2015: Virgo Horoscope: Love, Career, & General Trends
2015 Overview for all Virgos.
2015 continues to emphasize behind-the-scenes work and service, as well as new insights into your deeper nature, dear Virgo. However, by September, you’re ready to share yourself with others, and they receive you very warmly. In fact, there can be a blast of popularity in the last four months of the year and extending into 2016.
The year ahead is about healing and getting into better touch with your innermost needs and wants, after which your confidence builds to the point that you can put your self-realizations into action. People begin to really “see” you, enjoy your presence, and want more! Being around you makes others feel good.
An interesting combination is with you in 2015: Jupiter, ruler of your home, family, and personal life, moves into your sign from August 11th forward, stimulating your confidence, a love of freedom, and your desire to really experience life in new ways. Much of the year, responsible and restrictive Saturn transits Jupiter’s sign, Sagittarius, and the same sector that Jupiter rules. So, while you’re busy expanding, learning, connecting, and engaging, you’re also doing important work on your self-image, foundations, and domestic life that involves pruning, simplifying, and structuring. This is not the easiest of Saturn transits, but it may very well tame the more excessive, over-the-top, and wasteful tendencies of Jupiter’s transit in your sign. It may be one of the tamer Jupiter transits to your sign in your life time (there is a year-long Jupiter transit to your sign every 12 years or so), but perhaps a more balanced one as well.
There can be a lot of focus on serving the family again this year, but there will be distinct periods in 2015 when the family also serve you, give back, and help you out. There can be changes with parents, children, support, and home life that are significant, but these involve both challenges and rewards, setbacks and advances.
In the first half of the year, find the time for rest, reflection, and healing as much as is healthy for you. Connect with your spiritual needs and take advantage of any opportunity to learn about what attitudes you’ve been wearing that have prevented you from pursuing your own happiness and life experience. We often feel guilty without knowing fully why, and Virgos tend to have this problem more than most. This is a time for discovering irrational feelings of guilt and working on ridding yourself of them. This is a time for giving back in areas that you’ve felt indebted or unbalanced, and for spiritual self-renewal. Ideally, you’ll discover what has been holding you back from enjoying life, and then take this lesson forward as you pursue your dreams.
Jupiter moving into your sign mid-August certainly nudges you forward, but retrograde Venus from July 25-Septemer 6 can point to more inner work. The Solar Eclipse mid-September in your own sign will give you a nice push. You’ll have a sense that you are able to start fresh. In October and November, you’re raring to go with Venus and Mars in your sign, highlighting your uniquely appealing traits and stimulating your drive and energy levels. You also benefit from a powerful transit beginning in October that stimulates your desire to express yourself in new, transformed ways. You will be finding yourself, and your voice, through creative projects and communication channels. While this period is more about you and your personality, romantic expression reaches new heights as well. Children may be thriving as previous obstacles are overcome. From September forward, pressures on learning, schooling, and producing are lessened considerably.
This is a time when you are seeing opportunities where you previously saw obstacles. You are less guarded about what you say and do, and thus feel freer to express yourself.
Your love life continues to be on the tumultuous side, and while the last few months of the year are strong for you personally, from November forward, both easy and challenging energy is with you for love relationships and business partnerships, if applicable. There can be problems stemming from family that weigh heavily on love matters. Watch that a relationship doesn’t become so draining and demanding that other areas of life suffer. Draw some boundaries and look out for yourself.
Working towards more financial independence continues to be important this year, and is easier than it was for most of 2014.
Mercury retrograde periods, generally three per year, are times for catching your breath, looking at your life and projects a little more critically, and making important edits. In 2015, these occur from January 21-February 11, May 18-June 11, and September 17-October 9. Other important dates to watch for include May 3-19 and June 6-23 when actions and communications that are too impulsive or over-the-top can negatively impact your reputation or career. These need not be difficult, and in fact some of your impulses may be genius on some level if you’ve lacked courage to make important changes, but it’s important to think twice at these times. Check with what’s in your heart before taking action and speaking out. Take full advantage of a powerful lineup of planets in your sign that boost personal appeal in mid-October to early November. Full overview.
2015 Details.
Until August 11th, Jupiter continues to move through your solar twelfth house. During this Jupiter cycle, you may enjoy benefits to activities that take place “behind the scenes” or otherwise privately, as well as in the soul. This is a cycle in which you become more compassionate, empathetic, and sensitive, or get in deeper touch with these traits.
Jupiter in the twelfth house is said to offer one spiritual protection. This is a time when you can rid yourself of self-destructive tendencies, deep-seated fears, and deeply-ingrained tendencies towards guilty feelings. You are more able to get in touch with your subconscious mind, and in fact, confronting your fears can be quite pleasurable during this period.
