The LAST QUARTER MOON occurs on Monday, January 8, 2018, at 5:25 PM EST.
The Last Quarter Moon is exact on Monday afternoon when the Sun in Capricorn forms a square with the Moon in Libra. The Last Quarter Moon phase points to some sort of crisis of consciousness. After basking in the awareness symbolized by the full light of the Moon at the time of last week’s Full Moon, we disperse our knowledge and come to a point when we need to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon, when something new is born once again.
This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes a descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to begin finishing up the details of that which was conceived at the last New Moon. What revelations did you have last week? What did they mean for you? What can be done now?
This phase of the Moon occurs at 18 degrees and 36 minutes of Libra, square the Sun at 18 degrees and 36 minutes of Capricorn, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 17 to 21 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.
A FULL MOON occurred on Monday, January 1, 2018, at 9:25 PM EST. On Monday night, a Full Moon occurred when the Cancer Moon exactly opposes the Capricorn Sun. The Cancer-Capricorn polarity deals with the balance between the private life, domesticity, the need for a home base, and nurturance (represented by Cancer) versus the public life, career, reputation, and accountability (represented by Capricorn).
Attachments and love are ruled by Cancer, while achievements and rewards/punishments are ruled by Capricorn. In some ways, this polarity deals with the balance between unconditional love and conditional love. The Cancer Moon encourages us to value our home base and our roots, while Capricorn persuades us to consider our sense of duty and responsibility along public lines. While Cancer may be content to be dependent, Capricorn urges us to be grown-up and responsible. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do.
This Full Moon is about balancing our commitment to our career and families. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them. This lunation aligns with Venus and harmonizes with Mars and Neptune (almost exactly, in Neptune’s case). We’re expressing our neediness now, although we may swing from independence to dependence at this time. Something is exposed or illuminated, prompting us to get in touch with those things in our personal lives that we may have been neglecting or putting off. With so much attention to our relationships, careers, and personal plans these days, a push for considering our emotional needs occurs now.
The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
This phase of the Moon occurred at 11 degrees and 38 minutes of Cancer opposition the Sun at 11 degrees and 38 minutes of Capricorn, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 8-16 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

(Times are Eastern)
The Sun is in Capricorn; Mercury is in Sagittarius until the 11th, when Mercury enters Capricorn; Venus is in Capricorn; Mars is in Scorpio.
The Sun is in Capricorn from December 21, 2017 – January 19, 2018. We are motivated by feelings of responsibility, ambition, and respect for law and order. Capricorn derives much satisfaction in completion and accomplishment. Standards, structures, and an appreciation for order are Capricorn themes. Capricorn wants tangible results, knows what is feasible and what is not, and is most comfortable working within an established framework and known boundaries or limits. Working towards a long-term goal is most satisfying with this influence.
Mercury is in Sagittarius from November 5-January 11. When Mercury is in Sagittarius, our thinking shifts from a need to plumb the depths of any given situation to the desire to learn about a wide range of topics. Ideals are sought, our thinking is more optimistic, and our faith increases. We are more equipped to believe and to persuade. What is fair and unfair concerns us most now. However, we are not always very precise under this influence.
Mercury is in Capricorn from January 11-31. When Mercury is in Capricorn, our thinking is methodical and our focus is sober and practical. It is easier to concentrate on the task at hand under this influence. Our conversations may be quite realistic or focused on business/practical matters. Our thought patterns and communication styles become more logical, orderly, and organized. We are more able to sort out what is relevant and essential. Realism enters the picture, our speech is no-nonsense, and precision becomes important to us. We need to be wary of becoming too rigid in our thinking. We may come across as cold or harsh. For some, there is a fine line between realism and pessimism.
Venus is in Capricorn from December 25-January 17. Getting serious about our finances and boosting our relations with business partners and/or co-workers will be easier than usual under this influence. Our talents for creating artistic structure and form are enhanced, and our ability to form connections with people who support our ambitions is increased. We value enduring connections, reliability, and faithfulness. We take expressing our feelings seriously, and we take our time to warm up to others. We generally keep our “cool” in relationships.
