The FULL MOON occurs on Friday, June 21st, 2024, at 9:08 PM EDT.
On Friday night, a Full Moon occurs when the Sun in early Cancer forms an opposition to the Moon in early Capricorn at 9:07 PM EDT. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
To understand this Full Moon, we need to recognize that the Cancer-Capricorn polarity concerns the balance between the private life, domesticity, the need for a home base, and nurturance (represented by Cancer) versus the public life, career, reputation, and accountability (represented by Capricorn). Attachments and love are ruled by Cancer, while achievements and rewards/punishments are ruled by Capricorn.
In some ways, this polarity deals with the balance between unconditional love and conditional love. Cancer encourages us to value our home base and our roots, while Capricorn persuades us to consider our sense of duty and responsibility along public or professional lines. While Cancer may be content to be dependent, Capricorn urges us to be grown-up and responsible.
Cancer represents the origin, and Capricorn represents the goal. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do.
This Full Moon is about balancing our commitment to our career and families. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.
The Capricorn Full Moon brings to light a significant conflict between our roots and our direction. As the Moon shines brightly in the sky, it symbolically illuminates our lives. This illumination, however, is emotional in nature, with feelings bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s a time for self-expression and releasing what no longer serves us.
While it’s important to express ourselves during this time, it’s equally crucial to exercise care. The emotions that are surfacing are fresh, unrefined, and not yet rational. This means that what we express might not be our most balanced or well-thought-out thoughts and feelings.
The Capricorn Full Moon forms a square to Neptune, indicating potential challenges. We should be mindful of deception and self-deception, as well as the possibility of reacting to disillusionment. Understanding these challenges can help us navigate through this emotional period more effectively.
The chart:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 1 degrees and 7 minutes of Capricorn opposite the Sun at the same degree of Cancer, affecting people with personal planets and points at approximately 27 to 30 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) and 0 to 5 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.
The following is a chart of this Full Moon with additional points:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 1 degrees and 7 minutes of Capricorn, affecting planets at approximately 0 to 5 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) and 27 to 30 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) the most.

This week: The Sun is in Gemini until the 20th, when it enters Cancer; Mercury is in Gemini until the 17th, when it enters Cancer; Venus is in Gemini until the 17th, when it enters Cancer; Mars is in Taurus.
The Sun is in Gemini from May 20-June 20. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. Due to this curiosity and awareness of all our options, we tend to scatter our energies. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.
Gemini represents duality and mediation. Gemini’s energy is intelligent, optimistic, observant, and adaptable. It’s skeptical, ready to consider alternate ways of thinking. We’re prepared to trade, share, exchange, pass on news, teach, guide, and learn.
We gather information during the Sun-in-Gemini cycle, and we benefit from this transit’s objectivity. We’re quick-witted, cheerful, engaging, and we easily adapt, observe, and listen–it’s a clever and crafty influence.
On the downside, we can be gossipy, overly intellectual, or too rational when a softer touch would be more appropriate. As we relay and process information, we could be living too much in our heads, disconnected from what’s in our hearts.
The Sun is in Cancer from June 20-July 22. We are self-protective and insular under this influence. Our attention turns to our nest–our families, homes, and anything that makes us feel “at home,” safe, and secure.
Nurturing and caring for our loved ones and pet projects come into focus. Emotions run deep, and we easily tune in to the world of feelings. Note that we are more in tune with the Moon while the Sun is in Cancer.
We may not want to grow up and face responsibilities or the outside world during the Sun-in-Cancer cycle. We should watch for dependence when we’d do better for ourselves otherwise. However, it’s a robust transit for recognizing our needs for comfort, safety, and familiarity. We’re inclined to form strong bonds and protect our loved ones.
Mercury is in Gemini from June 3-17. When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable. Mercury rules Gemini and feels right at home in the sign. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining a superficial knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic.
When it comes to making a point or debating, we are especially astute while Mercury is in Gemini. We are attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations, and we’re easily distracted. It’s a time when we’re more interested in trivia, information tidbits, and detached observations. There can be frequent changes of mind and subject. We’re flexible and quick to grasp topics.
