A Full Moon occurs when the Sun in Aries forms an opposition to the Moon in Libra very early on March 25th. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. Certainly, it can be an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.

This phase of the Moon occurs at 5 degrees and 7 minutes of Libra opposite the Sun at 5 degrees and 7 minutes of Aries.

It’s the third eclipse in a set of six occurring along the Aries-Libra axis from April 20th, 2023, to March 29, 2025. The first one was a Total Solar Eclipse in late Aries. While we’ve been focusing on building our independence and working on assertiveness since April 2023, this March eclipse in Libra prompts us to consider healthy relating and how it affects the process.

This eclipse serves as a prompt, nudge, or push to make improvements in Aries- and Libra-ruled areas of life in our charts, and feelings of discontent can magnify. It’s a time to resolve matters, strike a balance, take a lesson, and move on, but take some time with this–eclipses can temporarily hide a part of our lives for us to focus on another. Ultimately, we should be striving for a balance.

Lunar Eclipse in Libra: March 25, 2024

This phase of the Moon occurs at 5 degrees and 7 minutes of Libra opposite the Sun at the same degree of Aries, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 0 to 10 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

This eclipse affects people with personal planets and points at 0 to 10 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

Lunar Eclipses are about relationships and polarities. With the Aries-Libra axis involved, this Lunar Eclipse presses us to look more closely at our needs, lacks, and wants concerning the balance between Aries-ruled and Libra-ruled areas of life.

The contrast between fiery, direct, confrontational Aries and logical, tactful, balance-oriented Libra comes full bloom. The energy of the Libra Moon is the awareness of the need for relationships and all that comes with maintaining them — compromising, negotiating, graciousness, and balancing. The Aries Sun, on the other hand, is self-assertive, leading, and personally courageous.

This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between meeting our personal needs and attending to the needs of a significant other, and between independence or autonomy and dependence or companionability.

The Libra Moon is diplomatic, equality-minded, and fair-minded. The Aries Sun, however, values authenticity over tact, and is energized by independent efforts. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict.

Neglecting either end of the Aries-Libra axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do.

This Full Moon is about emotional declarations. Something has been building inside of us, likely of a personal nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the coming months, we will discover what this declaration means for us. For now, it’s difficult to sit on our feelings. We need to express them.

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse illuminates the conflict between “me” and “you,” and between autonomy and sharing.

With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not particularly rational as yet.

We awaken to the need to enjoy and appreciate our partners or significant others in our lives and to connect with our desire for companionship.

Emotions, feelings, and revelations in the weeks following this eclipse are pivotal–they lead to resolutions.

This is a rewarding Full Moon eclipse, ripe with possibilities and learning experiences. However, it can take some time before we get the whole picture.

A crisis of sorts (which can be a crisis of consciousness) or sudden awareness of a lack in our lives provides us with a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs within the context of the house polarity where the eclipse occurs in our natal charts.

Relationships may be challenged, broken, or strengthened at this time. Our discovery is emotionally charged and dramatic–everything feels big and larger than life at this time. Epiphanies are likely as we become acutely aware of our lack. This understanding can propel us into affirmative action, although there can be some initial level of chaos.

This is a time to work on clearing up past patterns that have been holding us back from relationship fulfillment.

Revelations coming in can be blown up and dramatic but not discountable since they come from real feelings. The FIRST QUARTER MOON occurs on Sunday, March 17th, 2024, at 12:10 AM EDT.

Very early on Sunday, the First Quarter Moon occurs, when the Sun in Pisces forms a square with the Moon in Gemini.

There is a crisis theme surrounding any quarter Moon phase, as we feel compelled to take action. Shortly after, we are made aware of how our actions affect those close to us, perhaps through trial and error. Whatever project or initiative we began around the New Moon is now off the ground, and it may face its first obstacles.

This can be a time of stress, clashing, and discord, but also of high energy, motivation, and growth.

This week: The Sun is in Aries; Mercury is in Aries; Venus is in Pisces; Mars is in Pisces.

The Sun is in Aries from March 19-April 19. In Aries, the Sun is enthusiastic and spontaneous. We are motivated by the desire to conquer. We are more impulsive and have the urge to initiate, innovate, and come first.

