Daily Trends
The LAST QUARTER MOON occurs on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021, at 3:24 AM EDT.
Early Wednesday, the Last Quarter Moon is exact when the Sun in Gemini forms a square with the Moon in Pisces. The Last Quarter Moon phase points to a crisis of consciousness of sorts. After basking in the awareness symbolized by the full light of the Moon at the time of last week’s Full Moon, we disperse our knowledge and come to a point when we need to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon, when something new is born once again.
This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to begin finishing up the details of that which was conceived at the last New Moon. We might consider our recent revelations and process what they mean to us.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 11 degrees and 59 minutes of Pisces, opposite the Sun at 11 degrees and 59 minutes of Gemini, affecting people born with personal planets and points at 10 to 14 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.

This week: The Sun is in Gemini; Mercury is in Gemini; Venus is in Gemini until the 2nd when Venus enters Cancer; Mars is in Cancer.
The Sun is in Gemini from May 20 to June 21. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. We tend to scatter our energies as a result of this curiosity and awareness of all of our options. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.
Mercury is in Gemini from May 3 to July 11. When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable. Mercury feels right at home in Gemini, one of the signs that it rules. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining a superficial knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic. We are especially astute when it comes to arguing or making a point. We are attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations. We are easily distracted.
Venus is in Gemini from May 8 to June 2. In Gemini, we have a finger in every pie. Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels. “Variety is the spice of life” is the attitude now. We are sociable, communicative, and interested. We can be animated and fun but may also keep our distance on an emotional level. Attractions now may begin with words, as we tend to bond more readily on a mental level with Venus in Gemini. The shadow side of Gemini is fickleness.
Venus is in Cancer from June 2 to 27. In Cancer, Venus is nurturing, protective and self-protective, cautious, and fertile. We experience many emotional ups and downs in love under this influence due to increased sensitivity and impressionability. We are tender, romantic, and attached. Cancer love is dedicated, warm, and devoted. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern. We are affectionate and cuddly, and are at our best when we feel safe and secure.
Mars is in Cancer from April 23 to June 11. We pursue our interests ardently, but we avoid a direct approach to going after we want. As well, our goals and plans are subject to mood swings and vacillations. We are defensive rather than overtly aggressive. Much of what we do depends on our mood of the moment.
Jupiter is in Aquarius from December 19th, 2020, to May 13, 2021, and then from July 28 to December 28, 2021. Read more about the Jupiter in Aquarius transit. Jupiter is in Pisces from May 13th to July 28th, when it retreats into Aquarius. Jupiter returns to Pisces on December 28th, 2021. There will be another part to this 3-part act in 2022! Read more about the Jupiter in Pisces transit.
Saturn transits Aquarius from March 21 to July 1, 2020, and from December 17th, 2020, until March 7, 2023. Read about Saturn’s transit of Aquarius.
Uranus is in Taurus. Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn how to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. We’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.
There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Gemini from May 8 to June 2. In Gemini, Venus is communicative, sociable but emotionally aloof, insatiably curious, and a little bit flighty. Fickleness with our affections is a strong possibility, but the desire for a meeting of minds is strong and the urge to socialize dominates.
Some detachment from our emotions is likely, which may be a breath of fresh air for some. The lines of communication open, although we may only scratch the surface of things. With this influence, love is playful and lighthearted. Fickleness is the shadow side of Venus in Gemini.
Venus is in Cancer from June to 27. We treat lovers with sympathy and tenderness, providing the emotional nurturing that they need. We tend to “play it safe” when it comes to relationships. Love and devotion are most important to us, and provide us with a sense of inner security. We seek a deep love in which we can merge souls and personalities with our lover. We are quite devoted to our partners, and we seek such devotion in return.
However, we could also become possessive, manipulative, and stifling. Familiarity is more important to us now. Our fear of rejection is overdeveloped, and we offer our hearts cautiously as a result. We pay more attention to our lovers’ feelings than their words. We feel threatened if a lover acts in an impersonal, overly independent, or detached manner. Safe and solid relationships are more appealing. Romantic and emotional hurts are very hard to forget.
This week: From Sunday through Tuesday, we can find several little things wrong with our relationships, or there can be some awkward energy in our interactions. Issues of power and control can arise, but they can be hard to discern. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge. We can be flighty with one another, unsure whether we want to be close to someone or free from ties temporarily.
