The LAST QUARTER MOON occurs on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 3:26 PM EDT.
On Sunday afternoon, the Last Quarter Moon is exact, when the Sun in Cancer forms a square with the Moon in Aries. The Last Quarter Moon phase points to some sort of crisis of consciousness. After basking in the awareness symbolized by the full light of the Moon at the time of last week’s Full Moon, we disperse our knowledge and come to a point when we need to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon, when something new is born once again. This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes a descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to begin finishing up the details of that which was conceived at the last New Moon. What revelations did you have last week? What did they mean for you? What can be done now?
This phase of the Moon occurs at 24 degrees and 26 minutes of Aries forming a square to the Sun at 24 degrees and 26 minutes Cancer, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 22 to 26 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.
The FULL MOON occurred on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at 12:07 AM EDT.
A Full Moon occurred with the Cancer Sun in opposition to the Moon in Capricorn. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Cancer-Capricorn polarity concerns the balance between the private life, domesticity, the need for a home base, and nurturance (represented by Cancer) versus the public life, career, reputation, and accountability (represented by Capricorn). Attachments and love are ruled by Cancer, while achievements and rewards/punishments are ruled by Capricorn. In some ways, this polarity deals with the balance between unconditional love and conditional love. Cancer encourages us to value our home base and our roots, while Capricorn persuades us to consider our sense of duty and responsibility along public or professional lines. While Cancer may be content to be dependent, Capricorn urges us to be grown-up and responsible. Cancer represents the origin, and Capricorn represents the goal. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about balancing our commitment to our career and families. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.
The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between roots and direction. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is fresh, unrefined, and not particularly rational as yet.
The Sun is approaching a conjunction to Mars, the Moon is applying to a conjunction with Pluto, Jupiter forms a square with the Sun and Moon, and Neptune forms a close trine/sextile to this lunation, making this an important, although possibly difficult, time of letting something go.
This phase of the Moon occurred at 17 degrees and 9 minutes of Capricorn in opposition to the Sun at 17 degrees and 9 minutes of Cancer, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 13 to 21 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

(Times are Eastern)
The Sun is in Cancer until July 22nd, when it enters Leo; Mercury is in Leo; Venus is in Gemini; Mars is in Cancer until the 20th, when it enters Leo.
The Sun is in Cancer from June 21-July 22. We are self-protective and insular under this influence. Our attention turns to our nest–our families, homes, and anything that makes us feel “at home”, safe, and secure. Nurturing and taking care of our loved ones and our pet projects come into focus. Emotions run deep. We are more susceptible to the ups and downs of the Moon while the Sun is in Cancer.
The Sun is in Leo from July 22-August 22. In Leo, the Sun is proud, outgoing, and playful. The Leo Sun is intensely individual—not content with simply being just one of the team. It’s time to shine, add a touch of color and drama to our lives, and perform. Like the flowers and fruit of the season–blossoming and ripened–this is a time when we want to enjoy ourselves and express ourselves. We are more generous and grand in our gestures and attitudes. On the shadow side, we can also be self-centered and vain.
Mercury is in Leo from July 5-25. When Mercury is in Leo, our thinking is more confident and grand. The focus is now on the goal–and the grander a goal the better! The details may not be quite as important now. We are more expressive, even theatrical and given to speech-giving and story-telling under this influence. We are also more convincing and persuasive, as we exude confidence when we speak or write. We may not listen as well as we normally do under Mercury in Leo.
Venus is in Gemini from July 4-31. In Gemini, we have a finger in every pie. Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels. “Variety is the spice of life” is the attitude now. We are sociable, communicative, and interested. We can be animated and fun but may also keep our distance on an emotional level. Attractions now may begin with words, as we tend to bond more readily on a mental level with Venus in Gemini. The shadow side of Gemini is fickleness.
Mars is in Cancer from June 4-July 20. We pursue our interests ardently, but we avoid a direct approach to going after we want. As well, our goals and plans are subject to mood swings and vacillations. We are defensive rather than overtly aggressive. Much of what we do depends on our mood of the moment.