Charity, giving/donating anonymously, volunteering, and helping others without expectation of reward will be most fulfilling during this cycle. Helping others actually helps you. Work that involves serving others may begin now and bring you much joy.
Your dreaming world may be especially rich, lighter, helpful, and more intuitive. Meditation and retreats may be particularly helpful to you now, as they regenerate and invigorate your spirit. Much pleasure and growth might be found in solitude and contemplation. You may pick up New Age studies, spirituality, dream interpretation, or research during this cycle. Some people enter into a private romance during this cycle. In general, help seems to be there when you need it. You are building or rebuilding your inner faith now.
These positive circumstances won’t necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life. There may be some sacrifices required in your family life, or your domestic life can be especially private.
Jupiter’s influence is generally considered positive, and it is, ultimately. However, it acts to magnify the area of the chart that it affects, and at times it can be uncomfortable if you are having difficulties in this area. In your case, if you are lonely or if you feel helpless, and if you have troubles facing your past, then this influence can heighten these issues. Ultimately, it’s for the good. The cosmos asks you now to surrender some of your attachments, and to surrender to the unknown. Releasing control is necessary. Building your faith is the work you are doing now. While your tendency is to play a supportive role to others, if taken too far, you will need to draw some boundaries when it comes to your energy and time.
Your perceptions heighten, and in fact, intuition is extremely reliable now. Your ability to make sacrifices for others increases, and you might build your confidence in yourself as you help and support others. September forward is especially strong for strengthening love ties as well as getting into better touch with your inner world and deeper feelings.
The most favorable periods for these matters occur while Jupiter is in direct motion in your solar twelfth house, from April 8th to August 11th.
From August 11th forward, Jupiter transits your solar first house. During this exciting cycle that lasts until September 2016, and that occurs only every twelve years or so, you can enjoy significant improvements to your immediate environment and self-confidence, as well as increased generosity to your personality. Your personality is more obviously expansive, exuberant, and enthusiastic. This transit heightens your optimism and generosity, and the entire cycle has the potential for being a relaxed, fortunate, and hopeful time in your life.
You are greeting life with a fresh, can-do attitude. What happened in the past is not very important to you now – it’s the future you’re eyeing now. Events occur that help you to overcome problems that previously seemed challenging or even insurmountable – you have an altogether different perspective on life now, and are not inclined much to sweat the small stuff.
You create a distinct first impression on others, and your likeability increases. People thoroughly enjoy being around you, not because of what you do, but because of who you are. Furthering your personal ambitions and interests comes more easily during this cycle. At times, you may feel like the sky is the limit! You might need to guard against becoming too full of yourself or overly self-interested, however. There is also a risk of overindulgence and other forms of excessive behavior. Jupiter can bring endings into your life in order for you to grow, although these are generally easy ones. A carefree attitude is different than a careless one, and the fine line between the two is definitely something to consider.
You feel considerably freer to be yourself right now, and others tend to accept you more readily. These positive circumstances won’t necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once, although they are more likely due to Jupiter’s direct influence on your life. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life, and always watch for overdoing things or carelessness.
Expanding your horizons through higher learning or travel might also figure strongly. This is a time for aligning your behavior with what you believe is right. You are taking more “me” time, which is in fact long overdue.
This is also a strong time for family and home life. Some of you could be especially proud of your role in the family, or you could be feeling supported and backed by your loved ones. This comes at the same time as the beginning of a Saturn transit to your home and family sector, so that there may be some restrictions on the homefront as well. There is generally good energy for bringing more structure and simplicity to the family and home now.
You are seeking out a new beginning – a fresh start, of sorts – and your desire to do right is especially strong. Work or projects that you have been working on in private or behind the scenes may now begin to pay off. There is less focus on serving and helping others now, perhaps because this is no longer as necessary (for example, a child can go off to college, or even the end of a relationship that took up a lot of your energy and resources, for which you are now enjoying some level of freedom from), and now you can put some of your personal interests on the front burner.
During this cycle, others seem to be appreciating the very qualities that come most naturally to you. You attract the most good fortune when you are helpful, honest, orderly, and paying attention to details. The service industries, nutrition, and health are prosperous avenues. Practical and technical knowledge and skills are most valued. You are a practical realist who needs to visualize results in order to feel motivated to achieve them. You are a “doer” who is not easily lured by get rich quick schemes. You need direction, clear goals, and strong plans, and you value tangible results.
The most favorable periods for these matters occur while Jupiter is in direct motion in your solar first house, from August 11, 2015 to January 7, 2016 and then May 9 to September 9, 2016. (This transit lasts until September 2016).
