Void of Course Dates this Month
The New Moon on the 5th is an annular Solar Eclipse in the Saturn-ruled sign of Capricorn. Public life, career, reputation, achievement, and accountability are themes and subject to new beginnings. This eclipse awakens our ambitions, sense of time/limits, and need for order. It offers us the opportunity to set practical, attainable goals, work on developing maturity and common sense, consider and prepare for the future, work on self-discipline, and recognize our responsibilities. We may be called to give up something in order to move forward into a new chapter in our lives. We might need to work hard to achieve our goals, and possibly face some roadblocks along the way.
Uranus turns direct on the 6th after five months of retrograde motion. As Uranus gains speed in the coming weeks, our urge to express ourselves uniquely, to take some chances or risks, to rebel, to listen to our own instincts, and to stir up change are re-awakened. We begin to see clearly that we can make changes – that we are not always victims of changes thrust upon us.
On the 13th, Jupiter forms a square to Neptune — the first in a set of three aspects, with the other two set to occur in June and September — and suggests a struggle with our expectations, faith, and dreams. We may be misled easily under this influence, whether by others or by our own unrealistic or inflated expectations. We may need to deal with the consequences of disorganization, extravagance, neglect, or exaggeration. The tendency for restlessness is magnified, and routine seems to be particularly unsatisfying now. This is a time when we easily take a detour from a practical path. It can also be a time when we are disillusioned by something (or someone). We need to watch carefully for a tendency to evade and avoid things, as well as for writing ourselves new beliefs or philosophies that justify this avoidance. There can be a lot of wandering, meandering, and lack of groundedness happening with this influence. We might have troubles setting boundaries for ourselves. There is a need to come down to earth from time to time. Some routines, discipline, regularity, and rhythms should be enforced to counteract this tendency. Spiritual inspiration is a potential, however, as we shed false beliefs, expectations, and paths. Along the same timeline, Jupiter forms a minor challenging aspect to Uranus, reinforcing feelings of restlessness if our dreams are no longer fulfilling or inspiring us. Watch for impractical ventures and unusual tangents with weak staying power.
On the 21st, the Full Moon occurs in the sign of Leo (in the first degree) and is a total Lunar Eclipse. This is the last eclipse in a set of eclipses falling along the Leo/Aquarius axis, and can stimulate a crisis of lack — a time when we suddenly realize a great need or want. This is a time when matters come to light that have been brewing under the surface. Full Moons are always good for magnifying pre-existing problems so that we can see where to bring back balance. With the Leo-Aquarius axis involved, our larger work should be on reaching a good balance between focus on personal enjoyment and our need for community and altruism. Enlightenment now provides us with a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs, which can ultimately lead to positive actions and decisions. There can be a heightened awareness of flaws in our romantic relationships, relationships with children, and creative activities. There can also be an urgent or sudden need/desire to express ourselves, and a strong compulsion to come to a resolution of a problem. There can be final word or final decisions now.
On the 31st, another outer planet transit that influences much of 2019 is exact: Saturn sextile Neptune. Saturn’s discipline can help bring structure or meaning to our dreams and ideals. At the same time, Neptune’s acceptance and devotion can help bring new meaning to our work, traditions, and customs. It’s easier to enjoy a sense of purpose in our lives with this influence. We can feel as if our spiritual and material goals harmonize. Circumstances and our own attitudes facilitate following through on our dreams or turning our visions and ideals into reality. Combining imagination and effort is successful now. There can be a sense that our dreams are realizable, and we can build stronger faith and acceptance.
