The FULL MOON occurs on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018, at 10:19 AM EDT.

On Tuesday morning, a Full Moon occurs when the Gemini Sun opposes the Moon in Sagittarius. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon approximately two weeks ago. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.

The Gemini-Sagittarius polarity is a mental axis, where Gemini represents the “lower mind” and Sagittarius represents the “higher mind.” The Gemini Sun encourages us to think logically, while the Sagittarius Moon persuades us to intuit and to think in a broader manner. Sagittarius symbolizes the quest for meaning and ideas that expand upon the “here and now.” Gemini is quite comfortable in his or her immediate environment or neighborhood, while Sagittarius stimulates us to venture beyond it. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do.

This Full Moon is about communication, attitude, and our sense of adventure. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.

The lunation illuminates this conflict between logic and intuition/faith. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is fresh, unrefined, and not particularly rational as yet.

This Full Moon forms a rather wide square to Neptune, and revelations now might lead to a detour from our goals. We should watch for misinformation. This is a time for opening ourselves up to possibilities. The Sun forms a trine to Mars, increasing our resolve and courage to make changes, although we may struggle with giving up certain desires or attachments.

This phase of the Moon occurs at 8 degrees and 10 minutes of Sagittarius forming an opposition with the Sun at 8 degrees and 10 minutes of Gemini, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 4 to 12 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.

The Sun is in Gemini; Mercury is in Taurus until the 29th, when Mercury enters Gemini; Venus is in Cancer; Mars is in Aquarius.

The Sun is in Gemini from May 20-June 21. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. We tend to scatter our energies as a result of this curiosity and awareness of all of our options. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.

Mercury is in Taurus from May 13-29. When Mercury is in Taurus, our thinking is down to earth, solid, and grounded. Common sense reigns over more fanciful thinking. We communicate more deliberately under this influence, and our minds are oriented to the world of the five senses. We prefer the tried and true rather than new ways of thinking. Attention to one thing at a time can simplify our lives, but we may be in danger of narrow, overly conservative, or rigid thinking.

Mercury is in Gemini from May 29-June 12. When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable. Mercury feels right at home in Gemini, one of the signs that it rules. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining a superficial knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic. We are especially astute when it comes to arguing or making a point. We are attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations. We are easily distracted.

Venus is in Cancer from May 19-June 13. In Cancer, Venus is nurturing, protective and self-protective, cautious, and fertile. We experience many emotional ups and downs in love under this influence due to increased sensitivity and impressionability. We are tender, romantic, and attached. Cancer love is dedicated, warm, and devoted. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern. We are affectionate and cuddly and are at our best when we feel safe and secure.

Mars is in Aquarius from May 16-August 12 and September 10-November 15. Dynamic yet erratic energy levels, achieving our goals through hit or miss tactics, and impersonal expression of anger are characteristics of Mars in Aquarius. We are team players–cooperative and less concerned about personal power. We are attracted to unconventional methods and tend to approach problems from an intellectual, detached perspective.

Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. We’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money are likely. Income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.

Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011, and will transit Aries until May 15, 2018, and then from November 6, 2018, to March 6, 2019. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.

Romance & Relationships

Venus is in Cancer from May 19-June 13. We treat lovers with sympathy and tenderness, providing the emotional nurturing that they need. We tend to “play it safe” when it comes to relationships. Love and devotion is most important to us, and provides us with a sense of inner security. We seek a deep love in which we can merge souls and personalities with our lover. We are quite devoted to our partners, and we seek such devotion in return. However, we could also become possessive, manipulative, and stifling. Familiarity is more important to us now. Our fear of rejection is overdeveloped, and we offer our hearts cautiously as a result. We pay more attention to our lovers’ feelings than their words. We feel threatened if a lover acts in an impersonal, overly independent, or detached manner. Safe and solid relationships are more appealing. Romantic and emotional hurts are very hard to forget. In Cancer, Venus is nurturing, protective and self-protective, cautious, and fertile. We experience many emotional ups and downs in love under this influence due to increased sensitivity and impressionability. We are tender, romantic, and attached. Cancer love is dedicated, warm, and devoted. We show our love through our devotion, care, and concern. We are affectionate and cuddly, and are at our best when we feel safe and secure.

This week: Venus forms a grand trine with Jupiter and Neptune on Thursday and Friday. This is a fine time to open ourselves up to new ideas, styles, and perspectives. We’re especially forgiving, understanding, and generous at this time, although perhaps not very practical. This can be a trusting, cheerful, and romantic time.

Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:

Venus in Cancer May 19-June 13. Mothering (or being mothered), sympathy, a yearning to put down roots, and a fondness for things that have stood the test of time – these are some of the hallmarks of the phase that now begins in your life. Romantic and social experiences, as well as artistic tastes, will show evidence of these factors.

Venus opposition Saturn May 25-26. We keep others at arm’s length, unsure of whether we are loved or not. This is a somewhat inhibiting influence when it appears that people value utility over true love. An element of seriousness permeates our love relationships. We may feel criticized and inhibited, unloved and unsatisfied, but our worst enemies may be ourselves and our own fears of getting close to others.

Venus semi-square Mercury May 25-26. Communications between lovers may feel superficial or unsatisfying, and perhaps awkward. We may be especially sensitive to what’s being communicated now.

Venus trine Jupiter May 31-June 1. Harmony and good will reign under this influence. Expansive feelings in love, and a feeling that anything is possible if we set our sights high enough, are experienced now. We are friendly, big-hearted, sociable, and optimistic. It is easy to make social contacts under this influence. Cheerfulness, trust, and confidence in love and social matters.

