The NEW MOON occurs on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, at 8:38 AM EDT.
On Thursday morning, a New Moon occurs in the Mutable Air sign of Gemini. The New Moon is a time of rebirth–a time when we are given a chance to start fresh.
The New Moon in Gemini cycle presents opportunities to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Twins. It’s time to improve our communication skills by listening to others and enjoying their points of view, rather than doggedly seeking to find that one elusive “answer.”
This is a good cycle in which to re-evaluate our communication and social skills by questioning just how much we actually take in information and communicate in a friendly, non-threatening manner. How we get around (transit) and connect with others can be in great focus.
We might carve out more time to socialize and enjoy others–whether they are neighbors, friends, family, or acquaintances–just for the simple pleasure of doing so. It’s a good time to find new avenues or channels to express ourselves and learn by awakening our curiosity and refining our writing, speaking, teaching, and listening skills. We might commit to adding some mental variety to our lives and opening our minds to gathering more information and facts from our environment.
Although Gemini is sometimes associated with superficial connections and communications, dig a little deeper and you will see that there is much to learn from the light, two-way, and comfortable conversations that characterize the sign.
With this potent Gemini energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives.
This lunation aligns with Venus and forms a square to Saturn, and some blocks, obstacles, or reality checks are likely before we embark on a new path. The desire for more harmony, love, pleasure, or better relationships can be very real now, motivating new beginnings.
The chart:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 16 degrees and 18 minutes of Gemini, affecting people with personal planets and points at 12 to 20 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.
A chart with additional points is below. Use the first chart to visualize the fundamental, most important energies of this Gemini New Moon, and consult the second wheel below for further details.

This week: The Sun is in Gemini; Mercury is in Taurus until the 3rd, when Mercury enters Gemini; Venus is in Gemini; Mars is in Aries.
The Sun is in Gemini from May 20-June 20. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. Due to this curiosity and awareness of all our options, we tend to scatter our energies. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.
Gemini represents duality and mediation. Gemini’s energy is intelligent, optimistic, observant, and adaptable. It’s skeptical, ready to consider alternate ways of thinking. We’re prepared to trade, share, exchange, pass on news, teach, guide, and learn.
We gather information during the Sun-in-Gemini cycle, and we benefit from this transit’s objectivity. We’re quick-witted, cheerful, engaging, and we easily adapt, observe, and listen–it’s a clever and crafty influence.
On the downside, we can be gossipy, overly intellectual, or too rational when a softer touch would be more appropriate. As we relay and process information, we could be living too much in our heads, disconnected from what’s in our hearts.
Mercury is in Taurus from May 15-June 3. When Mercury is in Taurus, our thinking is down to earth, solid, and grounded. Common sense reigns over more fanciful thinking. We communicate more deliberately under this influence, and our minds are oriented to the world of the five senses. We prefer the tried and true rather than new ways of thinking.
Attention to one thing at a time can simplify our lives, but we may be in danger of narrow, overly conservative, or rigid thinking. It’s a time of practical intelligence and comfortably-paced decisions and thought processes. We’re capable of (and content with) rote, routine, deliberate, or monotonous work and methods.
Mercury is in Gemini from June 3-17. When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable. Mercury rules Gemini and feels right at home in the sign. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining a superficial knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic.
When it comes to making a point or debating, we are especially astute while Mercury is in Gemini. We are attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations, and we’re easily distracted. It’s a time when we’re more interested in trivia, information tidbits, and detached observations. There can be frequent changes of mind and subject. We’re flexible and quick to grasp topics.
Venus is in Gemini from May 23-June 17. With Venus in Gemini, we have a finger in every pie. Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels. “Variety is the spice of life” is the motto now. We are friendly, communicative, charming, and interested.
While it’s a time when we can be animated and fun, we may also keep our distance on an emotional level. Attractions often begin with words, as we tend to bond more readily on a mental level while Venus is in Gemini. We’re most attracted to mentally interesting people. Sometimes, our curiosity leads us into relationships that we might not form otherwise. The shadow side of Gemini is fickleness or disinterest in profundity.
