The LAST QUARTER MOON occurs on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at 2:32 PM EDT.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Last Quarter Moon is exact, when the Sun in Gemini forms a square with the Moon in Pisces. The Last Quarter Moon phase points to some sort of crisis of consciousness. After basking in the awareness symbolized by the full light of the Moon at the time of last week’s Full Moon, we disperse our knowledge and come to a point when we need to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon, when something new is born once again.
This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes a descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to begin finishing up the details of that which was conceived at the last New Moon. What revelations did you have last week? What did they mean for you? What can be done now?
This phase of the Moon occurs at 16 degrees and 0 minutes of Pisces forming a square to the Sun at 16 degrees and 0 minutes Gemini, affecting people born with personal planets and points
The FULL MOON occurred on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018, at 10:19 AM EDT.
On Tuesday morning, a Full Moon occurred when the Gemini Sun opposed the Moon in Sagittarius. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon approximately two weeks ago. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Gemini-Sagittarius polarity is a mental axis, where Gemini represents the “lower mind” and Sagittarius represents the “higher mind.” The Gemini Sun encourages us to think logically, while the Sagittarius Moon persuades us to intuit and to think in a broader manner. Sagittarius symbolizes the quest for meaning and ideas that expand upon the “here and now.” Gemini is quite comfortable in his or her immediate environment or neighborhood, while Sagittarius stimulates us to venture beyond it. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do.
This Full Moon is about communication, attitude, and our sense of adventure. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.
The lunation illuminates this conflict between logic and intuition/faith. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is fresh, unrefined, and not particularly rational as yet.
This Full Moon forms a rather wide square to Neptune, and revelations now might lead to a detour from our goals. We should watch for misinformation. This is a time for opening ourselves up to possibilities. The Sun forms a trine to Mars, increasing our resolve and courage to make changes, although we may struggle with giving up certain desires or attachments.
This phase of the Moon occurred at 8 degrees and 10 minutes of Sagittarius forming an opposition with the Sun at 8 degrees and 10 minutes of Gemini, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 4 to 12 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.

The Sun is in Gemini; Mercury is in Gemini; Venus is in Cancer; Mars is in Aquarius.
The Sun is in Gemini from May 20-June 21. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. We tend to scatter our energies as a result of this curiosity and awareness of all of our options. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.
Mercury is in Gemini from May 29-June 12. When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable. Mercury feels right at home in Gemini, one of the signs that it rules. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining a superficial knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic. We are especially astute when it comes to arguing or making a point. We are attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations. We are easily distracted.
Venus is in Cancer from May 19-June 13. In Cancer, Venus is nurturing, protective and self-protective, cautious, and fertile. We experience many emotional ups and downs in love under this influence due to increased sensitivity and impressionability. We are tender, romantic, and attached. Cancer love is dedicated, warm, and devoted. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern. We are affectionate and cuddly and are at our best when we feel safe and secure.
Mars is in Aquarius from May 16-August 12 and September 10-November 15. Dynamic yet erratic energy levels, achieving our goals through hit or miss tactics, and impersonal expression of anger are characteristics of Mars in Aquarius. We are team players–cooperative and less concerned about personal power. We are attracted to unconventional methods and tend to approach problems from an intellectual, detached perspective.
Saturn transits Capricorn from December 19/20, 2017, to March 21, 2020; and then finishes up its transit from July 1 to December 17, 2020. Read about Saturn’s transit through Capricorn here.
Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 10th, 2017, and will remain in the sign until November 8th, 2018. Read about Jupiter in Scorpio transit here.
Uranus entered Taurus on May 15, 2018, and will transit Taurus until November 6, 2018, and then from March 6, 2019, to 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn how to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. We’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle. There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011, and will transit Aries until May 15, 2018, and then from November 6, 2018, to March 6, 2019. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Cancer from May 19-June 13. We treat lovers with sympathy and tenderness, providing the emotional nurturing that they need. We tend to “play it safe” when it comes to relationships. Love and devotion is most important to us, and provides us with a sense of inner security. We seek a deep love in which we can merge souls and personalities with our lover. We are quite devoted to our partners, and we seek such devotion in return. However, we could also become possessive, manipulative, and stifling. Familiarity is more important to us now. Our fear of rejection is overdeveloped, and we offer our hearts cautiously as a result. We pay more attention to our lovers’ feelings than their words. We feel threatened if a lover acts in an impersonal, overly independent, or detached manner. Safe and solid relationships are more appealing. Romantic and emotional hurts are very hard to forget. We are affectionate and cuddly, and we’re at our best when we feel safe and secure.
