.
While the Moon is in Taurus, people can be emotionally constant but inflexible. It's a time of stronger focus on personal needs and comfort levels, and a period of more common sense and attention to practical matters.
The Moon in Taurus generally favors the following activities: Substantial and material actions that yield solid results. Financial activities, and those involving personal possessions, applying for a loan, beginning a potentially long-term relationship, music, home decor.
When the Moon is in Gemini
Our basic instinct is to communicate, think, and learn under the influence of Moon in Gemini. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, spirited, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle.
The Moon in Gemini generally favors the following activities: Mental and communicative actions, and more than one activity at once. Reading, learning, letters and emails, errands, writing, teaching, making connections, cafes, light and airy meetings, short trips.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Cancer Being more in touch with your emotional roots is a keynote of the cycle that now takes hold in your life. This has to do with feelings, but it’s more than that: it’s about making the things you feel and care about a reality. At some levels, this means a greater focus on family life – parents, children, relatives, the whole domestic scene. On a somewhat broader scale, you’re likely to find that houses and other real property take on greater significance for you. Nurturing is where it’s at in your life now: making things grow and taking care of them, planting seeds that will develop and survive far into the future – that’s what it’s all about.
Mercury in Cancer Gut-level is the way you think, speak, and perceive in the cycle you have just begun. You aren’t interested in the superficial; instead, you want to get right to the root of things. You don’t care about the universal, only about how things impact you and yours. Intellect and emotion mix to the point of inseparability.
Mercury in Leo The hallmark of the cycle you have just begun is thinking, learning and communicating with style. Intellectual creativity is highlighted, and your social connections have a certain flair of drama to them. Winning the admiration of others for the things you say or write (and the way you do it) takes on more importance in your life.
Venus in Gemini Saying (or writing) it with style comes naturally now. A yen for variety is a hallmark of this phase, and this especially applies to romantic experience and artistic tastes. (The latter tends to focus on literature in general and poetry in particular.) A sociable, congenial, slightly frivolous orientation sets in.
Mars in Cancer Defensive, aren’t we? With this new cycle getting underway, protecting and preserving you and yours takes on a higher than usual priority. A sensitivity to the needs and wants of others and an appreciation for their frailties (as well as your own) makes you more cautious and conservative … you pick your battles with care.
Jupiter in Sagittarius Faith, optimism, and a yearning to explore all kinds of new horizons: these are some of the focal points in your life at this time. Travel, education, and other ways to stretch your horizons open new doors of opportunity. Religious, philosophical, and cultural matters are likely to have special appeal for you now; transmitting ideas on a broader scale brings gain.
Saturn in Capricorn Responsibility, hard work, ambition, and achievement: these are the foundations you need to build on now, as a new cycle dawns in your life. And yet, there is a tendency to be a little too hard, perhaps a bit cold, in your approach to these things. Let ambition take you to the top, but don’t let it lull you into thinking that the end justifies the means.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
