The FULL MOON occurs on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 3:03 AM EDT.
On Wednesday morning, a Full Moon occurs, when the Sun in Virgo forms an opposition to the Moon in Pisces.
The Virgo-Pisces polarity is the service axis, and it deals with the balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Pisces). Virgo rules our personal set of tools and techniques that we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools that we use to deal with our spirituality. The key to balance lies in identifying and expressing our spiritual needs while maintaining order in our everyday lives. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire–we would either be living in chaos or in excessive order.
The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
This Full Moon is tightly tied to Neptune and this can be a dreamy, inspired time but also one when we can be wrestling with expectations.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 13 degrees and 53 minutes of Pisces forming an opposition to the Sun at 13 degrees and 53 minutes of Virgo, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 11 to 17 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.

The Sun is in Virgo; Mercury is in Leo until September 9th when it enters Virgo; Venus is in Leo; Mars is in Leo until September 5th when it enters Virgo.
The Sun is in Virgo from August 22-September 22. Our focus shifts to the pieces of the puzzle–the little details of our lives. It is now time to take care of practical concerns. Tending to the details of everyday life may not sound like loads of fun, but it can certainly free us from unnecessary stress that results from “collecting” odds and ends of unfinished business. This is an ideal time to get organized, to do detail work, and to improve communications on the job.
Mercury is in Leo from August 31-September 9. When Mercury is in Leo, our thinking is more confident and grand. The focus is now on the goal–and the grander a goal the better! The details may not be quite as important now. We are more expressive, even theatrical and given to speech-giving and story-telling under this influence. We are also more convincing and persuasive, as we exude confidence when we speak or write. We may not listen as well as we normally do under Mercury in Leo.
Mercury is in Virgo from July 25-August 31 and then September 9-29. When Mercury is in Virgo, precision in speech, thought, and process is now important to us. This is a time when we analyze and decide what is useful and what we deem to be impractical. Mercury feels right at home in Virgo, one of the signs that it rules. Dealing with details is natural and easy now. We need to be careful that we don’t lose perspective if we find ourselves lost in details. We should also be aware of the possibility of expressing ourselves in a too factual manner, so much so that we come across as dry, critical, or unimaginative.
Venus is in Leo from August 26-September 19. Love is magnificent and grand. We take pride in love, and we are generous with our money as well. This is a warm-hearted, teasing, expressive, proud, and extravagant placement for Venus. Love is a bit of a game–a game that is perpetual, as Venus in Leo is forever stuck in the romance stage of a relationship. We feed on attention, acknowledgment, validation, and adoration. Venus in Leo loves to be adored, pampered, and admired. Pride and passion are hallmarks of this cycle. We have a strong ego investment in our love lives during this period. The negative expression of this placement is overstating our feelings simply for the effect, as well as extravagance.
Mars is in Leo from July 20-September 5. In Leo, Mars is proud, self-confident, and grand. We are spirited and have grand goals. We go after what we want in a direct, self-assured manner, desiring dramatic results. We prefer not to worry about details, and take the least complicated route to our goals. The sex drive is strong, and passion for life is high.
Mars is in Virgo from September 5-October 22. In Virgo, Mars is somewhat of a workhorse. We have a passion for details, as well as a need to do the right thing at just the right time under this influence. The satisfaction of a job well done is one of your greatest incentives now. We are more precise and concerned about performance.
Saturn transits Sagittarius from December 23, 2014, to June 14, 2015, and then from September 17, 2015, to December 20, 2017. Read about Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius here.
Jupiter entered Libra on September 9th, 2016, and will transit Libra until October 10, 2017, after which Jupiter will be in Scorpio. Read about Jupiter in Libra here.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011 and will transit Aries until May 15, 2018, and then from November 6, 2018, to March 6, 2019. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Leo from August 26-September 19. Romance becomes an end in itself during this cycle. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired – needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth characterizes this cycle. Love is magnificent and grand!
