Last Quarter Moon
The Last Quarter MOON occurs on Monday, June 8th, 2026, at 6:00 AM EDT.
On Monday morning, the Last Quarter Moon is exact as the Sun in Gemini forms a square with the Moon in Pisces.
The Last Quarter Moon phase points to a crisis of consciousness of sorts. After basking in the awareness symbolized by the full light of the Moon at the time of last week’s Full Moon, we disperse our knowledge and come to a point when we need to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon, when something new is born once again.
This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to begin finishing up the details of what was conceived at the last New Moon. We might consider our recent revelations and process what they mean to us.
The Last Quarter Moon Chart:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 17 degrees and 38 minutes of Pisces square the Sun at the same degree of Gemini, affecting people with personal planets and points at approximately 16 to 20 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.
NEXT WEEK: The next Moon phase will occur on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, at 10:54 PM EDT, when the New Moon will happen.

This week: The Sun is in Gemini; Mercury is in Cancer; Venus is in Cancer until the 13th, when it enters Leo; Mars is in Taurus.
The Sun is in Gemini from May 20-June 21. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. Due to this curiosity and awareness of all our options, we tend to scatter our energies. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.
Gemini represents duality and mediation. Gemini’s energy is intelligent, optimistic, observant, and adaptable. It’s skeptical, ready to consider alternate ways of thinking. We’re prepared to trade, share, exchange, pass on news, teach, guide, and learn.
We gather information during the Sun-in-Gemini cycle, and we benefit from this transit’s objectivity. We’re quick-witted, cheerful, engaging, and we easily adapt, observe, and listen–it’s a clever and crafty influence.
On the downside, we can be gossipy, overly intellectual, or too rational when a softer touch would be more appropriate. As we relay and process information, we could be living too much in our heads, disconnected from what’s in our hearts.
Mercury is in Cancer from June 1-August 9 [a longer than usual transit due to Mercury’s retrograde from June 29th to July 23rd, entirely in the sign of Cancer]. When Mercury is in Cancer, we move from the desire for quantity with information to the need for quality. We think, speak, and take in information on a deeper, more instinctive level. We have less interest in what is universal and more interest in what affects us personally and the people close to us. Our thoughts are colored by our emotions, making it more challenging to be objective.
We have outstanding and detailed memories during this cycle. We’re more likely to absorb information about the emotional background or atmosphere/setting around us, picking up on moods and tones in addition to facts.
While we may not have great confidence in our ability to generate new or original ideas, we have a well-developed sense of humor and radiate warmth in our communications. We take great interest in (and notice of) personal issues and interactions during this period. We don’t care much for intellectual stands if they’re devoid of a personal or heartful element, and we need intimate settings to express ourselves fully.
Venus is in Cancer from May 18-June 13. In Cancer, Venus is nurturing, protective and self-protective, cautious, and fertile. We experience many emotional ups and downs in love under this influence due to our increased sensitivity and impressionability. We are tender, romantic, and attached. We could be clingy or sulky during this period.
Cancer love is dedicated, warm, and devoted. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern. We are affectionate and cuddly, and are at our best when we feel safe and secure. We also want to make our loved ones feel safe and comfortable. It’s a good cycle for collecting and money related to real estate, accommodation, food, coins, silver, or antiques. We enjoy homey, familiar pastimes and art and simple pleasures.
Cautious with our feelings, we are not always confident about boldly trying or sharing new things during this cycle. However, we do whatever we can to make our loved ones feel special. Our memories are long, and we can be very sentimental.
Venus is in Leo from June 13-July 9. Love is magnificent and grand while Venus is in Leo. We take pride in love, and we are generous with our money as well. This is a warmhearted, teasing, expressive, proud, and extravagant placement for Venus. Love is a bit of a game–a game that is perpetual, as Venus in Leo is forever stuck in the romance stage of a relationship. We feed on attention, acknowledgement, validation, and adoration.
Venus in Leo loves to be adored, pampered, and admired. Pride and passion are hallmarks of this cycle. We have a strong ego investment in our love lives during this period. The negative expression of this placement is overstating our feelings simply for the effect, as well as extravagance.
The Venus-in-Leo cycle can be a strong or profitable time for contests, lotteries, parties, recreation, drama, adornment, jewelry, costumes, art dealing, and all things golden. Generosity and warmth contribute to our ability to draw in the right resources. We can have a compelling desire to stand out, be remarkable, and feel special during this period.
Mars is in Taurus from May 18-June 28. During this cycle, we are determined, stubborn, and persistent. Mars in Taurus can be passive until provoked and is at its strongest when digging in its heels, outlasting, or defending something! In stark contrast to the impulsive Mars in Aries cycle, we tend to pursue our goals by plodding along patiently. We seek longevity and long-term satisfaction.
While Mars is in Taurus, we’re slow to change course or get started but persevering. Preferring methodical work over creative methods, we seek predictability and stability. We can be stubborn and resistant to change, and we’ll work the hardest for material security.
It’s not a time when we readily take risks. Instead, we seek concrete, long-lasting results. Our stamina is great, and our cravings and physical needs/desires are prominent, driving us towards our goals.