Venus in Gemini is flirtatious, captivating, and adaptable. We ask questions and want to keep things light and lively. During this transit, we do best when we’re mentally engaged and our desire for variety is addressed. Social stimulation is appealing. Good fortune with transportation and communication can figure strongly.
Mars is in Aries from April 30-June 9. Mars feels at home in Aries, one of the signs that it rules, and therefore its power is boosted. Our energy is spontaneous, forward-looking, and even courageous under this influence. Our competitive spirit is well-developed, and our goal is to win! We are active, single-minded, and confident.
Our actions are direct–we instinctively find the fastest way to get from point A to point B. The shadow side of Mars in Aries is a tendency to be impatient, arrogant, impulsive, short-lived, unreflective, and self-centered.
We pursue our goals straightforwardly, confidently, unabashedly, and directly with Mars in Aries. The same goes for expressing anger. We want to be first, come first, and do things on our own–our independence, enterprise, and initiative are well-developed.
This transit is better for endeavors that require courage and strong but not necessarily sustained passion and energy. We don’t want to look back or overthink–we only concern ourselves with what we can accomplish right now. Not inclined to beat around the bush, we confidently pursue our desires.
Jupiter is in Gemini.
Jupiter began its transit of Gemini on May 24th, 2024, and continues its transit of the sign until June 9th, 2025. Read more about Jupiter’s transit of Gemini.
Saturn transits Pisces from March 7th, 2023 until May 24th, 2025, and Sep 1st, 2025, to Feb 13th, 2026. Read about Saturn’s transit of Pisces.
Uranus is in Taurus.
Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. Above all, we’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.
There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. In general, we’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money, are likely. Our income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Pluto transitions from Capricorn to Aquarius in 2023 and 2024. Read about Pluto’s transit of Aquarius. Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn, and was in Capricorn until January 20th, 2024. Pluto is in Aquarius from January 20th to September 1st, when it will retreat into Capricorn once again. Note: Pluto is slow-moving through the zodiac signs!
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Gemini from May 23-June 17. In Gemini, Venus is communicative, sociable but emotionally aloof, insatiably curious, and a little bit flighty. Fickleness with our affections is a strong possibility, but the desire for a meeting of minds is strong and the urge to socialize dominates. Some detachment from our emotions is likely, which may be a breath of fresh air for some. The lines of communication open, although we may only scratch the surface of things. Under this influence, love is playful and lighthearted. Fickleness is the shadow side of Venus in Gemini.
This week: On Monday through Wednesday, we care a lot to harmonize, putting our pride in how accommodating or compromising we can be. It’s a time of general cooperation and agreeableness. Fortunate connections might be made now. We’re inclined to reach out, make connections, and start fresh in our relationships. We are re-awakened to the beauty of life around us, and new energy invigorates our close relationships. There can be more graciousness, diplomacy, and charm expressed now, and perhaps some superficiality. We’re proud of our ability to get along with others.
Thursday through Saturday brings stormy astrological weather for relationships. We can reach an impasse or obstacle, or there can be a checkpoint moment for our relationships. Temporarily, we fear the worst and see the flaws. Insecurities about not being “in the know” or fears of having the rug pulled from under our feet in our relationships can be stimulated. It might be difficult to get close to one another under these conditions, but with self-honesty, it can be a good time to get in touch with our vulnerability. There can be some emotional distance or blockage, and ideally, it’s a time for reaching a new level of maturity and realism in your relationships.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Gemini Saying (or writing) it with style comes natural now. A yen for variety is a hallmark of this phase, and this especially applies to romantic experience and artistic tastes. (The latter tends to focus on literature in general and poetry in particular.) A sociable, congenial, slightly frivolous orientation sets in.
Venus semi-square Mars May 28-29. Tensions in relationships. Attempting to satisfy romantic needs and assertive/sexual needs simultaneously can be challenging.