Jupiter transits conjunct your Sun/Ascendant from August 11-September 26. This is a feel-good transit that offers you opportunities to rise above petty concerns. It’s an excellent time to start new long-term projects. You might find that you feel more vital, confident, and optimistic about the future at this time. It’s a good time to resolve conflicts. You may be released from previously confining situations that have been stunting your growth or progress. Events may give your ego a boost, and you could be feeling quite vital and alive. Take advantage of this by promoting yourself or putting yourself “out there”. Ego gratification is the theme of this transit. This is the start of a “new you” – a more confident and faithful person.
Saturn transits your solar fourth house until June 14th and then from September 17th forward (until December 2017). This transit began in December 2014 and runs until December 2017 (with the exception of this summer, June 14-September 17, 2015). It’s typically felt most strongly in the first year of its influence – for you, that will be this year!
Saturn here urges you to get serious about home, family, and domestic concerns. You are building your nest, not in a “plumping your nest” sort of way. In fact, you may be stripping some things away – perhaps even downsizing or de-cluttering – and adding structure to your domestic life.
You face issues surrounding your attachments to the past. Sometimes this manifests as literal re-organization of your home. Moving house is not always associated with this transit as it would if, for example, Uranus was the transiting planet. If moves are made, you might encounter some resistance in yourself or the move might be a source of stress and worry. In some cases, it’s a move that helps structure your life, and there may be downsizing involved.
This may not be a time when you feel particularly brave in the outer world. However, reorganization in your home, and more importantly, in your soul, embodies the true nature of this transit. Many will go through a major “spring cleaning” inside. Limitations that came from early family conditioning will be brought to the fore. At first, there may be some frustration with your life to date, and how you have limited your opportunities because of early conditioning. A feeling of being alone and unsupported in life may dominate now for some. You may experience some distancing, additional responsibilities, or frustrations regarding your parents. Family obligations may seem to get in the way of your experience of pleasure and of the achievement of your personal goals. There may be some emotional distancing as well in your home. Your current living conditions may feel restrictive, limiting, too small or cramped (physically and/or emotionally). Delays and slowdowns may be experienced in the areas of health, mobility, and career. However, all of these things occur in order that you face your responsibilities, become more self-sufficient, and more organized. Ultimately, you are learning to rely on yourself and to take care of things that you may have previously neglected but that have undermined your confidence in yourself and in your life. The more acute elements of this transit are experienced this year, after which you are likely to become more comfortable with the energy.
The responsibilities and demands of domestic life can run high. There can be a feeling that others are not as sympathetic to you, or that they leave you alone to your own defenses during this period. In truth, you are learning how to stand on your own two feet, as well as to meet your responsibilities and to fix whatever it is that you have let slide in the past. At the end of this cycle, you’ll have built a stronger foundation. You’ll see yourself and your family more clearly, and your expectations will be more realistic as a result. You can be filled with desire, or circumstances create a need, for more structure in your home life.
Jupiter in your sign from mid-August forward can significantly lighten burdens in these areas, however.
This is also a time for the very beginnings of a business project for some, and especially for those with a Virgo Ascendant. This is a career building stage. It’s vital that you get your home and personal life into order so that you can move forward feeling rooted and secure.
Saturn finishes its transit of your solar third house from June 14-September 17. This transit that began in October 2012 ended in December 2014, but resumes and finishes up from June 2015 to September 2015.
You are more productive, with a responsible and sometimes even somber outlook during this period. Although you have a desire to make contacts, you are now rather preoccupied with learning or producing, and you may view idle chit-chat as a waste of time. You could feel an unusual pressure to structure your time and effort, and to cut out communication that seems unnecessary. You are more able to accomplish something solid this year. You may at times feel rather overwhelmed by such things as errands, red tape, and other such day-to-day “disruptions”.
There is a great need now to structure your life by way of schedules, managing daily details and your time more effectively. There can be some problems with local transportation — getting from point A to point B. There can be some restlessness or an urge to get out and about, but you might feel weighed down by your daily responsibilities. However, this is also a time of increased practicality and esteem. You are more reliable than usual. You are learning to procrastinate less.
By the end of the transit mid-September, you will have ideally gained a greater depth of understanding, having focused on information and communication that you really can use to feel more effective in the world.
The acute elements of this transit have already passed for your Virgo group – this summer, you are finishing and tidying things up in these areas of your life. This is a time for resolving these matters. After mid-September this year, Saturn won’t return to this area of your chart for another 29 years.
Uranus continues to transit your solar eighth house this year. There could be some ambiguities or unexpected happenings surrounding money that are part of your life but that don’t originate from your own income. This includes such things as shared resources with a close partner, alimony, taxes, loans, and so forth. At times, this could throw you off balance. This position could also indicate a period of uncertainty surrounding your intimate relationships, and/or some experimentation with your sexuality.