Aries is a sign that bounces back quickly–there is little in the way of shame with Aries. It is brave and pioneering, and somewhat innocent. We are direct and rather uncomplicated in our needs, but we can also be short-sighted and lack the desire to plan ahead.

Mercury is in Aries from March 9-May 15. When Mercury is in Aries, we are less concerned with objective viewpoints and explanations, and more concerned with reaching a decision…quickly! Our thoughts and ideas are pioneering, and we tend to speak more spontaneously and directly with the planet of communication in bold and assertive Aries.

There can be quick, possibly impatient or hurried, decisions during this cycle, and our responses are similar: quick and perhaps defensive or combative. We value independent thought, and we can be mentally competitive. executive decisions. We prefer to learn through personal experience, not instruction.

Venus is in Pisces from March 11-April 4. Venus in Pisces is tender and affectionate, although hard to reach, as there is a longing for something that is difficult to define and hard to satisfy. Borders and boundaries blur under Venus in Pisces. The shadow side of this position is allowing ourselves to be deceived because we want to believe, as well as evasiveness. We should watch for falling in love with an idealized image of something or someone. It’s also important to watch for avoidant or indirect behavior.

Venus is exalted in Pisces and does well in the sign. It’s devoted, compassionate, exceptionally giving, and capable of sacrifice. We might refer heavily on our intuition with our finances and love life during this cycle. We gravitate to–and appreciate–unusual, tossed aside, poetic, artistic objects, situations, and people. We seek activities that move, inspire, or touch us.

Money may slip through our fingers, or we could ignore or overlook some of the practical elements of our lives now. However, finances improve if we connect with our otherworldly talents, imagination, desire to heal and serve, or sense of mission.

This transit is not particularly strong for resolve or determination, but it’s good for adaptability and increased understanding or acceptance.

Mars is in Pisces from March 22-April 30. During this cycle, we are less interested in pursuing traditional goals and more motivated to pursue spiritual or emotional drives. We dislike confrontation while Mars is in Pisces. Our output is variable rather than straightforward, and our energy is similarly up and down.

We may prioritize others’ needs over our own, and our more idealistic side may emerge. During this cycle, pursuing what we want becomes less straightforward and more complicated!

However, compassion drives us while Mars is in Pisces. We can be spiritual warriors, or we achieve our goals intuitively and with faith. We can be chameleons, adapting to the current situation quite expertly, although we can also be escape artists, preferring to avoid rather than confront. Our behavior may be passive-aggressive, or we fight for ourselves through confusing or placating our opponent.

Jupiter is in Taurus.

Saturn transits Pisces from March 7th, 2023 until May 24th, 2025, and Sep 1st, 2025, to Feb 13th, 2026. Read about Saturn’s transit of Pisces.

Uranus is in Taurus.

Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. Above all, we’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.

There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. In general, we’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money, are likely. Our income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.

Pluto transitions from Capricorn to Aquarius in 2023 and 2024. Read about Pluto’s transit of Aquarius. Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn, and was in Capricorn until January 20th, 2024. Pluto is in Aquarius from January 20th to September 1st, when it will retreat into Capricorn once again. Note: Pluto is slow-moving through the zodiac signs!

Romance & Relationships

Venus is in Pisces from March 11-April 4. Like Aquarius, Pisces love is universal. However, Pisces draws no bounds in love. With Venus in Pisces, we have compassion (and perhaps attraction) for those who are left out, overlooked, or victimized. We are self-sacrificing, and we have a hard time setting up borders. The walls go down, we have a hard time saying no (especially if our compassion is engaged), but we are also prone to avoiding all that makes us feel uncomfortable.

Wishful thinking is one expression of Venus in Pisces. We can too easily believe what we want to believe. People can be hard to pin down, and love is hard to define under this influence. Pisces never sees the world in black-and-white terms. Rather, Pisces sees all the colors of the rainbow. With the goddess of love in Pisces, our love is all-embracing, we are able to forgive and understand, we are seducible and seductive, and we show compassion to our partners.

Venus in Pisces is tender and affectionate, although hard to reach nevertheless, as there is a longing for something that is hard to define and hard to satisfy. This week: On Sunday, we’re ready to give one another the benefit of the doubt, and we’re opening up our hearts. The theme is generous and hopeful in our relationships. However, by late Sunday and into Monday, suspicion or second-guessing can enter the picture.