Jupiter is in Cancer.
Jupiter began its transit of Cancer on June 9th, 2025, and will continue its visit to the sign until June 30th, 2026. Read more about Jupiter’s transit of Cancer.

Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Cancer from May 18-June 13. We treat lovers with sympathy and tenderness, providing the emotional nurturing that they need. We tend to “play it safe” when it comes to relationships. Love and devotion are most important to us, and provide us with a sense of inner security. We seek a deep love in which we can merge souls and personalities with our lover. We are quite devoted to our partners, and we seek such devotion in return.
However, we could also become possessive, manipulative, and stifling. Familiarity is more important to us now. Our fear of rejection is overdeveloped, and we offer our hearts cautiously as a result. We pay more attention to our lovers’ feelings than their words. We feel threatened if a lover acts in an impersonal, overly independent, or detached manner. Safe and solid relationships are more appealing. Romantic and emotional hurts are very hard to forget.
In Cancer, Venus is nurturing, protective and self-protective, cautious, and fertile. We experience many emotional ups and downs in love under this influence due to increased sensitivity and impressionability. We are tender, romantic, and attached. Cancer love is dedicated, warm, and devoted. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern. We are affectionate and cuddly, and are at our best when we feel safe and secure.
Venus is in Leo from June 13-July 9. Love is magnificent and grand!
This week: Tuesday holds powerful energy for love and relationships. Romantic intensity and a feeling of fatedness can be part of the day. However, it’s also a time when we’re proud of our relationships and relating ability. We’re generous with one another and ready to give each other the benefit of the doubt. We have large appetites for love and pleasure. There may be some overstating or overindulgence now, however.
On Friday, there can be some reluctance to commit or to show our affections if we let our insecurities rule our behavior.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Cancer Mothering (or being mothered), sympathy, a yearning to put down roots, and a fondness for things that have stood the test of time – these are some of the hallmarks of the phase that now begins in your life. Romantic and social experiences, as well as artistic tastes, will show evidence of these factors.
Venus in Leo Romance becomes an end in itself as a new cycle begins for you. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired – needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth.
Venus semi-square Uranus June 2. Uncertainty about the desire to be close to someone. Freedom versus closeness. A desire to experiment in the romance department may be fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying or frustrating.
Venus parallel the Sun June 9. A strong desire for harmony and comfort fill us now. We may be moved to express our affections.
Venus contra-parallel Pluto June 9. Romantic intensity, a feeling of fatedness, possessiveness, fear of betrayal, and insecurity in relationships. Questions of trust can emerge in relationships. Looking for a commitment.
Venus conjunct Jupiter June 9. We have large appetites for love and pleasure, and generosity of spirit as well. An excellent time (all things considered) to begin a new relationship, or renew an old/existing one.
Venus square Chiron June 12-13. Not a commitment-friendly transit. We are somewhat fearful of investing ourselves emotionally in a relationship.
Venus sextile Uranus June 15. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit.
Venus trine Neptune June 16. We perceive romantic situations as if they were “designed” just for us. A magical, romantic time. The pleasures of life are experienced fully. Romance is highly favored. We see the very best in people now, and this eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships.
Venus parallel Jupiter June 16-17. We are charitable with others and have a stronger desire than usual to find meaning in our relationships. There may be some overstating or overindulgence now, however.
Venus opposition Pluto June 17. This is a period of intense feelings, as well as possible emotional distress and tension caused by romantic troubles or social manipulation. An experience of being used or abused physically, emotionally or sexually may cause us suffering or disappointment. Sexually driven emotions are likely now. Fears of betrayal may get the best of us.
Venus parallel Uranus June 18. There can be spontaneous meetings and forward movement in our relationships. We have good instincts for future trends. We embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit. Peculiar, sudden, or avant garde attractions. This is an exciting but unstable energy. Friendship in love relationships becomes more important.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.
The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.
The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, June 8th, from 8:39 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Aries the next day, Tuesday, June 9th, at 4:34 AM EDT.
VOC on Thursday, June 11th, from 4:23 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Venus), until the Moon enters Taurus at 8:29 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Saturday, June 13th, from 3:31 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Gemini at 9:06 AM EDT.
June 2026
Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).
The Moon is waning, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, although with some exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week on June 8th, from approximately 7:05 AM to 8:35 PM EDT, while the Moon is in Pisces. Another window occurs from Friday, June 12th, at approximately 3:40 PM EDT, until Saturday, June 13th, at approximately 3:30 AM EDT, while the Moon is in Taurus (it’s better after the Venus-Chiron square perfection).