Mars is in Scorpio from December 9-January 26. In Scorpio, Mars is driven and focused on getting what it wants. We are persevering, single-minded, and strong. The desire to experience our emotional depths, as well as the urge to penetrate the surface of life in order to explore deeper levels of existence, is powerful. We are fascinated with what others tend to repress, and are drawn to experiencing and understanding these things. We are less inclined to avoid important issues now. In some ways, we are attracted to crisis, as we see crisis as transformative and emotionally exciting. We would rather feel extreme emotions than nothing at all, as mediocrity or the “middle road” is felt to be unsatisfying.
Saturn transits Capricorn from December 19/20, 2017, to March 21, 2020; and then finishes up its transit from July 1 to December 17, 2020. Read about Saturn’s transit through Capricorn here.
Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 10th and will remain in the sign until November 8th, 2018. Read about Jupiter in Scorpio transit here.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011 and will transit Aries until May 15, 2018, and then from November 6, 2018, to March 6, 2019. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Capricorn from December 25-January 17. Getting serious about our finances and boosting our relations with business partners and/or co-workers will be easier than usual under this influence. Our talents for creating artistic structure and form are enhanced, and our ability to form connections with people who support our ambitions is increased. We value enduring connections, reliability, and faithfulness. We take expressing our feelings seriously, and we take our time to warm up to others. We generally keep our “cool” in relationships.
This week: This is a potent period for Venus. Venus aligns with the Sun and Pluto and forms sextiles to Mars and Jupiter on Sunday through Tuesday. This can be a time when talents are discovered, brought to life or put to good use. We’re using a balanced combination of attraction and pursuit for achieving what you want. We’re throwing a lot of ourselves into what we are pursuing or doing, seeking attention. We have a stronger understanding of economics and a keen sense of what to do and what not to do. We want to grow in our relationships, and our pride is quite heavily invested in our ability to relate well. Our standards are high, and our goals are ambitious but reasonable. The intensity in our feelings and relationships can lead to a turning point or the taking of constructive action. On Wednesday and Thursday, we are taking our connections seriously. This can be a time of practical assessments in our relationships.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Capricorn Marry for money and then learn to love ’em: that’s what your heart tells you now, as a new cycle gets underway in your life. Does that sound cynical? Maybe so – but it does reflect the yearning you feel for security and stability now, and it suggests the kind of compromises you may be willing to make to accomplish these objectives.
Venus sextile Neptune January 2-3. Unusual attractions that add imagination, inspiration, and emotional “color” to our lives may occur now. We are attuned to the subtleties of human interaction, and we are more inclined to naturally cooperate with others. An imaginative, romantic time.
Venus sextile Jupiter January 7-8. This aspect generates a happy, friendly, and optimistic attitude. People are a little more outgoing and sociable. Favors travel, education, and culture. Romantic opportunities. Harmony and good will.
Venus conjunct Pluto January 8-9. An extraordinarily passionate time for relationships. We are focused and confident. There is a tendency to want–and to demand–a lot from a partnership or friendship. Powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships. New insights into relationships and love. Strong attractions. Relationships begun under this influence are intense and passionate, deep and far from superficial, and can be quite possessive as well.
Venus conjunct the Sun January 8-9. Good relating is the focus, although some may find this energy superficial in that surface charm, diplomacy, and harmony is the goal. The pursuit of pleasure is emphasized.
Venus sextile Mars January 8-9. This points to success and ease in close personal interactions. We are passionate and sexy. It is a good time for financial ventures, social life, artistic pursuits, romance, and pleasure. We are now able to take the initiative and to achieve harmony and sexual fulfillment. This influence brings satisfaction to the feelings. We may make permanent ties or relationships that prove to be fruitful and fortunate.
Venus parallel Mercury January 8-9. A congenial time when we appreciate diplomacy and socialize more readily.
Venus parallel Saturn January 10-11. We may express our affection sparingly, but also responsibly and in practical ways. Relationships begun under this influence often feel burdensome over time, but they may last longer than most.