Venus semi-square Chiron May 28-29. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves.
Venus sextile the North Node June 3-4. There is a stronger desire to connect to and belong with others at this time. We are more obliging and sociable.
Venus conjunct the Sun June 3-4. Good relating is the focus, although some may find this energy superficial in that surface charm, diplomacy, and harmony is the goal. The pursuit of pleasure is emphasized.
Venus parallel the Sun June 4-5. A strong desire for harmony and comfort fill us now. We may be moved to express our affections.
Venus contra-parallel Pluto June 6. Romantic intensity, a feeling of fatedness, possessiveness, fear of betrayal, and insecurity in relationships. Questions of trust can emerge in relationships. Looking for a commitment.
Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto June 6. Tendencies to look for something wrong in a relationship. Jealousy raises its ugly head.
Venus square Saturn June 7-8. Feeling unsatisfied, isolated, and unloved. Personal relationships are likely to be strained as we express our affections cautiously and sparingly. If we believe we are not getting what we want in love, we attract negative situations and challenges in our relationships. This is not a good time to begin a new relationship–new ones begun now are likely to be stamped with themes of duty and restriction.
Venus sextile Chiron June 10-11. Love has the power to heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings and more willing to act upon them.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.
The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.
The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, June 2nd, from 6:04 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Mars), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Monday, June 3rd, 1:56 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, June 5th, from 4:10 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Neptune), until the Moon enters Gemini at 4:37 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, June 7th, from 8:17 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Cancer at 8:42 AM EDT.
June 2024:
Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).
The Moon is waning this week until the New Moon on the 6th, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). After the New Moon on the 6th, the Moon is waxing–a period that’s generally more favorable for new beginnings, but also with exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week from Tuesday, June 4th, at approximately 8:10 PM EDT, until Wednesday, June 5th, at approximately 4:05 AM EDT, while the Moon is in Taurus. Another window occurs from Friday, June 7th, at approximately 8:45 AM EDT, until Sunday, June 9th, at approximately 3:00 PM EDT, while the Moon is in Cancer. However, it should be noted that Venus and then the Sun form squares to Saturn during this window, which can be undesirable as applying aspects in a chart for a new event (after 8 AM on Sunday is better).

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Jupiter trine Pluto. This is a strong influence for business, the law, and commerce. We might enjoy increased influence, faith, and insight now. The desire for more personal significance can lead us to give of ourselves or motivate us to more ambitiously pursue personal or professional goals. The ability to sway or persuade can be enhanced now. One of the most positive uses of this transit is taking steps to better ourselves. We might solve a long-standing problem, or capitalize upon a resource that was previously hidden.
Mercury sextile Neptune. Intuition runs high; we are more sensitive artistically; imagination is stirred; and we have an increased appreciation for subtleties. We are inspired and we are able to inspire others with our words.
Mercury trine Pluto. Our mental faculties are attuned to otherworldly impressions, offering us increased insight, psychological understanding and awareness, and focused attention.
Mercury conjunct Jupiter. We can visualize in broader terms and see the “big picture” now. Travel is favored, all things equal. We are optimistic, which can help us attract positive circumstances. This is a good time to submit ideas, applications, and so forth, all things equal. This is a time of thinking on a grand scale and long-range planning. Details and mundane affairs do not interest us as much as the big picture does. We are prone to exaggerating the facts due to enthusiasm. Expressing ourselves verbally comes easily, and public relations and negotiations run especially smoothly. This is a time for making long-range plans, seeing the big picture, and thinking about what is really important to us in the long run.
Venus conjunct Sun. We are motivated by the desire to strike a balance in our relationships and in our environment. Smooth negotiations with others. Graciousness, diplomacy, charm, and some superficiality. This is a good period for social affairs, pleasure, amusement, and romance, all things considered.
Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto. This influence can point to some underlying tensions in social interactions (looking for an ulterior motive and suspiciousness) and relationships (possible jealousies). Passions run hot, but there’s a hidden agenda. Feelings of jealousy and possessiveness can be brewing just under the surface of things, and they are in direct proportion to our fear of losing something or someone dear to us. Avoid starting a new relationship at this time, because it can be characterized by these energies. Sometimes, this transit correlates with heartbreak, feelings of unreciprocated love, or romantic disappointment. Often, financial matters come to the fore. Manipulation can color relationships now. Avoid power plays with friends and lovers.
Mercury semi-square Chiron. Communications may be careless, hurtful or perceived as hurtful under this influence. It can be hard to read the intention behind the words used to communicate now. There may be impatience with rules, worry or guilty feelings, and conflicting viewpoints now.
Sun sesquiquadrate Pluto. A tendency to want to control our lives through some form of manipulation is strong during this influence. Meeting with obstacles in our paths, however, can force us into the position of using all of our resources to fight back, and we can discover resources we never knew we had in the process.
Venus square Saturn. Gaining what we want is challenging under this influence, due to negative attitudes and the tendency to need more than what is possible. Difficulties socializing with others stem from an increased sensitivity to rejection as well as stiffness with the affections. Emotional distance in relationships. Avoid new financial undertakings, as they may prove to be “money pits” as time passes.

JUNE 2
A longer-term transit, Jupiter trine Pluto, occurs today and encourages us to connect with our more deeply buried ambitions. It’s a time of heightened influence, faith, and insight. The desire for more personal significance can lead us to give of ourselves or motivate us to pursue individual or professional goals more ambitiously. This transit enhances our ability to sway or persuade. During this transit, we might seize the opportunity to better ourselves. Resolving long-standing problems is in focus. Untapped resources can be harnessed.
This transit is a boon for business, law, and commerce, empowering us to channel our ambitions more effectively and offering us the power to organize, instilling a sense of confidence and control. The desire for success is potent, and our determination heightens, making it an ideal time for personal and professional growth. New ventures can thrive, and so can reviving projects already in progress. This powerful aspect can lead to a stronger sense of confidence, as well as increased ambition, grit, and resourcefulness. We may see opportunities where we previously saw obstacles, and our pursuits can have more depth and power.
Also today, Mercury forms a sextile with Neptune, stirring our imagination. With this transit in play, we can experience a sense of knowing and understanding with minimal explanation or instruction. Intuition is highlighted or awakened, and we creatively apply it to practical matters. We appreciate subtleties as they aid our understanding of others and situations. We are more readily inspired and might inspire others with our words. Psychic openness characterizes our interactions, and our communications are notably gentler or more compassionate.
The Moon is void from 6:04 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Mars), until the Moon enters Taurus tomorrow, Monday, June 3rd, 1:56 AM EDT.
JUNE 3
Mercury enters Gemini today, where it will transit until the 17th. It’s a time when we’re more interested in trivia, information tidbits, and detached observations. There can be frequent changes of mind and subject while Mercury is in Gemini in the two weeks ahead. We’re flexible and quick to grasp topics. With Mercury’s quintile to Saturn today, we’re inclined to sort, categorize, and create order. We’re mentally disciplined. The Sun forms a sextile to the Moon’s North Node, and Venus is about to do the same, encouraging us to aspire to our goals and rise to a challenge. It’s a time to focus on how our independence or life-path goals reinforce us. These transits facilitate cooperation and positivity. We want to grow and improve and may draw in situations that help us do just that.
The Moon continues its void period until the Moon enters Taurus today at 1:56 AM EDT.
