The FULL MOON occurs on Saturday, November 4th, 2017, at 1:23 AM EDT.
On Saturday morning, the Full Moon occurs as the Sun in Scorpio forms an opposition to the Moon in Taurus. This one is particularly close to the earth such that we may feel its themes a little more strongly.
Full Moons always pit opposite signs of the zodiac against each other but also invite us to work to achieve a balance between the opposing energies.
The contrast between earthy, practical, peace-loving Taurus and emotional, transformative, crisis-oriented Scorpio comes full bloom now. The Moon in Taurus wants us to find emotional fulfillment through the simple, tangible things in life, while the Scorpio Sun draws our attention to complexities, intangibles, and mysteries. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between form (Taurus) and transformation (Scorpio), and between collecting (Taurus) and sharing (Scorpio). This is a passionate and creative Full Moon, ripe with possibilities and learning experiences. Intimate relationship matters, such as personal comfort levels and values as well as sexuality, figure prominently now. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Taurus Full Moon reminds us of the abundance of what we already have. A Venus-Uranus opposition is extremely tight at the time of the Full Moon, and since Venus is Taurus’ ruler, this aspect takes on even more significance. Recall that Uranus tightly opposed the New Moon on the 19th, and this has a similar feel to it — we need to awaken to a new way of doing things and enjoying ourselves. The Full Moon itself connects with Jupiter and harmonizes with Neptune, as both bodies get closer and closer to an exact trine, emphasizing the fertility, imagination, and magic of our realizations and epiphanies. Generosity and compassion increase and our faith is boosted. We more easily make personal sacrifices for what we believe to be the better good.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 11 degrees and 59 minutes of Taurus forming an opposition with the Sun at 11 degrees and 59 minutes of Scorpio, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 8 to 16 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.

The Sun is in Scorpio; Mercury is in Scorpio; Venus is in Libra; Mars is in Libra.
The Sun is in Scorpio from October 23-November 21. The guiding principle of Scorpio is “I desire”. Scorpio is the sign of depth, intimacy, and extremes of feeling. Superficiality simply will not do with the Sun in Scorpio. We have the desire to get to the bottom of matters. Mediocrity does not satisfy either. All that is hidden, taboo, secret, or suppressed interests us. In Libra, we strived towards equality and fairness. Scorpio, however, instinctively believes that life simply isn’t fair. Scorpio’s energy is provocative, usually in a quiet way, as well as passionate, strong-willed, and intense. It can be an immensely healing and transformative energy. Jealousy, vindictiveness, beating a dead horse, and manipulative are some of the more negative expressions of Scorpio.
Mercury is in Scorpio from October 17-November 5. When Mercury is in Scorpio, our thoughts and communications are more probing and intense. While Mercury in Libra urged us to find balance and to arrive at fair solutions, Mercury in Scorpio instinctively knows that life simply isn’t fair. Mercury in Scorpio seeks truths in all that is hidden and undercover. We tend to probe, observe, and focus our thoughts under this influence. Looking for motivations–the more deeply buried the better–satisfies an intellectual need now. Our thoughts are profound. We throw away superficial manners of communicating in favor of deep conversations. Scorpio is extremely sharp, profound, and analytical. Thinking is inclined to be one-track minded, focused, and even obsessive.
Venus is in Libra from October 14-November 7. We are more inclined to employ charm rather than aggressive behavior in order to get what we want during this cycle. Although Venus in Libra virtually lives for relationships, there is an air of cool detachment to this energy. We are very obliging with others–quite willing to negotiate and compromise. We can be especially idealistic about love. We prefer things to be done the “right” way, and we’re turned off by aggressive or uncouth behavior. The shadow side of this position is dependence, inconsistency, and superficiality. In an attempt to avoid unpleasant situations, we could easily gloss over deeper issues at play in our relationships. It’s probably best to avoid the trap of acquiescing to our partners but privately resenting the fact or thinking ourselves martyrs for doing so! This is also a time when we are more artistically inclined. We tend to seek balance in our personal environment.