Mars is in Leo from July 20-September 5. In Leo, Mars is proud, self-confident, and grand. We are spirited and have grand goals. We go after what we want in a direct, self-assured manner, desiring dramatic results. We prefer not to worry about details, and take the least complicated route to our goals. The sex drive is strong, and passion for life is high.
Saturn transits Sagittarius from December 23, 2014, to June 14, 2015, and then from September 17, 2015, to December 20, 2017. Read about Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius here.
Jupiter entered Libra on September 9th, 2016, and will transit Libra until October 10, 2017. Read about Jupiter in Libra here.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011 and will transit Aries until May 15, 2018, and then from November 6, 2018, to March 6, 2019. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Gemini from July 4-31. In Gemini, Venus is communicative, sociable but emotionally aloof, insatiably curious, and a little bit flighty. Inconsistency with our affections is a strong possibility, but the desire for a meeting of minds is strong and the urge to socialize dominates. Some detachment from our emotions is likely, which may be a breath of fresh air for some. The lines of communication open, although we may only scratch the surface of things. Under this influence, love is playful and lighthearted. Fickleness is the shadow side of Venus in Gemini.
This week: Boredom or restlessness with ordinary pleasures is likely on Sunday. A desire to experiment may be fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying or frustrating. Sunday can also be challenging for seeing one another clearly. We may not know what or who to believe now as wishful (or fearful) thinking distorts our perceptions in our love lives. Monday through Wednesday are excellent for making the best of our situations, for promoting cooperation and harmony, and for generosity in love. We take pride in ourselves and our relationships. Thursday has its ups and downs as our desire to enjoy our relationships can be at odds with a tendency to suspect problems. Friday and Saturday are wonderful for playfulness in love.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Gemini July 4-31.
Venus semi-square Mars July 14-15. Tensions in relationships. Attempting to satisfy romantic needs and assertive/sexual needs simultaneously can be challenging.
Venus semi-square Uranus July 16. Uncertainty about the desire to be close to someone. Freedom versus closeness. A desire to experiment in the romance department may be fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying or frustrating.
Venus square Neptune July 16-17. Relationship ups and downs characterize this transit–a time when romantic mirages are more than likely. We see what we hope to see, rather than what really is. The “highs” of a relationship begun under this energy may be thrilling, but the accompanying “lows” are bound to set in, and they can be extremely draining. Be careful not to set yourself up for disappointment.
Venus trine Jupiter July 17-18. Harmony and good will reign under this influence. Expansive feelings in love, and a feeling that anything is possible if we set our sights high enough, are experienced now. We are friendly, big-hearted, sociable, and optimistic. It is easy to make social contacts under this influence. Cheerfulness, trust, and confidence in love and social matters.
Venus parallel the Sun July 18-19. A strong desire for harmony and comfort fill us now. We may be moved to express our affections.
Venus quincunx Pluto July 20. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Venus parallel Mars July 21-22. Favors romantic and sexual relationships. Intense passions.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, July 16th, from 10:20 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Uranus), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Monday, July 17th, at 1:05 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, July 19th, from 2:12 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mars), until the Moon enters Gemini at 3:32 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, July 21st, from 1:42 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Uranus), until the Moon enters Cancer at 4:11 AM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Mercury quincunx Pluto. Something we write or say could trigger power struggles or hostility from others. We may be plagued with self-doubt in our attempts to make decisions. Decisions made now are unlikely to be objective. Re-assessing decisions we have made already, or adjusting our plans, may be in order. Second-guessing.
Venus semi-square Uranus. Unusual attractions (to people and things) can have us acting on a whim. We may deal with freedom versus closeness issues in our relationships. Avoid impulse buys at this time, and hold off on decision-making with regards to finances. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness is probable in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye with a loved one, and we could be taken off guard by unexpected events. This is not a favorable aspect for beauty treatments because they could have unexpected results.
Venus square Neptune. Relationship ups and downs characterize this transit - a time when romantic mirages are more than likely. We see what we hope to see, rather than what really is. The "highs" of a relationship begun under this energy may be thrilling, but the accompanying "lows" are bound to set in, and they can be extremely draining. Be careful not to set yourself up for disappointment. The same goes for finances - what appears to be a great buy is likely to turn out to be a financial drain or money pit. Lines can blur when it comes to the pursuit of pleasure, as we can convince ourselves to believe what we want to believe.
