Daily Trends
A NEW MOON occurs on Tuesday, November 29th, 2016, at 7:18 AM EST. On Tuesday morning, a New Moon occurs in the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius. This lunation represents a new beginning. It’s a time when we can focus on some of the constructive traits of the sign of the Archer – optimistic, enthusiastic, adventurous, honest, outspoken, independent – and consider how to positively incorporate these qualities into our lives. Now, we can focus on goals that will increase our understanding and awareness, give us the courage to expand our horizons, and gain confidence and optimism through a broader perspective. We can too easily get lost in the details of mundane existence.
With this potent Sagittarius energy, we can find ways to transcend these details of day-to-day life and nurture our faith, hope, and vision.
Because Sagittarius thinks in big terms, we may have a tendency to overdo our expectations – something to watch for, particularly with the New Moon in a square relationship with Neptune in Pisces on the Nodal axis. It’s time to be a little more adventurous and to set the stage for reaping the rewards from our braveries, as little or big as they may be, in approximately two weeks’ time after the Full Moon occurs.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 7 degrees and 43 minutes of Sagittarius, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 4 to 12 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.

The Sun is in Sagittarius; Mercury is in Sagittarius until December 2nd when it enters Capricorn; Venus is in Capricorn; Mars is in Aquarius.
The Sun is in Sagittarius from November 21-December 21. With the Sun in Sagittarius, our focus shifts from the need for an intimate connection with a person and with ourselves, to the desire to reach out to the world and connect with something larger than ourselves. While the Sun moves through this fiery, mutable sign, we can take steps to increase our understanding and awareness of the world around us. We are more able to muster up the courage to expand our horizons and branch out into new ways of thinking. We can gain more confidence and optimism by focusing on the “big picture” as we move away from our focus on the details of mundane existence. Although we may be prone to overdoing our expectations, we have the opportunity to nurture our faith, hope, and vision under this influence.
Mercury is in Sagittarius from November 12-December 2. When Mercury is in Sagittarius, our thinking shifts from a need to plumb the depths of any given situation to the desire to learn about a wide range of topics. Ideals are sought, our thinking is more optimistic, and our faith increases. We are more equipped to believe and to persuade. What is fair and unfair concerns us most now. However, we are not always very precise under this influence.
Mercury is in Capricorn from December 2-January 4. When Mercury is in Capricorn, our thinking is methodical and our focus is sober and practical. It is easier to concentrate on the task at hand under this influence. Our conversations may be quite realistic or focused on business/practical matters. Our thought patterns and communication styles become more logical, orderly, and organized. We are more able to sort out what is relevant and essential. Realism enters the picture, our speech is no-nonsense, and precision becomes important to us. We need to be wary of becoming too rigid in our thinking. We may come across as cold or harsh. For some, there is a fine line between realism and pessimism.
Venus is in Capricorn from November 11-December 7. Getting serious about our finances and boosting our relations with business partners and/or co-workers will be easier than usual under this influence. Our talents for creating artistic structure and form are enhanced, and our ability to form connections with people who support our ambitions is increased. We value enduring connections, reliability, and faithfulness. We take expressing our feelings seriously, and we take our time to warm up to others. We generally keep our “cool” in relationships.
Mars is in Aquarius from November 9-December 19. Dynamic yet erratic energy levels, achieving our goals through hit-or-miss tactics, and impersonal expression of anger are characteristics of Mars in Aquarius. We are team players–cooperative and less concerned about personal power. We are attracted to unconventional methods and tend to approach problems from an intellectual, detached perspective.
Saturn transits Sagittarius from December 23, 2014, to June 14, 2015, and then from September 17, 2015, to December 20, 2017. Read about Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius here.
Jupiter entered Libra on September 9th and will transit Libra until October 10, 2017. Read about Jupiter in Libra here.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Capricorn from November 11-December 7. Venus in Capricorn is a cycle in which security and stability in our relationships is paramount. We are more cautious with our emotions, and we’re somewhat skeptical of both our own feelings and others’ expressions of affection. Longevity is important to us under this influence. There is a formality to Capricorn that can make personal expressions seem awkward and forced. However, this cycle offers us the opportunity to consider some of the practical issues of our relations and to work on making our partnerships work in the real world. A dose of realism in our personal lives can help us to feel more grounded and secure in the long run.
