2011: Aries Horoscope: Love, Career, & General Trends
2011 Overview for All Aries. 2011 is sure to whip by for you, dear Aries. Life seems to be speeding up, just enough for you to take some personal risks and to make important, if not ground-breaking, changes. Jupiter and Uranus settle in to your sign this year, and both stimulate the urge for freedom and push you out of your regular routine, in different ways. Relationship tests continue this year. If an existing partnership is no longer serving you well, or if a potential partnership doesn’t cut the mustard, you may feel that you’d rather not have any. Some of you will endure stresses and challenges in a partnership, and that relationship comes out stronger. Single Aries are less likely to enter a new partnership. If they do, they do so cautiously, or only if the relationship appears solid and mature. Pluto continues to put pressure on your career goals and reputation. Are you being as responsible as you should be? If not, then changes are necessary. You are more accountable for your actions, and some of you may question whether a particular career path is a true reflection of you. From January to June, Jupiter, the planet of plenty, moves through your sign, and you have confidence on your side. You don’t much care for being tied down or restricted. Certainly, you’re being pulled in many directions, particularly in February and March, with major outer planets in strong aspect to your sign in 2011. From June forward, Aries, a shift occurs that has you knowing your value and attracting more money or possessions into your life. From July to October, especially, many of you will enjoy a pay increase and/or more recognition for your capabilities. You are valued, act like you deserve to be valued, and as a result, attract better fortune. This may not fall into your lap – you’re likely to work hard for it. Uranus, the planet of change, is in your sign from March forward (in fact, until 2019!), encouraging you to detach yourself from certain elements of your past so that you can start fresh, in pursuit of a lifestyle that is more authentic. When Uranus first stimulates your Sun or Ascendant, you could find that you’re acting out – rebelling, even. As you become more accustomed to its energy, you are more active than reactive. The plus side of this influence is that you feel fresher, more energetic, younger, and more expressive. You are able to free yourself from limiting situations and attitudes. Do be careful, however, that you don’t alienate others with a self-centered, defensive attitude. The effects of change agent Uranus in 2011 will be felt most by those of you born March 21-26.
2011 Details.
Jupiter entering Aries on January 22nd puts this planet of growth and expansion in your solar first house. From January 22nd until June 4th, this transit brings improvements to your immediate environment and self-confidence as well as increased generosity to your personality. Your personality is more obviously expansive, exuberant, and enthusiastic. This transit heightens your optimism and generosity, and the entire cycle has the potential for being a relaxed, fortunate, and hopeful time in your life. You are greeting life with a fresh, can-do attitude. What happened in the past is not very important to you now–it’s the future you’re eyeing now. Events occur that help you to overcome problems that previously seemed challenging or even insurmountable–you have an altogether different perspective on life now, and are not inclined much to sweat the small stuff. You create a distinct first impression on others, and your likeability increases. Furthering your personal ambitions and interests comes more easily during this cycle. At times, you may feel like the sky is the limit! You might need to guard against becoming too full of yourself or overly self-interested, however. There is also a risk of overindulgence and other forms of excessive behavior. Jupiter can bring endings into your life in order for you to grow, although these are generally easy ones. A carefree attitude is different than a careless one, and the fine line between the two is definitely something to watch for. You feel considerably freer to be yourself, and others tend to accept you more readily. These positive circumstances won’t necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once, although they are more likely due to Jupiter’s direct influence on your life. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life, and always watch for overdoing things or carelessness.
From June 4th forward, Jupiter is moving through your solar second house. During this cycle, you are likely to see and enjoy benefits to your earning power and value system. Jupiter in this part of your chart could very well bring a profitable and productive year. You are likely to feel more confident and enthusiastic about your ability to earn a living, and this can help you to attract more income, as long as you are realistic. You might decide to develop your talents during this Jupiter cycle, which in turn boosts your earning power. Your income might increase, and there may be an opportunity to improve your future financial situation. However, you may also be just as inclined to splurge on yourself, opting to plump up your nest or your store of personal possessions in order to feel more secure. Money problems from the past may clear up during this period if you use it appropriately, developing budgets and working out ways to better manage your resources. You may be adding to your possessions, you might receive a large item or gift, or a major purchase or sale might occur now. A significant gift or bonus may come your way. This is a good time to work with financial institutions, go for a raise, or apply for a loan. You may need to curb an inclination to overspend–feeling good could bring you to the stores as you temporarily forget about the future! The positive circumstances listed here won’t necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life.