JUNE 4
Mercury forms a trine to Pluto and conjunction to Jupiter this morning, and our thoughts, conversations, directions, and ideas are ambitious, forward-looking, and inspired. Verbal expression flows smoothly. It can be an excellent time to come to agreements and resolutions. We see the big picture and are more likely to factor in what’s meaningful to us to our observations and decisions. We should watch for overstating and promising more than we can fulfill, but it remains an excellent time for confidence in our direction. Our opinions are strong. It’s a good time to stretch our thinking and include new possibilities. There can be an opportunity to gain a mental advantage. It’s a powerful time for insight, psychological understanding and awareness, and focused attention. We seek truths and are fascinated by unexplored topics and ideas. It’s a time to gain a deeper understanding of a matter. We might discover new information that gives us an edge or finally “see” the truth of a matter we’ve been avoiding.
Also today, the Sun and Venus align in Gemini, heralding a time for reaching out, making connections, and initiating fresh starts in our relationships. This cosmic event symbolizes the potential for new beginnings and positive transformations in our interpersonal connections. We’re crystallizing the lessons we’ve recently learned through our focus on harmonizing and cooperating, and this newfound wisdom invigorates our relationships. We’re re-awakened to the beauty of life around us, and a surge of new energy revitalizes our close relationships. The desire to strike a balance in our relationships or environment is a powerful motivator now. We’re expressing more graciousness, diplomacy, and charm, showcasing our ability to harmonize and beautify our interactions.
JUNE 5
The Moon leaves Taurus and enters Gemini at 4:38 AM EDT, and we’re communicative and curious. With the Sun’s parallel to Venus today, we’re likely to experience a strong desire for harmony and comfort, and we can be moved to express our affections. At the same time, we are taking more pride in our relationships or diplomacy, and we may be putting more effort into these things now. We prefer to attract than pursue and to compromise than fight. The Moon aligns with Jupiter and then Mercury in Gemini, stirring our curiosity and magnifying our desire to connect. Still, the Moon is Balsamic, and it’s best to reflect, take in, and make time to connect with our intuition before pushing forward. We likely need some time to process and digest recent experiences. Tomorrow’s New Moon can nudge us toward new beginnings, particularly with communications, learning, connecting, and commuting. Consider winding down, reflecting, musing, and tying up loose ends today, especially as the day advances. Ideally, we get a chance to recalibrate.
The Moon is void from 4:10 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Neptune), until the Moon enters Gemini at 4:37 AM EDT.
JUNE 6
This morning’s New Moon occurs in the sign of Gemini. At 8:38 AM EDT, the Moon meets the Sun, presenting us with unique opportunities to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Twins in the coming weeks. The New Moon in Gemini clears a path for new beginnings with learning, sharing, writing, speaking, and connecting. This is a time of immense potential for personal growth and self-awareness. There can be a lot to process, and we may feel that so many factors are involved that it’s challenging to make a decision. We may need to adjust expectations, as we can be see-sawing between seeing too much and too little opportunity. Our conversations or thoughts can lead us in new directions, or there can be new paths for our projects.
This lunation, in its alignment with Venus and square to Saturn, presents a mix of challenges and rewards. It’s likely that we’ll encounter some blocks, obstacles, or reality checks before embarking on our new path. However, the desire for more harmony, love, pleasure, or better relationships is a powerful motivator for these new beginnings, making the journey worthwhile.
Both the Sun and Venus form minor squares to Pluto, pointing to underlying tensions in our social interactions and relationships. These transits can aggravate fears of being powerless or overlooked. Feelings of jealousy and possessiveness can be brewing just under the surface of things, and they are directly proportional to our fear of losing something or someone. Manipulation can color relationships, or financial tensions can emerge. However, it’s crucial to remember that these challenges are opportunities for growth. It can also be a time to recognize our suppressed needs and desires. Getting into a healthier relationship with these buried needs should be a goal.
JUNE 7
The Moon continues its transit of cerebral Gemini until 8:42 AM EDT, from which time the Moon is in Cancer, and we begin to seek some comfort, familiarity, and a sense of belonging. Our feelings run deep, making it a time to get in touch with what motivates us. However, as the day advances, we head toward a Venus-Saturn square, and there can be some withholding or socially awkward energy later today. We may feel a little discouraged on a social level if we don’t receive the feedback we crave, or this can be a checkpoint moment with a relationship or money matter. Gaining what we want is challenging under this influence, possibly due to negative expectations or a tendency to crave more than what is currently, and realistically, possible. Difficulties with socializing can occur if we are a little more sensitive to rejection than usual. There may be a lesson or reality check related to matters of the heart, pleasures, or finances. Temporarily, we’re unlikely to feel free or generous with money or our hearts.