This week: Venus opposes Pluto on Tuesday and parallels Mercury on Wednesday. This is a time for buried fears and resentments in our relationships to bubble up and demand attention. It’s a period of intense feelings, as well as possible emotional distress and tension caused by romantic troubles or social manipulation. Fears of betrayal may get the best of us. However, it’s a strong time for getting in touch with problem areas that may have been undermining us and our relationships. Although this can be purging, troubles can emerge in disruptive ways and mindfulness can help.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Cancer May 19-June 13. Mothering (or being mothered), sympathy, a yearning to put down roots, and a fondness for things that have stood the test of time – these are some of the hallmarks of the phase that now begins in your life. Romantic and social experiences, as well as artistic tastes, will show evidence of these factors.
Venus trine Neptune June 1-2. We perceive romantic situations as if they were “designed” just for us. A magical, romantic time. The pleasures of life are experienced fully. Romance is highly favored. We see the very best in people now, and this eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships.
Venus opposition Pluto June 5. This is a period of intense feelings, as well as possible emotional distress and tension caused by romantic troubles or social manipulation. An experience of being used or abused physically, emotionally or sexually may cause us suffering or disappointment. Sexually driven emotions are likely now. Fears of betrayal may get the best of us.
Venus parallel Mercury June 5-6. A congenial time when we appreciate diplomacy and socialize more readily.
Venus contra-parallel Saturn June 12. We may express our affection sparingly, but also responsibly and in practical ways. Relationships we begin under this influence often feel burdensome over time, but they may last longer than most. Some pulling back can occur in relationships now, as we are more self-conscious and cautious with our affections.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, June 4th, from 1:11 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Pisces the next day, Tuesday, June 5th, at 6:54 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Thursday, June 7th, from 2:36 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Venus), until the Moon enters Aries at 5:26 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Saturday, June 9th, from 3:38 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Venus), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Sunday, June 10th, at 12:04 AM EDT.

Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
The Moon is waning this week — a period that is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details).
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week from 5:35 PM EDT on Wednesday, June 6th, until Thursday, June 7th, at approximately 2:30 AM EDT, although a Sun-Neptune square occurs at 2:00 AM is not an ideal aspect to natalize.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Sun inconjunct (quincunx) Jupiter. The desire to experience something new or for more freedom to explore can amount to restlessness if we don’t know what it is we want. This is a time of adjustments, and perhaps of letting go of old habits, so that we can free ourselves up for different experiences.
Mercury quincunx (inconjunct) Jupiter. We may have big ideas under this influence, but we may also overestimate our abilities or underestimate the situation. Avoid jumping into something without planning ahead, as important details are too easy to overlook. Also, avoid making promises you may not be able to fulfill, and read the fine print!
Mercury conjunct Sun. We are especially sharp, communicative, and open at this time, as our wants are aligned with our thoughts. It’s a favorable time for solving problems. What we say or write now has impact, for better or for worse!
Venus opposition Pluto. An intense emotional or sexual attraction, a very revealing, intimate encounter, or a powerful desire to be close to and share our deepest feelings with someone is very likely now. Emotions and issues in a close relationship that have been brewing beneath the surface for quite awhile come to the surface at this time, possibly in a very disruptive way. All of our relationships intensify and we need to be aware of a tendency to act in a rather compulsive, demanding way towards others. This is an “all or nothing” energy. Manipulative behavior, fear of betrayal, and power struggles are possible.
Mercury semi-square Uranus. We can have flashes of insight, but tend to be scatterbrained. Our ideas and communications may not be well-received because they don’t seem to others to carry weight. Our minds are not peaceful or harmonious under this influence, and irritable tempers, sarcastic speech, and dogmatism are negative expressions of this energy.