On Wednesday and Thursday, we have excellent energy with us for growing through our interactions and growing a relationship. Increased cheerfulness, trust, and confidence are likely in love and social matters. We’re opening up our hearts, giving one another the benefit of the doubt, and optimistic.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Gemini Saying (or writing) it with style comes naturally now. A yen for variety is a hallmark of this phase, and this especially applies to romantic experience and artistic tastes. (The latter tends to focus on literature in general and poetry in particular.) A sociable, congenial, slightly frivolous orientation sets in.
Venus in Cancer Mothering (or being mothered), sympathy, a yearning to put down roots, and a fondness for things that have stood the test of time – these are some of the hallmarks of the phase that now begins in your life. Romantic and social experiences, as well as artistic tastes, will show evidence of these factors.
Venus conjunct Mercury May 28-29. Favors playfulness in love and enhanced communication between partners.
Venus quincunx Pluto May 30. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Venus semi-square Uranus May 30-31. Uncertainty about the desire to be close to someone. Freedom versus closeness. A desire to experiment in the romance department may be fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying or frustrating.
Venus sesquiquadrate Saturn May 31-June 1. Feelings of isolation, of not getting what we really want, and of not being loved the way we want to be loved can get in the way of pleasant relations with our partners.
Venus trine Jupiter June 2-3. Harmony and good will reign under this influence. Expansive feelings in love, and a feeling that anything is possible if we set our sights high enough, are experienced now. We are friendly, big-hearted, sociable, and optimistic. It is easy to make social contacts under this influence. Cheerfulness, trust, and confidence in love and social matters.
Venus square Chiron June 12. Not a commitment-friendly transit. We are somewhat fearful of investing ourselves emotionally in a relationship.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Saturday, May 29th, from 6:15 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aquarius the next day, Sunday, May 30th, at 12:05 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Tuesday, June 1st, from 2:14 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Venus), until the Moon enters Pisces at 5:08 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Thursday, June 3rd, from 7:11 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aries at 1:59 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Saturday, June 5th, from 6:48 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Mars), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Sunday, June 6th, at 1:47 AM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus quincunx Pluto. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Mars trine Neptune. We act on our intuition now, sexual fantasies are strong, we strive towards all that is boundless, and our creative impulses are potent. We are less tense and driven, and more relaxed. “What will be, will be” is the attitude now. Inspiration can be found now. This transit favors dancing, swimming, photography, arts, and entertainment.
Venus semi-square Uranus. Unusual attractions (to people and things) can have us acting on a whim. We may deal with freedom versus closeness issues in our relationships. Avoid impulse buys at this time, and hold off on decision-making with regards to finances. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness is probable in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye with a loved one, and we could be taken off guard by unexpected events. This is not a favorable aspect for beauty treatments because they could have unexpected results.
Venus sesquiquadrate Saturn. There may be difficulties relating to others under this influence. People may be cool with their affections and emotionally distant. Avoid new financial undertakings, as they may prove to be “money pits” as time passes. There may be anxiety or troubles with regards to matters concerned with the feelings. Romantic disappointments, unrequited love, separations, and broken engagements are the more negative manifestations. We tend to lack social confidence at this time and adopt a shy, formal, or reserved social manner. This transit is best used for reflection.
Sun sesquiquadrate Pluto. A tendency to want to control our lives through some form of manipulation is strong during this influence. Meeting with obstacles in our paths, however, can force us into the position of using all of our resources to fight back, and we can discover resources we never knew we had in the process.
Sun sextile Chiron. An opportunity to find a sense of purpose or a “mission” arises now, increasing our confidence. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and through others is strong. Problem solving is favored.
Sun trine Saturn. We feel grounded and stable. It’s easy to stick to a specific task and make headway. Productivity may be slow, but it’s steady. We have common sense at our disposal. We are willing to look reality in the eye and to take responsibility for our lives.
Venus trine Jupiter. Friendliness and optimism characterize this transit. We are big-hearted and our feelings are expansive. The outlook is cheerful and hopeful and the atmosphere is cooperative. This is a sociable, perhaps lazy and self-indulgent, time. We easily find meaning in our social connections. We are more open and trusting of friends and lovers. Integrity and loyalty are favored. A favorable influence for winning people’s trust. Speculation, advertising, publishing, and travel are favored.
Mercury square Neptune. We find it hard to follow facts, directions, and instructions. Difficulties concentrating on hard, cold facts are likely; and we may question facts altogether or avoid being pinned down for answers. This is a bad time for signing on the dotted line. Perceptions are confused, unrealistic, or too idealistic to carry weight in the real world. Conversations may be vague.