This week: We may be temperamental when it comes to our feelings and affections on Monday and Tuesday. Emotions can be chaotic, and we may crave both freedom and closeness, swinging between the two. We can certainly learn a lot about our own feelings about someone. On Friday, we may be seeing our relationships through the lens of wishful thinking.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Capricorn Marry for money and then learn to love ’em: that’s what your heart tells you now, as a new cycle gets underway in your life. Does that sound cynical? Maybe so – but it does reflect the yearning you feel for security and stability now, and it suggests the kind of compromises you may be willing to make to accomplish these objectives.
Venus sextile Chiron November 28-29. Love has the power to heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings and more willing to act upon them.
Venus square Uranus November 29. We might have to deal with issues of freedom versus intimacy during this period. Peculiar or impulsive attractions are exciting, but unlikely to last very long. Treat them as passing fancies, and enjoy them while they last–but try to hold off on making any big decisions with regards to love today.
Venus semi-square Neptune December 2. Romantic confusion as well as relationship ups and downs. Self-deception may come to light now.
Venus parallel the Sun December 5-6. A strong desire for harmony and comfort fill us now. We may be moved to express our affections.
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology). Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, November 27th, from 4:49 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Venus), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Monday, November 28th, at 3:46 PM EST.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, November 30th, from 11:09 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Mercury), until the Moon enters Capricorn the next day, Thursday, December 1st, at 3:53 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Saturday, December 3rd, from 5:17 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Venus), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 2:45 PM EST.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Sun sesquiquadrate Uranus. During this transit, we feel the need for action, but if we don’t know where we’re headed, we might take the wrong turn. Unexpected changes in plans or events can test our patience, and we might feel a bit out of control. However, they could stimulate us to try new approaches and they certainly act to cut boredom. This transit could offer us the drive to do something new, but avoid making hasty major decisions for the time being.
Venus sextile Chiron. We have the chance to heal our personal relationships now, as we are more open to intimacy and commitment, as well as learning from one another. We more easily see beauty in human weaknesses. It’s a strong time for building trust in relationships.
Venus square Uranus. Values and tastes may clash, and group activities may suffer as a result. Impulsive attractions to both people and material goods can lead us astray. Avoid impulse buys at this time. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness is probable in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye, and we might be taken off guard by unexpected events. This is not a favorable aspect for beauty treatments because they could have unexpected results. We may struggle with freedom versus intimacy issues at this time. Hold off on decision-making with regards to finances.
Sun square Neptune. Concentrating on artistic or spiritual pursuits is better than focusing on things that require straightforward, factual thinking today. It can be difficult knowing where or how to direct your willpower under this influence. It’s also a challenge knowing where you stand with others. Avoid such things as scheduling surgery, important appointments, job interviews, or launches of new projects at this time.
Mars trine Jupiter. Decisive action comes naturally now. We possess willpower, verve, and energy that we can direct toward achieving our goals. Success in contracts, negotiations, and business deals comes easily. We want to branch out and take on more challenges. A good time for making new goals or to initiate new projects (all things equal). Optimism and enthusiasm; adventurous spirit. Positive attitudes create winning situations now. Friendly competition. Taking action to better our lives.
Venus semi-square Neptune. Happiness is addictive under this influence. We tend to see what we want to see. Glossing over the more realistic points, details, and flaws of circumstances and of people provides us with instant gratification. However, it’s wise to hold off on making important purchases, or natalizing a relationship until the veil lifts. Take care with legal, financial, and social involvements, contracts, or formal agreements under this dreamy influence.
Mars sextile Saturn. Work takes on definite shape, and we can see results from our efforts. This gives us a sense of responsibility and a feeling of directedness and purposefulness. This is a good time to temper our energy and to exercise better judgment. A good time to get and feel organized. Seniority is favored now. Traditional methods work, and thoroughness brings rewards.