Mars is in Libra from October 22-December 9. We tend to use our charm as a means to an end under the influence of this cycle. Because we can see many different sides to an issue, we can be vacillating and indecisive about how to act. We don’t want to be the “bad guy”, and rarely resort to force. Instead, we attempt to win arguments with style. We are indirect in approach and inclined towards engaging in mental debates, yet we also attempt to make the opposition comfortable! Passive-aggressiveness is the shadow side of this energy.
Saturn transits Sagittarius from December 23, 2014, to June 14, 2015, and then from September 17, 2015, to December 20, 2017. Read about Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius here.
Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 10th and will remain in the sign until November 8th, 2018. Read about Jupiter in Scorpio transit here.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011 and will transit Aries until May 15, 2018, and then from November 6, 2018, to March 6, 2019. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Libra from October 14-November 7. We are more inclined to employ charm rather than aggressive behavior in order to get what we want during this cycle. Although Venus in Libra virtually lives for relationships, there is an air of cool detachment to this energy. We are very obliging with others–quite willing to negotiate and compromise. We can be especially idealistic about love. We prefer things be done the “right” way, and are turned off by aggressive or uncouth behavior.
This week: We gravitate towards or attract people who help us grow or change on Monday and Tuesday. We’re seeking out a feeling of belonging and we want to harmonize, and we’ll put in the effort to socialize and make peace now. We’re open to romance and understanding on Wednesday. While there can be some coolness in our relationships on Thursday, we’re willing to put in the effort to make things work. However, on Friday there is a growing desire to be free and without restriction in our relationships, and our displays of independence can be on the disruptive side. An uncertain theme continues on Saturday, but we’re now inclined to gloss over the harsh points and let our dreams take over. We should watch for distorted perceptions of people or even our own feelings now.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Libra October 14-November 7. As this new cycle takes hold in your life, romance and social interaction take on a greater importance for you. Harmonious ties to others are what you yearn for; refinement and elegance are what you seek. The ideal partnership, the perfect balance, the highest standards of truth and beauty – these are some of the things that quicken your pulse now.
Venus square Pluto October 27. Intense passions, but there’s a hidden agenda. Jealousy and possessiveness are high, in direct proportion to fear of losing partnership. Avoid starting a new relationship at this time, because it can be characterized by these energies.
Venus sextile North Node October 30-31. There is a stronger desire to connect to and belong with others at this time. We are more obliging and sociable.
Venus parallel Neptune November 1-2. Heightened sensitivity to, and awareness of, beauty and spirituality. We are easily influenced, seducible and seductive, and given to strong powers of imagination. We are more attuned to the world of beauty and romance. Gentleness with others is the best way to harness this energy. A “magical” time on a romantic and social level, but it could also be a confusing or illusory influence as well. Psychic openness and compassion.
Venus quincunx Chiron November 2-3. There may be vague feelings of discontent in relationships; or a choice that needs to be made regarding personal relationships, money, or possessions. Insecurity involving others might make it awkward for us to express our affections naturally or flowingly.
Venus sextile Saturn November 2-3. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. A new sense of realism in existing partnerships. Relationships begun under this influence possess a distinctly practical theme, almost as if the partnership is a business endeavor.
Venus opposition Uranus November 3-4. This is not an ideal time to begin relationships. Independence is the reigning need. Some fickleness. Uncertainty about the desire to be close to someone. Freedom versus closeness.
Venus sesquiquadrate Neptune November 4. Romantic confusion as well as relationship ups and downs. Self-deceptions may come to light now.
Venus contra-parallel Uranus November 4-5. Questions of freedom, change, specialness, and experimentation are raised in our relationships.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, October 29th, from 12:22 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Uranus), until the Moon enters Pisces at 7:47 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Tuesday, October 31st, from 5:08 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Saturn), until the Moon enters Aries the next day, Wednesday, November 1st, at 2:43 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Thursday, November 2nd, from 11:03 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Uranus), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Friday, November 3rd, at 5:46 AM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Mercury semi-square Mars. We are quick-witted and ready to argue under this influence. We may be working under stressful or hectic conditions, as we feel pressure to get things done quickly. We are inclined to be snappy and irritable, and we may too easily interrupt others rather than listen. Conflicts of interest are likely.