Mercury square Neptune. We find it hard to follow facts, directions, and instructions. Difficulties concentrating on hard, cold facts are likely; and we may question facts altogether or avoid being pinned down for answers. This is a bad time for signing on the dotted line. Perceptions are confused, unrealistic, or too idealistic to carry weight in the real world. Conversations may be vague.
Sun semi-square Uranus. During this transit, we feel the need for action, but if we don’t know where we’re headed, we might take the wrong turn. Unexpected changes in plans or events can test our patience, and we might feel a bit out of control. However, they could stimulate us to try new approaches and they certainly act to cut boredom. This transit could offer us the drive to do something new, but avoid making hasty major decisions for the time being.
Sun square Neptune. Concentrating on artistic or spiritual pursuits is better than focusing on things that require straightforward, factual thinking today. It can be difficult knowing where or how to direct your willpower under this influence. It’s also a challenge knowing where you stand with others. Avoid such things as scheduling surgery, important appointments, job interviews, or launches of new projects at this time.
Mercury quincunx Pluto. Something we write or say could trigger power struggles or hostility from others. We may be plagued with self-doubt in our attempts to make decisions. Decisions made now are unlikely to be objective. Re-assessing decisions we have made already, or adjusting our plans, may be in order. Second-guessing.
Mercury sesquiquadrate Mars. Impulsive communications and hasty decision-making. We can accomplish more if we are careful not to be too hasty and forget details. “Haste makes waste.”

JUNE 3
The Moon spends the day in Aquarius, aligning with Mars in this Fixed Air sign this morning, and then harmonizing with the Sun and Mercury, both in Gemini and heading towards a conjunction, exact on the 5th. This is a fine time for expressing ourselves through satisfying channels. It’s an excellent time to voice our concerns, listen to others, and share progressive ideas. We’re communicating clearly and directly, and we’re inclined to analyze or philosophize. An idea or feeling can get us going – all worked up and ready to take action.
JUNE 4
The Moon spends the day in the sign of Aquarius, and for most of the day (from 1:11 AM EDT forward) is void and forms no major aspects to major bodies after that point. This can have a “twilight zone” effect. It’s better not to begin new initiatives, and instead, focus on tying up loose ends or developing existing projects. The void Moon makes it difficult for entirely new endeavors to have sticking or staying power. Attraction to all that is new and unusual figures strongly with the Aquarius Moon. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence.
The Moon is void from 1:11 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Pisces the next day, Tuesday, June 5th, at 6:54 AM EDT.
JUNE 5
Mercury and the Sun align in the sign of Gemini today. This is a superior conjunction of Mercury and the Sun and can stimulate an epiphany, illumination of a matter, or a clearing of the air. We are exceptionally sharp, communicative, and open at this time, as our wants are aligned with our thoughts. What we say or write now has impact, for better or for worse! Both Mercury and the Sun are forming a quincunx with Jupiter, however, and we can be feeling torn between two ideas or drives, perhaps see-sawing between alternatives. There can be some problems coming to satisfying conclusions or decisions. This is a time of adjustments, and possibly of letting go of old habits so that we can free ourselves up for different experiences. Mercury and the Sun are also heading towards challenging aspects to Uranus and Neptune, and there can be many distractions. Also today, Venus opposes Pluto, and there can be intense emotions and attractions, as well as confrontations or events that bring complicated feelings and fears to a head. We may be making uncomfortable discoveries, and while some of these can be ultimately helpful, we may be pushing too far for answers right now. Manipulative behavior can arise with insecurities or fear of betrayal at their root, and this should be watched for.
The Moon is void until 6:54 AM EDT when it enters Pisces.
JUNE 6
The Moon spends the day in gentle, fanciful Pisces. Mercury and the Sun form challenging aspects to Uranus and Neptune today, as these two outer bodies approach a semi-square that will perfect in mid-June. Today, we can feel particularly inspired, although we may feel restless if our dreams are no longer fulfilling us or keeping us hopeful. Watch for speculative and impractical ventures and unusual tangents that may not last. These influences can confuse our direction temporarily. We may have a hard time defining our actions and our goals, perhaps losing sight of reality and reason for now, or we may be without clear instructions or details. This can be a time for increased spiritual awareness, imagination, and inspiration, although part of us might struggle with this. The Last Quarter Moon is exact today when the Sun in Gemini forms a square with the Moon in Pisces. After basking in the awareness symbolized by the full light of the Moon at the time of last week’s Full Moon, we disperse our knowledge and come to a point when we need to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t. This is in preparation for next week’s New Moon when something new is born once again.