This week: Venus doesn’t have easy channels for expression this week, forming aspects that suggest adjustments are necessary. Monday and Tuesday, we may be wrestling with expectations or we could be feeling some vague discontent. Trusting our perceptions or intuition can be difficult now. Insecurities can interrupt the regular flow of affection or understanding in relationships now. On the 9th, we’re inclined to question ourselves or our partners/relationships. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives (finances, too). Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge. Quincunxes tend to undercut our confidence temporarily until we figure out what we’re missing.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Leo August 26-September 19. Romance becomes an end in itself as a new cycle begins for you. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired – needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth.
Venus sesquiquadrate Chiron September 4-5. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves.
Venus quincunx Neptune September 4-5. Idealism and disappointments in love. Avoid becoming blinded by what you want to see, rather than what really is. Doubts about love.
Venus quincunx Pluto September 9. This is a time of adjustments and reassessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Venus trine Saturn September 12. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. A new sense of realism and maturity in existing partnerships. Relationships begun under this influence possess a distinctly practical theme, almost as if the partnership is a business endeavor, and have much potential to last.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Tuesday, September 5th, from 1:17 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Mars), until the Moon enters Pisces shortly thereafter, at 1:30 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, September 6th, from 4:30 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Saturn), until the Moon enters Aries the next day, Thursday, September 7th, at 8:02 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Saturday, September 9th, from 11:53 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Taurus shortly thereafter, at 12:23 PM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Mercury conjunct Mars. This is a good energy for debate or energetic mental work. We may be called upon to make a decision, but it may be a hasty, ill-considered one. We may be argumentative and irritable under this influence, and particularly impatient with vagueness. Be careful to avoid cutting words and aggressive driving. Our minds may be especially clear and active, and this can be a good time to eliminate wasteful activities. This influence excites and over-stimulates the whole nervous system.
Sun opposition Neptune. It’s easy to get lost in fantasy at this time, as we feel somewhat directionless and less able to face everyday realities. Willpower is low. Not a good time for any financial undertaking or formal agreement.
Venus sesquiquadrate Chiron. Blocks to intimacy are possible now as we focus on differences rather than similarities in our relationships with others. We might have a hard time learning from one another as a result.
Sun sesquiquadrate Uranus. During this transit, we feel the need for action, but if we don’t know where we’re headed, we might take the wrong turn. Unexpected changes in plans or events can test our patience, and we might feel a bit out of control. However, they could stimulate us to try new approaches and they certainly act to cut boredom. This transit could offer us the drive to do something new, but avoid making hasty major decisions for the time being.
Venus quincunx Neptune. Under this influence, we are apt to see what we want to see, rather than what actually is, when it comes to both financial affairs and affairs of the heart. Still, we tend to doubt our perceptions of perfection. The end result is a feeling of insecurity on romantic and social levels. Avoid making large purchases and commitments at this time.
Mars sesquiquadrate Pluto. Our desires are intense and difficult to satisfy under this influence. A tendency to bully and confront may dominate. Efforts to make changes could be thwarted, or power struggles emerge. The trick is to remain flexible and to develop strategies for achieving our goals.
Venus quincunx Pluto. This is a time of adjustments and reassessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Sun trine Pluto. We are able to get to the bottom of things now. We are more decisive than usual, and our abilities to concentrate and focus help us achieve what we set out to do. Endurance, the power to achieve, an opportunity to draw upon our past and to capitalize on resources, and strategy are all themes of this influence. This is a very positive aspect for starting a money-making endeavor (all things equal) or a new project. Leadership skills are in focus and strong. We are more able to connect with others in terms of shared goals and interests. The focus now is on eliminating negative or superficial elements in our lives.

SEPTEMBER 3
Mars and retrograde Mercury align in the sign of Leo this morning, stirring up a lot of mental energy. This meeting occurs at the same degree of August’s Solar Eclipse, suggesting movement on themes begun then. A problem from the past can re-emerge now, and we can feel driven to take care of it, although it can be difficult to stay centered. We should watch for impatience, snappiness, and impulsive moves and words. This conjunction is suitable for motivated, energetic work, particularly related to communications and the mind. We may want to get right to the point, so that communications may be on the insensitive side. With Mercury retrograde, we might renew an interest in handling an old problem or reviving an old project. This can be a time of racing minds, excited thoughts, and new ideas. The Moon spends the day in Aquarius. Its opposition to Venus towards midday can point to misunderstandings or inner conflicts about needs and desires.