Venus trine Neptune June 1-2. We perceive romantic situations as if they were “designed” just for us. A magical, romantic time. The pleasures of life are experienced fully. Romance is highly favored. We see the very best in people now, and this eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships.

Venus opposition Pluto June 5. This is a period of intense feelings, as well as possible emotional distress and tension caused by romantic troubles or social manipulation. An experience of being used or abused physically, emotionally or sexually may cause us suffering or disappointment. Sexually driven emotions are likely now. Fears of betrayal may get the best of us.

Sun sesquiquadrate Pluto. A tendency to want to control our lives through some form of manipulation is strong during this influence. Meeting with obstacles in our paths, however, can force us into the position of using all of our resources to fight back, and we can discover resources we never knew we had in the process.

Sun quincunx Saturn. Doubts, the feeling of not being good enough, and lack of self-confidence might plague us under this influence. Lack of faith in ourselves and in life hinders our movements and initiatives.

Mercury sextile Chiron. This is an excellent period for opening up communications with others, as we are more sensitive than usual and more willing to listen. Getting our point across is easier, as it’s not only about which words we choose to communicate, we intuitively express the meaning and intention behind the words. We can effectively use words to heal and comfort just now. We are also more open to new ways of looking at problems or at life in general.

Mercury trine Mars. Enthusiasm and energetic communications are likely now. We are productive and take “busy-ness” in stride. We are alert and aware, and can easily turn ideas into workable projects. Our communications are refreshingly direct and to the point, although not especially sympathetic. Our minds are sharp and quick.

Venus trine Jupiter. Friendliness and optimism characterize this transit. We are big-hearted and our feelings are expansive. The outlook is cheerful and hopeful and the atmosphere is cooperative. This is a sociable, perhaps lazy and self-indulgent, time. We easily find meaning in our social connections. We are more open and trusting of friends and lovers. Integrity and loyalty are favored. A favorable influence for winning people’s trust. Speculation, advertising, publishing, and travel are favored.

Mercury sesquiquadrate Pluto. “Suspicious minds” characterize this transit, although if we harness the energy, we can develop strategies to get to the bottom of any matter. Mistrust, investigations. Some level of mental stress and pressure. A troubled mind.

Venus trine Neptune. We are more attuned to the world of beauty, the arts, and the imagination. Compassion, harmony, kindness, and openness characterize this transit. Gentleness with others is the best way to harness this energy. This can be a “magical” time on a romantic and social level. The pleasures of life are experienced fully. We see the very best in people now, and this eases our interactions and takes the pressure off in personal relationships. Romance is highly favored.

Mercury quincunx Saturn. Communication challenges today make it hard to get a point across. Delays, “red tape”, and vague feelings of forgetting important details.

The Sun’s sesquiquadrate with Pluto this morning can stimulate or aggravate fears and any feelings we may have of being powerless or overlooked. Buried emotions and motives can surface now. A tendency to want to control our lives through some form of manipulation is persistent with this aspect. However, as the day advances, we’re inclined to loosen up as the Scorpio Moon aligns with Jupiter and harmonizes with Neptune. The Moon-Jupiter transit also has the effect of magnifying our feelings and attachments, except that we can be exceptionally comfortable with our emotions.

MAY 28

The Moon continues its transit of perceptive, deliberate Scorpio until 6:29 PM EDT, after which it transits truth-seeking Sagittarius. The Scorpio Moon scopes out the hidden layers of matters, while we’re inclined to act more than observe under the influence of a Sagittarius Moon. The Sun and Saturn head towards a quincunx aspect, exact early tomorrow but influencing today, and doubts or lack of faith can slow us down and hinder our movements and initiatives. Even so, this can be a helpful process as we take a break from pushing ahead. We might now see the need to adjust our plans based on new responsibilities or a reality check. As well, the desire to diversify and enjoy variety can clash with our material goals now.

The Moon spends the day in the sign of Sagittarius, and we continue to awaken to our needs for adventure, opportunity, and different experiences or perspectives. This is also a time when we seek truths. Mercury’s sextile to Chiron is an earnest influence. We have good intentions, and warm, healthy conversations are possible as a result of this. We take a more holistic approach to problem-solving and decision-making now.

We enjoy making small changes that benefit our projects this morning, as we’re open to progressive methods. We have a larger sense of responsibility as the day advances, and we naturally take an inventory of our priorities. We are cautious and draw upon common sense when making decisions.

JUNE 1

Venus forms a grand trine with Jupiter and Neptune, making this a fine time to open ourselves up to new ideas, styles, and perspectives. With this influence, we’re exceptionally forgiving, understanding, and generous, although perhaps not very practical. This can be a trusting, cheerful, and romantic time. We’re seeking more meaning from our relationships and activities, and we’re looking beyond the surface of things to find it. This is a time to tap into our feelings and share them with others. Our communications are refreshingly direct and to the point, and our minds are sharp and quick. The Moon is in Capricorn all day, and since Capricorn is an action-oriented Cardinal sign, this energy is particularly welcome.

It can also lead to mental blocks or difficult decisions. Delays, red tape, and vague feelings of forgetting essential details may figure strongly now. It may be useful to make adjustments and lists or to break down tasks into smaller goals to recenter ourselves now. The Moon is in Capricorn until 6:07 PM EDT, and an organized approach makes even more sense as a result. The Moon then transits Aquarius, stimulating our more humanitarian impulses.

When the Moon is in Scorpio

 Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level.  The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.

The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.

When the Moon is in Aquarius

Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.

The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