The most favorable periods for these matters occur while Jupiter is in direct motion in your solar second house, from June 4th to August 30th, and then from December 25th forward. (This transit lasts until June 2012).
Jupiter transits conjunct your Sun from January 22nd to March 12th. This is a feel-good transit that offers you opportunities to rise above petty concerns. It’s an excellent time to start new long-term projects. You might find that you feel more vital, confident, and optimistic about the future at this time. It’s a good time to resolve conflicts. Events may give your ego a boost, and you could be feeling quite vital and alive. Take advantage of this by promoting yourself or putting yourself “out there”. Ego gratification is the theme of this transit. This is the start of a “new you” — a more confident and faithful person.
Saturn transits your solar seventh house again this year. Saturn motivates us to do “spring cleaning” in the areas of life it touches. In your case, significant one-to-one relationships need to be considered and understood during this transit. This is a time when you need to define, understand, and crystallize your significant relationships with others. If you already have a partner, this is a time when any issues surrounding compromise, flexibility, and the ability to give your heart to your partner will surface. Initial frustration in the early stages of this transit this year may take the form of feeling criticized and “examined” in this area of life. By the end of the transit next year, however, you will have learned much about commitment and compromise. Those of you who are single are likely to feel the initial pressures of Saturn transiting the seventh house as well. A feeling of loneliness is possible in either situation (whether you have/had a significant partnership or not), but instead of an issue of re-committing, the single person will seriously think about commitment in general. If involved in a casual love relationship, when Saturn transits the seventh, a pressure emerges concerning the need for evaluating your commitments. Often this transit corresponds with an urge (or pressure) to make a commitment or a re-commitment. Healthy partnerships can be the outcome of this transit, whether they are new ones or strengthened existing partnerships. Saturn always brings with it a fair measure of reality and objectivity, so that whatever relationships you may have now or want to have will be defined and re-defined. Relationships are seen now as serious matters! Partners are no longer simply for amusement or mirrors of your ego. Responsibilities to partners, the need to compromise, and the realities of the needs of others, become clear. You are forced to begin seeing others as individuals, and to improve the manner in which you relate to and with others. Depending on your age and life circumstances, “significant partnerships” can mean partnerships with loved ones, business partnerships, and even deep friendships. By the end of this transit, quantity in the relationship department will have been replaced with quality, and this process involves time, soul-searching, frustration, and eventual fulfillment.
For those born approximately March 26-29, and those with an Ascendant of 5 to 8 degrees Aries, Pluto squares your Sun in year 2011, and fundamental changes in the way you see yourself, how you treat others, and in the direction your career is headed are in store. How you have handled issues of personal power and the sharing of power with others in personal and professional relationships come to the fore. You are likely to experience events that pull up the necessity to share and trust. This year, events and circumstances are such that you learn about your own personal strength. You may have to deal with willfulness and issues of power and competition this year–in others and in yourself. There are likely to be times when you feel on edge, volatile, or even threatened. There is an inner drama taking place this year, and a feeling that external circumstances are undermining your own feeling of powerfulness. In the process, you may be able to get in touch with your internal motivations. A tendency to want to control your life through some form of manipulation is strong during this influence. Meeting with obstacles in your path, however, can force you into the position of using all of your resources to fight back, and you can discover resources you never knew you had in the process! You may slowly uncover a new direction in your career–one that reflects more of the “true you”. You may also experience tangles in your close personal relationships, perhaps more so with males. Watch for jealousies and manipulative behavior. Things will not go in your favor if you resort to tactics to get what you want. If you have been feeling somewhat of a victim in your job, for example, then this will be a year when you feel it more acutely and feel the need to do something about it. You could have problems staying calm, cool, and collected at times. Buried resentments come to the fore and demand to be dealt with. Avoid focusing on regrets or dead-end situations, as the tendency to obsess over things that can’t or shouldn’t be changed runs very high. Resentments and regrets left unattended can have toxic effects, so it’s wise to work on overcoming these rather than letting them spoil your life. By the time this transit ends, you are more equipped than ever to go after exactly what it is that you want in life. Superficial areas of your life will be removed or transformed, and you are freer to express your authentic self.