Venus square Uranus January 13. We might have to deal with issues of freedom versus intimacy during this period. Peculiar or impulsive attractions are exciting, but unlikely to last very long. Treat them as passing fancies, and enjoy them while they last–but try to hold off on making any big decisions with regards to love today.
Venus sextile Chiron January 13. Love has the power to heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings and more willing to act upon them.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Saturday, January 6th, from 9:51 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Mercury), until the Moon enters Libra the next day, Sunday, January 7th, at 7:15 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Tuesday, January 9th, from 11:13 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mercury), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 3:06 PM EST.
VOC Moon on Thursday, January 11th, from 9:54 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Venus), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Friday, January 12th, at 2:05 AM EST.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Sun sextile Jupiter. This transit can bring hopefulness, goodwill, and increased influence into our lives. It’s favorable for marketing, publishing, and advertising, as well as any self-promotion activities. We may be especially sociable, tolerant, and generous under this influence. Confidence comes from a stronger sense of who we are and the principles we represent. Some form of recognition or distinction is possible now. We are more able to grasp the “big picture” which expands our perspective.
Venus sextile Jupiter. Cooperation, consideration for others, cheerfulness, positive attitude towards relationships, romantic opportunities, harmony. Favors financial endeavors. Optimistic spiritual energy is brought to relationships. We tend to connect to a higher purpose regarding our personal relationships and our values, attaching meaning to them. We may enjoy a feeling of well-being now. Ease is experienced in social situations. We are freer with our affections (and our money). This is also a favorable transit for entertaining and socializing.
Mars sextile Pluto. We are able to successfully focus on our goals, to take decisive action, and to go after what we want without stepping on others’ toes under this influence.
Venus conjunct Sun. We are motivated by the desire to strike a balance in our relationships and in our environment. Smooth negotiations with others. Graciousness, diplomacy, charm, and some superficiality. This is a good period for social affairs, pleasure, amusement, and romance, all things considered.
Venus conjunct Pluto. This is an “all or nothing” energy. We have the power of attraction at our disposal. Things shouldn’t be forced, even though the desire to sway, coerce, and manipulate others may be present. Passions are strong and intense. There is a tendency to want–and to demand–a lot from a partnership or friendship. This is a time when we can be focused and confident, especially when it comes to handling business and finances, as well as with regards to love and partnership.
Sun conjunct Pluto. We are strong-willed and focused under this influence. The need to gain more control over our lives motivates us. We benefit now from strategy and keeping things to ourselves for the time being.
Venus sextile Mars. This points to success and ease in close personal interactions. We are feeling passionate, warm, expressive, lively and sexy. Our creativity and desire to make something beautiful is stimulated now.
Sun sextile Mars. We are able to creatively solve problems and to instinctively take action when necessary under this influence. Stress is eased as we feel confident about our abilities and our judgment. We are more able to assert ourselves without rubbing people the wrong way.
Mercury conjunct Saturn. Our ability to concentrate and focus is enhanced now. There could be an increased need for solitude in order to think or work. Travel for business purposes is possible. Thinking in realistic and practical terms, and the need for tangible results for our efforts, is indicated. We might receive serious news or practical advice, or engage in an important conversation. This can mark the start of a new project that involves communications, such as writing, speaking, reporting, etc.
Venus square Uranus. Values and tastes may clash, and group activities may suffer as a result. Impulsive attractions to both people and material goods can lead us astray. Avoid impulse buys at this time. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness is probable in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye, and we might be taken off guard by unexpected events. This is not a favorable aspect for beauty treatments because they could have unexpected results. We may struggle with freedom versus intimacy issues at this time. Hold off on decision-making with regards to finances.
Venus sextile Chiron. We have the chance to heal our personal relationships now, as we are more open to intimacy and commitment, as well as learning from one another. We more easily see beauty in human weaknesses. It’s a strong time for building trust in relationships.
Mercury semi-square Jupiter. We experience information overload, and we neglect to consider details. People tend to exaggerate today. Monotonous mental tasks are harder to take under this influence. Our minds are restless.

