The FULL MOON occurs in the sign of Capricorn on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at 12:53 AM EDT.
Very early Thursday, a Full Moon occurs when the Cancer Sun opposes the Moon in Capricorn. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Cancer-Capricorn polarity concerns the balance between the private life, domesticity, the need for a home base, and nurturance (represented by Cancer) versus the public life, career, reputation, and accountability (represented by Capricorn). Attachments and love are ruled by Cancer, while achievements and rewards/punishments are ruled by Capricorn. In some ways, this polarity deals with the balance between unconditional love and conditional love. Cancer encourages us to value our home base and our roots, while Capricorn persuades us to consider our sense of duty and responsibility along public or professional lines. While Cancer may be content to be dependent, Capricorn urges us to be grown-up and responsible. Cancer represents the origin, and Capricorn represents the goal.
Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about balancing our commitment to our career and families. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.
The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between roots and direction. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is fresh, unrefined, and not particularly rational as yet. This Full Moon aligns with Saturn and trines Uranus, suggesting somewhat sober realizations that we can nevertheless make work for us. There may be a tough decision or choice, reality check, or we may feel some pressure to make changes.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 6 degrees and 28 minutes of Capricorn opposing the Sun at 6 degrees and 28 minutes of Cancer, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 2 to 10 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

(Times are Eastern)
The Sun is in Cancer; Mercury is in Cancer until the 29th, when it enters Leo; Venus is in Leo; Mars is in Aquarius.
The Sun is in Cancer from June 21-July 22. We are self-protective and insular under this influence. Our attention turns to our nest–our families, homes, and anything that makes us feel “at home”, safe, and secure. Nurturing and taking care of our loved ones and our pet projects come into focus. Emotions run deep. We are more susceptible to the ups and downs of the Moon while the Sun is in Cancer.
Mercury is in Cancer from June 12-29. When Mercury is in Cancer, we move from the desire for quantity to the need for quality in terms of the information we are attracted to. We think, speak, and take in information on a deeper, more instinctive level now. We have less interest in what is universal, and more interest in what affects us personally and what affects the people around us. Our thoughts are colored by our emotions, so it is more challenging to be objective.
Mercury is in Leo from June 29-September 5. When Mercury is in Leo, our thinking is more confident and grand. The focus is now on the goal–and the grander a goal the better! The details may not be quite as important now. We are more expressive, even theatrical and given to speech-giving and story-telling under this influence. We are also more convincing and persuasive, as we exude confidence when we speak or write. We may not listen as well as we normally do under Mercury in Leo.
Venus is in Leo from June 13-July 9. Love is magnificent and grand. We take pride in love, and we are generous with our money as well. This is a warmhearted, teasing, expressive, proud, and extravagant placement for Venus. Love is a bit of a game–a game that is perpetual, as Venus in Leo is forever stuck in the romance stage of a relationship. We feed on attention, acknowledgment, validation, and adoration. Venus in Leo loves to be adored, pampered, and admired. Pride and passion are hallmarks of this cycle. We have a strong ego investment in our love lives during this period. The negative expression of this placement is overstating our feelings simply for the effect, as well as extravagance.
Mars is in Aquarius from May 16-August 12 and September 10-November 15. Dynamic yet erratic energy levels, achieving our goals through hit or miss tactics, and impersonal expression of anger are characteristics of Mars in Aquarius. We are team players–cooperative and less concerned about personal power. We are attracted to unconventional methods and tend to approach problems from an intellectual, detached perspective.
Saturn transits Capricorn from December 19/20, 2017, to March 21, 2020; and then finishes up its transit from July 1 to December 17, 2020. Read about Saturn’s transit through Capricorn here.
Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 10th, 2017, and will remain in the sign until November 8th, 2018. Read about Jupiter in Scorpio transit here.
Uranus entered Taurus on May 15, 2018, and will transit Taurus until November 6, 2018, and then from March 6, 2019, to 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn how to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. We’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle. There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011, and will transit Aries until May 15, 2018, and then from November 6, 2018, to March 6, 2019. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Leo from June 13-July 9. Love is magnificent and grand!