This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes a descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to begin finishing up the details of that which was conceived at the last New Moon.
JUNE 7
The Sun and Neptune perfect their square early today, and we can feel temporarily without a clear direction, or there may be detours or distractions to deal with now. We are reminded to tend to any overlooked spiritual needs before pushing forward. As the day advances, we’re in an excellent place to team up with others to generate ideas, solve problems, or listen to one another and “be heard.” Mental rapport assists our efforts today, and we’re taking pride in our ideas and observations now. This is a good time to bring unique elements to our work. New techniques or options can emerge as we open our minds to them. The Moon continues its transit of Pisces until 5:26 PM EDT, after which it moves through Aries, and the urge to start fresh is with us. The Moon’s alignment with Chiron this evening can pull up the need to deal with unresolved emotional matters.
The Moon is void from 2:36 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Venus), until the Moon enters Aries at 5:26 PM EDT.
JUNE 8
The quincunx between Mercury and Pluto this morning can find us doubting or second-guessing our choices. We can have a hard time getting our message across or coming to a decision/conclusion that feels right, or we trigger negative responses from others. Alternatively, we may find it difficult digesting or accepting certain news or information. There can be some tensions related to what or how we communicate that can trigger hostility, negative feedback, or perhaps power struggles. It can be difficult to make objective decisions now, or we may be revisiting past choices and adjusting our plans. Later today, we move towards another minor challenging aspect involving Mercury, this time with Mars, and there can be impulsive communications or decisions. We should aim to be quick, not hasty. The Moon spends the day in assertive and sometimes impatient Aries.
JUNE 9
Early today, impulsive communications and hasty decision-making are possible as Mercury and Mars form a minor tense aspect. While haste makes waste now, we might benefit from getting a little riled up about a matter if it motivates us to solve a problem. The Moon spends another day in Aries, and we’re direct and straightforward, although not especially sensitive or sympathetic. However, a Sun-Venus parallel today promotes harmony and cooperation. We may feel moved to express our affections.
The Moon is void from 3:38 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Venus), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Sunday, June 10th, at 12:04 AM EDT.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Aquarius
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
When the Moon is in Pisces
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Gemini The cycle which begins for you now will be marked by a more intense focus on mental and communicative activity than you may ever have experienced before. It’s a time of more involvement with other people, a time for gathering information, and a time when you’re apt to be more on the go than ever. There is likely to be an emphasis on reading, writing, studying, and all forms of exchanging information with others in the years ahead – and it will all serve as a path for self-discovery and personal development.
Mercury in Gemini A walking encyclopedia, a yen to know a little bit about everything (and everyone): these are the icons of the cycle you have just begun. Talking, writing, keeping a finger on the pulse of all that’s happening … this is a time of study and learning, a cycle of mental challenge, curiosity, and social/intellectual growth. Such things are an end in themselves rather than a means to any other end.
Venus in Cancer Mothering (or being mothered), sympathy, a yearning to put down roots, and a fondness for things that have stood the test of time – these are some of the hallmarks of the phase that now begins in your life. Romantic and social experiences, as well as artistic tastes, will show evidence of these factors.
Mars in Aquarius The reformer, the inventor, the engineer, the revolutionary – these are important archetypes for you as a new cycle gets underway in your life. They are icons of the ambitions that stir you at a time like this. Independence, freedom from past patterns, and a daring readiness to innovate: such are the paths of achievement for you now.
Jupiter in Scorpio The phase now beginning for you emphasizes fixing what is broken or unhealthy, thereby giving it a new lease on life. This is more than one person alone can handle, so the cooperation of others is essential. You give up something in order to get or create something, and you may not understand the reasons why at the time. Sex, money, power, and vitality become key issues.
Saturn in Capricorn Responsibility, hard work, ambition, and achievement: these are the foundations you need to build on now, as a new cycle dawns in your life. And yet, there is a tendency to be a little too hard, perhaps a bit cold, in your approach to these things. Let ambition take you to the top, but don’t let it lull you into thinking that the end justifies the means.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
