The FULL MOON occurs on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 11:31 PM EDT.
Late Monday, a Full Moon occurs when the Sun in Taurus forms an opposition to the Moon in Scorpio. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Taurus-Scorpio polarity deals with the balance between all that is mine (Taurus) and all that is yours (Scorpio). It also emphasizes the concept of form (Taurus) versus transformation (Scorpio). While Taurus deals with matter, personal values, material goods, possessions, and security, Scorpio rules the destruction of form, shared possessions, change, and transformation. The Sun in Taurus encourages happiness with the simple, tangible things in life, while the Scorpio Moon draws our attention to complexities, intangibles, and mysteries.
Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about emotional declarations. Something has been building inside of us, likely of an intimate nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out.
Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this declaration means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings — we need to express them. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between collecting and sharing. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives.
However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as emotions burst forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not particularly rational as yet.
Full Moons are about exposing or illuminating issues that are already there, but that have not yet been dealt with. Where does the Full Moon fall by house in your natal chart? Read more here.
We have conviction and tenacity, and we are willing to make necessary changes, but there can be some tension and impatience involved with our revelations now. The Sun aligns with Uranus and the Sun and Moon form a square to Saturn. Read more about the Saturn-Uranus square that’s an integral part of the astrology of the year 2021.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 7 degrees and 6 minutes of Scorpio opposite the Sun at 7 degrees and 6 minutes of Taurus, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 3 to 11 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.

This week: The Sun is in Taurus; Mercury is in Taurus; Venus is in Taurus; Mars is in Cancer.
The Sun is in Taurus from April 19 to May 20. In Taurus, the Sun is methodical, sensual, and receptive. The Sun in Taurus is most active when it is defending or resisting things! As the Sun moves through Taurus when plants take root, our determination and security needs are strong. Taurus is loyal to all that is familiar, and values longevity. The shadow side of Taurus is possessiveness and bullheadedness.
Mercury is in Taurus from April 19 to May 3. When Mercury is in Taurus, our thinking is down to earth, solid, and grounded. Common sense reigns over more fanciful thinking. We communicate more deliberately under this influence, and our minds are oriented to the world of the five senses. We prefer the tried and true rather than new ways of thinking. Attention to one thing at a time can simplify our lives, but we may be in danger of narrow, overly conservative, or rigid thinking.
Venus is in Taurus from April 14 to May 8. In Taurus, Venus is very sensual (naturally), content, and possessive. We seek security and value that which lasts. Our appetite for pleasure is strong. Taurus values the here and the now as well as the world of the five senses. Tangible and physical expressions of love and romance are most important now. Holding on to someone we love is our tendency under Venus in Taurus. The shadow side of this is excessive possessiveness and treating our partners as objects that we own or want to own. On the financial side, Venus in Taurus looks for high-quality, solid, practical, and long-lasting items. Holding on to our possessions is more likely now.
Mars is in Cancer from April 23 to June 11. We pursue our interests ardently, but we avoid a direct approach to going after we want. As well, our goals and plans are subject to mood swings and vacillations. We are defensive rather than overtly aggressive. Much of what we do depends on our mood of the moment.
Jupiter is in Aquarius from December 19th, 2020, to May 13, 2021, and then from July 28 to December 28, 2021. Read more about the Jupiter in Aquarius transit.
Saturn transits Aquarius from March 21 to July 1, 2020, and from December 17th, 2020, until March 7, 2023. Read about Saturn’s transit of Aquarius.
Uranus is in Taurus. Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn how to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. We’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.
There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Taurus from April 14 to May 8. In Taurus, Venus is usually quite content, but can be possessive.
This week: Early on Sunday, there can be a checkpoint moment for our relationships. Temporarily, we fear the worst and see the flaws. There can be some emotional distance or blockage, and ideally, it’s a time for reaching a new level of maturity and realism in your relationships. Relationship goals can very much clash with social life goals now. As the day progresses, however, we are more communicative and diplomatic. We’re inclined to talk about our feelings, connections, affections, and relationships.
On Thursday and Friday, watch for impulsiveness and impatience. Someone may be pushy or crude when we crave something more refined or subtle, or someone is being subtle when we crave a more straightforward approach. Some pulling back can occur in relationships now.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Taurus A love of music, an appreciation for sensual pleasures and others of the finer things in life – such are the signs of the cycle which has begun for you. This is aesthetic and artistic to be sure, but it is also practical and materialistic: you develop a keen appreciation for the value of things, including the money it takes to buy them.
