The NEW MOON occurs on Friday, February 9th, 2024, at 5:59 PM EST.
On Friday evening, the New Moon in Aquarius marks the beginning of a new cycle. The Capricorn New Moon cycle ends and the Aquarius New Moon cycle begins. In the sign of Aquarius, friendship, brotherhood, group activities, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, humanitarian efforts, or joining a group will be a strong focus. New beginnings regarding any or all of these matters are possible now.
This is a time during which we should solve problems that require thinking “outside of the box.” We look to the future with a brand new, positive, and hopeful vision, frequently brainstorm and socialize, and focus on extending a friendly hand, receiving support, and expressing platonic love for those around us. It’s a time to give our emotions and passions a break as we develop more objectivity and some detachment from past haunts. We might learn how something (or someone) works or revitalize ourselves through experiences that are new or simply different.
This cycle encourages us to reach out to people in our social circle and in our community, and recognize the value of our friendships and social networks. We might also recognize that some level of detachment and distancing ourselves from our habits and attachment to the past will help us break away from destructive behaviors that are holding us back.
With this potent Aquarius energy, we have the chance to make progressive changes in our lives. For some of us, circumstances are such that we need to pay more attention to these matters.
This New Moon clashes with Uranus, bringing rebellious, impulsive, abrupt, and innovative energy. The chart itself forms an uncommon bundle pattern, and we can be particularly focused, determined, and concentrated. We should watch for being overly stubborn or narrow in our focus.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 20 degrees and 41 minutes of Aquarius, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 17 to 25 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.
This second chart wheel of the same astrological event, the New Moon in Aquarius in 2024, includes some additional points, such as the four major asteroids, Chiron, Eris, and Sedna.

This week: The Sun is in Aquarius; Mercury is in Capricorn until the 5th, when it enters Aquarius; Venus is in Capricorn; Mars is in Capricorn.
The Sun is in Aquarius from January 20-February 18. During this cycle, we are motivated by our hunger for knowledge, experience, and originality. Innovation is more important to us than convention. We become more aware of what is outdated in our lives, and strive to find new perspectives and new ways to do things. The class distinctions, structure, and order that Capricorn finds appealing now seem to be too rigid. The freedom of the individual becomes far more significant to us. We strive to free ourselves from some of the restrictions, inhibitions, and limitations that now feel constraining rather than safe.
We recognize those things that are obsolete or outdated, and we’re ready to change the world with new ideas and methods. We might often let our heads rule over our hearts during this cycle, preferring an objective, impersonal, and rational approach to life.
Mercury is in Capricorn from January 13-February 5. [Mercury was in Capricorn recently–from December 1-23, 2023, but retreated into Sagittarius due to Mercury’s retrograde motion.] When Mercury is in Capricorn, our thinking is methodical and our focus is sober and practical. It is easier to concentrate on the task at hand under this influence. Our conversations may be quite realistic or focused on business/practical matters. Our thought patterns and communication styles become more logical, orderly, and organized.
We are more able to sort out what is relevant and essential. Realism enters the picture, our speech is no-nonsense, and precision becomes important to us. Our survival instincts are strong–we’re interested in what will benefit us in the long term.
We’re not interested in the fluff, preferring to get right to a point or the bottom line. Communication can be somewhat guarded or cautious, and similarly not very floral or expressive. We gravitate to concrete subjects and information that’s logical, useful, and well-organized. We may prefer a methodical approach to studying. Our fantasies may be well-considered and possible, with realistic overtones.
We need to be wary of becoming too rigid in our thinking. We may come across as cold or harsh. For some, there is a fine line between realism and pessimism. At times, we might lack humor, or we’re inclined toward sarcasm when joking. We can be quite stubborn with our ideas and methods.
We can use this period to make solid, realistic plans and get organized. It’s a favorable time to advise, teach, or guide. Generally, we’re more concerned than usual with our reputation or responsibilities. Our dependability can reap rewards. We love to plan ahead and map out our next steps. Changes of schedule can be most disconcerting during this cycle.
Our reactions are sensible, cool, and level-headed while Mercury is in Capricorn.
Mercury is in Aquarius from February 5-23. When Mercury is in Aquarius, we are hungry for knowledge and open to new and original ideas. We begin to think outside of the box, and our thinking becomes more progressive and objective. Our communication and thought patterns are spontaneous, somewhat fragmented, reasonable, objective, and liberal. This is a time when inventive thinking is at a peak.
We’re reasonable, finding it easier to separate intellect and emotion when assessing a situation. Although progressive-minded and receptive to new studies and information, we are not quick to sway from our ideas and beliefs.