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
![]()
![]()
Venus conjunct Jupiter. A potentially magical transit when we are especially generous and giving, optimistic, and kind towards others. We might also be quite indulgent under this influence. We might be tempted to overspend or overstate our feelings now. We are sociable, fun-loving, and desirous of sharing our happiness with others. We have large appetites for love and pleasure, and generosity of spirit as well. This can be an excellent influence for beginning a new relationship or financial undertaking, or for renewing and refreshing existing ties with others.
![]()
![]()
Mercury square Saturn. Getting from point A to point B can be a challenge during this transit due to obstacles. Communications may be blocked or delayed, and negative thinking could dominate at this time. Projects we thought were complete may need revision, and others could appear overly critical, insensitive, or sarcastic. It’s difficult to trust our instincts, and we second-guess things automatically under this influence. Avoid signing on the dotted line at this time.
![]()
![]()
Sun sesquiquadrate Pluto. A tendency to want to control our lives through some form of manipulation is strong during this influence. Meeting with obstacles in our paths, however, can force us into the position of using all of our resources to fight back, and we can discover resources we never knew we had in the process.
![]()
![]()
Venus square Chiron. We can experience blocks to intimacy, learning from one another, and commitment. Insecurities on a social level can magnify. We have a hard time judging our needs and discerning what’s valuable.
![]()
![]()
Mars semi-square Neptune. Disorganization, lack of drive, lack of forethought, impracticality, and carelessness. Energy and time are too easily wasted. Passive-aggressiveness. It’s hard to know what we want and where we’re headed under this influence.