Venus semi-square Neptune April 19-20. Romantic confusion as well as relationship ups and downs. Self-deceptions may come to light now.
Venus conjunct Uranus April 22. We have a taste for the unusual and the avant garde. We are itching for a change. What makes a person unique is more attractive under this influence. Excitement and newness are valued over permanence in social relationships. Freedom is more important than intimacy just now. We lose our fears of taking risks in love and social situations. Romantic infatuations, gossip, unanticipated opportunities socially or financially. We have a greater need for self-expression, personal freedom, and social excitement.
Venus parallel Uranus April 22-23. We embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit. Peculiar, sudden, or avant garde attractions. This is an exciting but unstable energy. Friendship in love relationships becomes more important.
Venus square Saturn April 24-25. Feeling unsatisfied, isolated, and unloved. Personal relationships are likely to be strained as we express our affections cautiously and sparingly. If we believe we are not getting what we want in love, we attract negative situations and challenges in our relationships. This is not a good time to begin a new relationship–new ones begun now are likely to be stamped with themes of duty and restriction.
Venus conjunct Mercury April 25. Favors playfulness in love and enhanced communication between partners.
Venus semi-square Mars April 29-30. Tensions in relationships. Attempting to satisfy romantic needs and assertive/sexual needs simultaneously can be challenging.
Venus contra-parallel Saturn April 30. We may express our affection sparingly, but also responsibly and in practical ways. Relationships begun under this influence often feel burdensome over time, but they may last longer than most. Some pulling back can occur in relationships now, as we are more self-conscious and cautious with our affections.
Venus sextile Neptune May 2. Unusual attractions that add imagination, inspiration, and emotional “color” to our lives may occur now. We are attuned to the subtleties of human interaction, and we are more inclined to naturally cooperate with others. An imaginative, romantic time.
Venus semi-square Chiron May 5. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves.
Venus trine Pluto May 5-6. Powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships. New insights into relationships and love. Strong attractions. Relationships are intense and deep, but not draining.
Venus square Jupiter May 7-8. We experience a strong desire for more pleasure in our lives, which can be excessive. Take care not to overstate your feelings or to set up unrealistic expectations in your partnerships. As well, take what your partner says with a grain of salt. There is no malicious intent involved, but feelings of elation can cloud our judgment, and we can promise more than we can deliver.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, April 26th, from 8:40 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 12:19 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, April 28th, from 8:32 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 11:43 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, April 30th, from 9:27 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 12:16 PM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus square Saturn. Gaining what we want is challenging under this influence, due to negative attitudes and the tendency to need more than what is possible. Difficulties socializing with others stem from an increased sensitivity to rejection as well as stiffness with the affections. Emotional distance in relationships. Avoid new financial undertakings, as they may prove to be “money pits” as time passes.
Mercury square Saturn. Getting from point A to point B can be a challenge during this transit due to obstacles. Communications may be blocked or delayed, and negative thinking could dominate at this time. Projects we thought were complete may need revision, and others could appear overly critical, insensitive, or sarcastic. It’s difficult to trust our instincts, and we second-guess things automatically under this influence. Avoid signing on the dotted line at this time.
Mercury conjunct Venus. Lighthearted conversations, sociability, humor, cooperation. Good time for socializing and for communicating with ease, telling others how we feel, and negotiating. Mentally, we’re not as disciplined as usual, as we prefer to chat with others and to think about more “pleasant” things than work. Generally favorable for commerce.
Sun semi-square Neptune. Our willpower is low as we stray from our goals and temporarily lose focus. It’s difficult to formulate — or stick to — clear goals during this transit. Concentrating on artistic or spiritual pursuits is better than focusing on matters that require straightforward, factual thinking today. It can be difficult knowing where or how to direct our willpower under this influence. It’s also a challenge knowing where we stand with others. Avoid such things as scheduling surgery, important appointments, job interviews, or launches of new projects at this time.
Mercury semi-square Mars. We are quick-witted and ready to argue under this influence. We may be working under stressful or hectic conditions, as we feel pressure to get things done quickly. We are inclined to be snappy and irritable, and we may too easily interrupt others rather than listen. Conflicts of interest are likely.