JANUARY 7
The Moon continues its transit of Virgo until 7:15 AM EST, after which the Moon is in Libra. With the Moon in charming Libra, we find the most emotional satisfaction when our interactions and environment are felt to be balanced and harmonious. Pleasing others is a theme now, making it a good time for negotiations and peace-making. Conflicts tend to be avoided or averted, or resolved in a diplomatic and fair manner. We are especially aware of the points of view of others and the opposite side of the coin, which can lead to indecision, however. The Moon’s square to Saturn shortly before noon puts a damper on our spirits temporarily as we are reminded of all we need to accomplish. Even so, we’re moving into a very creative configuration as the Sun, Venus, and Pluto head towards a conjunction and form sextiles to Mars and Jupiter, and we’re likely to feel some of this from midday forward. We’re ambitious, proud, and ready to make improvements in our relationships.
The Moon ends its void period when it enters Libra at 7:15 AM EST.
JANUARY 8
Venus, the Sun, and Pluto are heading to an alignment, exact very early tomorrow but in influence today. The Sun and Venus sextile Jupiter and Mars sextiles Pluto today, and this can be a time when talents are discovered, brought to life or put to good use. We’re both attracting and pursuing what/who we want in a balanced manner that’s highly successful. Our standards are high, and our goals are ambitious but also doable. We’re pouring a lot of ourselves (energy, passion, or resources) into our ventures or relationships now, and we’re seeking or gaining attention for it. We want to grow in our relationships, and our pride is quite heavily invested in our ability to relate well. The intensity in our feelings and relationships can lead to a turning point or the taking of constructive action. We may be unusually sociable, tolerant, and generous. This is a beautiful time for marketing, promotion, publishing, and advertising activities. We’re particularly good with money, and our business sense is excellent. We have a stronger understanding of economics and a keen sense of what to do and what not to do for maximum benefit. We want to gain more control of our lives, but we also want to grow, advance, and excel. This marks a turning point for relationships and businesses. The Moon is in Libra all day and the Last Quarter Moon occurs at 5:26 PM EST, and we see things from a more mature or experienced perspective.
JANUARY 9
The Sun, Venus, and Pluto align in the sign of Capricorn this morning, and this can mark a critical turning point for our relationships, businesses, ambitions, or projects. We reawaken to the beauty of life around us. Fresh energy is brought to our close relationships, and a new take on our psychological development and growth is likely now as we see our feelings and fears more clearly. Issues of power and control can arise. As the day advances, Venus and the Sun form sextiles to Mars (Sun sextile Mars perfects very shortly into tomorrow), encouraging cooperation. Our desire to harmonize, create something wonderful, and connect creatively is strong. We quite naturally take action on our plans and ideas, and our confidence in ourselves aids problem-solving and decision making. The Moon continues its transit of relationship-focused Libra until 3:06 PM EST, after which the Moon is in Scorpio.
The Moon is void from 11:13 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mercury), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 3:06 PM EST.
JANUARY 10
The Moon spends the day in Scorpio, and we’re inclined to look for, and attempt to understand, the hidden layers of people and situations. We are fascinated with what others tend to repress, and are drawn to experiencing and understanding these things. The Moon’s harmony with Neptune this afternoon pulls out our more imaginative, compassionate side. We feel more confident about our intuition and imagination is enhanced.
JANUARY 11
Mercury enters Capricorn early today, where it will transit until the 31st. While Mercury is in Capricorn, our thinking is methodical, and our focus is sober and practical. It’s easier to concentrate on the task at hand under this influence, particularly if its usefulness is apparent to us. Our conversations may be quite realistic or focused on business/practical matters. Our thought patterns and communication styles are more logical, orderly, and organized during this cycle. We’re more able to sort out what is relevant and essential. Realism enters the picture, our speech is no-nonsense, and precision becomes important to us. We need to be wary of becoming too rigid in our thinking under this influence, as we may come across as cold or harsh. For some, there is a fine line between realism and pessimism. Otherwise, some sharpening of focus can be very useful now. The Moon in Scorpio aligns with Mars and Jupiter and harmonizes with the Sun, Venus, and Pluto, extending the themes of recent days as we may be lingering on them or using recent experiences as fuel for motivation. We’re braver about facing emotional issues head-on now.
