Daily Trends
The FULL MOON occurs on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023, at 7:40 AM EST.
A Full Moon occurs in the sign of Virgo on Tuesday morning, when the Sun in Pisces forms an opposition to the Moon in Virgo. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
With the Virgo-Pisces service axis involved, this Full Moon presses us to find a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Pisces).
Virgo rules the tools and techniques we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools we employ to manage our spiritual selves.
A crisis of sorts (which can be a crisis of consciousness) or sudden awareness of a lack in our lives provides us with a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs within the context of the house polarity where the Full Moon occurs in our natal charts.
This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between work and service, practicality and impracticality, criticism and acceptance. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives.
However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us.
For now, we can’t sit on our feelings–we need to express them! Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is not particularly rational as yet.
This is an eyes-wide-open time for our work, habits, health, and routines. We are likely to receive strong messages from our intuition.
This Full Moon occurs around the same time that Saturn leaves Aquarius and enters Pisces. It harmonizes with Uranus and forms a somewhat wide square to Mars.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 16 degrees and 40 minutes of Virgo, opposing the Sun at the same degree of Pisces, and affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 13 to 21 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.
The following is a chart wheel with additional points for more detail:
This second chart wheel is of the same Full Moon, but with some additional points, such as Ceres, Vesta, Pallas, Juno, Chiron, and Eris.

This week: The Sun is in Pisces; Mercury is in Pisces; Venus is in Aries; Mars is in Gemini.
The Sun is in Pisces from February 18-March 20. With the Sun in Pisces, we are guided by altruistic feelings. We are less motivated to do than we are to feel, imagine, and dream. A “what will be, will be” attitude reigns, and we are guided by a sense of universal correlations. Pisces rules empathy, selfless love, devotion, and wisdom. Its shadow side can include self-pity, a feeling of being victimized by life, passivity, and elusiveness.
While we may not always verbalize our feelings and impressions during this cycle, they’re strong and motivating. We prefer to believe and trust, giving things/people the benefit of the doubt until they prove us wrong. We might often tune out problems or conflicts rather than tackle them head on, hoping they will iron themselves out. Prosperity flows when we’re connecting with our heart, being kind, and helping others. The need to withdraw or retreat to restore our energy is strong from time to time.
Mercury is in Pisces from March 2-19. When Mercury is in Pisces, our thinking processes are more visual, intuitive, and imaginative. We are especially attuned to the world of emotion, which colors both our thoughts and our communication style.
We guess well, express ourselves with imagery, and make decisions intuitively. We are more attracted to consciousness-raising information.
It’s not always easy to verbalize our impressions during this cycle. We don’t enjoy pinning down, labeling, or strictly defining things. We recognize that life isn’t always logical, and we prefer not to think in black and white terms. We’re sensitive and impressionable, which means we can take in more than usual, and it can sometimes overwhelm us. Pisces needs periodic time alone or within to regenerate and detox.
Venus is in Aries from February 20-March 16. With Venus in Aries, love is spontaneous and direct. The chase is very exciting to us under this fiery influence. We are bold, fresh, and a little impatient when it comes to matters of the heart. We don’t look back with Aries energy. We are not interested in saying sorry or dwelling on the past–it’s a brand new day! It’s time to make things work right now.
Aries is known for a love of the chase and the conquest, but Aries love can be longstanding as long as it remains relatively fresh. Aries is blunt–there’s no sugar-coating with Aries. This can sting, but rarely is Aries energy mean or petty. Saying it like it is is important to the sign. Desires are strong and expressed spontaneously, enthusiastically, and directly. Aries prefers to seduce rather than be seduced, to chase rather than be chased.
While Venus is in Aries, we gravitate to Aries-like activities, pleasures, pastimes, and objects of interest. Our tastes can veer toward action, new enterprise, conquests, courageous or daring acts, and so forth. We can be somewhat impulsive with our money or entertainment choices.
Our interests can be insistent and strong, but possibly short-lived. It’s not the best time for holding onto money. We might pour our resources too quickly into new ventures or projects but tire of these things just as rapidly.
Mars is in Gemini from August 20, 2022-March 25, 2023. [This is much longer than usual due to a Mars retrograde cycle from October 30, 2022-January 12, 2023.]
In Gemini, Mars is versatile and flexible but not especially determined or focused. We should watch for becoming so scattered that we’re ineffective. However, it’s an excellent period for diversifying our interests and understanding the power of our communications.
It’s an excellent time for strategizing and devising useful tactics to achieve our desires and goals. We’re resourceful and clever, and we know how to use words effectively.
