A FULL MOON occurs on Thursday, March 1st, 2018, at 7:52 PM EST.
A Full Moon occurs in the sign of Virgo on Thursday. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
With the Virgo-Pisces service axis involved, this Full Moon presses us to find a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Pisces). Virgo rules the tools and techniques that we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools that we use to deal with our spiritual selves.
Some sort of crisis (which can be a crisis of consciousness) or sudden awareness of a lack in our lives provides us with a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs within the context of the house polarity where the Full Moon occurs in our natal charts. This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between work and service, practicality and impracticality, criticism and acceptance. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives.
However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is not particularly rational as yet.
This Full Moon occurs in Virgo around the time of a Mercury-Mars square, and there can be impatience or harsh exchanges associated with our discoveries and realizations. However, the lunation harmonizes with Saturn, and this helps us formulate longer-term plans and strategies.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 11 degrees and 23 minutes of Virgo forming an opposition to the Sun at 11 degrees and 23 minutes of Pisces, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 7 to 15 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.

The Sun is in Pisces; Mercury is in Pisces; Venus is in Pisces; Mars is in Sagittarius.
The Sun is in Pisces from February 18-March 20th. With the Sun in Pisces, we are guided by altruistic feelings. We are less motivated to do than we are to feel, imagine, and dream. A “what will be, will be” attitude reigns, and we are guided by a sense of universal correlations. Pisces rules empathy, selfless love, devotion, and wisdom. Its shadow side rules self-pity, a feeling of being victimized by life, passivity, and elusiveness.
Mercury is in Pisces from February 17-March 6. When Mercury is in Pisces, our thinking processes are more visual, intuitive, and imaginative. We are especially attuned to the world of emotion, which colors both our thoughts and our communication style. We guess well, express ourselves with imagery, and make decisions intuitively. We are more attracted to consciousness-raising information.
Venus is in Pisces from February 10-March 6. Pisces never sees the world in black-and-white terms. Rather, Pisces sees all the colors of the rainbow. With the goddess of love in Pisces, our love is all-embracing, we are able to forgive and understand, we are seducible and seductive, and we show compassion to our partners. Venus in Pisces is tender and affectionate, although hard to reach nevertheless, as there is a longing for something that is hard to define and hard to satisfy. Borders and boundaries blur under Venus in Pisces. The shadow side of this position is allowing ourselves to be victimized or deluded, as well as evasiveness.
Mars is in Sagittarius from January 26-March 17. With a Sagittarius Mars, our actions are motivated by our ideals. We are bothered by routine, quickly becoming restless if we feel confined. We have a love of adventure, and of conquest–this is the position of wanderlust. We start projects or challenges with gusto, although we may tend to abandon them rather quickly. This may be because we set our sights too high!
Saturn transits Capricorn from December 19/20, 2017, to March 21, 2020; and then finishes up its transit from July 1 to December 17, 2020. Read about Saturn’s transit through Capricorn here.
Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 10th, 2017, and will remain in the sign until November 8th, 2018. Read about Jupiter in Scorpio transit here.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011, and will transit Aries until May 15, 2018, and then from November 6, 2018, to March 6, 2019. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Pisces from February 10-March 6. Like Aquarius, Pisces love is universal. However, Pisces draws no bounds in love. With Venus in Pisces, we have compassion (and perhaps attraction) for those who are left out, overlooked, or victimized. We are self-sacrificing, and we have a hard time setting up borders. The walls go down, we have a hard time saying no (especially if our compassion is engaged), but we are also prone to avoiding all that makes us feel uncomfortable. Wishful thinking is one expression of Venus in Pisces. We can too easily believe what we want to believe. People can be hard to pin down, and love is hard to define under this influence.
This week: On Monday through Thursday, we have excellent energy with us for growing through our interactions and growing a relationship. Increased cheerfulness, trust, and confidence are likely in love and social matters.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Pisces A martyr complex, a love for the underdog, a search for your soul mate: such are the experiences associated with the new cycle you’re now just beginning. A yen for soul-stirring romance, a weakness for the weak, and a tendency to idealize people and relationships … very aesthetic, very other-worldly.
Venus conjunct Neptune February 20-21. New and fresh beginnings on romantic levels characterize this transit. Heightened sensitivity to, and awareness of, beauty and spirituality. We are easily influenced, seducible and seductive, and given to strong powers of imagination. We are more attuned to the world of beauty and romance. Gentleness with others is the best way to harness this energy. A “magical” time on a romantic and social level, but it could also be a confusing or illusory influence as well. Psychic openness and compassion.