Mars square Uranus. We have a tendency to take risks, to feel restless, and to act on sudden impulses without considering consequences. We assert our wills and individuality powerfully, and we are willing to fight for freedom. We might feel rebellious in the face of rules and regulations, particularly those we might feel are outdated, or anything that requires us to conform. There may be changes in work schedules, or life's circumstances could challenge us in such a way that we need to change our goals or actions. Energy is stop and go, and it can be hard to focus on only one activity.
Mars trine Chiron. We may have the opportunity to take the lead, or to take action, regarding matters that lead to healing, cleansing, or teaching now. We can feel a sense of mission. There is likely to be a feeling of fearlessness when it comes to addressing problem areas, and increased self-confidence as well. There is a drive to take positive action, likely to defend or help others (or ourselves). It's a strong period for cooperation and purposeful activity.
Venus trine Jupiter. Friendliness and optimism characterize this transit. We are big-hearted and our feelings are expansive. The outlook is cheerful and hopeful and the atmosphere is cooperative. This is a sociable, perhaps lazy and self-indulgent, time. We easily find meaning in our social connections. We are more open and trusting of friends and lovers. Integrity and loyalty are favored. A favorable influence for winning people's trust. Speculation, advertising, publishing, and travel are favored.
Mars sesquiquadrate Neptune. Disorganization, lack of drive, lack of forethought, impracticality, and carelessness are strong possible energies to deal with now. Energy and time are wasted too easily. It's hard to know what we want and where we're headed under this influence, and passive-aggressive behavior is likely, as we may not feel effective enough to take direct action or assert ourselves directly. There may be a desire to act upon an impractical or wild fantasy, or a great impulse.
Mercury trine Saturn. Clear, realistic thinking characterizes this influence. A good time to get organized, to do detail work, and to prepare for the future. Decisions made now tend to be practical and well thought out. Work done now is likely to beget tangible results in the future. Conversations may be spare but to the point. Manifestation and achievement are what satisfy.
Venus quincunx Pluto. This is a time of adjustments and reassessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Sun square Uranus. We can't expect much of anything when the Sun squares Uranus, except the unexpected! Disrupted routines and plans are in order, which help to stimulate the adoption of new approaches. During this transit, we feel the need for action, but if we don't know where we're headed, we might take the wrong turn. Unexpected changes in plans or events can test our patience, and we might feel a bit out of control. However, they could stimulate us to try new approaches and they certainly act to cut boredom. This transit could offer us the drive to do something new, but avoid making hasty major decisions for the time being.
Sun trine Chiron. A sense of purpose or a “mission” is with us now, increasing our confidence. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and through others is strong. Problem solving is favored.
Sun sesquiquadrate Neptune. Our willpower is low as we stray from our goals and temporarily lose focus. It’s difficult to formulate — or stick to — clear goals during this transit. Concentrating on artistic or spiritual pursuits is better than focusing on matters that require straightforward, factual thinking today. It can be difficult knowing where or how to direct our willpower under this influence. It’s also a challenge knowing where we stand with others. Avoid such things as scheduling surgery, important appointments, job interviews, or launches of new projects at this time.

JULY 16
The Moon is in direct, pioneering Aries all day, and we’re emotionally geared up to take action or begin something new. A Mercury-Pluto quincunx can point to some tensions related to what (or how) we communicate, which can trigger hostility, negative feedback, or perhaps power struggles. It can be difficult to make objective decisions now, or we may be revisiting past decisions and adjusting our plans. We may second-guess others or our own choices now. A Venus-Uranus semi-square suggests some issues that pit freedom against closeness. It can also stimulate unusual attractions to things, people, and situations! Restlessness interferes with our comfort today. However, the detours we take now may be stimulating.
The Moon is void from 10:20 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Uranus), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Monday, July 17th, at 1:05 AM EDT.