You will be learning a lesson in detachment during this cycle – sudden changes in the support you receive from others can force you to become more independent financially. Prepare yourself for fluctuations by settling as many debts as you can. Watch for gambling or risk-taking with money (and a partner who may be doing same).
The more acute elements of this transit have already been experienced before 2015 for your decan of Virgo.
Neptune begins or continues its lengthy transit through your solar seventh house this year, casting some “fog” over your partnerships. You may be meeting evasiveness in a partner or potential mates. A more accepting or spiritual approach to partnerships is what you are moving towards, but there can be some confusion and possibly disillusionment in the process. It can be hard to pin down a partner to a solid commitment. Or, you may begin to attract Neptunian people into your life–at best, they can be compassionate, artistic, or spiritual types. At the other end of the spectrum, they can be elusive, evasive, or downright deceptive. You could struggle somewhat with your own expectations in partnerships. Self-deception may very well be in play, and when others don’t quite measure up to these expectations, disappointments occur. Do your best to see people for who they are rather than what you’d really like them to be. Your own goals could be confusing, and your energy levels could swing quite dramatically at times, perhaps reflecting this inner confusion. A more spiritual approach to your life is in order, and this Neptune transit calls upon you to detach yourself from some of your more worldly and materialistic goals. For those born August 23-30 or with a Virgo Ascendant of 0-7 degrees, Neptune continues to transit your solar seventh house, and all of these things apply, except with less intensity, as you’ve already experienced the more acute elements of this transit.
Pluto continues its lengthy transit of your solar fifth house this year. This extremely long-term transit brings gradual but deep changes in attitudes towards love affairs, creativity, hobbies, recreation, children, and entertainment. You might feel that your affections and interests have been turned inside out or upside down – that on some levels, you are no longer the same person. Expectations transform again this year. Intensity and passion are craved now, and mediocre will no longer do.
Mercury, your ruler, travels quickly through the signs, covering a lot of ground in any given year. When Mercury is in your own sign, more power to you. In 2015, this occurs from August 7-27. Even so, Venus is retrograde during this period, so while you’re strong when it comes to decisions about personal goals at this time, love and money matters require some backtracking.
Mercury’s retrograde periods are natural times for reflection, reassessment, and introspection, and these occur in 2015 from January 21-February 11, May 18-June 11, and September 17-October 9. Occurring all in Air signs and your practical/material sectors, these periods require reassessing your financial and professional affairs.
The North Node of the Moon is transiting your solar second house until October-November, and this suggests that some of the greatest joys – and challenges – come through learning about your values and self-worth. Personal income, possessions, and values are in strong focus. You need to learn to depend on yourself and to establish your self-worth through your own efforts. The North Node transits your solar first house from October-November forward, and this suggests that some of the greatest joys – and challenges – come through learning about your independence, personal courage, and effectiveness. You are learning to overcome any existing fears of trusting your own instincts or going it alone.
Eclipses in 2015 fall in your second and eighth houses, and in your first and seventh houses. Some drama with regards to a spouse’s income, or your taxes and investments, may occur on a mundane level. It may be time to settle some of your debts, financial or otherwise. What makes you feel comfortable and secure needs to be balanced with attention to other people’s needs and comfort levels. Shuffling around your finances is likely this year. You might find others are supporting you financially, but you need to avoid creating dependencies that will put you back where you started. Alternatively, you could be having a difficult time with these things, prompting you to make special attempts to secure your own income.
Issues of personal courage, confidence, and independence come to the fore this year as well. You may, for example, experience an increased drive to take charge of your life. Issues surrounding personal appearance, the body, and your image become especially important and, in some cases, critical. Basically, you will be learning to stand on your own two feet! Partnerships may be tested, but there is nothing to fear if the relationship is strong. The seventh house represents an important one-to-one relationship–a marriage partner, significant other, business partner, or an adversary. It’s time to strike a balance between your own needs and those of another.
In 2015, your finances are evolving in important ways. You will be called upon to strike a balance between your own needs for security and comfort and the same needs of other people, such as those of a significant other. You are learning to ask for what you deserve, and to take charge of your earnings. With the North Node moving through your finance sector most of the year (until October-November), you are called upon to take charge of your resources.
As well, and especially in the last quarter of the year, your personality and your partnerships evolve in important ways. Your definitions of “me” and “you” are transforming. Issues of personal courage, confidence, and independence come to the fore. Personal appearance, your body, and your image become especially important. For some, marriage or divorce will be an issue. For most, carving out a personal identity that includes a significant other who furthers their own personal growth will come into strong focus. The North Node in your own sign from October-November forward points to a real need to learn how to rely on yourself, which ultimately will bring you joy and opportunity. Work on balance between independence and partnership, particularly around the eclipses in March (partnership eclipse) and September (personality eclipse).