What’s In Store By the Stars – Daily Astrology Trends
(as featured on our site’s main page and in our Daily Trends Calendar)
NOVEMBER 27
The Moon is in Scorpio all day, encouraging our ability to draw upon past experiences to improve our future. The Sun forms a minor challenging aspect with Uranus today, however, and we may feel an urge to take action but don’t know where we’re headed. Unexpected changes in plans or events can test our patience, and we might feel a bit out of control. However, they could stimulate us to try new approaches, and they certainly act to cut boredom. This transit could offer us the drive to do something new, but avoid making hasty major decisions for the time being.
A void of course Moon occurs from 4:49 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Venus), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Monday, November 28th, at 3:46 PM EST.
NOVEMBER 28
The Moon is in Scorpio until 3:46 PM EST, after which it transits Sagittarius. The Scorpio Moon is observant, strategic, emotional, and intense, and the Sagittarius Moon is exploratory, philosophical, and spontaneous. The Moon is Balsamic today, and with a New Moon occurring tomorrow morning, we’re better off tying up loose ends than beginning something brand new. It’s best not to start a new project, relationship, or other important initiatives during the Balsamic phase of the Moon, as it is a time of endings. Reflection is favored over innovation now.
The Moon is void until 3:46 PM EST when it enters Sagittarius.
NOVEMBER 29
The New Moon occurs this morning at 7:19 AM EST in the sign of Sagittarius, and a new cycle begins. It’s a time when we might focus on some of the constructive traits of the sign of the Archer – optimistic, enthusiastic, adventurous, honest, outspoken, independent – and consider how to incorporate these qualities into our lives. We do well when we focus on goals that will increase our understanding and awareness, give us the courage to expand our horizons, and gain confidence and optimism through a broader perspective. We can too easily get lost in the details of mundane existence, but with this potent Sagittarius energy, we can find ways to transcend these details of day-to-day life and nurture our faith, hope, and vision. Because Sagittarius thinks in big terms, we may have a tendency to overdo our expectations – something to watch for, particularly with the New Moon in a square relationship with Neptune in Pisces on the Nodal axis. Venus squares Uranus today, presenting a potential challenge or struggle. Values and tastes may clash, and group activities may suffer as a result. Impulsive attractions to both people and material goods can lead us astray. Avoid impulse buys at this time. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness is possible in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye, and we might be taken off guard by unexpected events. We may struggle with freedom versus intimacy issues at this time. Hold off on decision-making with regards to finances, as there is a tendency to act on a whim rather than reason. However, Venus sextiles Chiron, and there is a simultaneous drive for intimacy and sharing. We more easily see beauty in human weaknesses.
NOVEMBER 30
With the Sun forming a square to Neptune today, there can be a temporary drain of energy as we are challenged to consider our spiritual needs, which might at this point seem to contradict our plans and goals; or we may need to confront the ways in which reality isn’t measuring up to our ideals. Until we find ways to incorporate imagination and spirit into our lives appropriately, there can be problems feeling motivated. This influence takes away our sense of certainty, and we can either go with that flow or resist it and feel a little lost and without direction. Concentrating on artistic or spiritual pursuits is better than focusing on things that require straightforward, factual thinking makes the most sense now. Chiron is stationing direct, exact tomorrow. Launches of new projects should probably wait. The Moon is in Sagittarius all day.
A void of course Moon occurs from 11:09 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Mercury), until the Moon enters Capricorn the next day, Thursday, December 1st, at 3:53 AM EST.
DECEMBER 1
While there is very forward-looking, resilient energy with us now, with Chiron stationary and turning direct today, there can be some emotional vulnerability. Emotional truths about matters we’ve been avoiding or confused about begin to emerge now and in the coming weeks. These may not always be comfortable, but they serve to motivate us to take appropriate action. Mars forms a trine with Jupiter today, and we are brave, direct, and confident. We’re looking for new challenges today. This can point to taking action to improve ourselves or better our lives. We can be optimistic and enthusiastic, certain that our actions will be well-received or will lead to better circumstances, and our positive attitude can attract winning situations now. Our more adventurous and competitive sides can emerge now.