Mercury sextile Neptune. Intuition runs high; we are more sensitive artistically; imagination is stirred; and we have an increased appreciation for subtleties. We are inspired and we are able to inspire others with our words.
Venus semi-square Mars. Potential tensions in relationships. Attempting to satisfy romantic needs and assertive/sexual needs simultaneously can be challenging. Be wary of making impulse purchases. There is an air of competitiveness under this influence, which need not be difficult. It can be stimulating and invigorating.
Sun conjunct Uranus. A new cycle of independence, progressiveness, and change begins. We are more inclined to accept and appreciate all that is new, unusual, and avant garde. We have an opportunity to shine for what makes us unique. Favors the media, computers, metaphysical subjects. Restlessness and a need for change. Restriction is not tolerated now. Our egos are awakened and we seek new ways to express ourselves. There is a need to be creative and unique in our expression of self. This is usually a time to join with groups and/or to become a group leader. It’s also an easy time to make new friends. Sudden, unexpected events can happen out of the blue.
Mercury semi-square Chiron. Communications may be careless, hurtful or perceived as hurtful under this influence. It can be hard to read the intention behind the words used to communicate now. There may be impatience with rules, worry or guilty feelings, and conflicting viewpoints now.
Mercury trine Pluto. Our mental faculties are attuned to otherworldly impressions, offering us increased insight, psychological understanding and awareness, and focused attention.

APRIL 25
Venus forms a square to Saturn very early today, and Mercury does the same this morning. We might focus on the negative possibilities, which can be the first step before we get to a place of realism. We can be preoccupied with serious or weighty issues. There can be difficulties getting our message across or physically getting somewhere. Instead, we may need to revise a project or idea, and people may seem overly critical, insensitive, or sarcastic. With this Mercury-Saturn influence, it’s challenging to trust our instincts temporarily. It may be best to seek the motivation to make changes rather than focus too heavily on flaws and limitations. This evening, Mercury and Venus form a conjunction, and as the day advances, we’re more inclined to hash things out, compliment, see the positives, and enjoy our exchanges. We might intellectualize or analyze our feelings. It’s an excellent time to reach agreements or negotiate with others. This transit is a cooperative influence that stimulates our desire for harmony and balance, which can mean we don’t dig too deeply. The Moon spends the day in balanced, friendly, and gracious Libra.
APRIL 26
The Moon continues its transit of Libra until 12:19 PM EDT, after which it heads into Scorpio, reaching full at 11:31 PM EDT. This Full Moon in Scorpio reminds us of the need to consider others’ support, contribution, needs, wants, and input, possibly forcing awareness of relationship imbalances. If we’ve been focusing too closely on our material and comfort needs, we may need this cosmic nudge to embrace intangibles and spiritual growth. Discoveries we make now can have a magical or private quality to them. The Full Moon is a time of culmination, and with the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic illumination occurs in our lives. These new revelations are emotional ones–feelings burst forth into our consciousness. We have conviction and tenacity now, and we are willing to make necessary changes, although our revelations can involve some tension. This can be a good day for recognizing patterns, particularly in our emotional world, and making adjustments and improvements accordingly.
The void Moon occurs from 8:40 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 12:19 PM EDT.
APRIL 27
The Sun forms a semi-square with Neptune early today, and there may be some indecision or listlessness. Our willpower may not be as strong as usual as we stray from our goals and temporarily lose focus. This aspect serves as a gentle reminder to consider our needs for downtime, fantasy, or spiritual refreshment. Pluto stations and turns retrograde today and will continue its retrograde until October 6th. This shift of direction tends to bring about some initial confusion, heaviness, and magnification of problems. Pluto’s retrograde cycle itself, however, is an excellent period for research and gaining new insight into our self-destructive tendencies, control needs, and search for the truth by looking within. Outward pressures may ease somewhat during this period. Over the coming months, we may be reassessing how we use our power. Mercury’s semi-square to Mars can produce some tension that fuels our motivation to make a change. We can be quick to come up with ideas or retorts, but we can be a little nervous and snappy under this influence. If we allow ourselves to succumb to the pressure to get things done quickly, we may be working under stressful or hectic conditions. It’s not an ideal transit for patience and listening to one another. The Moon spends the day in perceptive, passionate Scorpio.