Perhaps most notable during this period is our tactical skills. We know how to maneuver things to get our way. We use words to charm and express anger. We’re very talkative, and animatedly so, when passionate and enthusiastic about a topic.
Jupiter is in Aries.
Jupiter was in Aries from May 10 to October 28, 2022 before it retreated into Pisces. This was part one of two, with the second and final part in progress, occurring from December 20, 2022, to May 16, 2023. Read more about Jupiter’s transit of Aries.
Saturn transits Aquarius from March 21 to July 1, 2020, and from December 17th, 2020, until March 7, 2023. Read about Saturn’s transit of Aquarius. Saturn enters Pisces on March 7th, 2023, and will continue its transit of Pisces until May 24th, 2025, and Sep 1st, 2025, to Feb 13th, 2026. Read about Saturn’s transit of Pisces.
Uranus is in Taurus.
Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. Above all, we’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.
There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. In general, we’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money, are likely. Our income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Aries from February 20-March 16. In Aries, love is spontaneous and direct. The chase is very exciting to us under this fiery influence. We are bold, fresh, and a little impatient when it comes to matters of the heart. We don’t look back with Aries energy. We are not interested in saying sorry or dwelling on the past. It’s a brand new day! It’s time to make things work right now.
Aries is known for a love of the chase and the conquest, but Aries love can be longstanding as long as it remains relatively fresh. Aries is blunt–there’s no sugar-coating with Aries. This can sting, but rarely is Aries energy mean or petty. Saying it like it is is important to Aries. Desires are strong and expressed spontaneously, enthusiastically, and directly. Aries prefers to seduce rather than be seduced, to chase rather than be chased.
This week: On Monday and Tuesday, we’re open-hearted and readier to connect or commit than usual.
Friday and Saturday bring pleasant sparks in our relationships. It’s an excellent period for potential new or enhanced connections, particularly through communications, studies, or personal interests. We have more social courage and a stronger desire to connect to and belong with others. Sexual attraction, romantic activities, and fertility are in favor. This is a good time to spice up a relationship.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Aries Romance at the drop of a hat is part and parcel of the cycle you have just begun. Winning the hearts of others can be a challenge you’re eager to accept – and the thrill of the chase might be most of the fun. Is it the pursuit of happiness – or the happiness of pursuit?
Venus conjunct Jupiter March 1-2. We have large appetites for love and pleasure, and generosity of spirit as well. An excellent time (all things considered) to begin a new relationship, or renew an old/existing one.
Venus conjunct Chiron March 2-3. Healing energy is brought to love relationships, and a new cycle begins. A commitment-friendly transit. Love can heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings, and more willing to act upon them. This is a good time to make a resolution to repair, heal, and improve relationships.
Venus semi-square Saturn March 3-4. Feelings of isolation, of not getting what we really want, and of not being loved the way we want to be loved can get in the way of pleasant relations with our partners.
Venus parallel Chiron March 6-7. Healing energy is brought to love relationships, and a new cycle begins. A commitment-friendly transit. Love can heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings, and more willing to act upon them. This is a good time to make a resolution to repair, heal, and improve relationships.
Venus contra-parallel Mercury March 9-10. Interactions bring up questions. We tend to analyze our feelings and relationships.
Venus sextile Mars March 10-11. This points to success and ease in close personal interactions. We are passionate and sexy. It is a good time for financial ventures, social life, artistic pursuits, romance, and pleasure. We are now able to take the initiative and to achieve harmony and sexual fulfillment. This influence brings satisfaction to the feelings. We may make permanent ties or relationships that prove to be fruitful and fortunate.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.
The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.
The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, March 5th, from 10:19 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Saturn), until the Moon enters Virgo at 10:39 PM EST.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, March 8th, from 9:08 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Pluto), until the Moon enters Libra at 9:45 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Friday, March 10th, from 6:37 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Pluto), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 7:06 PM EST.
March 2023:
Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).
The Moon is waxing this week until the Full Moon on the 7th, which is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, with some exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). The Moon is waning this week after the Full Moon on the 7th, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, also with some exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, there are no clear windows of opportunity this week. The next window will occur on Sunday, March 12th, from approximately 1:30 AM to Monday, March 13th, at approximately 2:50 AM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Sun semi-square Pluto. A tendency to want to control our lives through some form of manipulation is strong during this influence. Meeting with obstacles in our paths, however, can force us into the position of using all of our resources to fight back, and we can discover resources we never knew we had in the process.
Sun sextile Uranus. We are willing to adapt to new circumstances, ideas, and unfamiliar situations. It’s a good time to join organizations and groups and to attend meetings or social events, as these can be enlightening. We can find creative solutions to problems now and effect positive changes. Flexibility is the key to success under this influence.
