The FULL MOON occurs on Saturday, November 4th, 2017, at 1:23 AM EDT. 

On Saturday morning, the Full Moon occurs as the Sun in Scorpio forms an opposition to the Moon in Taurus. This one is particularly close to the earth such that we may feel its themes a little more strongly.

Full Moons always pit opposite signs of the zodiac against each other but also invite us to work to achieve a balance between the opposing energies.

The contrast between earthy, practical, peace-loving Taurus and emotional, transformative, crisis-oriented Scorpio comes full bloom now. The Moon in Taurus wants us to find emotional fulfillment through the simple, tangible things in life, while the Scorpio Sun draws our attention to complexities, intangibles, and mysteries. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between form (Taurus) and transformation (Scorpio), and between collecting (Taurus) and sharing (Scorpio). This is a passionate and creative Full Moon, ripe with possibilities and learning experiences. Intimate relationship matters, such as personal comfort levels and values as well as sexuality, figure prominently now. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.

The Taurus Full Moon reminds us of the abundance of what we already have. A Venus-Uranus opposition is extremely tight at the time of the Full Moon, and since Venus is Taurus’ ruler, this aspect takes on even more significance. Recall that Uranus tightly opposed the New Moon on the 19th, and this has a similar feel to it — we need to awaken to a new way of doing things and enjoying ourselves. The Full Moon itself connects with Jupiter and harmonizes with Neptune, as both bodies get closer and closer to an exact trine, emphasizing the fertility, imagination, and magic of our realizations and epiphanies. Generosity and compassion increase and our faith is boosted. We more easily make personal sacrifices for what we believe to be the better good.

This phase of the Moon occurs at 11 degrees and 59 minutes of Taurus forming an opposition with the Sun at 11 degrees and 59 minutes of Scorpio, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 8 to 16 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.

The Sun is in Scorpio from October 23-November 21. The guiding principle of Scorpio is “I desire”. Scorpio is the sign of depth, intimacy, and extremes of feeling. Superficiality simply will not do with the Sun in Scorpio. We have the desire to get to the bottom of matters. Mediocrity does not satisfy either. All that is hidden, taboo, secret, or suppressed interests us. In Libra, we strived towards equality and fairness. Scorpio, however, instinctively believes that life simply isn’t fair. Scorpio’s energy is provocative, usually in a quiet way, as well as passionate, strong-willed, and intense. It can be an immensely healing and transformative energy. Mercury is in Scorpio from October 17-November 5. When Mercury is in Scorpio, our thoughts and communications are more probing and intense. Although Venus in Libra virtually lives for relationships, there is an air of cool detachment to this energy. We are very obliging with others–quite willing to negotiate and compromise. We can be especially idealistic about love. We prefer things to be done the “right” way, and we’re turned off by aggressive or uncouth behavior. The shadow side of this position is dependence, inconsistency, and superficiality. In an attempt to avoid unpleasant situations, we could easily gloss over deeper issues at play in our relationships. It’s probably best to avoid the trap of acquiescing to our partners but privately resenting the fact or thinking ourselves martyrs for doing so! This is also a time when we are more artistically inclined. We tend to seek balance in our personal environment.

Mars is in Libra from October 22-December 9. We tend to use our charm as a means to an end under the influence of this cycle. Because we can see many different sides to an issue, we can be vacillating and indecisive about how to act. We don’t want to be the “bad guy”, and rarely resort to force. Instead, we attempt to win arguments with style. We are indirect in approach and inclined towards engaging in mental debates, yet we also attempt to make the opposition comfortable! Passive-aggressiveness is the shadow side of this energy.

While there can be some coolness in our relationships on Thursday, we’re willing to put in the effort to make things work. However, on Friday there is a growing desire to be free and without restriction in our relationships, and our displays of independence can be on the disruptive side. An uncertain theme continues on Saturday, but we’re now inclined to gloss over the harsh points and let our dreams take over. Mercury semi-square Mars. We are quick-witted and ready to argue under this influence. We may be working under stressful or hectic conditions, as we feel pressure to get things done quickly. Sun trine Neptune. We’re at the right place at the right time, probably because our hunches are more likely to be correct and we are “tuned in”. We are inspired, and charitable acts now will serve to lift our spirits like no drug can. A good time for self-improvement programs or efforts. Instinctual judgment is enhanced under this influence. We are able to see matters, and people, from a different perspective–one that allows for, and even finds beauty in, differences.

Venus opposition Uranus. Sudden attractions that may not last come under this influence. Similarly, impulsive attractions to material items that later prove to be unappealing occur now. This is not a good time to start a new relationship nor for any significant financial undertaking. Values and tastes may clash, and group activities may suffer as a result. Impulsive attractions to both people and material goods can lead us astray. Avoid impulse buys at this time. Some instability, restlessness, and rebelliousness are probable in romantic relationships. We may not see eye to eye, and we might be taken off guard by unexpected events. This is not a favorable aspect for beauty treatments because they could have unexpected results. The Moon spends another full day in Pisces, and its trine to Mercury facilitates conversations about feelings or things we typically find difficult to express. We might experience feelings of being blocked with Saturn, the great teacher, reminding us to slow down, ultimately for our own good. Responsibilities or worries can weigh heavily on our minds, especially with the Sun and Saturn approaching a semi-square, exact tomorrow. As Venus and Vesta move to an alignment in the sign of Libra, we might take pleasure in our commitment to or involvement in our relationships. Early today, a Mercury-Chiron trine strengthens our communication skills, not so much on a technical level but more in terms of using both our heads and our hearts to understand one another. However, a longer-term influence comes into exactitude today: Saturn square Chiron. This is the last in a set of three (the aspect first perfected in December 2016 and again in April 2017), and we’re likely to deal with fears of not being competent or capable enough to meet our responsibilities. During the course of this transit, we may have had a hard time striking out on a unique path, again due to insecurities. The desire to break from the status quo has been strong, but we may have struggled with mustering up the necessary confidence to do so. Again now, circumstances are such that we may need to take a hard look at our vulnerabilities. Later today, a Mercury-Uranus quincunx can complicate our interactions as it can be challenging to get a point across clearly or even kindly. There can be disorganization, a lack of receptiveness to practical advice, or unclear directions and instructions to deal with. When the Moon is in Aries

We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so.