SEPTEMBER 4
The Moon spends the day in Aquarius, and we thrive on intellectual stimulation, progress, and unusual or unconventional experiences. There is good energy today for team effort and productivity. Even so, there can be some disconnect between our feelings and our intellect with the Moon’s opposition to Mercury. This conflict is exaggerated as retrograde Mercury moves to a station, exact tomorrow morning. As well, the Sun is moving towards an opposition to Neptune, and it can be exceptionally easy to get lost in fantasy as we can feel directionless and not very up to facing everyday realities. Willpower is low. This is not a good time for major financial undertakings or formal agreements. The tendency to glamorize others or to put people on a pedestal can cause problems now. This can extend to situations and objects as well!
SEPTEMBER 5
Today is an astrologically busy day. The Sun perfects its opposition to Neptune shortly into the day, urging us to find a balance between action and reflection. A Venus-Chiron minor challenge this morning adds to the confusion. Blocks to intimacy are possible now as we focus on differences rather than similarities in our relationships. Mars enters Virgo early today, where it will transit until October 22nd, and we have a passion for details and a need to do the right thing at just the right time. The satisfaction of a job well done is one of our greatest incentives now. We are more precise and concerned about our performance during this cycle. Mercury turns direct this morning after retrograde motion since August 12th. Over the coming weeks, problems with communications and decision-making we may have encountered while Mercury was retrograde should start to improve. Plans or projects that have stalled might now resume. We can be flooded with energies that are hard to make sense of as the change takes place today, however, and thus critical decision-making might be avoided for the time being, as our thinking can be skewed. In fact, with all of these influences and shifts occurring today, there are simply too many distractions and a general lack of clarity to deal with now to make significant decisions. A quincunx between Venus and Neptune this afternoon extends the theme of uncertainty and interrupts natural flow in our interactions.
The Moon is void from 1:17 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Mars), until the Moon enters Pisces shortly thereafter, at 1:30 AM EDT.
SEPTEMBER 6
The Moon spends the day in Pisces and reaches full at 3:04 AM EDT. This Full Moon occurs when the Sun in Virgo opposes the Pisces Moon. We’re challenged to find a balance, and this lies in identifying and expressing our spiritual needs while maintaining order in our everyday lives. The Moon aligns with Neptune now, and attempting to find a balance between attention to our practical affairs and our spiritual needs becomes a priority. It’s also important to avoid looking for salvation through a relationship, person, project, or business, as we may be putting too-high expectations on people, ideas, and projects when we should be looking within for happiness. Ultimately, this ends up putting too much pressure on a relationship, person, plan, or enterprise, which is thus set up to disappoint.
A void of course Moon occurs from 4:30 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Saturn), until the Moon enters Aries tomorrow, Thursday, September 7th, at 8:02 AM EDT.
SEPTEMBER 7
The Moon continues to move through the sign of Pisces until 8:02 AM EDT, after which it transits Aries. In Aries, the Moon is bold, impulsive, spontaneous, and enterprising. We want to start fresh, and we’re not as interested in the past as we are in what will work for us today and going forward. We’re moving towards a minor challenging aspect between Mars and Pluto, and this can add a layer of pressure to the day. It can be difficult to fully commit to what we choose to do today, as much as we’d like to, without the distractions of Pluto-related worries, concerns, and challenges. While competition can be fun in the morning, we become more invested and take it a little too seriously as the day advances.
The Moon is void until 8:02 AM EDT when it enters Aries.
SEPTEMBER 8
The Moon is in assertive, pioneering Aries all day. Aries’ ruler, Mars, is forming a minor challenging aspect to Pluto this morning, suggesting a bigger investment in outcomes today, as well as possible tensions if we don’t get our way! Venus is moving towards a quincunx and the Sun towards a trine with Pluto, so Pluto themes have grown stronger. There can be a tendency to second-guess feelings, relationships, and even purchases. This is a time of adjustments and reassessments in our personal relationships, with spending or entertainment, or with regards to our social lives. Fears and jealousy can emerge, seemingly out of nowhere, and they can push us to see our personal blind spots. But while we may struggle with our feelings on some level today, we can feel powerful and effective in other areas of life. The Sun-Pluto trine points to endurance, the power to achieve, an opportunity to draw upon our past and to capitalize on resources, leadership abilities, and effective strategy. This is a good time to focus on eliminating negative or superficial elements in our lives, such as working on budgets, work plans, and diet or health programs and strategies. Personal priorities become clear now.