Mercury semi-square Pluto. “Suspicious minds” characterize this transit, although if we harness the energy, we can develop strategies to get to the bottom of any matter. Mistrust, investigations. Some level of mental stress, trouble, or pressure.
Venus sextile Mars. This points to success and ease in close personal interactions. We are feeling passionate, warm, expressive, lively and sexy. Our creativity and desire to make something beautiful is stimulated now.
Mercury sextile Uranus. This is an opportune time to attend meetings and other organized group activities, to communicate online, and to take part in activities involving computers, scientific projects, and metaphysics. Unexpected gains may be realized through such mediums. The intuition is strong, and insights seem to come from “out of the blue”. Original, creative ideas are easy to come by. We can take advantage of our ability to see things in a new light by breathing life into old projects or solving problems in new, creative ways. Varying our usual routine may be especially rewarding.

MARCH 5
With a Sun-Pluto semi-square this morning, we might crave a sense of control over events, relationships, and circumstances, becoming frustrated at any sign that we don’t have it. Tensions can surface if we’ve been holding onto worries and concerns. The more we bottle up, the more pressure builds. The Moon spends most of the day in the sign of Leo, and our feelings are strong. With the Virgo Moon from 10:39 PM EST, we seek to tie up loose ends and deal with routine matters. However, the Sun and Uranus are heading toward a sextile, exact tomorrow morning, stimulating our willingness to adapt to new circumstances, ideas, and unfamiliar situations.
The Moon is void from 10:19 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Saturn), until the Moon enters Virgo at 10:39 PM EST.
MARCH 6
The Sun forms a sextile to Uranus this morning, stimulating our willingness to adapt to new circumstances, ideas, and unfamiliar situations. Group connections can be enlightening, and we’ll do the best for ourselves if we embrace flexibility and innovation. We might arrive at creative solutions to problems and make happy improvements now. Spirits are high, and we’re excited about change. Still, it’s the day before a Full Moon, and Saturn is about to change signs, and it’s best to ride on this innovative energy but avoid jumping into something new. The Moon spends the day in practical, helpful Virgo, and taking care of details can be satisfying.
MARCH 7
The Full Moon occurs this morning at 7:41 AM EST in the sign of Virgo, and there can be a significant epiphany, realization, or turning point. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and fulfillment–an emotional time of romance, fertilization, and relationships. This Full Moon presses us to find a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, and the infinite (Pisces). Virgo rules the tools and techniques we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools we use to deal with our spiritual selves. The sudden awareness of a lack in our lives gives us a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs. It’s time to express ourselves and let things out of our systems. It’s an eyes-wide-open time for our work, habits, health, and routines. We are likely to receive strong messages from our intuition. This Full Moon closely harmonizes with Uranus, suggesting a forward-looking attitude toward making changes and improvements. We’re inventive and inspired. However, its square to Mars indicates a temptation to rush things or push our agenda too soon.
Saturn leaves Aquarius and enters Pisces today, where it will transit until May 24th, 2025 (and later from September 1st, 2025, until February 13th, 2026). During these periods, there can be some frustration in achieving practical goals until we learn to integrate our material and non-material values. We can feel uncomfortable with big shows of feeling or vulnerability/weakness. However, we limit ourselves by not fully allowing ourselves these very human qualities. While we will work hard or root for the underdog, we don’t feel comfortable feeling like we are one! We should watch for subtly conveying to others that we don’t need kindness, compliments, and support. We can be bothered by people who seem to play the victim or, on another level, are too “out there” with their spirituality. Lacking some faith or trust in our intuition (or life itself), we can frequently feel vaguely fearful. We can be more comfortable offering tangible help and advice than emotional shows of support.
We should learn to recognize how we may limit ourselves and our experiences if we deny our connection to the more vulnerable, messy, or chaotic side of ourselves. It’s a step-by-step, slow-but-sure process. Quietly working hard can be a real strength of this transit. We’re learning to allow ourselves to be creative and imaginative. We’re also capable of considerable effort and hard work in support and service. It’s easier for us to put our egos aside to get things done.
MARCH 8
The Moon continues its transit of Virgo until 9:45 AM EST, harmonizing with Pluto, and we want to better ourselves or our situation. The Moon in Libra from 9:45 AM forward encourages us to be fair and objective and to use our people skills. This transit is conciliatory and gracious, helping us see the other side of a story. We’re focusing on creating balance and harmony.
The Moon is void from 9:08 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Pluto), until the Moon enters Libra at 9:45 AM EST.