For those of you born March 21-29, Pluto is in your solar tenth house this year. Your ambition is more intense and the need to find deep significance with regards to your social standing or professional life becomes very strong. Some of you might attract negative attention from superiors or from others in your field who are jealous of, threatened by, or finding fault in the work you do. However, any trials and tests that could be stimulated now will push you onto the right path and challenge you to become stronger and more confident in your own abilities. Some of you may be changing jobs or long-term professional goals. Some might continue along the same career path but alter their goals and duties. Others might discover a deep inner need to grow and develop their existing careers or businesses, uncovering ambitions that they never knew they had. Fears of underperforming can come to the fore under this influence, and it’s time to find ways to eradicate them.
For those of you born March 21-26, and those with an Aries Ascendant of 0-5 degrees, Uranus conjuncts your Sun/Ascendant and begins its lengthy transit of your solar first house. This will bring a burst of energy and awareness into your life, marking a time of monumental changes to your identity. Freedom of expression is deeply important to you now. You are making breaks from elements from your past that have limited your freedom or that have kept you from expressing your individuality. This is a time when you are more willing to take personal risks. Uranus is the Awakener, and often “awakens” your consciousness to areas of your life that it touches in surprising ways. As such, there may be unexpected events that free you from confining situations or past conditioning patterns. You are more inspired this year, and your personality fairly bubbles with bursts of enthusiasm. Impulsiveness is something to watch out for, however. Your need for freedom can be so strong that you leave cherished things (or people!) behind. Alienating those close to you may occur now if you’re not careful. At the very least, people around you are surprised by your more rebellious and risk-taking nature. While you shouldn’t resist change now, you should avoid completely impulsive behavior. Changes in the image you project to others, and perhaps your personal style and appearance, take place this year. You might go through a series of personal makeovers. You are breaking free from the expectations of others now. Your behavior tends to be more spontaneous, and perhaps a little rebellious. Freedom of personal expression is immensely important to you now, and if you turn a few heads or raise some eyebrows in the pursuit thereof, you don’t particularly worry about it!
The influence of Neptune is similar to last year for most of you. Neptune continues to transit your solar eleventh house, as it has been doing for a number of years, adding some color and imagination to your social life. For some years now, you may have been faced with the need to draw some boundaries with friends and the demands of others. Your loyalty to certain groups or friends may have been misplaced, for example. You have experienced, and will continue to do so, a subtle yearning to belong with a friend or a group who shares your own ideals. This can lead you to attach yourself to unusual, more spiritual, or downright wacky friends…colorful ones at the very least! However, for those born March 21-22, Neptune begins its transit of your solar twelfth house, It’s a pleasant placement for this mysterious and elusive planet. Dreams are especially rich and involved. You pay more attention to synchronicities, signs, symbols, and omens in your life. You are building your faith in all that is “unseen”.
Eclipses in 2011 fall in your fourth and tenth houses and third and ninth houses. It’s time to take steps to improve your family and home life. You may need to review and change your career goals as well. Career matters come to a head. You may be challenged to perform and prove your competence this year. New this year, you are receiving a cosmic push to become more active in your immediate environment (neighborhood, with siblings/relatives, etc.), and/or to learn and communicate facts that fuel your opinions. Transportation and mobility may become an issue. For example, some of you may be learning to depend on others for getting from point A to point B, and others may be learning to take charge of their own mobility.
A positive connection between your second and tenth houses this year suggests some material benefits coming from your career. Increased focus on increasing your income figures strongly this year. Alternatively, you may have more resources to invest into your career or business. You may find that you are more able to earn a living from what you truly love doing in the second half of 2011.
Jupiter trines Pluto in July and then again in October. This transit generally favors business, the law, and commerce. We might enjoy increased influence, faith, and insight now. The desire for more personal significance can lead us to give of ourselves or motivate us to more ambitiously pursue personal or professional goals. The ability to sway or persuade can be enhanced now. One of the most positive uses of this transit involves taking steps to better ourselves. We might solve a problem that has been in existence for some time, or capitalize upon a resource that was previously hidden or unacknowledged. Jupiter also forms favorable aspects to Neptune and Chiron from June forward. For you, more determination to boost your income is likely. Financial support may be easier to come by, and tricky financial problems can more easily be resolved during this period. Publishing or promotional efforts can be especially persuasive. Those of you involved in higher education studies are likely to find that you’re more focused and determined.