Sun semi-square Saturn. It’s hard to satisfy the ego today. We feel blocked by circumstances or others. It’s too easy to feel discouraged, but discouragement is a time waster. Gratitude isn’t forthcoming right now, so it’s best to wait it out rather than waste energy letting it get to you.
Sun sesquiquadrate Chiron. The desire to learn and grow through experiences and through others is strong, but may be hampered by a lack of confidence or a fear of being different.
Mercury trine Chiron. This is an excellent period for opening up communications with others, as we are more sensitive than usual and more willing to listen. Getting our point across is easier, as it’s not only about which words we choose to communicate, we intuitively express the meaning and intention behind the words. We can effectively use words to heal and comfort just now. We are also more open to new ways of looking at problems or at life in general.
Saturn square Chiron. There can be fears of not being competent or effective enough to meet our responsibilities, or we could find it hard to strike out on a unique path, again due to fears or insecurities. The desire to break from the status quo is strong, but we may not have the necessary confidence to do so. This is a time of taking a hard look at our vulnerabilities.
Mercury quincunx Uranus. It is difficult to get a point across without rubbing people the wrong way or misrepresenting ourselves. Uncertainty reigns today. Avoid making hasty decisions that you will later regret. Impulsiveness, disorganization, unreceptive to practical advice and/or your ideas are not well-received.
Venus quincunx Chiron. There may be vague feelings of discontent in relationships; or a choice that needs to be made regarding personal relationships, money, or possessions. Insecurity involving others might make it awkward for us to express our affections naturally or flowingly.
Venus sextile Saturn. Affections stabilize and mature. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. A new sense of realism in existing partnerships comes now. Small advances can be made in business and in partnerships. Support from older people or authority figures may come by way of solid advice or tangible help. Renewed ties to old friends are possible, or a new sense of responsibility in existing friendships.
Sun trine Neptune. We’re at the right place at the right time, probably because our hunches are more likely to be correct and we are “tuned in”. We are inspired, and charitable acts now will serve to lift our spirits like no drug can. A good time for self-improvement programs or efforts. Instinctual judgment is enhanced under this influence. We are able to see matters, and people, from a different perspective–one that allows for, and even finds beauty in, differences.
Venus opposition Uranus. Sudden attractions that may not last come under this influence. Similarly, impulsive attractions to material items that later prove to be unappealing occur now. This is not a good time to start a new relationship nor for any significant financial undertaking. Values and tastes may clash, and group activities may suffer as a result. Impulsive attractions to both people and material goods can lead us astray. Avoid impulse buys at this time. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness are probable in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye, and we might be taken off guard by unexpected events. This is not a favorable aspect for beauty treatments because they could have unexpected results. We may struggle with freedom versus intimacy issues at this time. It’s wise to hold off on decision-making with regards to finances and relationships. However, if we can separate rebellion from a sincere need for change, we might open ourselves up to new ways of dealing with others.
Venus sesquiquadrate Neptune. Happiness is addictive under this influence. We tend to see what we want to see. Glossing over the more realistic points, details, and flaws of circumstances and of people provides us with instant gratification. However, it’s wise to hold off on making important purchases, or natalizing a relationship until the veil lifts. Take care with legal, financial, and social involvements, contracts, or formal agreements under this dreamy influence.

OCTOBER 29
The Moon continues its transit of Aquarius until 7:47 PM. The Moon gets in between Saturn and Uranus, harmonizing with both, and showing us ways to combine practicality with innovation and convention with progress. This morning, Mercury semi-squares Mars, which can stimulate or aggravate us on mental levels. We are quick-witted but possibly also quite snappy under this influence. We may be working under stressful or hectic conditions, as we feel pressure to get things done quickly. This is not a good transit for listening to others (we tend to interrupt or jump to conclusions) or for reaching agreements (conflicts of interest are likely). However, this may also be a kick in the pants to get moving on a particular endeavor. The Moon enters gentle, vacillating Pisces at 7:47 PM EDT, where it will transit until early Wednesday.
The Moon is void from 12:22 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Uranus), until the Moon enters Pisces at 7:47 PM EDT.