Mercury is in Cancer from June 17-July 2. When Mercury is in Cancer, we move from the desire for quantity with information to the need for quality. We think, speak, and take in information on a deeper, more instinctive level. We have less interest in what is universal and more interest in what affects us personally and the people close to us. Our thoughts are colored by our emotions, making it more challenging to be objective.
We have outstanding and detailed memories during this cycle. We’re more likely to absorb information about the emotional background or atmosphere/setting around us, picking up on moods and tones in addition to facts.
While we may not have great confidence in our ability to generate new or original ideas, we have a well-developed sense of humor and radiate warmth in our communications. We take great interest in (and notice of) personal issues and interactions during this period. We don’t care much for intellectual stands if they’re devoid of a personal or heartful element, and we need intimate settings to express ourselves fully.
Venus is in Gemini from May 23-June 17. With Venus in Gemini, we have a finger in every pie. Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels. “Variety is the spice of life” is the motto now. We are friendly, communicative, charming, and interested.
While it’s a time when we can be animated and fun, we may also keep our distance on an emotional level. Attractions often begin with words, as we tend to bond more readily on a mental level while Venus is in Gemini. We’re most attracted to mentally interesting people. Sometimes, our curiosity leads us into relationships that we might not form otherwise. The shadow side of Gemini is fickleness or disinterest in profundity.
Venus in Gemini is flirtatious, captivating, and adaptable. We ask questions and want to keep things light and lively. During this transit, we do best when we’re mentally engaged and our desire for variety is addressed. Social stimulation is appealing. Good fortune with transportation and communication can figure strongly.
Venus is in Cancer from June 17-July 11. In Cancer, Venus is nurturing, protective and self-protective, cautious, and fertile. We experience many emotional ups and downs in love under this influence due to our increased sensitivity and impressionability. We are tender, romantic, and attached. We could be clingy or sulky during this period.
Cancer love is dedicated, warm, and devoted. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern. We are affectionate and cuddly, and are at our best when we feel safe and secure. We also want to make our loved ones feel safe and comfortable.
It’s a good cycle for collecting and money related to real estate, accommodation, food, coins, silver, or antiques. We enjoy homey, familiar pastimes and art and simple pleasures.
Cautious with our feelings, we are not always confident about boldly trying or sharing new things during this cycle. However, we do whatever we can to make our loved ones feel special. Our memories are long, and we can be very sentimental.
Mars is in Taurus from June 9-July 20. During this cycle, we are determined, stubborn, and persistent. Mars in Taurus can be passive until provoked and is at its strongest when digging in its heels, outlasting, or defending something! In stark contrast to the impulsive Mars in Aries cycle, we tend to pursue our goals by plodding along patiently. We seek longevity and long-term satisfaction.
While Mars is in Taurus, we’re slow to change course or get started but persevering. Preferring methodical work over creative methods, we seek predictability and stability. We can be stubborn and resistant to change, and we’ll work the hardest for material security.
It’s not a time when we readily take risks. Instead, we seek concrete, long-lasting results. Our stamina is great, and our cravings and physical needs/desires are prominent, driving us towards our goals.
Jupiter is in Gemini.
Jupiter began its transit of Gemini on May 24th, 2024, and continues its transit of the sign until June 9th, 2025. Read more about Jupiter’s transit of Gemini.
Saturn transits Pisces from March 7th, 2023 until May 24th, 2025, and Sep 1st, 2025, to Feb 13th, 2026. Read about Saturn’s transit of Pisces.
Uranus is in Taurus.
Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. Above all, we’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.
There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. In general, we’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money, are likely. Our income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Pluto transitions from Capricorn to Aquarius in 2023 and 2024. Read about Pluto’s transit of Aquarius. Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn, and was in Capricorn until January 20th, 2024. Pluto is in Aquarius from January 20th to September 1st, when it will retreat into Capricorn once again. Note: Pluto is slow-moving through the zodiac signs!
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Gemini from May 23-June 17. In Gemini, Venus is communicative, sociable but emotionally aloof, insatiably curious, and a little bit flighty. Fickleness with our affections is a strong possibility, but the desire for a meeting of minds is strong and the urge to socialize dominates.
