The Full MOON occurs on Friday, May 1st, 2026, at 1:23 PM EDT. 

On Friday afternoon, the Full Moon occurs when the Sun in Taurus forms an opposition to the Moon in Scorpio. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of what we started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.

The Taurus-Scorpio polarity deals with the balance between all that is mine (Taurus) and all that is yours (Scorpio). It also emphasizes the concept of form (Taurus) versus transformation (Scorpio).

While Taurus deals with matter, personal values, material goods, possessions, and security, Scorpio rules the destruction of form, shared possessions, change, and transformation. The Sun in Taurus encourages happiness with the simple, tangible things in life, while the Scorpio Moon draws our attention to complexities, intangibles, and mysteries.

Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, we should find a balance between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about emotional declarations.

Something has been building inside of us, likely of an intimate nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out.

Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this declaration means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings — we need to express them. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between collecting and sharing. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives.

However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as emotions burst forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not yet rationalized.

The Full Moon Chart:

This phase of the Moon occurs at 11 degrees and 21 minutes of Scorpio opposite the Sun at the same degree of Taurus, affecting people with personal planets and points at 7 to 15 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.

We are excited about making changes, but there can be some suspiciousness, fear of loss, or anxiety involved with our revelations now with the lunation square Pluto. These themes are on their way out–they’re in the rear-view mirror–but still impacting and informing our revelations.

This week: The Sun is in Taurus; Mercury is in Aries until May 2nd, when it enters Taurus; Venus is in Gemini; Mars is in Aries.

The Sun is in Taurus from April 19-May 20. In Taurus, the Sun is methodical, sensual, and receptive. The Sun in Taurus is most active when it is defending or resisting! As the Sun moves through Taurus when plants take root, our determination and security needs are strong. Taurus is loyal to all that is familiar and values longevity. The shadow side of Taurus is possessiveness and bullheadedness.

The Sun in Taurus is the connoisseur and sensualist. It’s patient, stubborn, earthy, stable, and rooted. The Sun-in-Taurus cycle is a good one for maintaining or building, as well as enjoying and appreciating what’s already in place. While the Taurus Sun is slow to warm up, it’s stable and persevering once it does. We value what’s long-term, strong, and lasting during this phase.

Mercury is in Aries from April 14-May 2. When Mercury is in Aries, we are less concerned with objective viewpoints and explanations, and more concerned with reaching a decision…quickly! Our thoughts and ideas are pioneering, and we tend to speak more spontaneously and directly with the planet of communication in bold and assertive Aries.

There can be quick, possibly impatient or hurried, decisions during this cycle, and our responses are similar: quick and perhaps defensive or combative. We value independent thought, and we can be mentally competitive. executive decisions. We prefer to learn through personal experience, not instruction.

Mercury is in Taurus from May 2-17. When Mercury is in Taurus, our thinking is down to earth, solid, and grounded. Common sense reigns over more fanciful thinking. We communicate more deliberately under this influence, and our minds are oriented to the world of the five senses. We prefer the tried and true rather than new ways of thinking.

Attention to one thing at a time can simplify our lives, but we may be in danger of narrow, overly conservative, or rigid thinking. It’s a time of practical intelligence and comfortably-paced decisions and thought processes. We’re capable of (and content with) rote, routine, deliberate, or monotonous work and methods.

Venus is in Gemini from April 24-May 18. With Venus in Gemini, we have a finger in every pie. Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels. “Variety is the spice of life” is the motto now. We are friendly, communicative, charming, and interested.

While it’s a time when we can be animated and fun, we may also keep our distance on an emotional level. Attractions often begin with words, as we tend to bond more readily on a mental level while Venus is in Gemini. We’re most attracted to mentally interesting people. Sometimes, our curiosity leads us into relationships that we might not form otherwise. The shadow side of Gemini is fickleness or disinterest in profundity.

Venus in Gemini is flirtatious, captivating, and adaptable. We ask questions and want to keep things light and lively. During this transit, we do best when we’re mentally engaged and our desire for variety is addressed. Social stimulation is appealing. Good fortune with transportation and communication can figure strongly.

Mars is in Aries from April 9-May 18. Mars feels at home in Aries, one of the signs that it rules, and therefore its power is boosted. Our energy is spontaneous, forward-looking, and even courageous under this influence. Our competitive spirit is well-developed, and our goal is to win! We are active, single-minded, and confident.

Our actions are direct–we instinctively find the fastest way to get from point A to point B. The shadow side of Mars in Aries is a tendency to be impatient, arrogant, impulsive, short-lived, unreflective, and self-centered.