JULY 17
The Moon leaves Aries early today, at 1:05 AM EDT, after which it transits Taurus. This morning’s square between Venus and Neptune may stimulate infatuations, fantasies, and dreams of people or things, but also a tendency to be unrealistic enough to let ourselves down. Ups and downs are possible now on a social level. Our perceptions of the value of people in our lives, business affairs, or personal possessions can be off. Later today, Mars in Cancer forms a square to Uranus in Aries, and we can be feeling a little stir crazy. Inner tension begs for release now. We have had a greater interest in our home lives, family, and close relationships, but our needs for independence and freedom surface, perhaps disruptively. We may be too quick to act on immediate desires or to rebel if we feel at all confined or restrained. There may be changes in schedules or circumstances that challenge us to change our goals or adjust our actions.
The Moon continues its void period until 1:05 AM EDT when it enters Taurus.
JULY 18
The Moon is in Taurus all day, encouraging enjoyment of the world of the five senses. Reinforcing a theme of the seeking out of pleasure is Taurus’ ruler, Venus, in harmonious aspect to Jupiter today. This morning, Mars forms a trine to Chiron. We may have the opportunity to take the lead –or to take action — regarding matters that lead to healing, cleansing, or teaching now. There can be a feeling of fearlessness when it comes to addressing problem areas. There is a drive to take positive action, most notably to defend or help others (or ourselves). It’s a strong period for cooperation and purposeful activity, although a dynamic aspect between Mars and Neptune can point to some questioning of our resolve. This afternoon, the happy Venus-Jupiter connection stimulates friendly energy and our desire for the ideal, and it can lift our spirits further. Our tolerance for rudeness or crassness decreases. This aspect helps to both soften and strengthen us. We are big-hearted, and our feelings are big, begging expression. Gestures tend to be thoughtful and verbal. We’re hopeful, cheerful, and cooperative. This is a sociable, perhaps lazy and self-indulgent, time. We are quick to find meaning in our social connections. We are especially open and trusting of others, expecting the best, and both integrity and loyalty are favored.
JULY 19
The Moon finishes its transit of Taurus at 3:32 AM EDT, after which it transits Gemini. The Gemini Moon is thought-oriented, talkative, and curious. We adapt quickly to our environment, and our interests and tastes are flexible. While the Moon in Gemini is typically a lighthearted influence, Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, is connecting with serious Saturn, and we’re a little more focused and sober than usual. Mercury’s trine to Saturn today stimulates our need for more order and organization in our lives and encourages practical, clear thinking. This is the time for bringing the bigger ideas and concepts down to earth, adding the details necessary to make them work in the real world. We’re seeking clarity now, and we’re drawn to useful information, conversations, and news.
A void of course Moon occurs from 2:12 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mars), until the Moon enters Gemini at 3:32 AM EDT.
JULY 20
This is an astrologically busy day. The Moon is in changeable, curious Gemini all day. Mars enters Leo this morning and will stay in the sign until September 5th. Mars in Leo is proud, self-confident, and grand. We go after what we want in a direct, self-assured manner during this cycle, desiring dramatic results. We prefer not to worry about details, and take the least complicated route to our goals. Passion for life is high, and this theme will be reinforced further when the Sun also enters Leo on the 22nd. A Venus-Pluto quincunx active today, however, points to the need to make adjustments or reassessments in our close relationships, with our finances, or our pursuit of pleasure and entertainment. Issues of power and control can arise. Fears of loss or betrayal could be at the heart of suspicions and doubts raised now, and we may feel awkward or uncertain about expressing our feelings. The Sun forms a challenging square to Uranus and then moves towards a trine to Chiron. Changes made now seem out of character or abrupt. Disrupted routines and plans are likely, and while they can be unsettling at first, they can also help to stimulate the adoption of new approaches. Our strong desire for independence or to break the rules could impair our judgment, although we can be willing to learn from our mistakes or we might choose to adopt a more careful approach to making necessary changes now.
JULY 21
The Moon’s transit of Gemini ends at 4:11 AM EDT, after which the Moon is in Cancer, turning our attention to emotional safety, familiarity, and security. With the Sun’s minor challenging aspect to Neptune this morning, we may struggle with a weak willpower or lack of focus, direction, or purpose. We might consider ways to come to a better balance between material and spiritual pursuits. With Venus and Mars parallel in declination today, we are encouraged to take action on making things harmonious, peaceful, and beautiful. It’s also an excellent time for physical expression, dancing, and arts.