During this cycle, we take more interest in thinking that’s daring or original. As we envision a better future, we can come up with truly interesting ideas and concepts.
Venus is in Capricorn from January 23-February 16. Getting serious about our finances and boosting our relations with business partners and/or co-workers will be easier than usual under this influence. Our talents for creating artistic structure and form are enhanced, and our ability to form connections with people who support our ambitions increases.
We value enduring connections, reliability, and faithfulness. We take expressing our feelings seriously, and we take our time to warm up to others. We generally keep our “cool” in relationships. We’re steadfast and seek genuine, perhaps old-fashioned connections. It’s not a time for PDA, and we can be somewhat guarded and reserved with expressing our feelings or revealing our relationships.
The underdog who works hard can have their time in the sun now. We value slow and steady effort and long-term prospects. Reliability in others is most attractive.
This cycle favors getting along well with higher-ups, conservative business goals and ventures, long-term investments, and matters related to pension.
Mars is in Capricorn from January 4-February 13. Mars in Capricorn is deliberate, persistent energy. We consider the future and the consequences before taking action during this cycle. Our energy is reliable, careful, reserved, and faithful. We are slow to anger but can be quite cold and irritable if frustrated.
Skepticism and realism are themes. We are thorough and precise. Orderliness, discipline, self-reliance, and planning well can be in focus. We dislike waste, sloppiness, and excess. Our ambitions are clear, and our actions are measured and careful. We need to feel that we’re in control and on top of things. The shadow side of Mars in Capricorn is rigidity, negativity, or dryness.
Jupiter is in Taurus.
Jupiter begins its transit of Taurus on May 16th, 2023, and it will continue its transit of the sign until May 25th, 2024. Read more about Jupiter’s transit of Taurus.
Saturn transits Pisces from March 7th, 2023 until May 24th, 2025, and Sep 1st, 2025, to Feb 13th, 2026. Read about Saturn’s transit of Pisces.
Uranus is in Taurus.
Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. Above all, we’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.
There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. In general, we’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money, are likely. Our income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Pluto transitions from Capricorn to Aquarius in 2023 and 2024. Read about Pluto’s transit of Aquarius. Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn, and was in Capricorn until January 20th, 2024. Pluto is in Aquarius from January 20th to September 1st, when it will retreat into Capricorn once again. Note: Pluto is slow-moving!
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Capricorn from January 23-February 16. Venus in Capricorn is a cycle in which security and stability in our relationships are paramount. We are more cautious with our emotions and somewhat skeptical of both our own feelings and others’ expressions of affection. Longevity is important to us under this influence.
There is a formality to Capricorn that can make personal expressions seem awkward and forced. However, this cycle offers us the opportunity to consider some of the practical issues of our relations and to work on making our partnerships work in the real world. A dose of realism in our personal lives can help us to feel more grounded and secure in the long run.
This week: On Sunday and Monday, there can be some reluctance to commit or to show our affections. We may feel that our quest for pleasure, affection, love, or comfort is at odds with what we think we should be doing, which can lead to mild tension or feelings of guilt, and perhaps some indecision. Seeking to fulfill both of these needs without doing so at the expense of the other makes sense, but isn’t straightforward at this time.
On Monday and Tuesday, we may be working at cross-purposes with our relationships or relationship goals. There can be a lack of agreement, dissatisfaction stirred up, and a sense that our relationships are preventing our growth.
We can feel raring to go and willing to experiment and try new things in our relationships on Wednesday, which can freshen things up. We’re especially open to making changes or venturing into new territory with our feelings, tastes, and pleasures. It’s not an ideal time for making commitments, but it’s a good time to experiment and explore.
On Saturday, the 10th, we fear the worst and see the flaws. There can be some emotional distance or blockage, and ideally, it’s a time for reaching a new level of maturity and realism in your relationships.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Capricorn Marry for money and then learn to love ’em: that’s what your heart tells you now, as a new cycle gets underway in your life. Does that sound cynical? Maybe so – but it does reflect the yearning you feel for security and stability now, and it suggests the kind of compromises you may be willing to make to accomplish these objectives.
Venus parallel Mercury January 31-February 1. A congenial time when we appreciate diplomacy and socialize more readily.
Venus square Chiron February 4-5. Not a commitment-friendly transit. We are somewhat fearful of investing ourselves emotionally in a relationship.
Venus semi-sextile the Sun February 4-5.
Venus square Moon’s North Node February 5-6. Social niceties go by the wayside, and we may be working at cross-purposes with our relationships or relationship goals. There can be a lack of agreement, dissatisfaction stirred up, and a sense that our relationships are preventing our growth.
