The Full MOON occurs on Saturday, September 26th, 2026, at 12:49 PM EDT.

A Full Moon, a time of strong emotional energy, occurs when the Sun in Libra forms an opposition to the Moon in Aries early afternoon on Saturday, September 26th. This event marks the culmination and the promise of fulfillment of what we started at the New Moon. It’s a time of heightened emotions, romance, fertilization, and relationships.

The Aries-Libra polarity is a relationship axis, where Aries represents ‘self,’ and Libra represents ‘other.’ Aries is about self-assertion, while Libra is about the power of compromise. Understanding this balance can empower us in our relationships.

Through the energy of the Libra Sun, we are reminded of the importance of relationships and the effort required to maintain them–compromising, negotiating, graciousness, and balancing. The Aries Moon, on the other hand, is self-assertive, leading, and personally courageous.

This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between meeting our personal needs and attending to the needs of a significant other–and between independence or autonomy and dependence or companionability.

The Libra Sun is diplomatic, equality-minded, and fair-minded. The Aries Moon, however, values authenticity over tact and is energized by independent efforts. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict. Neglecting either end of the Aries-Libra axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, we find a balance between the two energies, which the Full Moon invites us to do.

The Full Moon Chart:

This phase of the Moon occurs at 3 degrees and 37 minutes of Aries, opposite the Sun at the same degree of Libra, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 0 to 8 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

This Full Moon is about emotional declarations. Something has been building inside of us, likely of a personal nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the upcoming weeks, we will discover what this declaration means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.

The Full Moon illuminates the conflict between “me” and “you,” and between autonomy and sharing. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic illumination occurs in our own lives.

However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems.

Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not particularly rational.

This lunation reminds us to consider how we are honoring ourselves in the context of our close relationships. New revelations can occur now, particularly in the areas of our physical bodies, leadership skills, our ability to initiate and begin new things, and our close partnerships. We’re brave, determined, and resourceful.

The Moon aligns with Neptune and harmonizes with Pluto and Uranus at the time of this Full Moon.

This week: The Sun is in Virgo until the 22nd, when it enters Libra; Mercury is in Libra; Venus is in Scorpio; Mars is in Cancer.

The Sun is in Virgo from August 22-September 22. Our focus shifts to the puzzle pieces–the little details of our lives. It is now time to take care of practical concerns. Attending to the details of everyday life may not sound like loads of fun, but it can certainly free us from unnecessary stress that results from “collecting” odds and ends of unfinished business.

This is an ideal time to get organized, do detailed work, and improve communications on the job. We take more pride in our work, chores, and health efforts. We also want to be more organized and informed during the Sun-in-Virgo cycle.

We’re learning humility and the benefits of developing skills, some level of perfectionism, and the importance of attention to detail. It’s a time of down-to-earth practicality when we prefer to invest our time and energy in things with realistic potential. We’re not inclined to ambition or “going big.” Attracting prosperity involves honest, careful, and attentive work and dedication.

The Sun is in Libra from September 22-October 23. Libra rules relationships with others as mirrors of ourselves. Meeting others halfway, compromise, and negotiation come under the rule of Libra. The focus is now on balance–finding balance and harmony through relationships with others and through art. Libra is the sign of the peacemaker.

However, life is not always peaceful with Libra in its attempt to restore balance. Decision-making can be more challenging while the Sun is in Libra. Libra weighs both sides of any situation, and sometimes this process seems endless!

In Libra, the Sun is concerned about not rocking the boat and not rubbing others the wrong way. Tactfulness, style, tolerance, and sociability are some of the keywords for Libra. On the shadow side, Libra can be self-serving, indecisive, passive-aggressive, and superficial.

Mercury is in Libra from September 10-30. When Mercury is in Libra, we are diplomatic and friendly. During this cycle, we bring a more rational approach to one-to-one relationships. It’s a good time to think about ways to improve our negotiation skills.

Mercury in Libra can be vacillating energy as we attempt to see both sides of any given situation. Making quick decisions can be more challenging than usual, as we can sit “on the fence.” We may too easily accommodate others’ opinions to keep the peace. In our negotiations, we don’t want to assert ourselves so as to appear to be the “bad guy.” However, this is a reasonable period for considering others’ points of view. We are more inclined to arrive at fair conclusions.