MARCH 9
With the Libra Moon all day, we seek to harmonize and balance our lives. The Moon opposes Jupiter and Chiron around midday, and we might struggle to pull ourselves out of an adventurous or restless mindset to focus on the moment. Although we’re more sensitive to imbalances, we do what we can to harmonize. We’re more likely to seek feedback or someone to share ideas and feelings with. We’re idealistic and considerate. It’s a time of the lunar month when we see a different perspective or opposite viewpoint more readily, which can lead to more indecision than usual.
MARCH 10
The Moon continues its transit of Libra until 7:06 PM EST, when it moves into Scorpio. We tend to analyze our feelings and relationships. Mercury and Jupiter form a semi-sextile today, suggesting some inability to settle on a particular idea, opinion, or project. However, we think positively and bounce back quickly from disappointment. Still, Mercury’s semi-square with Pluto can find us mildly skeptical later today. This influence can excite some tension or mental distress and worry. We tend to obsess over an issue that we can’t control. We’re somewhat mistrustful under this influence, although if we harness the energy and use it for good, we can develop strategies to get to the bottom of a matter.
The void Moon occurs from 6:37 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Pluto), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 7:06 PM EST.
MARCH 11
Venus forms a sextile to Mars this morning, and we take a creative approach to our relationships and projects. This transit supports flow and ease in close personal interactions without sacrificing engagement. We can make connections that prove fruitful and fortunate, and business relationships and pursuits can prosper. We might express our affection through our actions and feel compelled to create something beautiful. We are also more interactive and charming than usual. Mercury’s sextile to Uranus encourages alternative approaches, new ideas, and scientific thinking. Intuition is strong, and insights are quick and exciting. Original, creative ideas and theories come naturally. We can take advantage of this by solving problems in new, innovative ways. Varying our usual routine may be especially rewarding, and ideas to do so abound.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Leo
The Moon in Leo speaks to our "inner child". It's a warm, generous, whole-heartedly loving position. Pride keeps us from pettiness, but it can also prevent us from opening up and revealing how we are truly feeling. We are on stage, our feelings are grand, and we appreciate some drama in our lives. We are easily threatened by anything that seems to be impersonal. This is a time when we seek attention--when we want to stand out for our special qualities. It's a strong time for romance and any creative activity as well.
The Moon in Leo generally favors the following activities: Creative activities, activities involving children, generous undertakings, undertakings in which personal recognition is desired, and risk-taking.
When the Moon is in Virgo
We instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice the smaller parts that make up the whole, and instead of letting nagging details bother us, we might work on ironing them out so that we can feel more confident moving ahead.
The Moon in Virgo generally favors the following activities: Mental pursuits, work activities, services, and routines. Activities that would benefit from tending to details.
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Pisces The mystic, the martyr, the sinner, and the saint: these archetypes take on greater importance in your life at a time like this. Forgiveness, compassion, and understanding come naturally, when you look at life from an eternal perspective – and if anyone ever does know such things, you’ll probably come to understand them as this cycle unfolds. This can be a phase of sublime spiritual development, to be sure. But you should be aware of tendencies to believe too quickly, too deeply, or to become dependent on things or people that seem to offer quick and easy answers to life’s deepest yearnings.
Mercury in Aquarius The tried and true doesn’t cut it anymore: it’s the new, the unique, and the original that catches and holds your interest now. Idealism, rationality, and critical thinking become more and more a part of your mental patterns and the way you communicate. You are inventive, original, high tech.
Mercury in Pisces Knowing things without knowing how you know them is typical at a time like this. The mystical, the universal, the eternal: these are the things that stir your curiosity. Call it psychic, call it deja vu … it can be there when you call on it, whatever you call it. (Remembering the little things might become more difficult, however: it’s tough to remember if you paid the electric bill when you’re more interested in the eternal verities.)
Mars in Gemini Learning, communicating, the exchange of ideas: these are the experiences you crave as a means to make your mark now, as a new phase begins in your life. You’re a person with something to say, and you realize that others have information that is essential to your goals. A time of much mental energy and initiative … perhaps with an element of conflict tossed in for good measure.
Jupiter in Aries Faith in yourself and your future is emphasized as you begin this new cycle. A feeling that anything is possible leads to new ventures, a clean break from the past. At its best, this is a very positive and optimistic new cycle in your life, but at times, overconfidence can border on foolhardy bravery. Don’t burn your bridges behind you!
Saturn in Aquarius Ideals are in for a period of testing, as a new phase begins in your life. What are principles worth, unless they are put into practice? That’s an important question for you now. This could mean you may be disappointed by causes you believe in – but if you abandon your principles, you lose.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone, and everyone in their place…