Venus trine Uranus February 7. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit.
Venus semi-square Saturn February 10. Feelings of isolation, of not getting what we really want, and of not being loved the way we want to be loved can get in the way of pleasant relations with our partners.
Venus sextile Neptune February 12-13. Unusual attractions that add imagination, inspiration, and emotional “color” to our lives may occur now. We are attuned to the subtleties of human interaction, and we are more inclined to naturally cooperate with others. An imaginative, romantic time.
Venus conjunct Pluto February 16-17. An extraordinarily passionate time for relationships. We are focused and confident. There is a tendency to want–and to demand–a lot from a partnership or friendship. Powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships. New insights into relationships and love. Strong attractions. Relationships begun under this influence are intense and passionate, deep and far from superficial, and can be quite possessive as well.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.
The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.
The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Saturday, February 3rd, from 10:25 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mercury), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Sunday, February 4th, at 1:28 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Tuesday, February 6th, from 12:07 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:09 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Thursday, February 8th, from 2:53 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Mars), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 9:00 AM EST.
VOC Moon on Friday, February 9th, from 6:00 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to the Sun), until the Moon enters Pisces the next day, Saturday, February 10th, at 8:43 AM EST.
February 2024:
Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).
The Moon is waning this week until the New Moon on the 9th, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, although with some exceptions. The Moon is waxing this week after the New Moon on the 9th, which is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, also with some exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details).
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs this week from Tuesday, February 6th, from approximately 7:15 AM EST, until Thursday, February 8th, at approximately 2:50 AM EST, while the Moon is in Capricorn. No planets are retrograde during this window, but the Moon is waning and, later, Balsamic. This is a time for wrapping things up.
Another window occurs from Saturday, February 10th, at approximately 10 PM EST, until Monday, February 12th, at approximately 7:30 AM EST, while the Moon is in Pisces. It’s a little too soon after the New Moon to be a solid period for a long-term effort, but can be used for short-term tasks.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus square Chiron. We can experience blocks to intimacy, learning from one another, and commitment. Insecurities on a social level can magnify. We have a hard time judging our needs and discerning what’s valuable.
Sun sextile Chiron. An opportunity to find a sense of purpose or a “mission” arises now, increasing our confidence. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and people is strong. We also want to see others thrive and encourage development, healthy choices, discovery, sincerity, healing, and openness. It’s an accepting, tolerant time. Problem-solving is in favor.
Mercury conjunct Pluto. Mental activity can be intense at this time. We may uncover valuable information or gain a new level of understanding. Thoughts, ideas, and communications are more intense and focused. We are more able–and motivated–to find hidden meanings and “cut to the chase.” In fact, we don’t accept things at face value now. Efficiency and relevancy become more important to us. Our minds are investigative and probing, and we may be bent on revealing truths. Our persuasive powers, strategic thinking, and observational skills increase. Still, we may also be suspicious, manipulative, obsessed, or we might be involved in frustrating mental battles if we mishandle this transit.
Venus trine Uranus. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements as well as financial undertakings. We are ready to experiment, but not ready to commit. Creative inspiration can be had. We have an offbeat, pleasant attitude and people are more willing to socialize. A good time for financial undertakings involving electronics, technology, the internet, metaphysics, and the arts, as well as group activities.
Mars sextile Neptune. Inspiration might be found now, and our intuition is strong. This influence favors dancing, swimming, photography, arts, entertainment. There can be letting go of anger, or a softening of the disposition now.
Sun square Uranus. We can’t expect much of anything when the Sun squares Uranus, except the unexpected! Disrupted routines and plans are in order, which help to stimulate the adoption of new approaches. During this transit, we feel the need for action, but if we don’t know where we’re headed, we might take the wrong turn. Unexpected changes in plans or events can test our patience, and we might feel a bit out of control. However, they could stimulate us to try new approaches and they certainly act to cut boredom. This transit could offer us the drive to do something new, but avoid making hasty major decisions for the time being.
Mercury square Jupiter. Information overload is possible today. It is all too easy to miss or neglect important details. We may exaggerate, have a hard time putting our ideas to practical use, or overstate under this influence. This is an unfavorable transit for travel. Our ideas and plans may be too grandiose just now. We could have a hard time convincing others of our point of view, and we could too easily jump to conclusions. There could be a lot of talk about nothing. Lack of clear mental focus, but we may make measurable progress if we can concentrate.