We pursue our goals straightforwardly, confidently, unabashedly, and directly with Mars in Aries. The same goes for expressing anger. We want to be first, come first, and do things on our own–our independence, enterprise, and initiative are well-developed.

This transit is better for endeavors that require courage and strong but not necessarily sustained passion and energy. We don’t want to look back or overthink–we only concern ourselves with what we can accomplish right now. Not inclined to beat around the bush, we confidently pursue our desires.

Romance & Relationships

Venus is in Gemini from April 24-May 18. In Gemini, Venus is communicative, sociable but emotionally aloof, insatiably curious, and a little bit flighty. Fickleness with our affections is a strong possibility, but the desire for a meeting of minds is strong and the urge to socialize dominates.

Some detachment from our emotions is likely, which may be a breath of fresh air for some. The lines of communication open, although we may only scratch the surface of things. Under this influence, love is playful and lighthearted. Fickleness is the shadow side of Venus in Gemini.

This week: On Sunday, while we’re not necessarily saying the right things, we’re ready to grow through our missteps or through awkward moments. This day holds magical energy for love and pleasure, even with some tendency to say the “wrong” things. We treat lovers with more tenderness or we see them in a more sensitive, obliging light. Certainly, we’re particularly open to romance and sensitive to others’ needs and backstories. We see the very best in people now, which eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships.

On Tuesday, our willingness to go “all in” can improve a key relationship. Strong attractions and powerful feelings are likely. Wednesday is tricky, however, as we may be working at cross-purposes with our relationships or relationship goals. There can be a lack of agreement, dissatisfaction, and concerns if our relationships are preventing our growth.

On Thursday and Friday, we’re ready to take steps to achieve our relationship goals. We’re in great shape for showing our love through our actions, commitment, and reliability or loyalty.

Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:

Venus in Gemini Saying (or writing) it with style comes natural now. A yen for variety is a hallmark of this phase, and this especially applies to romantic experience and artistic tastes. (The latter tends to focus on literature in general and poetry in particular.) A sociable, congenial, slightly frivolous orientation sets in.

Venus conjunct Uranus April 23. We have a taste for the unusual and the avant garde. We are itching for a change. What makes a person unique is more attractive under this influence. Excitement and newness are valued over permanence in social relationships. Freedom is more important than intimacy just now. We lose our fears of taking risks in love and social situations. Romantic infatuations, gossip, unanticipated opportunities socially or financially. We have a greater need for self-expression, personal freedom, and social excitement.

Venus semi-square Mercury April 25-26. Communications between lovers are superficial and unsatisfying, and perhaps awkward. Superficiality in romantic expression may exist now.

Venus sextile Neptune April 26. Unusual attractions that add imagination, inspiration, and emotional “color” to our lives may occur now. We are attuned to the subtleties of human interaction, and we are more inclined to naturally cooperate with others. An imaginative, romantic time.

Venus semi-square Jupiter April 26. We experience a strong desire for more pleasure in our lives, which can be excessive. Take care not to overstate your feelings or to set up unrealistic expectations in your partnerships.

Venus trine Pluto April 28. Powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships. New insights into relationships and love. Strong attractions. Relationships are intense and deep, but not draining.

Venus square North Node of the Moon April 29. Social niceties fall by the wayside, and we may be working at cross-purposes with our relationships or relationship goals. There can be a lack of agreement, dissatisfaction, and a sense that our relationships are preventing our growth.

Venus parallel Jupiter April 30. We are charitable with others and have a stronger desire than usual to find meaning in our relationships. There may be some overstating or overindulgence now, however.

Venus sextile Saturn May 1. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. A new sense of realism in existing partnerships. Relationships begun under this influence possess a distinctly practical theme, almost as if the partnership is a business endeavor.

Venus semi-square Chiron May 4. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves.

Mercury semi-square Venus. Difficulties in social or romantic communication are possible today. On the other hand, we may make more efforts to be polite and to communicate. Hypersensitivity, and lack of mental discipline. Our minds wander.

Venus sextile Neptune. We are more imaginative and attuned to the world of beauty and romance today. We see the best in people and situations, and we might maneuver things to support this perception. Gentleness with others is the best way to harness this energy. A “magical” time on a romantic and social level is possible now.

Mercury square Jupiter. Information overload is possible today. It is all too easy to miss or neglect important details. We may exaggerate, have a hard time putting our ideas to practical use, or overstate under this influence. This is an unfavorable transit for travel. Our ideas and plans may be too grandiose just now. We could have a hard time convincing others of our point of view, and we could too easily jump to conclusions. There could be a lot of talk about nothing. Lack of clear mental focus, but we may make measurable progress if we can concentrate.