The influences of Uranus and Neptune are similar to last year. Even though Uranus has entered your sign, Aries, it won’t be until 2013 and beyond that Uranus conjuncts your Sun/Ascendant. Uranus continues to help release you from unconscious habit patterns, perhaps stirring up your private life (your private life has certainly become more “colorful” in the last few years), and interjecting some unusual coincidences into your life. This whole process will continue throughout 2011 and beyond, acting to slowly but surely detach you from the past. Teaching may play a big role in your life in the latter half of 2011. Authors will find a broader audience. Trips could be especially rewarding for you–they can provide a pleasant breather from pressures in your life. You have a strong interest in broadening your mental experiences in general, and finding expression of your personality through them, perhaps through higher education or exploring different philosophies of life. 2011 Details.
Until April 21st, Jupiter continues to plump up your solar twelfth house, and you continue to gain more inner confidence and peace with yourself and your past, in preparation for Jupiter’s transit to your first house and conjunction to your Sun/Ascendant, which occurs after April 21st. This transit can bring benefits to activities that take place “behind the scenes” or otherwise privately, as well as in the soul. This is a cycle in which you become more compassionate, empathetic, and sensitive, or get in deeper touch with these traits. Jupiter in the twelfth house is said to offer one spiritual protection. This is a time when you can rid yourself of self-destructive tendencies, deep-seated fears, and deeply-ingrained tendencies towards guilty feelings. You are more able to get in touch with your subconscious mind, and in fact, confronting your fears can be quite pleasurable during this period. Charity, giving/donating anonymously, volunteering, and helping others without expectation of reward will be most fulfilling during this cycle. Helping others actually helps you. Work that involves serving others may begin now and bring you much joy. Your dreaming world may be especially rich, lighter, helpful, and more intuitive. Meditation and retreats may be particularly helpful to you now, as they regenerate and invigorate your spirit. Much pleasure and growth might be found in solitude and contemplation. You may pick up New Age studies, spirituality, dream interpretation, or research during this cycle. Some people enter into a private romance during this cycle. In general, help seems to be there when you need it. You are building or rebuilding your inner faith now. These positive circumstances won’t necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life.

Jupiter transits conjunct your Sun from April 21st to June 4th.
Saturn’s presence in your sixth house until October 12th isn’t new to you–it’s a cycle that began late in 2008–but continues to affect your life this year. Saturn turned a critical eye to work, daily functions, habits, and health at the beginning of this cycle, and you likely experienced some feelings of pressure at this time. You likely found yourself more accountable than ever when it came to your work and output. You may have initially felt bogged down by what seemed like undue pressure in your routines. The key word here is “seemed”, simply because the nature of Saturn is such that the pressure it brings is never truly undue. In fact, Saturn knows better than us, and it is in reality very much “due”. Why? Because things we may have previously neglected or disregarded now come up for inspection. Some of the questions that this cycle calls up include: How can you make best use of your time? How can you manage your day-to-day life, and your body, better? You became more and more aware of all of the “fluff” that you had surrounding your daily routines and your work, and spring cleaning became necessary. This is an excellent period for starting new regimens to better your health and well-being, such as regular exercise, more structured and productive use of your time, and so forth. In fact, you may have experienced events and circumstances that forced you to do so, or at least provided you with the motivation to get your act together. Traditionally, this transit was associated with health problems. Generally, though, if health concerns manifest, they are ones that are manageable. They signal the need for change in diet, routines, and habits. Because this transit is already underway and past its acute period, in 2011, being more productive, healthy, and focused comes more naturally.
Saturn transits your solar seventh house from October 12th forward.
The influences of Uranus and Neptune are similar to last year. Even though Uranus has entered your sign, Aries, it won’t be until 2015 and beyond that Uranus conjuncts your Sun/Ascendant.
Eclipses in 2011 fall in your third and ninth houses and second and eighth houses. You are receiving a cosmic push to become more active in your immediate environment (neighborhood, with siblings/relatives, etc.), and/or to learn and communicate facts that fuel your opinions. Transportation and mobility may become an issue. For example, some of you may be learning to depend on others for getting from point A to point B, and others may be learning to take charge of their own mobility. As well, some drama with regards to a spouse’s income, or your taxes and investments, may occur on a mundane level. It may be time to settle some of your debts, financial or otherwise. What makes you feel comfortable and secure needs to be balanced with attention to other people’s needs and comfort levels.
A positive connection between your first and ninth houses this year suggests opportunities to spread your word. Others are likely to turn to you for advice. Some travel is quite possible this year.
Financial support may be easier to come by, and tricky financial problems can more easily be resolved during this period. Publishing or promotional efforts can be especially persuasive. Those of you involved in higher education studies are likely to find that you’re more focused and determined.