Venus is in Scorpio from September 10-October 25, and later, from December 4-January 7, 2027 [this is longer than usual and in two steps due to an upcoming retrograde Venus cycle from October 3-November 13]. Deeply passionate relations are the focus with Venus in Scorpio. Superficial flirtations and contacts do not satisfy now, as we yearn for “body and soul” contact with someone special–contact that breaks the taboos, that is extreme and intense, and that is unforgettable. It’s a highly emotional position for Venus, and it’s passionate energy.

Our relationships are immensely important to us, and we may even feel that they consume us. In fact, we tend to want to be consumed by them! Our drive is toward intense closeness, but unquestioning faith in our partners is extremely hard for us now. Fears of being too vulnerable or of giving up our own power to others are strong. Scorpio is an “all or nothing” energy, and relationships tend to be somewhat of a rollercoaster ride as a result. Disdain for mediocrity and superficiality can compel us to create crises to feel alive and vital.

Similarly, during this Venus-in-Scorpio cycle, we seek or gravitate to absorbing, deeply engaging, dramatic pleasures, activities, projects, and art. Things that are profound, disturbing, mysterious, or unusual can be more appealing now.

This can be a good time for finances, especially when working with others’ talents or resources, whether as an agent, supporter, or partner.

Mars is in Cancer from August 11-September 27. We pursue our interests ardently, but we avoid a direct approach to going after we want while Mars transits Cancer. As well, our goals and plans are subject to mood swings and vacillations. We are defensive rather than overtly aggressive. Much of what we do depends on our current mood of the moment.

We’re also very intuitive and can be moved to take action to bring peace or comfort and safety to our lives during this period. We go to bat for our loved ones. In fact, we’re fiercely protective. It’s a powerful period for putting ego matters aside so that we can push our plans forward. Inner satisfaction and love are generally more important to us than outer achievements at this time. Personal and domestic goals are our priority during this phase.

Romance & Relationships

If a relationship becomes too settled or predictable, we may crave more intensity and catalytic experience. Jealousies, fears of betrayal, and power games are the shadow side of Venus in Scorpio.

We may easily become obsessed with a fear that our partners might be betraying us, or that they are not as consumed by and dedicated to the relationship as us. This can lead us to try to uncover the “truth”, reading too many negative possibilities in our partners’ actions and words.

This week: On Sunday, we can be uncertain how to integrate our needs for companionship with the desire to be free or independent.

Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:

Venus in Scorpio This is way beyond love, all the way to obsession – that’s the nature of the cycle that now takes hold in your life. We’re not talking just lukewarm WANT here; we’re talking red-hot GOT TO HAVE! Passion, jealousy, possession: these are the kinds of experiences that can flow from the intensity that courses through you at one level or another now – voracious.

Venus square Pluto September 15. Intense passions, but there’s a hidden agenda. Jealousy and possessiveness are high, in direct proportion to fear of losing partnership. Avoid starting a new relationship at this time, because it can be characterized by these energies.

Venus quincunx Neptune September 15. Idealism and disappointments in love. Avoid becoming blinded by what you want to see, rather than what really is. Doubts about love.

Venus quincunx Uranus September 20. Impulsive spending, peculiar attractions, fear of commitment, freedom vs. intimacy issues. We might question whether we need more excitement in our relationships, or whether we need freedom from them; yet we don’t feel confident enough to rock the boat.

Venus contra-parallel Mars September 29. Passions are stimulated and intense. Fine line between love and hate. Competitiveness. Questions are raised or ultimatums made.

Venus semi-sextile the Sun October 1. We may feel that our quest for pleasure, affection, love, or comfort is at odds with what we think we should be doing, which can lead to mild tension or feelings of guilt, and perhaps some indecision. Seeking to fulfill both of these needs without doing so at the expense of the other makes sense, but isn’t straightforward at this time.

Venus contra-parallel Uranus October 1. Questions of freedom, change, specialness, and experimentation are raised in our relationships.