Venus semi-square Jupiter. We might take great strides to get noticed. Avoid impulsive buying. Problems in our personal life likely won’t get resolved under this influence. Avoid hasty (or haughty!) decisions. We might overstate our feelings or promise more than we can deliver, and the tendency to overdo is strong.

Venus trine Pluto. An excellent time for finances and for relationships, all things equal. Our feelings are intense and impassioned, but not in an offensive or destructive way. The need to share on deeper levels is strong now. A spiritual regeneration through love is possible.

Mars semi-square Uranus. A tendency to take risks, to feel restless, to act on sudden impulses without considering consequences. There may be changes in work schedules, or life’s circumstances could challenge us in such a way that we need to change our goals or actions.

Venus sextile Saturn. Affections stabilize and mature. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. A new sense of realism in existing partnerships comes now. Small advances can be made in business and in partnerships. Support from older people or authority figures may come by way of solid advice or tangible help. Renewed ties to old friends are possible, or a new sense of responsibility in existing friendships.

Mercury conjunct Chiron. Our intuitive understanding increases. This influence can stimulate us to open our minds and to learn from circumstances and from others. Sudden awareness spurs us to grow and improve. We are also more open to new ways of looking at problems or at life in general. There may be some hyper-sensitivity to what is communicated now, however.

Today’s astrology is busy. Mercury squares Jupiter and semi-squares Venus today, while Venus also semi-squares Jupiter (Venus is at the midpoint of the Mercury-Jupiter square). Venus harmonizes with Neptune, and the Sun forms a quintile with Jupiter. Today’s Virgo Moon brings busy, helpful energy.

We’re mentally stimulated and enthusiastic, and we’re inclined to want to convince others of our ideas, make a point, and impact others with what we say. Intimate, notable discussions are possible now, even with some potential to overstate. However, we can also be frustrated with communications or how they’re delivered. We need room to explore and create, visualize new solutions to problems, and express ourselves freely.
Still, we are inclined to exaggerate or miss the bigger point in spots today. We should be mindful of a strong tendency to overstate or overestimate in our pursuit of meaning. Mental anxiety could manifest as we can swing from blind faith to doubt, making it difficult to make good, practical choices. We might also watch for scattering our energies or taking on too many activities at once–we could be looking so far ahead that we forget the important details or disclaimers. We might waste our time on inconsequential matters.

Minor misunderstandings, miscalculations, or indecision can be themes. It’s not easy to concentrate or connect with our hearts. There can be minor but irritating disconnects as we either rationalize our feelings or emotionalize our observations. But while the Mercury-Venus semi-square is socially awkward, today’s Venus-Neptune sextile is forgiving, softening our interactions. With this influence, we want to see the best in people and situations. We tend to approach one another more gently and sensitively. We see the spiritual dimensions of our relationships and aim to treat others with increased compassion. This influence encourages us to open up and embrace loving feelings. It also detaches us just enough from our feelings that we’re less possessive.

APRIL 27

The Moon spends the day in particular, helpful, service-oriented Virgo. With this transit, we’re especially aware of the parts that make a whole. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, creating order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into stronger focus. The Moon harmonizes with Jupiter this morning, stirring our need to improve, grow, and thrive. As well, the Sun harmonizes with the Moon’s Nodes, encouraging us to aspire to our goals and rise to a challenge. It’s time to focus on the ways our attention to compassion, spirituality, or service goals reinforces us. We’re in good shape for strengthening and supporting one another and, in the process, building trust.

The Moon is void from 7:12 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Libra the next day, Tuesday, April 28th, at 5:03 AM EDT.

APRIL 28

The Moon continues its transit of Virgo only until 5:03 AM EDT, when it heads into Libra. While the Moon’s oppositions to Neptune and Saturn today can be disorienting and tense, we’re tapping into our resourcefulness and our determination to make things work. With the Libra Moon, we’re willing to meet people halfway. The Moon also hooks into the energy of today’s Venus-Pluto trine, and we can feel happily passionate and focused on a person, situation, connection, or project. The need to share or enjoy life on more profound levels is pleasantly intense. This trine helps us connect with what we love and cherish. We might narrow our focus to our advantage, or we seek to grow, improve, or develop our attachments. Recognizing the value of patience, we become more strategic and are more likely to gain new insights into business and personal relationships.

When the Moon is in Virgo

We instinctually gravitate towards practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. Health matters might come into focus. We notice the smaller parts that make up the whole, and instead of letting nagging details bother us, we might work on ironing them out so that we can feel more confident moving ahead.

The Moon in Virgo generally favors the following activities: Mental pursuits, work activities, services, and routines. Activities that would benefit from tending to details.

When the Moon is in Libra

Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.

The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.

When the Moon is in Scorpio

 Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.

The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