Mars opposition Pluto. Power struggles, “all or nothing” energy, the desire to force one’s agenda meets with opposition and resistance. Do what you can to avoid a contest of wills. The desire to get the upper hand is strong, but it’s unlikely to happen under this influence. It would be wise to observe whatever powerful feelings that confrontations or conflicts arouse under this influence, as this transit has a way of pulling out suppressed matter, or emotional “slush”. Passions run high, and so does sexual energy.
Note: Times given in the table/calendar above are Eastern Time (ET).

MAY 30
The Moon enters Aquarius five minutes into the day, and we are attracted to the unusual, extraordinary, and unconventional. Venus forms a quincunx to Pluto today, and we might grapple with power and control, insecurity, or jealousy issues. It’s a time of minor adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships, with our spending or entertainment, or related to our social lives. Fears can disrupt the flow, but they can help us see what may have been our personal blind spots. As the day advances, a Mars-Neptune trine, exact early tomorrow, comes into strong influence and helps open us to alternative paths. This transit is good for feeling inspired, letting go of anger, and softening our dispositions. Creative arts, particularly physical ones, are favored. It’s better to wind down or act on our visions, dreams, or compassion. We’re looking for the meaning in our experiences and ready to believe that we can make them happen.
The void Moon continues until 12:05 AM EDT when the Moon enters Aquarius.
MAY 31
The Moon spends the day in detached, fair-minded Aquarius. Venus forms a semi-square to Uranus this morning and heads toward a sesquiquadrate to Saturn, exact early tomorrow. Rumblings of the need to change unhealthy patterns with relating and spending can occur now. Anxiety or troubles with matters concerned with feelings and affections are possible until we get in touch with our true needs and wants. The Sun aligns with the True North Node in Gemini this evening, encouraging and perhaps challenging us to grow, improve, and aspire to our goals. We tend to turn to communications to do so.
JUNE 1
The Moon continues its transit of Aquarius until 5:08 AM EDT when it enters Pisces. While a Pisces Moon encourages us to have faith and let things be, the Sun is sesquiquadrate Pluto today. This transit can stimulate or aggravate fears and any feelings we may have of being powerless or overlooked. Buried emotions and motives can surface now. A tendency to want to control our lives through some form of manipulation is persistent with this aspect. However, it’s best to rise above this. The Pisces Moon helps, especially this morning when it aligns with Jupiter–an aspect that magnifies and expands our compassionate feelings. Mercury and Mars are heading toward a parallel, lending spontaneous, forthright, and energetic elements to our communications. This transit can stimulate lively thoughts and interactions as the day advances.
The void Moon occurs from 2:14 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Venus), until the Moon enters Pisces at 5:08 AM EDT.
JUNE 2
The Last Quarter Moon occurs early today when the Sun in Gemini forms a square to the Moon in Pisces. The Last Quarter Moon phase points to a possible crisis of consciousness. We’ve processed recent epiphanies, and we begin to see what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon when something new is born again. It’s not an ideal time to start a significant project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to finish up details or tie up loose ends. The Sun forms a sextile to Chiron this morning, and we might get the opportunity to find a sense of purpose or a “mission,” increasing our confidence, possibly through our communications and enterprising spirit. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and people in our lives is strong and healthy now. Problem-solving is favored, and we’re likely to feel empowered. Venus enters Cancer today, where it will transit until the 27th. Venus in Cancer is nurturing, cautious, fertile, protective, and self-protective. We experience many emotional ups and downs with our affections under this influence due to increased sensitivity and impressionability. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern, and we’re at our best when we feel safe and secure. During this cycle, we have a greater interest in home life and home improvement, nesting, home business, domestic and family activities, comfort, security, and long-term purchases. Mars and Uranus form a quintile, and we want to do things differently. We’re holding onto our individuality more tightly today. This transit can help us find channels for expressing our need for change and progress in creative and unique ways. It’s easier than usual to solve problems or to find our way around them. The Moon spends the day in Pisces, and this Moon transit is compassionate, sensitive, giving, and wise at its best and noncommittal or avoidant when challenged.
JUNE 3
Two strong trines occur today, but with quite different themes. The Sun forms a trine to Saturn this afternoon, boosting self-discipline and supporting moderation. We can enjoy a real sense of strength and pride in our ability to meet our responsibilities. We feel grounded and stable. We are more aware of our limitations–and willing to accept them. Enjoyment of our duties, work, or obligations can be in focus now. This trine occurs in Air signs, and we can feel particularly empowered communicating in practical, helpful ways. This evening, the benefics Venus and Jupiter form a trine, generating friendly energy, encouraging our desire for the ideal, and lifting our spirits. It helps to both soften and strengthen us. We are big-hearted, and our feelings are big, begging expression. Gestures tend to be thoughtful, and we’re particularly hopeful, cheerful, and cooperative. It can be a somewhat lazy or self-indulgent time, although the Sun-Saturn trine could tighten this tendency up somewhat. Our tolerance for rudeness or crassness decreases. We are especially open and trusting of others, expecting the best, and both integrity and loyalty are favored. The Moon continues its transit of Pisces until 1:59 PM EDT when it enters the first sign of the zodiac, Aries. The Aries Moon is assertive, independent, and ready for action.