JUNE 7
The Moon spends the day in Pisces, and we seek emotional refreshment or an escape from the ordinary. The Pisces Moon is wise when at its best and noncommittal or avoidant when challenged. Getting in touch with our imaginative, compassionate side is rewarding. The Moon’s trine to Mercury this afternoon inclines us to make something of our feelings through conversation or musings. While we tend to need some space today, we’re also ready to learn, share, and exchange ideas. We’re approaching a Neptune-Ceres sextile, exact very early tomorrow, and we are more naturally helpful and supportive on emotional or spiritual levels. We’re generous with our compassion but may also need moments to escape and be by ourselves.
JUNE 8
The Moon continues its transit of Pisces today, making it a good transit for decompressing, winding down, and tapping into our intuition. The Last Quarter Moon occurs at 6:00 AM EDT, when the Sun in Gemini forms a square to the Pisces Moon. The Last Quarter Moon phase points to a possible crisis of consciousness. We’ve processed recent epiphanies, and we are starting to see what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon when something new is born again. It’s not an ideal time to start a significant project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes descent into unconsciousness. Instead, it’s time to handle details or tie up loose ends.
The Moon is void from 8:39 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Aries the next day, Tuesday, June 9th, at 4:34 AM EDT.
JUNE 9
Venus aligns with Jupiter in the sign of Cancer today, encouraging much hopefulness, generosity, and friendliness. We’re radiating kindness and warmth and attracting happy situations. We’re not letting responsibilities or limitations stop us from enjoying ourselves. It’s a time of increased trust, tolerance, and generosity, especially with our feelings, as well as an inclination to indulge.
With this transit in play, we more readily give one another the benefit of the doubt. We’re cooperative and forgiving. This aspect can also elevate our expectations! We can be indulgent or tempted to overspend or overstate our feelings. Our love of learning, exploring, and sharing is in the spotlight, and our appetite for love and pleasure is robust. We’re opening our hearts and perhaps wallets as well.
The Moon leaves Pisces and enters Aries at 4:34 AM EDT, and the Aries Moon is assertive and action-oriented. With the Moon’s alignment with Neptune, we may feel a need to refuel with new inspiration, helped along by the Moon’s sextile to Uranus. However, as the day advances, we approach a Mercury-Saturn square, which will perfect very early tomorrow, and we’re serious and focusing on what’s accurate and precise. Still, there can be misunderstandings, information lags, criticism, or a lack of direction/instruction to manage. We could be preoccupied with weighty issues. There can be difficulties getting our message across or physically getting somewhere.
Temporarily, it’s challenging to trust our instincts. It may be best to focus on the motivation to make changes rather than on flaws and limitations. Editing and improving make sense now, as we may encounter resistance if we push ahead. We might deal with disapproval or criticism, and we should draw on patience. Ideally, we recognize some of our limits and adjust our speed accordingly–it’s a better time for maintenance than for moving forward.
The Moon is void until it enters Aries today at 4:34 AM EDT.
JUNE 10
The Moon spends all day in the sign of Aries, an assertive and action-oriented influence. While it’s an open and forward-looking transit, the Sun’s sesquiquadrate with Pluto tonight can stir or intensify fears and feelings of powerlessness or being overlooked. Buried emotions and motives may surface now. A tendency to control our lives through some form of manipulation can arise with this aspect in play. Still, with today’s Pluto-Ceres harmony, there may be a breakthrough in a love relationship or a deeper understanding or connection with someone we care about. Our attachments are pronounced now, and we may seek out deeper, richer contact. There could be a stronger sense that we must let something go to move forward.
JUNE 11
The Moon continues its transit of Aries until 8:29 AM EDT. It aligns with Chiron, and we recognize our need for self-direction. We can be excited about our personal plans. At the same time, we might be motivated to handle unresolved emotional matters. The Moon in Taurus from 8:29 AM forward is harmony-oriented, comfortable, and stubborn. Stability and permanence satisfy a deep emotional need. While there can be a stabilizing of our feelings, the Moon’s square to Pluto can find us digging in our heels. As well, with a Uranus-Node square, we tend to attract life lessons that open our minds to change, progress, and innovation. This process can feel disruptive in the moment.
The Moon is void from 4:23 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Venus), until the Moon enters Taurus at 8:29 AM EDT.
JUNE 12
JUNE 13
The Moon is void today from 3:31 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Gemini at 9:06 AM EDT.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Pisces
![]()
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.

Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.

We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence.
While the Moon is in Taurus, people can be emotionally constant but inflexible. It's a time of stronger focus on personal needs and comfort levels, and a period of more common sense and attention to practical matters.

THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Gemini The cycle which begins for you now will be marked by a more intense focus on mental and communicative activity than you may ever have experienced before. It’s a time of more involvement with other people, a time for gathering information, and a time when you’re apt to be more on the go than ever. There is likely to be an emphasis on reading, writing, studying, and all forms of exchanging information with others in the years ahead – and it will all serve as a path for self-discovery and personal development.
Mercury in Cancer Gut-level is the way you think, speak, and perceive in the cycle you have just begun. You aren’t interested in the superficial; instead, you want to get right to the root of things. You don’t care about the universal, only about how things impact you and yours. Intellect and emotion mix to the point of inseparability.
Mars in Taurus Making the most of what you’ve got, striving for security and stability: that’s the impulse that stirs in you as a new cycle begins in your life. New frontiers? That’s kid’s stuff for you now! What you want is to build something that will last: a pyramid, a Great Wall – you know, that sort of thing. Steady, patient, solid: that’s your style now.
Jupiter in Cancer Taking care of yourself and all that’s yours becomes a high priority in your life now. Security, setting down roots, establishing your ties with the past: these things are among the articles of faith that guide you. This is often a sign of growth in all things connected with family and property (such as real estate).
Saturn in Aries Self-discipline and a sense of self-worth become important issues in your life as a new phase begins for you. A fear of asserting yourself can hold you back – as can coming on too strong. The trick is learning to make the most of your personal talents and abilities, working within your limitations instead of feeling hemmed in by them.
Uranus in Gemini New ideas, new input, and new ways of exchanging these things with others – all these and more become increasingly important factor in your life now, as you enter into a new phase. This is a period of enhanced mental activity, a nonstop stream of consciousness, of trying out new concepts and perspectives.
Neptune in Aries The frontier spirit is alive and well as a new cycle dawns in your life. Independence and originality take on a kind of primal importance for you; you tend to put these qualities on a pedestal, above all else.