A void of course Moon occurs from 1:42 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Uranus), until the Moon enters Cancer at 4:11 AM EDT.
JULY 22
The Sun enters Leo today and will transit the sign until August 22nd. In Leo, the Sun is proud, outgoing, and playful. It’s time to shine, add a touch of color and drama to our lives, and perform. Like the flowers and fruit of the season–blossoming and ripened–this is a time when we want to enjoy ourselves and express ourselves. The Leo Sun is intensely individual–not content with simply being just one of the team. We are more generous and grand in our gestures and attitudes. On the shadow side, we can also be self-centered and vain during this cycle. The Moon transits Cancer all day, and we tend to respond to challenges or stress by retreating or withdrawing. We’re primarily concerned with family and close loved ones. We’re likely to feel protective of ourselves and others today. We’d be wise to wind down and reflect upon recent events now with the Balsamic Moon and a New Moon set to occur tomorrow.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
When the Moon is in Taurus
We are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and "stop to smell the roses." Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence.
While the Moon is in Taurus, people can be emotionally constant but inflexible. It's a time of stronger focus on personal needs and comfort levels, and a period of more common sense and attention to practical matters.
The Moon in Taurus generally favors the following activities: Substantial and material actions that yield solid results. Financial activities, and those involving personal possessions, applying for a loan, beginning a potentially long-term relationship, music, home decor.
When the Moon is in Gemini
Our basic instinct is to communicate, think, and learn under the influence of Moon in Gemini. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, spirited, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle.
The Moon in Gemini generally favors the following activities: Mental and communicative actions, and more than one activity at once. Reading, learning, letters and emails, errands, writing, teaching, making connections, cafes, light and airy meetings, short trips.
When the Moon is in Cancer
The restlessness of the Gemini Moon gives way to an instinctive need for peace and quiet. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us.
The Moon in Cancer generally favors the following activities: Domestic activities, those that involve awareness of personal needs. Home decor, family get-togethers.
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Cancer Being more in touch with your emotional roots is a keynote of the cycle that now takes hold in your life. This has to do with feelings, but it’s more than that: it’s about making the things you feel and care about a reality. At some levels, this means a greater focus on family life – parents, children, relatives, the whole domestic scene. On a somewhat broader scale, you’re likely to find that houses and other real property take on greater significance for you. Nurturing is where it’s at in your life now: making things grow and taking care of them, planting seeds that will develop and survive far into the future – that’s what it’s all about.
Mercury in Leo The hallmark of the cycle you have just begun is thinking, learning and communicating with style. Intellectual creativity is highlighted, and your social connections have a certain flair of drama to them. Winning the admiration of others for the things you say or write (and the way you do it) takes on more importance in your life.
Venus in Gemini Saying (or writing) it with style comes natural now. A yen for variety is a hallmark of this phase, and this especially applies to romantic experience and artistic tastes. (The latter tends to focus on literature in general and poetry in particular.) A sociable, congenial, slightly frivolous orientation sets in.
Mars in Cancer Defensive, aren’t we? With this new cycle getting underway, protecting and preserving you and yours takes on a higher than usual priority. A sensitivity to the needs and wants of others and an appreciation for their frailties (as well as your own) makes you more cautious and conservative … you pick your battles with care.
Mars in Leo The thrill of the chase, the smell of the greasepaint, the roar of the crowd: that’s what gets your juices flowing now that you’ve entered a new cycle. To be appreciated, to be admired (adored, even) – that’s what you crave. It’s a time of creativity, drama, and passion; a time when grabbing the spotlight and stealing the scene gives you a thrill. Is winning everything? No – but it’s way ahead of whatever comes in second!
Jupiter in Libra The ties that bind, the harmonious integration of opposites, the perfect balance: these are the keys to your greatest opportunities now. Marriage and other close personal relationships tend to offer bright prospects, and you have a deep yearning to experience the fulfillment they can bring.
Saturn in Sagittarius The new phase now beginning in your life brings a need to break out of narrow concepts and legalistic philosophical or religious ideas. Remember: “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.” Opportunities to broaden your mental horizons may not come with ease, but they are essential if you are to avoid a kind of spiritual stagnation.
Uranus in Aries A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