Venus semi-square Saturn. There may be difficulties relating to others under this influence. People may be cool with their affections and emotionally distant. Avoid new financial undertakings, as they may prove to be “money pits” as time passes. There may be anxiety or troubles with respect to matters concerned with the feelings. Romantic disappointments, unrequited love, separations, and broken engagements are the more difficult manifestations. We tend to lack social confidence at this time and adopt a shy, formal, or reserved social manner. It’s better to use this transit for reflection.

FEBRUARY 4
The Moon enters Sagittarius shortly into the day, at 1:28 AM EST, stirring a need for meaning, truth, and adventure. It’s a truth-seeking Moon transit. We may take a more philosophical approach to life now. A Mercury-Pallas sextile today furthers this theme. We’re expressing ourselves more clearly than usual. This transit brings out the ability to order our thoughts and ideas and recognize patterns. We can enjoy making plans, lists, associations, and connections now, and instructing or guiding comes naturally.
The Moon continues its void period today until it enters Sagittarius at 1:28 AM EST.
FEBRUARY 5
Mercury moves into the sign of Aquarius today, and it meets Pluto, bringing intense mental energy and focus to the day. Mercury will transit Aquarius until February 23rd, and during this cycle, we’re hungry for knowledge and open to new and original ideas. Our thinking is progressive and objective. We’re reasonable, finding it easier to separate intellect and emotion when assessing a situation. Our communication and thought patterns are spontaneous, somewhat fragmented, reasonable, objective, and liberal. This is a time when inventive thinking is at a peak. Although progressive-minded and receptive to new studies and information, we are not quick to sway from our ideas and beliefs. During this cycle, we take more interest in thinking that’s daring or original. As we envision a better future, we can come up with truly interesting ideas and concepts.
Mercury aligns with Pluto today, and we can be quite concerned with getting to the truth or the bottom of a matter, perhaps too insistently. We might uncover valuable information or gain insight into a topic that’s important to us–indeed, we’re more determined than usual to find solutions. It’s a time to unearth hidden meanings, although we may be obsessed, manipulative, or paranoid if this goes too far. Battles of words can ensue. News delivered now may have a darker tone, or we’re seeing the darker side of situations. Increased tension or worry may motivate us to make beneficial changes, however.
This morning, the Sun and Venus form a semi-sextile, and both bodies connect with Chiron. We may feel that our quest for pleasure, affection, love, or comfort is at odds with what we should be doing, which can lead to mild tension or feelings of guilt and, perhaps, some indecision. Circumstances can trigger the need to recognize and explore our feelings of vulnerability. Ideally, we gain a better understanding of our needs and goals and how they support or conflict with our need for independence and personal growth. The Moon spends the day in forward-looking, optimistic Sagittarius.
FEBRUARY 6
The Moon continues its transit of fiery Sagittarius until 7:09 AM EST, when it enters disciplined Capricorn. Saturn forms a quintile with Uranus today, and we gravitate to a balance between the new and the old, the tried-and-true and the progressive. This longer-term transit will connect again in September and November. We’re original without going out of our way to be off the wall. As we look for ways to improve, we have our feet on the ground. With this aspect in play, we pride ourselves on being calm and steady in the face of change.
Venus forms a square to the North Node of the Moon this morning, pointing to the possibility of a general lack of agreement, dissatisfaction, or a sense that our relationships are working counter to our growth. As such, it can be challenging to make a decision that we’re content with early today. Contrarily, the Sun harmonizes with the North Node of the Moon this afternoon, encouraging us to aspire to our goals and rise to a challenge. It’s a time to focus on the ways that our independence or life path goals reinforce us.
The Moon is void from 12:07 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:09 AM EST.
FEBRUARY 7
While the Moon spends the day in practical, cautious Capricorn, today’s Venus-Uranus trine encourages our bolder, more innovative natures, socially speaking. We are especially interested in all that is new, fresh, invigorating, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary regarding romantic involvements, entertainment or pleasures, and financial undertakings. We may be experimenting, improvising, and trying new ways of relating and expressing ourselves. We might discover alternative ways to make (or spend) money. Although detached, we’re freer with our feelings and find beauty in the unfamiliar or uncommon. A Mars-Neptune sextile is also in play, and we actively seek inspiration. Our intuitive guidance can be put to practical use, especially if it helps increase our sense of security. There can be the letting go of anger or a softening of the disposition now. We prefer to cooperate or go our own way than compete. We are also ready to act on our compassion, communicating our intentions through actions and gestures, and our intuition for making the right moves is strong. We might open up to unusual or alternative healing methods or the use of compassion and forgiveness for healing purposes. Creative arts can thrive.