The void Moon occurs from 7:11 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aries at 1:59 PM EDT.
JUNE 4
The Moon spends the day in bold Aries. With the Moon in Aries all day and harmonizing with the Sun in Gemini, we can be sharp, on the ball, and enthusiastic. We’re sociable but can go it alone as well. The Moon also harmonizes with Saturn, serving to gently and pleasantly fuel our ambitions. The Aries Moon can feel like a fresh start on an emotional level, and a Mars-Jupiter transit occurring today reinforces this theme. The ruler of Aries, Mars, forms a creative biquintile with Jupiter, stimulating our motivation to produce, act, grow, and improve. We’re excited to make our own luck. We are very resourceful and can find much to look forward to under this influence. With both Mars and Jupiter in Water signs, we can be focusing our energies on nurturing our relationships and inner worlds.
JUNE 5
Retrograde Mercury returns to a square to Neptune, which first happened while Mercury was direct on May 22nd. There can be some tendency to overlook or misinterpret facts and instructions under this influence. We can find it hard to follow facts or directions with wandering minds. In fact, this transit challenges us to see things differently. Consider that we may not need to know the answers now. Conversations can be confusing, evasive, or unsatisfying; or, we might enjoy sharing unusual ideas and fantasies. We could be dealing with self-deception or deception. It can be a time for letting go of strict attention to the rules, only if and where appropriate, and to entertain fantastical or unusual possibilities. Mercury will form a square to Neptune again while direct on July 6th. Today, we could be returning to a problem or conversation that first occurred around May 22nd. The day is complicated further by a Mars-Pluto opposition. With the Aries Moon getting between it, we’re especially emotionally invested. While tense and disruptive, it can be revealing. Pushiness tends to meet with stubborn resistance–there may be a contest of wills now. There can be a feeling that external circumstances are undermining our personal power. As we deal with these things, we may get in touch with our internal motivations. Outside forces can remind us of our need to take better charge of our lives, but shortcuts to gaining control will not work out. This transit can bring a tricky or buried issue to a head. It would be wise to observe whatever powerful feelings that confrontations or conflicts stir under this influence, as this transit has a way of pulling out suppressed matter or emotional “slush.” All in all, there can be a lot of frustrated energy that may lead to a greater understanding if we play our cards right.
The void Moon occurs from 6:48 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Mars), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Sunday, June 6th, at 1:47 AM EDT.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Capricorn
We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.
The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
When the Moon is in Aquarius
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
When the Moon is in Pisces
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Gemini The cycle which begins for you now will be marked by a more intense focus on mental and communicative activity than you may ever have experienced before. It’s a time of more involvement with other people, a time for gathering information, and a time when you’re apt to be more on the go than ever. There is likely to be an emphasis on reading, writing, studying, and all forms of exchanging information with others in the years ahead – and it will all serve as a path for self-discovery and personal development.
Mercury in Gemini A walking encyclopedia, a yen to know a little bit about everything (and everyone): these are the icons of the cycle you have just begun. Talking, writing, keeping a finger on the pulse of all that’s happening … this is a time of study and learning, a cycle of mental challenge, curiosity, and social/intellectual growth. Such things are an end in themselves rather than a means to any other end.
Mars in Cancer Defensive, aren’t we? With this new cycle getting underway, protecting and preserving you and yours takes on a higher than usual priority. A sensitivity to the needs and wants of others and an appreciation for their frailties (as well as your own) makes you more cautious and conservative … you pick your battles with care.
Jupiter in Pisces Mysticism, sensitivity to the needs of others, and an awareness of karma (the link between the present and the past): these are your paths to spiritual growth now. Addressing these issues brings you gain and satisfaction at many levels. A tolerance for differences, an understanding of human frailties and shortcomings.
Saturn in Aquarius Ideals are in for a period of testing, as a new phase begins in your life. What are principles worth, unless they are put into practice? That’s an important question for you now. This could mean you may be disappointed by causes you believe in – but if you abandon your principles, you lose.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance.