Some detachment from our emotions is likely, which may be a breath of fresh air for some. The lines of communication open, although we may only scratch the surface of things. Under this influence, love is playful and lighthearted. Fickleness is the shadow side of Venus in Gemini.
Venus is in Cancer from June 17-July 11. We treat lovers with sympathy and tenderness, providing the emotional nurturing that they need. We tend to “play it safe” when it comes to relationships. Love and devotion are most important to us, and provide us with a sense of inner security. We seek a deep love in which we can merge souls and personalities with our lover. We are quite devoted to our partners, and we seek such devotion in return.
However, we could also become possessive, manipulative, and stifling. Familiarity is more important to us now. Our fear of rejection is overdeveloped, and we offer our hearts cautiously as a result. We pay more attention to our lovers’ feelings than their words. We feel threatened if a lover acts in an impersonal, overly independent, or detached manner. Safe and solid relationships are more appealing. Romantic and emotional hurts are very hard to forget.
In Cancer, Venus is nurturing, protective and self-protective, cautious, and fertile. We experience many emotional ups and downs in love under this influence due to increased sensitivity and impressionability. We are tender, romantic, and attached. Cancer love is dedicated, warm, and devoted. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern. We are affectionate and cuddly, and are at our best when we feel safe and secure.
This week: The tendency to project our fantasies, whether these are positive or negative, onto others or relationships is strong on Sunday. Watch for deception and self-deception now. This can also be a time of rash decision-making which is likely regrettable. It’s best to wait and see.
On Monday, we are communicative and diplomatic–inclined to talk about our feelings, connections, affections, and relationships. There can be clarifications about feelings or love.
Tuesday brings some awkward energy to our interactions. Issues of power and control can arise, but they can be hard to discern. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Gemini Saying (or writing) it with style comes natural now. A yen for variety is a hallmark of this phase, and this especially applies to romantic experience and artistic tastes. (The latter tends to focus on literature in general and poetry in particular.) A sociable, congenial, slightly frivolous orientation sets in.
Venus in Cancer Mothering (or being mothered), sympathy, a yearning to put down roots, and a fondness for things that have stood the test of time – these are some of the hallmarks of the phase that now begins in your life. Romantic and social experiences, as well as artistic tastes, will show evidence of these factors.
Venus sextile Chiron June 10-11. Love has the power to heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings and more willing to act upon them.
Venus square Neptune June 16. Relationship ups and downs characterize this transit–a time when romantic mirages are more than likely. We see what we hope to see, rather than what really is. The “highs” of a relationship begun under this energy may be thrilling, but the accompanying “lows” are bound to set in, and they can be extremely draining. Be careful not to set yourself up for disappointment.
Venus conjunct Mercury June 17. Favors playfulness in love and enhanced communication between partners.
Venus quincunx Pluto June 18. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Venus semi-square Uranus June 25. Uncertainty about the desire to be close to someone. Freedom versus closeness. A desire to experiment in the romance department may be fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying or frustrating.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.
The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.
The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, June 17th, from 2:05 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 2:38 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, June 19th, from 12:19 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Neptune), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 12:32 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, June 21st, from 6:58 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:09 PM EDT.
June 2024:
Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).
The Moon is waxing this week until the Full Moon on the 21st, which is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). The Moon is waning after the Full Moon on the 21st, which astrologers generally consider to be unfavorable for new beginnings, also with some exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week from Friday, June 14th, at approximately 2:15 PM EDT, until Monday, June 17th, at approximately 2:00 AM, while the Moon is in Libra.
Another window occurs on Wednesday, June 19th, from approximately 4:30 AM to 12:15 PM EDT, while the Moon is in Scorpio.