OCTOBER 30
Our instincts for doing the right thing are excellent today as the intuitive Moon in Pisces harmonizes with the Sun and Jupiter in Scorpio. A cooperative spirit is with us. A positive state of mind can attract others, as well as favorable circumstances, to us. We’re not inclined to worry over details or rely too heavily on rationale today, and this helps us see the bigger picture. This evening, we’re easily touched and swayed as the Moon aligns with Neptune, awakening our imaginations for better or for worse.
OCTOBER 31
The Moon spends another full day in Pisces, and its trine to Mercury facilitates conversations about feelings or things we typically find difficult to express. However, we can be in an unusually serious or defensive frame of mind in the hours surrounding the Moon’s square to Saturn late afternoon and early evening (EDT). We might experience feelings of being blocked with Saturn, the great teacher, reminding us to slow down, ultimately for our own good. Responsibilities or worries can weigh heavily on our minds, especially with the Sun and Saturn approaching a semi-square, exact tomorrow. As Venus and Vesta move to an alignment in the sign of Libra, we might take pleasure in our commitment to or involvement in our relationships. We’re more willing than usual to make sacrifices if we feel they’ll help us improve our relationships or finances.
A void of course Moon occurs from 5:08 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Saturn), until the Moon enters Aries the next day, Wednesday, November 1st, at 2:43 AM EDT.
NOVEMBER 1
The Moon moves into assertive, pioneering Aries at 2:43 AM EDT, confronting Mars through an opposition early afternoon. We may be combative and impatient with vacillation now. Saturn and Chiron will form an exact square tomorrow, and today, the Sun challenges both through a semi-square and sesquiquadrate, respectively. We can feel blocked, discouraged, or hampered today as we may face situations that seem to test our vulnerabilities. Others may appear unsympathetic. However, we’re moving into a Mercury-Chiron trine that suggests good energy for discussing, or giving further thought to, sensitive topics. We can effectively use words to heal and comfort just now, and we approach problems in a holistic way.
The Moon ends its void period when it enters Aries at 2:43 AM EDT.
NOVEMBER 2
Early today, a Mercury-Chiron trine strengthens our communication skills, not so much on a technical level but more in terms of using both our heads and our hearts to understand one another. However, a longer-term influence comes into exactitude today: Saturn square Chiron. This is the last in a set of three (the aspect first perfected in December 2016 and again in April 2017), and we’re likely to deal with fears of not being competent or capable enough to meet our responsibilities. During the course of this transit, we may have had a hard time striking out on a unique path, again due to insecurities. The desire to break from the status quo has been strong, but we may have struggled with mustering up the necessary confidence to do so. Again now, circumstances are such that we may need to take a hard look at our vulnerabilities. Later today, a Mercury-Uranus quincunx can complicate our interactions as it can be challenging to get a point across clearly or even kindly. There can be disorganization, a lack of receptiveness to practical advice, or unclear directions and instructions to deal with. We have some help from the Moon’s sextile to Saturn as well as Venus as it approaches a sextile to Saturn, which can be grounding and practical-minded, although not as certain of itself as it typically is due to a quincunx to Chiron. The Moon spends the day in Aries.
A void of course Moon occurs from 11:03 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Uranus), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Friday, November 3rd, at 5:46 AM EDT.
NOVEMBER 3
A sextile between Venus and Saturn early today suggests we prefer to see one another and our relationships realistically. This can also be a time for placing a higher value on security, steadiness, and loyalty. The Moon continues its transit of independent Aries until 5:46 AM, after which the Moon visits the placid sign of Taurus. The Sun forms a trine to Neptune early afternoon, introducing a fluid, graceful theme to the day. We’re tuned into our intuition or access it more naturally now. It’s easy to find inspiration, and we may be moved to help, support, or give of ourselves. This can be a good time for self-improvement programs or efforts. We see people and life itself from a different perspective–one that not only allows for but finds beauty in differences. As the day advances, we move towards a Venus-Uranus opposition and a Full Moon in the sign of Taurus, exact early tomorrow. Impulsive attractions to people, things, and even situations are likely now. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness are probable in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye, and unexpected events or feelings may take us off guard. Our needs for comfort and togetherness appear to clash with the desire to be free and independent. If we can separate rebellion from a sincere need for change, we might open ourselves up to new ways of relating that accommodate our diverse needs. The Full Moon in Taurus is fertile and potent and can serve as a form of awakening to our feelings and desires.