The Moon ends its void period when it enters Capricorn at 3:53 AM EST.
DECEMBER 2
The Moon is in practical Capricorn all day, and while we seek out definition and structure under this influence, a Venus-Neptune semi-square may be working to break these down in the first half of the day. Venus-Neptune challenges our perceptions, particularly regarding people and pleasure. We might seek out constructive ways to entertain our creative or spiritual needs. Mercury enters Capricorn today and will stay in the sign longer than its average three weeks, until January 4th and then from January 12th to February 7th, 2017, due to an upcoming retrograde. While Mercury is in Capricorn, our thinking is methodical, and our focus is sober and practical. It is easier to concentrate on the task at hand under this influence, particularly if its usefulness is apparent to us. Our conversations may be quite realistic or focused on business/practical matters. Our thought patterns and communication styles become more logical, orderly, and organized. We are more able to sort out what is relevant and essential. Realism enters the picture, our speech is no-nonsense, and precision becomes important to us. We need to be wary of becoming too rigid in our thinking under this influence, as we may come across as cold or harsh. For some, there is a fine line between realism and pessimism.
DECEMBER 3
The Moon continues its transit of Capricorn until 2:45 PM EST, and we are drawn to practical activities and goals. A sextile between Mars and Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn, suits the Capricorn Moon’s energies well. Work takes on definite shape, and we can see results from our efforts. This gives us a sense of responsibility and a feeling of directedness and purposefulness. It’s a good time to temper our energy, pace ourselves productively, and exercise better judgment. This is also a strong time for getting organized. Traditional methods work, and thoroughness brings rewards. The Moon ends its transit of Capricorn at 2:45 PM EST when it enters Aquarius. With the Moon in Aquarius, we seek to be fair and supportive while maintaining our independence.
A void of course Moon occurs from 5:17 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Venus), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 2:45 PM EST.

When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it’s passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won’t work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it’s an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.

Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don’t want to plan ahead, and prefer to “wing it”.

We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. This Week’s Planetary Positions By Sign (General Trends)
Sun in Sagittarius You’re now embarking on a trek into a land of dreams – not passive daydreams, but vibrant visions of what may be. The time has come to stop looking at the world as it is and asking why. Now’s the time to imagine the world as it could be, and the question has become: “Why not?” You also cannot do everything you imagine now, but you cannot do anything you don’t KNOW you can do – so believe, and dare to make it happen! This means expanding your mind, your belief system, your whole base of knowledge and experience. Time’s a wastin’ – let no grass grow between your toes!
Mercury in Sagittarius A time of expanding your mental horizons is at hand. Religion, philosophy, law, and education are some of the things that may have special importance for you now. Being in touch with faraway people and places satisfies an intellectual yearning – curiosity will take you anywhere and maybe everywhere.
Mercury in Capricorn Figuring out how to organize projects and people is apt to become a topic of special interest – and a challenge – at a time like this. Opinions are not enough for you now: they must be backed by authority or evidence, and above all they must have practical worth and application. A period of intense study and thought.
Mars in Aquarius The reformer, the inventor, the engineer, the revolutionary – these are important archetypes for you as a new cycle gets underway in your life. They are icons of the ambitions that stir you at a time like this. Independence, freedom from past patterns, and a daring readiness to innovate: such are the paths of achievement for you now.
Jupiter in Libra The ties that bind, the harmonious integration of opposites, the perfect balance: these are the keys to your greatest opportunities now. Marriage and other close personal relationships tend to offer bright prospects, and you have a deep yearning to experience the fulfillment they can bring.
Saturn in Sagittarius The new phase now beginning in your life brings a need to break out of narrow concepts and legalistic philosophical or religious ideas. Remember: “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.” Opportunities to broaden your mental horizons may not come with ease, but they are essential if you are to avoid a kind of spiritual stagnation.
Uranus in Aries A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