Venus quincunx Uranus. Impulsive spending, peculiar attractions, fear of commitment, and freedom vs. intimacy issues may be themes now. We might question whether we need more excitement in our relationships (or leisure activities), or whether we need freedom from them; yet we don’t feel confident enough to rock the boat.

Mercury sextile Jupiter. Positive thinking, new insights, and cooperation are themes now. This influence favors short trips, writing, teaching, studying, submitting applications and forms, test taking, and making diagnoses and observations. This is a time when we more readily exercise good judgment, take a more philosophical approach to thinking, and are more open to learning.

Sun quincunx Chiron. Doubting ourselves and our effectiveness, as well as guilt for not facing important issues, can subtly undermine our confidence under this influence. Self-expression can be choppy and unnatural as a result.

Jupiter sesquiquadrate Neptune. We may be misled easily under this influence–by others, or by our own unrealistic or inflated expectations. An inability to focus on important and realistic details, some disorganization, and extravagance or exaggeration are indicated. Routine seems to be particularly unsatisfying now. This is a time when we easily take a detour from a practical path. It can also be a time when we are disillusioned by something (or someone). Spiritual inspiration is a potential.

Mercury sesquiquadrate Uranus. We can have flashes of insight, but tend to be scatterbrained. Our ideas and communications may not be well-received because they don’t seem to others to carry weight. Our minds are not peaceful or harmonious under this influence, and irritable tempers, sarcastic speech, and dogmatism are negative expressions of this energy. However, fresh and creative ideas may come to us now.

Sun opposition Neptune. It’s easy to get lost in fantasy at this time, as we feel somewhat directionless and less able to face everyday realities. Willpower is low. Not a good time for any financial undertaking or formal agreement.

Sun trine Pluto. We are able to get to the bottom of things now. We are more decisive than usual, and our abilities to concentrate and focus help us achieve what we set out to do. Endurance, the power to achieve, an opportunity to draw upon our past and to capitalize on resources, and strategy are all themes of this influence. This is a very positive aspect for starting a money-making endeavor (all things equal) or a new project. Leadership skills are in focus and strong. We are more able to connect with others in terms of shared goals and interests. The focus now is on eliminating negative or superficial elements in our lives.

Sun semi-square Jupiter. We may feel vague restlessness and discontent with life as it is. We want more, but perhaps too much. Overestimation, wastefulness, and exaggeration. Elevated moods, but unstable ones, as they may not be based on reality.

SEPTEMBER 20

With today’s Jupiter-Uranus quintile, we notice and appreciate the more unique elements of situations, people, and projects. This outer-planet transit brings these themes to the month. Today, however, Venus forms a quincunx with Uranus, and there can be impulsive spending, peculiar attractions, fear of commitment, and issues around freedom vs. intimacy. We might question whether we need more excitement in our relationships or freedom from them, yet we don’t feel confident enough to rock the boat. Taming rebelliousness makes sense now. As well, with today’s Mars transits, confrontations can be messy, as we tend to assert ourselves defensively or explosively. We should make extra effort to respect and validate others when expressing what we need and want.

SEPTEMBER 21

Jupiter forms a trine to Pallas today, and we can be especially helpful, ready to share words of wisdom. It’s a strong influence for big-picture planning and thinking. Mercury hooks into this with its opposition to Pallas and sextile to Jupiter. In some ways, we may be pushing the limits on a mental level. While we should watch for overconfident judgments and talking over one another, we’re gracious, alert, optimistic, and resourceful, seeking the positive side of situations and solutions to problems. We take a more philosophical approach to thinking and are open to learning. It’s a time of new insights and cooperation. Our minds open, and we seek a positive focal point. Reaching a mutually beneficial agreement or arrangement is possible now.

While the Moon’s opposition to Mars this morning can point to tension, distraction, and impatience if we’ve taken on too much, we’re generally in a good place to find wisdom in traditional methods. We’re bringing structure to our lives and projects.

When the Moon is in Capricorn

We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.

The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.

When the Moon is in Aquarius

Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.

The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.

When the Moon is in Pisces

 We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.

The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.

When the Moon is in Aries

We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.

People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.

The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