An additional window occurs from Saturday, June 22nd, at approximately 4:30 PM EDT, until Sunday, June 23rd, at approximately 11:00 PM EDT, while the Moon is in Capricorn.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus square Neptune. Relationship ups and downs characterize this transit – a time when romantic mirages are more than likely. We see what we hope to see, rather than what really is. The “highs” of a relationship begun under this energy may be thrilling, but the accompanying “lows” are bound to set in, and they can be extremely draining. Be careful not to set yourself up for disappointment. The same goes for finances – what appears to be a great buy is likely to turn out to be a financial drain or money pit. Lines can blur when it comes to pursuit of pleasure, as we can convince ourselves to believe what we want to believe.
Mercury square Neptune. We find it hard to follow facts, directions, and instructions. Difficulties concentrating on hard, cold facts are likely; and we may question facts altogether or avoid being pinned down for answers. This is a bad time for signing on the dotted line. Perceptions are confused, unrealistic, or too idealistic to carry weight in the real world. Conversations may be vague.
Mercury conjunct Venus. Lighthearted conversations, sociability, humor, cooperation. Good time for socializing and for communicating with ease, telling others how we feel, and negotiating. Mentally, we’re not as disciplined as usual, as we prefer to chat with others and to think about more “pleasant” things than work. Generally favorable for commerce.
Mercury quincunx Pluto. Something we write or say could trigger power struggles or hostility from others. We may be plagued with self-doubt in our attempts to make decisions. Decisions made now are unlikely to be objective. Re-assessing decisions we have made already, or adjusting our plans, may be in order. Second-guessing.
Venus quincunx Pluto. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Sun square Neptune. Concentrating on artistic or spiritual pursuits is better than focusing on things that require straightforward, factual thinking today. It can be difficult knowing where or how to direct your willpower under this influence. It’s also a challenge knowing where you stand with others. Avoid such things as scheduling surgery, important appointments, job interviews, or launches of new projects at this time.
Mercury sextile Mars. Mental alertness, enthusiasm, and energetic communications figure now. Quick decisions can be made. We are productive and take “busy-ness” in stride. We are alert and aware, and can easily turn ideas into workable projects.
Mercury semi-square Uranus. We can have flashes of insight, but tend to be scatterbrained. Our ideas and communications may not be well-received because they don’t seem to others to carry weight. Our minds are not peaceful or harmonious under this influence, and irritable tempers, sarcastic speech, and dogmatism are negative expressions of this energy.
Sun quincunx Pluto. Adjustments are necessary now in order for our lives to move forward. The need to make changes in our life that will further our psychological development arise now.
Note: Times given in the table/calendar above are Eastern Time (ET).

JUNE 16
The Moon spends another day in Libra, and we’re especially relationship-focused. Both Venus and Mercury will enter Cancer tomorrow morning, but before they change signs, they form squares to Neptune–Venus tonight and Mercury early tomorrow. These transits can cast a veil over our needs, wants, and perceptions. We find it challenging to follow or clearly communicate facts, directions, and instructions. Perceptions may be confused or overly idealistic, influenced heavily by wishful thinking and imagination. We may be dealing with deception or self-deception, and it can be difficult to be discriminating. We may be dreaming up the ideal, which can clash with reality. We can lack some discrimination, particularly regarding people we care about, information, our relationships, and material things.
However, by engaging in self-reflection, we can separate fact from fiction and avoid setting ourselves up for disappointment. What appears to be a great buy or something we need may turn out to be useless to us, or worse, a financial drain or money pit. Lines can blur with pursuing pleasure, as we can convince ourselves to believe what we want to think. We’re likely too close to the situation. By examining discontent experienced now, we can identify where we’ve neglected our spiritual, idealistic, romantic, or imaginative needs, empowering us to take control of our lives. On the plus side, our minds are open to many possibilities and options.
JUNE 17
Venus and Mercury enter Cancer this morning, setting the stage for warmer, more protective communications and expressions of affection in the weeks ahead. However, these bodies align today, encouraging us to intellectualize or analyze our feelings, leading to a tendency to hash things out, compliment one another, see the positives, and enjoy our exchanges. It’s an excellent time to reach agreements or negotiate with others. However, this transit is a cooperative influence that stirs our desire for harmony and balance, which can mean we don’t dig too deeply.