APRIL 28
The Moon continues its transit of Scorpio until 11:43 AM EDT, forming a square to Jupiter this morning. This Moon draws us to transformative and emotionally exciting experiences. We’re interested in discovering deeper truths and motives. While we crave more intimacy, we’re also gunning for our sense of freedom. The Sagittarius Moon from 11:43 AM onward is adventurous, bold, and philosophical. We’re likely to feel enthusiastic, confident, and forward-looking.
The void Moon occurs from 8:32 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 11:43 AM EDT.
APRIL 29
Today’s Mercury-Neptune sextile expands our minds and encourages our imagination. With this transit, we can experience a sense of knowing and understanding with minimal explanation or instruction. Intuition is highlighted or awakened, and we tend to apply it to practical matters creatively. We have an increased appreciation for subtleties, which aids our understanding of others and situations. We’re also heading to a Venus-Mars semi-square, which can be problematic, introducing some tendency to impatience. This aspect can create a tense and competitive or stimulating and invigorating environment, depending on how we approach it! This aspect tends to highlight differences in our approaches, desires, and needs, and tensions in relationships can result. The Moon spends the day in spirited Sagittarius.
APRIL 30
The Moon continues its transit of Sagittarius until 12:16 PM EDT, at which time it enters Capricorn. With the Capricorn Moon, we crave results, preferring to see the reality of a situation. We pay stronger attention to our responsibilities and the structures in our lives. However, the Sun aligns with Uranus in the sign of Taurus today, stimulating change, a new modus operandi, interruption or disruption, and a strong desire to feel free. We seek new ways of enjoying and expressing ourselves, handling money and possessions, and getting comfortable. We can be progressive and pioneering, but possibly also defiant or rebellious. With Uranus, some level of detachment or decrease in sentimentality seems necessary to break free from limiting situations. We gravitate to what’s unusual or avant-garde. With Uranus in Taurus, we’re changing the ways we view and use money and personal possessions. Our values are evolving, and the energies of today tend to spotlight this theme. We’re also inclined to break the rules or go against tradition and expectations.
The void Moon occurs from 9:27 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 12:16 PM EDT.
MAY 1
The Moon spends the day in the sign of Capricorn, encouraging our attention to our practical priorities. The Moon forms trines to Uranus and the Sun–bodies that just met in a conjunction. An innovative spirit follows us, even with the innate conservatism of the Capricorn Moon. Mercury’s semi-square to Chiron suggests some misunderstandings. This transit challenges us to communicate with more sensitivity. While it can point to a tendency to doubt our perceptions, as the day advances, we head towards a Mercury-Pluto trine, exact tomorrow morning, that helps us discern and focus our minds.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
When the Moon is in Capricorn
We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.
The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Taurus The cycle now dawning in your life emphasizes stability, substance, practicality, and the concept of value – value in the material as well as psycho-spiritual sense. This marks a time of building to last, of appreciating the substantial rather than ephemeral. Consolidating past gains rather than focusing on radical new departures is likely to be a major theme for you during this cycle. Appreciating the finer things of life is another hallmark of this phase, which marks a time when you should be concentrating on “smelling the roses” rather than passing them by in such a hurry.
Mercury in Taurus “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” – that’s the key to the way you think at a time like this. Practical, utilitarian ideas are the ones that make the most sense now – putting them to good use is a focus for you. Material things are foremost on your mind in many respects: an emphasis on the real rather than the ideal.
Mars in Cancer Defensive, aren’t we? With this new cycle getting underway, protecting and preserving you and yours takes on a higher than usual priority. A sensitivity to the needs and wants of others and an appreciation for their frailties (as well as your own) makes you more cautious and conservative … you pick your battles with care.
Jupiter in Aquarius Innovation, reform, and idealism are your paths to growth and gain now. New, futuristic ideas are part of this, but it’s more than that: putting them into practice is essential because this is much more than empty idealism. A break from the past, a willingness to flaunt convention.
Saturn in Aquarius Ideals are in for a period of testing, as a new phase begins in your life. What are principles worth, unless they are put into practice? That’s an important question for you now. This could mean you may be disappointed by causes you believe in – but if you abandon your principles, you lose.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone, and everyone in their place…