Venus square Mars February 24-25. Passions run high under this influence. Sexual tensions and competitiveness are possible, and there can be conflicts that arise from distinct differences between romantic and sexual needs. There is an air of competitiveness under this influence, which need not be difficult. It can be stimulating, creative, passionate, and invigorating.
Venus sextile Pluto February 26-27. Subtly powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships. New insights into relationships and love. Strong attractions.
Venus trine Jupiter February 28-March 1. Harmony and good will reign under this influence. Expansive feelings in love, and a feeling that anything is possible if we set our sights high enough, are experienced now. We are friendly, big-hearted, sociable, and optimistic. It is easy to make social contacts under this influence. Cheerfulness, trust, and confidence in love and social matters.
Venus conjunct Mercury March 3-4. Favors playfulness in love and enhanced communication between partners.
Venus conjunct Chiron March 4. Healing energy is brought to love relationships, and a new cycle begins. A commitment-friendly transit. Love can heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings, and more willing to act upon them. This is a good time to make a resolution to repair, heal, and improve relationships.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, February 26th, from 4:51 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Uranus), until the Moon enters Leo at 11:42 PM EST.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, February 28th, from 6:14 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Uranus), until the Moon enters Virgo the next day, Thursday, March 1st, at 12:58 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Friday, March 2nd, from 6:51 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Venus), until the Moon enters Libra the next day, Saturday, March 3rd, at 3:21 AM EST.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus square Mars. Passions run high under this influence. Sexual tensions and competitiveness are possible, and there can be conflicts that arise from differences between romantic and sexual needs. Be wary of making impulse purchases. There is an air of competitiveness under this influence, which need not be difficult. It can be stimulating, creative, and invigorating.
Mercury conjunct Neptune. Our intuitive creativity is stimulated under this influence. A very positive transit for artistic and literary endeavors. We get insights into our own minds. Conscious reasoning can be distorted by subconscious matter, so concentrating on cold hard facts can be challenging. Daydreaming, visualization, and prophecy are stimulated. Communications may be unclear, vague, or downright confused. We may be subject to deception. Avoid signing contracts under this influence.
Sun sextile Saturn. We feel grounded and stable. It’s easy to stick to a specific task and make headway. Productivity may be slow, but it’s steady. We are taking into account practical considerations and we are especially aware of the element of time. We are more able to discipline ourselves and put our egos aside in order to get the job done.
Venus sextile Pluto. If we seize the opportunity, this is a good time for both finances and relationships. The feelings are impassioned, but not in an offensive or unpleasant way. We are focused and confident, and we appreciate depth of feeling and authenticity in our dealings with others.
Mercury square Mars. Impatience, hastiness, and disagreements characterize this transit. This is an unfavorable time for any kind of meeting, starting a new project, and business proposals. We can be irritable and say all the wrong things. We may be competing for the floor when it comes to expressing our ideas, thoughts, and opinions, making it difficult to engage in healthy dialogue. Mental agitation could dominate. We may stir up controversy with what we say, or how we say it.
Mercury sextile Pluto. We possess more insight and psychological understanding than usual. We are willing to look beyond the surface of things and investigate further. Perhaps more importantly, we are more patient and strategic in our decision-making.
Venus trine Jupiter. Friendliness and optimism characterize this transit. We are big-hearted and our feelings are expansive. The outlook is cheerful and hopeful and the atmosphere is cooperative. This is a sociable, perhaps lazy and self-indulgent, time. We easily find meaning in our social connections. We are more open and trusting of friends and lovers. Integrity and loyalty are favored. A favorable influence for winning people’s trust. Speculation, advertising, publishing, and travel are favored.
Sun semi-square Uranus. During this transit, we feel the need for action, but if we don’t know where we’re headed, we might take the wrong turn. Unexpected changes in plans or events can test our patience, and we might feel a bit out of control. However, they could stimulate us to try new approaches and they certainly act to cut boredom. This transit could offer us the drive to do something new, but avoid making hasty major decisions for the time being.
Mercury trine Jupiter. Looking for meaning in mundane affairs, positive thinking, insights, cooperation–these are themes of this influence. Our ideas are big and our intentions noble. We might receive good news or offers now. We prefer to think about the big picture rather than becoming bogged down with details. This transit favors short trips, writing, teaching, studying, submitting applications and forms, accurate diagnoses and observations (all things equal).