This week: On Monday, we’re ready to enjoy ourselves, although we may go overboard. Feelings of elation can cloud our judgment, and we can promise more than we can deliver. On Wednesday and Thursday and then Saturday, things don’t run very smoothly. Timing can be off in our social interactions, largely due to unrealistic expectations or insecurities.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Leo June 13-July 9.Romance becomes an end in itself as a new cycle begins for you. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired – needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth.
Venus opposition Mars June 20-21. Romantic needs are at odds with assertive, physical, or sexual needs. Relations are heated and erotic, but come with an underlying tension.
Venus square Jupiter June 25. We experience a strong desire for more pleasure in our lives, which can be excessive. Take care not to overstate your feelings or to set up unrealistic expectations in your partnerships. As well, take what your partner says with a grain of salt. There is no malicious intent involved, but feelings of elation can cloud our judgment, and we can promise more than we can deliver.
Venus quincunx Neptune June 27. Idealism and disappointments in love. Avoid becoming blinded by what you want to see, rather than what really is. Doubts about love.
Venus sesquiquadrate Chiron June 28. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves.
Venus quincunx Pluto June 30-July 1. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Venus trine Uranus July 11. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, June 24th, from 10:00 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Monday, June 25th, at 12:30 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Tuesday, June 26th, from 8:54 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Capricorn the next day, Wednesday, June 27th, at 11:53 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, June 29th, from 4:58 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aquarius the next day, Saturday, June 30th, at 12:37 AM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus square Jupiter. Feelings of elation in love or with regards to the pleasures of life can lead us to overdo, overindulge, overspend, and overstate our feelings. Avoid hasty (or haughty!) decisions. We might take great strides to get noticed. Avoid impulsive buying. We may also feel lazy and we are inclined to procrastinate.
Sun opposition Saturn. Our confidence is undermined by feelings of doubt, pessimism, or feelings of guilt. Feeling blocked, encountering obstacles to progress, and inhibitions are prominent under this influence. A heavy dose of realism seems forced upon us under this influence, but our efforts to measure up to expectations can ultimately increase our confidence in our ability to be responsible for ourselves. This influence is a somber one.
Venus quincunx Neptune. Under this influence, we are apt to see what we want to see, rather than what actually is, when it comes to both financial affairs and affairs of the heart. Still, we tend to doubt our perceptions of perfection. The end result is a feeling of insecurity on romantic and social levels. Avoid making large purchases and commitments at this time.
Venus sesquiquadrate Chiron. Blocks to intimacy are possible now as we focus on differences rather than similarities in our relationships with others. We might have a hard time learning from one another as a result.
Mercury sesquiquadrate Neptune. We are not thinking clearly, preferring to daydream. Technical facts can be glossed over at this time. It’s not a good time to make a presentation, to ask for what you want, or to formalize agreements.
Mercury square Uranus. Our senses are stimulated, and we could have sudden flashes of insight or fresh new ideas. However, our ideas are not always received well by others and we can be scatter-brained. It’s a challenge to deal with routine matters or monotonous tasks under this influence. Tasks may be left undone or interrupted. This is not a good time to be understood, so we may want to hold off presenting our ideas for the time being. New information can surface now that upsets the status quo, but can also act to stimulate our minds into new ways of thinking.
Mercury trine Chiron. This is an excellent period for opening up communications with others, as we are more sensitive than usual and more willing to listen. Getting our point across is easier, as it’s not only about which words we choose to communicate, we intuitively express the meaning and intention behind the words. We can effectively use words to heal and comfort just now. We are also more open to new ways of looking at problems or at life in general.
Sun quincunx Mars. A tendency to fly off the handle easily characterizes this transit, due to inner tension between the will and performance. It’s hard to find satisfaction or a sense of peace at this time. We may feel decidedly “out of sorts.”