On Wednesday and Thursday, we’re especially open to making changes or venturing into new territory with our feelings, tastes, and pleasures. It’s not an ideal time for making commitments, but it’s a good time to experiment and explore.

On Friday and Saturday, we are more strongly aware of our relationships (or lack) and the pride they give us. Dissatisfaction we might experience now is likely due to inner discontent and yearning for more appreciation from our partners. Going out of our way to make others feel wanted, appreciated, and recognized is appropriate now.

Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:

Venus in Pisces A martyr complex, a love for the underdog, a search for your soul mate: such are the experiences associated with the new cycle you’re now just beginning. A yen for soul-stirring romance, a weakness for the weak, and a tendency to idealize people and relationships … very aesthetic, very other-worldly.

Venus conjunct Saturn March 20-21. Affections stabilize and mature. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. An air of formality is brought to personal and social relationships. A new sense of realism in existing partnerships comes now. A sense of duty may lead us to sacrifice a personal pleasure for a cause or for a loved one; thus we may have to abstain from personal gratification for the time being. Problems in personal relationships that have been swept under the carpet may surface now, and we are ready to face them. Dissatisfaction with loved ones becomes more glaring. Renewed ties to old friends or lovers are possible, or a new sense of responsibility in existing relationships.

Venus contra-parallel Chiron March 21. Others, and especially partners and love interests, have something to teach us. This is a time for identifying vulnerable areas.

Venus sextile Jupiter March 23-24. This aspect generates a happy, friendly, and optimistic attitude. People are a little more outgoing and sociable. Favors travel, education, and culture. Romantic opportunities. Harmony and good will.

Venus semi-square Pluto March 24-25. Tendencies to look for something wrong in a relationship. Jealousy raises its ugly head.

Venus sextile Uranus March 27-28. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit.

Venus contra-parallel the Sun March 29-30. We are more strongly aware of our relationships (or lack) and the pride they give us. Dissatisfaction experienced now is likely due to inner discontent and yearning for more appreciation from our partners. Going out of our way to make others feel wanted, appreciated, and recognized is appropriate now.

Venus semi-sextile Mercury April 2. It may be all too easy to say things we don’t mean/feel.

The Moon & Timing

The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.

The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).

Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.

The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.

Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives

It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).

The Moon is waxing this week only until the Full Moon on the 25th, which is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). After the Full Moon on the 25th, the Moon is waning, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, also with exceptions.

According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week from Thursday, March 28th, from approximately 10:50 PM EDT, to Friday, March 29th, at approximately 11:35 AM EDT, while the Moon is in Scorpio. While there are no retrogrades during this window, it happens not long after a Lunar Eclipse, and our judgment can be skewed.

Venus sextile Jupiter. Cooperation, consideration for others, cheerfulness, positive attitude towards relationships, romantic opportunities, harmony. Favors financial endeavors. Optimistic spiritual energy is brought to relationships. We tend to connect to a higher purpose regarding our personal relationships and our values, attaching meaning to them. We may enjoy a feeling of well-being now. Ease is experienced in social situations. We are freer with our affections (and our money). This is also a favorable transit for entertaining and socializing.

Venus semi-square Pluto. This influence can point to some underlying tensions in social interactions (looking for an ulterior motive or an agenda, suspiciousness) and relationships (possible jealousies). Passions run high and hot, but there’s a hidden agenda. Feelings of jealousy and possessiveness run so close to the surface that others can almost feel the heat, and they are in direct proportion to our fear of losing something or someone dear to us. Sometimes, this transit correlates with unreciprocated feelings in love or romantic disappointment. Often, financial matters come to the fore.

Sun semi-square Uranus. During this transit, we feel the need for action, but if we don’t know where we’re headed, we might take the wrong turn. Unexpected changes in plans or events can test our patience, and we might feel a bit out of control. However, they could stimulate us to try new approaches and they certainly act to cut boredom. This transit could offer us the drive to do something new, but avoid making hasty major decisions for the time being.

Mars semi-square Chiron. We can be easily offended under the influence of this transit. Touchiness. Difficulties expressing our anger or desires in a direct manner.