FEBRUARY 25
A Venus-Mars square this morning can awaken many urges and desires, but these may only be whims or distractions. Even so, discomfort with the status quo can lead to highly creative workarounds and improvements. Disagreements are possible with differences and contrasts standing out more than usual. However, Mercury aligns with Neptune this morning as well, and while it may contribute to frustrations, there is also considerable potential for creative visualization. Our intuitive capacities are stimulated and possibly enhanced now, and we might apply these to everyday issues and problems. Conscious reasoning is distorted or enhanced by subconscious matter, depending on the application and how you look at it. It’s not the best energy for detail work or dealing with hard facts, but it’s useful for visualizing and imagining. Communications can be inspired and inspirational, fanciful, or vague and unclear, and possibly deceptive. A Sun-Saturn sextile this afternoon helps ground us, or at the least, gives us a sense of rhythm and helps us pace ourselves. We are more able to discipline ourselves and put our egos aside to get the job done. This transit has the most wonderful potential to teach us that humbling ourselves to accept constructive criticism and advice — or to recognize areas that need strengthening — can be beneficial.
FEBRUARY 26
The Moon spends most of the day in Cancer, and we crave secure, familiar settings. Feelings of belonging and safety are what motivate us under this influence. We tend to respond to challenges or stress by retreating or withdrawing under the influence of a protective Cancer Moon, and we are primarily concerned with family and close loved ones. Our feelings run deep, and we are unafraid to face them, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us and others. This is a good day for strengthening and supporting others and building trust, although there can be some tension surrounding the Moon’s opposition to Pluto and square to Uranus. We’re focused and confident, and we appreciate depth of feeling and authenticity in our dealings with others especially as the day advances with Venus approaching a sextile to Pluto. The Moon enters Leo at 11:42 PM EST.
The Moon is void from 4:51 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Uranus), until the Moon enters Leo at 11:42 PM EST.
FEBRUARY 27
Venus forms a sextile with Pluto this morning, pointing to new insight or a comfortably strategic approach to our money and relationships. Our feelings can be more focused and intensified than usual, in a generally pleasant and positive way. We appreciate depth of feeling and authenticity in our dealings with others. The Moon spends the day in the sign of Leo, and we are proud, preferring to take the high road in our dealings. Creativity blossoms, we’re more generous with our feelings, and we take pride in our accomplishments.
FEBRUARY 28
The Moon spends another day in the sign of Leo, but today, picks up some major aspects. The Moon’s harmony with Mars and Uranus points to rather easy channels for expressing our creativity or affection, while its square to Jupiter suggests some tendency to go overboard. A Mercury-Mars square today can stimulate impatience, hastiness, and disagreements. We may be competing for the floor when it comes to expressing our ideas, thoughts, and opinions, making it difficult to engage in healthy dialogue. Mental agitation could dominate. We may stir up controversy with what we say, or how we say it. However, if mental competitiveness leads to new thinking, this can be a productive time.
The Moon is void from 6:14 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Uranus), until the Moon enters Virgo the next day, Thursday, March 1st, at 12:58 AM EST.
MARCH 1
This morning, we enjoy a Venus-Jupiter trine, stimulating friendly energy and our desire for the ideal. Our tolerance for rudeness or crassness decreases. This aspect helps to both soften and strengthen us. We are big-hearted, and our feelings are big, begging expression. Gestures tend to be thoughtful, but not always verbal as this connection occurs in emotional signs. We’re hopeful, cheerful, and cooperative. This is a sociable, perhaps lazy and self-indulgent, time. We are quick to find meaning in our social connections. We are especially open and trusting of others, expecting the best, and both integrity and loyalty are favored. A Sun-Uranus semi-square can add a rebellious or unexpected twist to the energies. Sudden changes of plans or events can test our patience, or they stimulate us to try new approaches. The Moon enters Virgo shortly into the day, at 12:58 AM EST and reaches full at 7:52 PM in the sign of Virgo. This Full Moon encourages us to find a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Moon in Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Sun in Pisces). Virgo rules the tools and techniques that we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools that we use to deal with our spiritual selves. This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between work and service, practicality and impracticality, criticism and acceptance. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic illumination occurs in our own lives. This Full Moon occurs in Virgo around the time of a Mercury/Venus-Mars square, and there can be impatient exchanges associated with our discoveries and realizations. However, the lunation harmonizes with Saturn, and this helps us formulate longer-term plans and strategies.
The Moon continues its void period until the Moon enters Virgo at 12:58 AM EST today.