JUNE 24
The Moon is in Scorpio all day, and there is healing and transformative energy with us today. We may be opening up about our feelings or dissecting them as the Moon forms a trine to Mercury in Cancer. Scorpio’s energy is provocative, passionate, strong-willed, and intense. Intuition is heightened. A creative aspect between the Sun and Mars today points to creativity when it comes to going after what we want in life. We can maneuver and plan stylishly, and we can be naturally competitive without being antagonistic. Today is useful for planning and strategizing.
The Moon is void from 10:00 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Monday, June 25th, at 12:30 AM EDT.
JUNE 25
The Moon continues its transit of Scorpio until 12:30 AM EDT, after which it moves through Sagittarius. We’re seeking meaning with the Moon in Sagittarius. This transit promotes a happy, spontaneous, and curious attitude. Bored with the mundane, something that cuts through monotony or breaks the routine can serve as emotional refreshment. A Venus-Jupiter square today can have the effect of exaggerating or expanding our affections, and this state of mind can lead to overdoing, overstating our feelings, and overindulging. However, if we keep this in check, it can be a useful time for entertaining new ideas and approaches related to pleasure, money, and love. This influence generates sociable but not very disciplined energy.
The Moon is void until 12:30 AM when it enters Sagittarius.
JUNE 26
Mars, currently transiting the sign of Aquarius, turns retrograde today, and there can be some difficulties knowing what we want as the shift occurs. The Mars retrograde cycle itself, which spans from today until August 27th, is a time when we need to re-assess our current projects, our approach to getting what we want, and our desires. Rather than directly asserting our desires, we are more introspective and cautious. Mars in direct motion is straightforward, assertive, and even aggressive, but with Mars in retrograde motion, Mars energy is essentially turned inward – it’s internalized, intensified, personalized, and perhaps pressurized. We can be hesitant about taking action, second-guessing our instincts or our natural impulses rather than acting upon them. While the Moon is in spontaneous Sagittarius all day, we’re also approaching a Sun-Saturn opposition, and it’s a good idea to take things slowly today.
The Moon is void from 8:54 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Capricorn the next day, Wednesday, June 27th, at 11:53 AM EDT.
JUNE 27
The Moon continues its transit of Sagittarius until 11:53 AM EDT, after which it transits productive, practical Capricorn. The Sun forms its annual opposition to Saturn today, and we can experience a reality check, likely related to our work, responsibilities, or the rules, in general. Feelings of doubt, pessimism, or guilt may undermine our confidence until we make corrections. Feeling blocked, encountering obstacles to progress, and inhibitions are all possible under this influence. While there can be some feelings of a letdown, our efforts to measure up to expectations can ultimately increase confidence in our ability to be responsible for ourselves. Focusing too much on our feelings may not be very productive right now. This is a time for reevaluating goals, taking into better account the limits of time and energy. It can be a good time for developing real solutions to long-term problems and for recognizing the meaning behind recent restrictions or limitations. We might acknowledge the need to adopt a humbler, more mature, and possibly more conservative approach. We might also need to catch up on neglected duties or responsibilities. Later today, with a Venus-Neptune quincunx, however, and we can feel a little insecure or uninspired on social or romantic levels. It’s best to avoid making large purchases and commitments at this time. While the morning influence asks us to put more structure and order into our endeavors, the nighttime aspect encourages us to take better care of our spiritual needs in our relationships and pastimes.
The Moon is void until 11:53 AM EDT when it enters Capricorn.
JUNE 28
Early today, a Full Moon occurs as the Cancer Sun opposes the Moon in Capricorn. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of what we started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships. We might have an epiphany or discover our true feelings about a situation or person. A project may reach culmination or a turning point. The Cancer-Capricorn polarity concerns the balance between the private life, domesticity, the need for a home base, and nurturance (represented by Cancer) versus the public life, career, reputation, and accountability (represented by Capricorn). Cancer encourages us to value our home base and our roots, while Capricorn persuades us to consider our sense of duty and responsibility along public or professional lines. Cancer represents the origin, and Capricorn represents the goal. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about balancing our commitment to our career and families. This Full Moon aligns with Saturn and trines Uranus, suggesting somewhat sober realizations that we can nevertheless make work for us. There may be a tough decision or choice, reality check, or we may feel some pressure to make changes. With a Venus-Chiron minor challenge today, we should watch for a tendency to focus on differences rather than similarities in our relationships.