The Moon is void from 8:17 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Cancer at 8:42 AM EDT.
JUNE 8
Early today, the Venus-Saturn square can feel a bit discouraging. We’re also heading toward a Sun-Saturn square, exact tomorrow morning, and we might focus on the negative possibilities, which can be the first step before we get to a place of realism. We can feel underestimated, unrecognized, unlucky, or unrewarded! Perhaps most importantly, we should watch for setting unattainable standards for ourselves, others, and situations. The Moon is in Cancer all day, and we’re looking for safety, familiarity, warmth, and sustenance. This transit encourages us to center ourselves and let go of overthinking.

When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.

When the Moon is in Taurus
We are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and "stop to smell the roses." Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence.
While the Moon is in Taurus, people can be emotionally constant but inflexible. It's a time of stronger focus on personal needs and comfort levels, and a period of more common sense and attention to practical matters.
The Moon in Taurus generally favors the following activities: Substantial and material actions that yield solid results. Financial activities, and those involving personal possessions, applying for a loan, beginning a potentially long-term relationship, music, home decor.
When the Moon is in Gemini
Our basic instinct is to communicate, think, and learn under the influence of Moon in Gemini. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, spirited, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle.
The Moon in Gemini generally favors the following activities: Mental and communicative actions, and more than one activity at once. Reading, learning, letters and emails, errands, writing, teaching, making connections, cafes, light and airy meetings, short trips.
When the Moon is in Cancer
The restlessness of the Gemini Moon gives way to an instinctive need for peace and quiet. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us.

It’s a time of more involvement with other people, a time for gathering information, and a time when you’re apt to be more on the go than ever. There is likely to be an emphasis on reading, writing, studying, and all forms of exchanging information with others in the years ahead – and it will all serve as a path for self-discovery and personal development.
Mercury in Taurus “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” – that’s the key to the way you think at a time like this. Practical, utilitarian ideas are the ones that make the most sense now – putting them to good use is a focus for you. Material things are foremost on your mind in many respects: an emphasis on the real rather than the ideal.
Mercury in Gemini A walking encyclopedia, a yen to know a little bit about everything (and everyone): these are the icons of the cycle you have just begun. Talking, writing, keeping a finger on the pulse of all that’s happening … this is a time of study and learning, a cycle of mental challenge, curiosity, and social/intellectual growth. Such things are an end in themselves rather than a means to any other end.
Mars in Aries Fresh challenges and initiatives light your fires now, as a new cycle begins in your life – lots of energy, a powerful urge to be first or come out on top. Away with the old and on to the new – let no one and nothing stand between you and your objective! Headstrong impulses and rash courage can take you far … sometimes in harm’s way, if you’re not careful.
Jupiter in Gemini Facilitating the transfer of ideas and information takes on a special priority for you now. Writing, studying, and communicating play a bigger role in your life as a result. The belief that well-informed people will make the right decisions becomes an article of faith. Just remember: sometimes people know the right thing to do and STILL do something different!
Saturn in Pisces Making peace with the past, coming to terms with karmic debts: these are some of the issues that confront you as a new phase begins in your life. Failure to face these things can cause setbacks and put obstacles in your path. Learn to look beyond the narrowly personal and selfish or you’ll get in over your head.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Aquarius Reform, revolution, a rejection of the past and a focus on the future: these are the signatures of the new phase now beginning in your life. Tradition becomes irrelevant, and the conventional wisdom is revealed as dogma or outright nonsense – and what’s the difference, really? Radical changes in all things social and intellectual.