MARCH 2
Venus and Mercury are traveling close to one another and will continue to do so in the next couple of weeks, aligning twice in March, first in Pisces on the 4th and then in Aries on the 19th. Venus formed a trine to Jupiter yesterday, and this morning, Mercury does the same. A Mercury-Jupiter trine points to a positive outlook gained through conversations, a sense of hope or faith in the future, and big-picture thinking. We are seeking out a little extra meaning to our projects and experiences. Our ideas are big and our intentions noble. We might receive good news or offers now. Curiosity is stimulated, and we may gain new insight into problems, particularly emotional issues. The Moon spends the day in Virgo, encouraging our desire to learn, acquire skills, excel at our work, pay special attention to health, and help others. Virgo has to do some battle right now with a strong showing in its opposite sign, Pisces, but we’re likely to eventually see Virgo’s side even if part of us is resisting, and it’s a practical one.
The Moon is void from 6:51 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Venus), until the Moon enters Libra the next day, Saturday, March 3rd, at 3:21 AM EST.
MARCH 3
The Moon completes its transit of Virgo at 3:21 AM EST when it enters Libra. The Moon’s square to Saturn this afternoon occurs frequently enough, but with Saturn in Capricorn until 2020, this transit now happens when the Moon is in Libra or Aries. We may feel blocked from expressing our needs for companionship or the comforts of relationships this afternoon, perhaps due to our responsibilities or our concerns about them. Or, expressing our feelings or needs for others is hard to do at the moment. We’re approaching divine energy for communicating and connecting with Mercury, Venus, and Chiron aligning tomorrow, however. For now, we may be feeling the energies of the impending alignment of the Sun and Neptune, and it can be challenging verbalizing our feelings. This is fine, and in fact, encouraged. We are extremely sensitive to the moods and undercurrents around us. We make judgments intuitively and instinctually. We may have a hard time defining our actions and our goals, perhaps losing some sight of reality and reason. Our morals may be flexible now, as we tend to stretch our usual boundaries. This transit stimulates and enhances spiritual awareness, imagination, and inspiration.
The Moon is void until 3:21 AM EST when the Moon enters Libra.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Cancer
The restlessness of the Gemini Moon gives way to an instinctive need for peace and quiet. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us.
The Moon in Cancer generally favors the following activities: Domestic activities, those that involve awareness of personal needs. Home decor, family get-togethers.
When the Moon is in Leo
The Moon in Leo speaks to our "inner child". It's a warm, generous, whole-heartedly loving position. Pride keeps us from pettiness, but it can also prevent us from opening up and revealing how we are truly feeling. We are on stage, our feelings are grand, and we appreciate some drama in our lives. We are easily threatened by anything that seems to be impersonal. This is a time when we seek attention--when we want to stand out for our special qualities. It's a strong time for romance and any creative activity as well.
The Moon in Leo generally favors the following activities: Creative activities, activities involving children, generous undertakings, undertakings in which personal recognition is desired, and risk-taking.
When the Moon is in Virgo
We instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice the smaller parts that make up the whole, and instead of letting nagging details bother us, we might work on ironing them out so that we can feel more confident moving ahead.
The Moon in Virgo generally favors the following activities: Mental pursuits, work activities, services, and routines. Activities that would benefit from tending to details.
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Pisces The mystic, the martyr, the sinner, and the saint: these archetypes take on greater importance in your life at a time like this. Forgiveness, compassion, and understanding come naturally, when you look at life from an eternal perspective – and if anyone ever does know such things, you’ll probably come to understand them as this cycle unfolds. This can be a phase of sublime spiritual development, to be sure. But you should be aware of tendencies to believe too quickly, too deeply, or to become dependent on things or people that seem to offer quick and easy answers to life’s deepest yearnings.
Mercury in Pisces Knowing things without knowing how you know them is typical at a time like this. The mystical, the universal, the eternal: these are the things that stir your curiosity. Call it psychic, call it deja vu … it can be there when you call on it, whatever you call it. (Remembering the little things might become more difficult, however: it’s tough to remember if you paid the electric bill when you’re more interested in the eternal verities.)
Mars in Sagittarius Ideology is a keynote of the new phase you have begun – the power of ideas and the power they wield over people. Religious, cultural, or philosophical controversies and crusades have a way of stirring your blood. Travel and adventure are compelling temptations as you dare to test your mettle and stretch your horizons.
Jupiter in Scorpio The phase now beginning for you emphasizes fixing what is broken or unhealthy, thereby giving it a new lease on life. This is more than one person alone can handle, so the cooperation of others is essential. You give up something in order to get or create something, and you may not understand the reasons why at the time. Sex, money, power, and vitality become key issues.
Saturn in Capricorn Responsibility, hard work, ambition, and achievement: these are the foundations you need to build on now, as a new cycle dawns in your life. And yet, there is a tendency to be a little too hard, perhaps a bit cold, in your approach to these things. Let ambition take you to the top, but don’t let it lull you into thinking that the end justifies the means.
Uranus in Aries A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