JUNE 29
Mercury enters the sign of Leo today and will transit the sign for longer than usual – until September 5th. The length of this stay is due to the upcoming retrograde of Mercury from July 26th to August 19th spent entirely in Leo, which serves to extend the visit. When Mercury is in Leo, our thinking is more confident and grand. The focus is now on the goal–and the more magnificent the goal, the better! The details may not be quite as important to us now. We are more expressive, even theatrical, and given to speech-giving and story-telling under this influence. We are also more convincing and persuasive, as we exude confidence when we speak or write. We may not listen as well as we usually do, however. The Moon spends the day in productive Capricorn. Today, Mercury is moving into a minor challenging aspect with Neptune, which can serve to diffuse our concentration or focus.
The Moon is void from 4:58 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aquarius the next day, Saturday, June 30th, at 12:37 AM EDT.
JUNE 30
The Moon ends its transit of Capricorn and enters Aquarius early today, at 12:37 AM EDT. Mercury forms a square to Uranus and then a trine to Chiron today. These aspects can stimulate our senses, and we could have sudden flashes of insight or fresh new ideas. It’s a challenge to deal with routine matters or monotonous tasks, but we’re open to new ways of looking at problems and the world around us. The Moon aligns with retrograde Mars today, firing up emotions but we may have a hard time finding satisfying channels for pursuing our desires. With the Sun forming a quincunx to retrograde Mars, there can be some inner tension between the will and performance or energy levels, and a tendency to fly off the handle can be with us now. It’s hard to find satisfaction or a sense of peace temporarily. We may feel decidedly “out of sorts” and on the fence about key issues. There can be tension revolving around going after what we want since what we feel we should do seems at odds with our desires or motivation.
The Moon is void until it enters Aquarius today at 12:37 AM EDT.

Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Cancer Being more in touch with your emotional roots is a keynote of the cycle that now takes hold in your life. This has to do with feelings, but it’s more than that: it’s about making the things you feel and care about a reality. At some levels, this means a greater focus on family life – parents, children, relatives, the whole domestic scene. On a somewhat broader scale, you’re likely to find that houses and other real property take on greater significance for you. Nurturing is where it’s at in your life now: making things grow and taking care of them, planting seeds that will develop and survive far into the future – that’s what it’s all about.
Mercury in Cancer Gut-level is the way you think, speak, and perceive in the cycle you have just begun. You aren’t interested in the superficial; instead, you want to get right to the root of things. You don’t care about the universal, only about how things impact you and yours. Intellect and emotion mix to the point of inseparability.
Venus in Leo Romance becomes an end in itself as a new cycle begins for you. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired – needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth.
Mars in Aquarius The reformer, the inventor, the engineer, the revolutionary – these are important archetypes for you as a new cycle gets underway in your life. They are icons of the ambitions that stir you at a time like this. Independence, freedom from past patterns, and a daring readiness to innovate: such are the paths of achievement for you now.
Jupiter in Scorpio The phase now beginning for you emphasizes fixing what is broken or unhealthy, thereby giving it a new lease on life. This is more than one person alone can handle, so the cooperation of others is essential. You give up something in order to get or create something, and you may not understand the reasons why at the time. Sex, money, power, and vitality become key issues.
Saturn in Capricorn Responsibility, hard work, ambition, and achievement: these are the foundations you need to build on now, as a new cycle dawns in your life. And yet, there is a tendency to be a little too hard, perhaps a bit cold, in your approach to these things. Let ambition take you to the top, but don’t let it lull you into thinking that the end justifies the means.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