The Moon ends its void period when it enters Taurus at 5:46 AM EDT.
NOVEMBER 4
Early today, a Full Moon occurs in the sign of Taurus as the Moon opposes the Scorpio Sun. This lunation is particularly close to the earth such that we may feel its themes a little more strongly, and it occurs at approximately the same time as a Venus-Uranus opposition. Full Moons always pit opposite signs of the zodiac against each other but also invite us to work to achieve a balance between the opposing energies. The contrast between earthy, practical, peace-loving Taurus and emotional, transformative, crisis-oriented Scorpio comes full bloom now. This is a passionate and creative Full Moon, ripe with possibilities and learning experiences. Intimate relationship matters, such as personal comfort levels, sexuality, and values, figure prominently now. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. We need to awaken to a new way of doing things and enjoying ourselves. The Full Moon itself connects with Jupiter and harmonizes with Neptune, as both bodies get closer and closer to an exact trine, emphasizing the fertility, imagination, and magic of our realizations and epiphanies. While there can be a tug of war between closeness and independence now, we might find discover ways to interact while honoring both needs. Venus forms a sesquiquadrate with Neptune this afternoon, and we’re inclined to see one another through the lens of wishful thinking. The Moon spends the day in the sign of Taurus.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Aquarius
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
When the Moon is in Pisces
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
When the Moon is in Taurus
We are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and "stop to smell the roses." Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence.
While the Moon is in Taurus, people can be emotionally constant but inflexible. It's a time of stronger focus on personal needs and comfort levels, and a period of more common sense and attention to practical matters.
The Moon in Taurus generally favors the following activities: Substantial and material actions that yield solid results. Financial activities, and those involving personal possessions, applying for a loan, beginning a potentially long-term relationship, music, home decor.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Scorpio Who owes what, who owns what, and who decides these things: these are some of the major issues for you at the dawn of the cycle that now begins in your life. The only thing we really own is our consciousness; the only master who is never overthrown is oneself. These are lessons best learned early in this cycle. Master them, and you master everything. Dodge these issues, and the great strength that could be yours will remain just out of reach. Understanding inner motivations, seeing through to the core: that’s your real path of power and enlightenment now.
Mercury in Scorpio A pronounced curiosity about taboos and mysteries plays a greater part in your life now. Your mind is on cutting through the nonessentials and penetrating to the core is where your mind is at now; you want to know who (or what) pulls the strings. Sex, taxes, investments, and others of life’s most compelling phenomena may captivate your interest more than ever before.
Venus in Libra As this new cycle takes hold in your life, romance and social interaction take on a greater importance for you. Harmonious ties to others are what you yearn for; refinement and elegance are what you seek. The ideal partnership, the perfect balance, the highest standards of truth and beauty – these are some of the things that quicken your pulse now.
Mars in Libra “I’m giving you a definite maybe” – that’s the motto of the cycle you’re now entering. It’s a time of refinement and tact, of an urge to please others that is so strong as to make it hard to decide or act for fear of offending someone. You’ll quickly learn to balance this out, or you’ll discover that there is no peace in compromise – and this can be tough on close relationships. The trick is to find the win-win solution to the no-win situation – and if anyone’s ever up to it, you are now.
Jupiter in Scorpio The phase now beginning for you emphasizes fixing what is broken or unhealthy, thereby giving it a new lease on life. This is more than one person alone can handle, so the cooperation of others is essential. You give up something in order to get or create something, and you may not understand the reasons why at the time. Sex, money, power, and vitality become key issues.
Saturn in Sagittarius The new phase now beginning in your life brings a need to break out of narrow concepts and legalistic philosophical or religious ideas. Remember: “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.” Opportunities to broaden your mental horizons may not come with ease, but they are essential if you are to avoid a kind of spiritual stagnation.
Uranus in Aries A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation.