The Moon is void from 9:54 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Venus), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Friday, January 12th, at 2:05 AM EST.
JANUARY 12
The Moon leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius at 2:05 AM. The Moon in Sagittarius is forward-looking and optimistic, but as Mercury and Saturn move to a conjunction in the sign of Capricorn, exact very early tomorrow, we’re inclined to think and communicate about serious matters, responsibilities, duties, and worries or grievances. Our ability to concentrate is enhanced now, perhaps because circumstances call for it. There could be an increased need for solitude in order to think or work. This is a time for thinking in realistic and practical terms and of increased demand for tangible results for our efforts. We might receive serious news or practical advice, or engage in a critical conversation. This can mark the start of a new project that involves communications, such as writing, speaking, reporting, etc. There might also be a verbal or written commitment made now, or we could experience a form of reality check. Mercury first formed a conjunction to Saturn while both bodies were in Sagittarius, and then returned to align while Mercury was retrograde in December.
The Moon ends its void period when the Moon enters Sagittarius at 2:05 AM EST.
JANUARY 13
The Moon is in Sagittarius all day, and we’re inclined to seek freedom, movement, and growth. Venus squares Uranus today, presenting a potential challenge or struggle. Values and tastes may clash, and social activities may suffer as a result. Impulsive attractions to both people and material goods can lead us astray. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness are possible in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye, and we might be taken off guard by unexpected events. We may struggle with freedom versus intimacy issues at this time. Hold off on decision-making with regards to finances, as there is a tendency to act on a whim rather than reason. However, Venus sextiles Chiron, and there is a simultaneous drive for intimacy and sharing. We more readily see beauty in human weaknesses. A semi-square between Mercury and Jupiter, further suggesting impatience with routine patterns and tedious mental tasks.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Virgo
We instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice the smaller parts that make up the whole, and instead of letting nagging details bother us, we might work on ironing them out so that we can feel more confident moving ahead.
The Moon in Virgo generally favors the following activities: Mental pursuits, work activities, services, and routines. Activities that would benefit from tending to details.
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Capricorn You see what’s wrong and you know what to do now: the time has come to make it real, and it’s a lot bigger than any one person. This means cooperation and organization, authority and discipline, responsibility – and all these things are what it takes to get you where you know you must go. But take care! If your vision is only for yourself, what you create cannot last: it must be for some greater good. Ambition, practicality, and achievement are admirable, but they are means to an end – not ends in themselves.
Mercury in Sagittarius A time of expanding your mental horizons is at hand. Religion, philosophy, law, and education are some of the things that may have special importance for you now. Being in touch with faraway people and places satisfies an intellectual yearning – curiosity will take you anywhere and maybe everywhere.
Mercury in Capricorn Figuring out how to organize projects and people is apt to become a topic of special interest – and a challenge – at a time like this. Opinions are not enough for you now: they must be backed by authority or evidence, and above all, they must have practical worth and application. A period of intense study and thought.
Mars in Scorpio Tear it down and build it up again, reach in and pluck out the offending element: that’s what the new cycle you have entered is like. Power becomes a compelling idea, perhaps even an aphrodisiac – and you’ve got a stronger than usual supply of it now. Use it, don’t abuse it – or you might find that it’s a two-edged sword!
Jupiter in Scorpio The phase now beginning for you emphasizes fixing what is broken or unhealthy, thereby giving it a new lease on life. This is more than one person alone can handle, so the cooperation of others is essential. You give up something in order to get or create something, and you may not understand the reasons why at the time. Sex, money, power, and vitality become key issues.
Saturn in Capricorn Responsibility, hard work, ambition, and achievement: these are the foundations you need to build on now, as a new cycle dawns in your life. And yet, there is a tendency to be a little too hard, perhaps a bit cold, in your approach to these things. Let ambition take you to the top, but don’t let it lull you into thinking that the end justifies the means.
Uranus in Aries A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance.