FEBRUARY 8
This morning, the Sun forms a square to Uranus, which destabilizes some parts of our lives temporarily, or it can highlight problem areas that already exist. Changes we make now may feel out of character or abrupt. Disrupted routines and plans are likely, and while they can be unsettling at first, they can also stimulate the adoption of new approaches. Our strong desire for independence or to break the rules could impair our judgment. Even so, if we’re willing to learn from our mistakes, we might adopt a more mindful approach to making necessary changes. We should watch for irresponsibility in our rebellions and guard against temperamental behavior and decision-making. Disruptions can pull up buried frustrations, which we should probably examine more closely–it can certainly be a time to learn something new about ourselves. Consider that, on this day before a New Moon, it’s better to wind down, reflect, muse, and tie up loose ends than to push ahead with new beginnings. Ideally, we get a chance to recalibrate.
The Moon is void from 2:53 AM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Mars), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 9:00 AM EST.
FEBRUARY 9
Today’s New Moon occurs in the sign of Aquarius, and it motivates or prompts us to start fresh with friendship, group activities, social pursuits, group projects, happiness pursuits, trying something new, or humanitarian efforts. We’re looking to the future with new eyes, and we’re doing more brainstorming and socializing. It’s an excellent time to see the value of developing more objectivity and a bit of detachment. This lunation brings rebellious, impulsive, abrupt, and innovative energy to our lives. We can be particularly focused, determined, and concentrated but possibly overly stubborn or narrow in our focus. The Moon spends the day in earnest, friendly Aquarius.
The Moon is void from 6:00 PM EST, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to the Sun), until the Moon enters Pisces tomorrow, Saturday, February 10th, at 8:43 AM EST.
FEBRUARY 10
Mercury forms a square to Jupiter this morning, and we need room to explore and create, visualize new solutions to problems, and express ourselves freely. However, we are inclined to exaggerate or miss the bigger point. We should watch for a strong tendency to overstate or overestimate in our quest for meaning. Mental anxiety could manifest as we can swing from blind faith to doubt, making it difficult to make good, practical choices. We might also watch for scattering our energies or taking on too many activities at once–we could be looking so far ahead that we forget the essential details or disclaimers. We might waste our time on inconsequential matters. On the other hand, a minor square between Venus and Saturn suggests some diffidence in our interactions. With this transit, we can be cool with our sentiments and emotionally distant. Anxiety or troubles with our feelings and affections are likely. However, a Sun-Vesta trine helps ground us as the day advances. The need to dedicate ourselves to a project or cause is strong now. The Moon continues its transit of Aquarius until 8:43 AM EST, when it heads into Pisces.
The Moon continues its void period today until it enters Pisces at 8:43 AM EST.

Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
When the Moon is in Capricorn
We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.
The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
When the Moon is in Aquarius
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
When the Moon is in Pisces
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Aquarius This is a time when your path of self-development and expression becomes more and more unusual – setting you apart from the crowd and from all that is traditional. The new, the futuristic, the high-tech are the hallmarks of your lifestyle as the cycle gets underway. Ideas and technologies that change the way people live – not just one person, but many – are a major new focus in your life. Involvement with ideals and idealistic groups enhances your sense of purpose and mission.
Mercury in Capricorn Figuring out how to organize projects and people is apt to become a topic of special interest – and a challenge – at a time like this. Opinions are not enough for you now: they must be backed by authority or evidence, and above all they must have practical worth and application. A period of intense study and thought.
Mercury in Aquarius The tried and true doesn’t cut it anymore: it’s the new, the unique, and the original that catches and holds your interest now. Idealism, rationality, and critical thinking become more and more a part of your mental patterns and the way you communicate. You are inventive, original, high tech.
Mars in Capricorn With this new cycle taking hold in your life now, taking charge and being in control become more important issues for you. You want to get things organized, and you have the initiative to do it. This is a time of ambition and responsibility, a time to keep your cool and pace yourself. Working hard is smart, but working smart is better.
Jupiter in Taurus A kind of Midas touch is signaled by the new cycle now dawning in your life. Prosperity and security take center stage in your thoughts; a gentle but committed conservatism brings you all kinds of good things. Take care of the material things, and the spiritual will take care of itself: that’s your orientation now.
Saturn in Pisces Making peace with the past, coming to terms with karmic debts: these are some of the issues that confront you as a new phase begins in your life. Failure to face these things can cause setbacks and put obstacles in your path. Learn to look beyond the narrowly personal and selfish or you’ll get in over your head.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Aquarius Reform, revolution, a rejection of the past and a focus on the future: these are the signatures of the new phase now beginning in your life. Tradition becomes irrelevant, and the conventional wisdom is revealed as dogma or outright nonsense – and what’s the difference, really? Radical changes in all things social and intellectual.