Both planets form quincunxes to Pluto later today and tomorrow, however, and we tend to maneuver and plan. We might be too insistent on getting information, but our hearts may not be ready for it. There can be difficulties digesting or accepting a matter. We might have a hard time getting our message across or coming to a decision/conclusion that feels right, or we trigger negative responses from others. Tension now results from fear-based suspicions. Still, it can also be a time for recognizing the needs and desires that we’ve suppressed. The Moon’s transit through balanced Libra until 2:38 AM EDT signifies a time of equilibrium, followed by its movement through incisive, perceptive Scorpio, indicating a period of deeper emotional insight.
The Moon is void from 2:05 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 2:38 AM EDT.
JUNE 18
Venus forms a quincunx with Pluto today, and there can be a tendency to second-guess feelings, relationships, and even purchases. It’s a time of adjustments and reassessments in our relationships, spending, entertainment, or social lives. Fears and jealousy can emerge seemingly out of nowhere, disrupting the flow, but they can also push us to see our emotional blind spots. The Moon spends the day in perceptive, intense Scorpio, drawing our attention to complexities. Its trine to Saturn this afternoon is a reassuring presence, stabilizing us. We can find a balance between emotion and practical application, which is productive and well-rounded.
JUNE 19
A Scorpio Moon until 12:32 PM EDT encourages us to tap into our desires, and a Neptune-Vesta trine sparks our imagination and creativity. This is a time of dedication, where we might volunteer our services or willingly support and make sacrifices for loved ones. The Sagittarius Moon from 12:32 PM forward is enthusiastic, confident, and forward-looking. Later today, a semi-sextile between Mercury and Jupiter may bring some indecisiveness, but our positive thinking allows us to bounce back quickly from any disappointment. The Moon opposes Jupiter tonight, which brings a sense of ‘borrow from the future’ energy. We should be careful not to commit to something for which we don’t yet have the resources.
The Moon is void from 12:19 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Neptune), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 12:32 PM EDT.
JUNE 20
The Sun enters Cancer today, marking the solstice, but before it does, it forms a square with Neptune. This transit, while challenging, also presents a unique opportunity for spiritual growth. We might question our purpose, goals, or sense of duty, and if we’ve lacked inspiration or motivation, we can feel it more acutely now. We may be dealing with some disorganization, impracticality, or a temporary energy drain. However, this transit also challenges us to consider our needs for inspiration and imagination, which might conflict with our plans and goals. Until we find ways to incorporate more spirit into our lives, there can be problems with feeling motivated. It can be a time of increased spiritual awareness and vision, even if we initially struggle with this. There may be detours or distractions to deal with now. Ideally, we come up with ideas for refueling, and this new energy is more authentic and fulfilling.
Because this problematic square occurs so late in the signs of Gemini and Pisces, we should watch for impulsive decision-making based on our current perceptions, which can be a little skewed or warped temporarily.
The Sun’s transit of Cancer starts today and runs until July 22nd. This period invites us to turn our attention inwards, to our nests–our families, homes, base of operations, and anything that makes us feel safe and secure. Nurturing and caring for loved ones and pet projects become a sharper focus. We’re more invested in our personal lives in the month ahead, offering a unique opportunity for self-discovery.
On the other hand, the Moon spends the day in Sagittarius, igniting our desire for something different, new, or spirited. This transit encourages us to embrace adventure and open our minds to new experiences for a refreshing change of pace.
JUNE 21
A Mercury-Mars sextile today is forthright and forthcoming! This transit excites our senses. It can be a time of animated discussions or thoughts. We want to do something with our ideas, learn, teach, or debate. We are exceptionally alert, resourceful, and aware, although possibly self-focused. There is enthusiasm in our conversations and excitement about our interests and discoveries.
The Moon continues its transit of enthusiastic Sagittarius until 7:09 PM EDT, when it enters practical Capricorn, reaching full at 9:08 PM. This Full Moon in Capricorn reminds us of the importance of maintaining a balance between our commitments to the outside world and our personal lives. We must take care of our responsibilities, attend to business, act maturely, and take charge, while also nurturing our personal relationships and well-being. Solid, practical, and doable ideas are associated with the realizations and epiphanies occurring now. It’s a time of turning points and events that nudge us to balance our commitment to our careers and families. Even so, this lunation forms a square to Neptune, and we should watch for deception and self-deception. We might also consider that we can be reacting to disillusionment.