SEPTEMBER 9
The Sun-Pluto aspect discussed yesterday perfects this morning. We’re focused on priorities and determined to overcome obstacles now. Mercury returns to Virgo today and will continue its transit of this Mutable Earth sign until the 29th. Mercury first entered Virgo on July 25th, but turned retrograde in the sign on August 12th and retreated into Leo on August 31st. Mercury retraces the steps (or degrees) it took while retrograde until September 19th, after which we’re less inclined to look behind us. Mercury in Virgo is sharp, analytical, and efficient, but sometimes a little lost in details at the expense of the bigger picture. The Moon continues its transit of Aries until 12:23 PM EDT, after which it moves into the sign of Taurus. While the Aries Moon is assertive and pioneering, the Moon in Taurus is patient and persistent, blending well with Mars in Virgo late afternoon. We’re in tune with our natural impulses, and we’re exceptionally resourceful.
A void of course Moon occurs from 11:53 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Mercury), until the Moon enters Taurus shortly thereafter, at 12:23 PM EDT.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Aquarius
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
When the Moon is in Pisces
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
When the Moon is in Taurus
We are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and "stop to smell the roses." Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence.
While the Moon is in Taurus, people can be emotionally constant but inflexible. It's a time of stronger focus on personal needs and comfort levels, and a period of more common sense and attention to practical matters.
The Moon in Taurus generally favors the following activities: Substantial and material actions that yield solid results. Financial activities, and those involving personal possessions, applying for a loan, beginning a potentially long-term relationship, music, home decor.
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Virgo You’re coming into a new cycle centered on taking what you know and what you’ve got and then making the most of it in the real world. Assimilating information and experience, learning lessons and putting them into practice – that’s the focus as this cycle unfolds. It’s a time for prudence and stewardship, a time to tend to the details. You probably already have the grand ideals and visions: now you must get your hands dirty with the bricks and mortar and your mind busy with putting it all together.
Mercury in Leo The hallmark of the cycle you have just begun is thinking, learning and communicating with style. Intellectual creativity is highlighted, and your social connections have a certain flair of drama to them. Winning the admiration of others for the things you say or write (and the way you do it) takes on more importance in your life.
Mercury in Virgo Mental discipline and patience are keynoted as you enter into a new cycle. Thinking things through, accounting for all the details, making careful measurements: these and similar experiences keep your mind active and involved. An interest in health and work may come to the fore.
Venus in Leo Romance becomes an end in itself as a new cycle begins for you. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired – needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth.
Mars in Leo The thrill of the chase, the smell of the greasepaint, the roar of the crowd: that’s what gets your juices flowing now that you’ve entered a new cycle. To be appreciated, to be admired (adored, even) – that’s what you crave. It’s a time of creativity, drama, and passion; a time when grabbing the spotlight and stealing the scene gives you a thrill. Is winning everything? No – but it’s way ahead of whatever comes in second!
Mars in Virgo As a new cycle dawns in your life, there arises a passion for details, a need to do just the right thing at just the right time, and a burning desire to have a place for everything and everything in its place. This can be hard on the digestion if taken to extremes! The satisfaction of a job well done is one of your greatest incentives now.
Jupiter in Libra The ties that bind, the harmonious integration of opposites, the perfect balance: these are the keys to your greatest opportunities now. Marriage and other close personal relationships tend to offer bright prospects, and you have a deep yearning to experience the fulfillment they can bring.
Saturn in Sagittarius The new phase now beginning in your life brings a need to break out of narrow concepts and legalistic philosophical or religious ideas. Remember: “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.” Opportunities to broaden your mental horizons may not come with ease, but they are essential if you are to avoid a kind of spiritual stagnation.
Uranus in Aries A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