Venus sextile Uranus. This is a favorable influence for social meetings and events, and for situations that call for treating others with equality and respect. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements as well as financial undertakings. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit. A good time for financial undertakings involving electronics, technology, the internet, metaphysics, and the arts, as well as group activities. A taste for the offbeat is in order.

This influence stirs a mood or atmosphere conducive to tolerance, consideration for others, warmth, and openness. We are more forthcoming, optimistic, and generous than usual. It encourages us to loosen up as we tap into our spirit for enjoyment. It’s a soft, pleasant influence that promotes cooperation, acceptance, inclusiveness, and optimism, particularly in our relationships. We are freer and more generous with our affection, time, and money. This is one of the more favored transits for entertaining and socializing. We bring optimistic spiritual energy to our lives and seek a higher purpose or meaning through our connections and values. Romantic opportunities can emerge, or there can be lucky finds, pleasing purchases, and a hopeful financial outlook or prospects. As the day advances and we approach a Lunar Eclipse, emotions heighten, also surrounding relationships.

A Lunar Eclipse occurs this morning, with the Sun in Aries opposing the Moon in Libra at 3:00 AM EDT. This is an emotional time of romance, fertilization, and relationships. We may experience a crisis of lack and recognize a great need or want. It’s a time when matters come to light – things that have been brewing under the surface. This eclipse urges us to strike a balance between meeting our personal needs and attending to the needs of a significant other and between independence or autonomy and dependence or companionability. Eclipses tie into changing circumstances. However, we usually precipitate or attract changes because our “inner guides” know that we need them. This eclipse is one of several eclipses in a set occurring along the Aries-Libra axis from March 2023 to March 2025.

With a Venus-Pluto semi-square this morning, we can be managing complex feelings. It can be tempting to manipulate or control others and situations, leading to unnecessary troubles. Jealousy or possessiveness can emerge. The Sun’s semi-square with Uranus midday can stir some restlessness that may seem too generalized to put to productive use. We may want to shake things up, make changes, and break the routine. However, we could also be tense if there are unexpected schedule changes or if we’re not in touch with what we need to change. It’s better to keep things simple.

MARCH 26

With a Libra Moon today, we seek to harmonize and balance our lives. Our need to connect, compromise, and negotiate is in full bloom. This transit is conciliatory and gracious, helping us see the other side of a story. Still, the Moon opposes Mercury this evening, and there can be a disconnect between our emotions and intellect. Minor disagreements, especially about sensitivity to feelings, are more likely now. There can be a battle between our need to consult with others and our desire to go our own way.

MARCH 27

The Moon continues its transit of gracious, accommodating Libra until 5:04 AM EDT, after which the Moon is in Scorpio. We’re perceptive and emotional. With the Moon’s trine to Mars, it can be an excellent time for creative action or physical art. We’re intuitive in our choices today. We may be craving a little extra drama or emotional engagement. However, with a Mars-Chiron semi-square also in play, standing up for what we believe in may not be comfortable temporarily. There can be difficulties expressing our anger or desires in a direct manner, which can lead to some challenges but possibly also some interesting detours.

The Moon is void today until it enters Scorpio at 5:04 AM EDT.

MARCH 28

Today’s Venus-Uranus sextile brings us out of our shells and encourages our bolder, more innovative natures, socially speaking. We are most interested in all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary concerning romantic involvements, entertainment or pleasures, and financial undertakings. We may be experimenting, improvising, and trying new ways of relating to others and expressing ourselves. We could discover alternative ways to make (or spend) money. Although somewhat detached, we’re freer with our feelings and find beauty in the unfamiliar or uncommon. Mars and Jupiter form a creative quintile, stirring our motivation to produce, act, grow, and improve. We’re excited to make our own luck. We are highly resourceful and can find much to look forward to under this influence. This is a fertile combination, especially with Mars in Water sign Pisces and Jupiter in earthy Taurus.

MARCH 29

The Moon continues its transit of Scorpio until 3:53 PM EDT, bringing passionate yet strategic energy to our day. This transit is wise and discerning, stirring our interest in discovering deeper truths and motives. The Sagittarius Moon from 3:53 PM forward is enthusiastic, confident, and forward-looking.