The Moon is void from 6:58 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:09 PM EDT.
JUNE 22
Venus forms a semi-sextile to Jupiter, and finding a balance between what we want to do and what we think we should do is complex early today. We could feel torn between two drives, seeing-sawing between alternatives. It can be difficult to settle on a plan temporarily. As well, the Sun forms a quincunx with Pluto this morning, and adjustments are necessary for us to grow and improve. We can feel a little disgruntled or tense until we discover the best way to make these changes. Fears of loss or jealousy could emerge. There may be a power shift or a setback that has us feeling temporarily out of sorts or powerless. There can be the realization that we need to let something go to further our psychological growth.
The Moon spends all day in Capricorn, and we strive for increased self-sufficiency. We’re incredibly goal-oriented and particularly aware of our responsibilities and performance. This Moon grounds us on the one hand and stimulates our ambitions on the other. However, with a Mercury-Node square, the tendency is to overthink, overexplain, or overanalyze, which can work at cross purposes with what we’re striving to be, making decisions choppy. Misrepresentative communications can hinder growth, improvement, and direction. We could also be juggling too many tasks to our detriment.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
When the Moon is in Capricorn
We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.
The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Gemini The cycle which begins for you now will be marked by a more intense focus on mental and communicative activity than you may ever have experienced before. It’s a time of more involvement with other people, a time for gathering information, and a time when you’re apt to be more on the go than ever. There is likely to be an emphasis on reading, writing, studying, and all forms of exchanging information with others in the years ahead – and it will all serve as a path for self-discovery and personal development.
Sun in Cancer Being more in touch with your emotional roots is a keynote of the cycle that now takes hold in your life. This has to do with feelings, but it’s more than that: it’s about making the things you feel and care about a reality. At some levels, this means a greater focus on family life – parents, children, relatives, the whole domestic scene. On a somewhat broader scale, you’re likely to find that houses and other real property take on greater significance for you. Nurturing is where it’s at in your life now: making things grow and taking care of them, planting seeds that will develop and survive far into the future – that’s what it’s all about.
Mercury in Gemini A walking encyclopedia, a yen to know a little bit about everything (and everyone): these are the icons of the cycle you have just begun. Talking, writing, keeping a finger on the pulse of all that’s happening … this is a time of study and learning, a cycle of mental challenge, curiosity, and social/intellectual growth. Such things are an end in themselves rather than a means to any other end.
Mercury in Cancer Gut-level is the way you think, speak, and perceive in the cycle you have just begun. You aren’t interested in the superficial; instead, you want to get right to the root of things. You don’t care about the universal, only about how things impact you and yours. Intellect and emotion mix to the point of inseparability.
Mars in Taurus Making the most of what you’ve got, striving for security and stability: that’s the impulse that stirs in you as a new cycle begins in your life. New frontiers? That’s kid’s stuff for you now! What you want is to build something that will last: a pyramid, a Great Wall – you know, that sort of thing. Steady, patient, solid: that’s your style now.
Jupiter in Gemini Facilitating the transfer of ideas and information takes on a special priority for you now. Writing, studying, and communicating play a bigger role in your life as a result. The belief that well-informed people will make the right decisions becomes an article of faith. Just remember: sometimes people know the right thing to do and STILL do something different!
Saturn in Pisces Making peace with the past, coming to terms with karmic debts: these are some of the issues that confront you as a new phase begins in your life. Failure to face these things can cause setbacks and put obstacles in your path. Learn to look beyond the narrowly personal and selfish or you’ll get in over your head.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Aquarius Reform, revolution, a rejection of the past and a focus on the future: these are the signatures of the new phase now beginning in your life. Tradition becomes irrelevant, and the conventional wisdom is revealed as dogma or outright nonsense – and what’s the difference, really? Radical changes in all things social and intellectual.
