The FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE occurs on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, at 10:35 PM EDT.
On Tuesday night, a Full Moon occurs now as the Sun in Virgo forms an opposition to the Moon in Pisces. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
Note that this is the first eclipse of an eclipse set occurring along the Virgo-Pisces axis.
While the next eclipse after this one (chronologically) is in Libra, there will be a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo in March 2025, a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces in September 2025, a Solar Eclipse in Virgo in September 2025, a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo in March 2026, a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces in August 2026, and a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo in February 2027.
As the first in a sign set, this September eclipse can serve as the initial prompt, nudge, or push to make improvements in Virgo- and Pisces-ruled areas of life in our charts, and feelings of discontent can magnify.
Read more about this and other eclipses affecting our lives in Eclipses/Lunations or the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces in the calendar.
The Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon Chart:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 25 degrees and 41 minutes of Pisces, opposite the Sun at the same degree of Virgo, and affecting planets at approximately 21 to 30 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) and 0 to 1 degree of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) the most.
This Full Moon’s alignment with Neptune and square to Jupiter speak to the extravagant nature of this time, and its harmony with Uranus suggests we’re ready to embrace change and progress. There can be inflated feelings, so it’s wise to sit with them for a bit before taking action.

This week: The Sun is in Virgo; Mercury is in Virgo; Venus is in Libra; Mars is in Cancer.
The Sun is in Virgo from August 22-September 22. Our focus shifts to the puzzle pieces–the little details of our lives. It is now time to take care of practical concerns. Attending to the details of everyday life may not sound like loads of fun, but it can certainly free us from unnecessary stress that results from “collecting” odds and ends of unfinished business.
This is an ideal time to get organized, do detailed work, and improve communications on the job. We take more pride in our work, chores, and health efforts. We also want to be more organized and informed during the Sun-in-Virgo cycle.
We’re learning humility and the benefits of developing skills, some level of perfectionism, and the importance of attention to detail. It’s a time of down-to-earth practicality when we prefer to invest our time and energy in things with realistic potential. We’re not inclined to ambition or “going big.” Attracting prosperity involves honest, careful, and attentive work and dedication.
Mercury is in Virgo from September 9-26. When Mercury is in Virgo, precision in speech, thought, and process are more important to us. This is a time when we analyze and decide what is useful and what we deem to be impractical.
Mercury feels right at home in Virgo, one of the signs that it rules (Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo). Dealing with details is natural and easy now. We need to be careful that we don’t lose perspective if we find ourselves lost in details, however.
While Mercury is in Virgo, we should also be aware of the possibility of expressing ourselves in a too factual manner, so much so that we come across as dry, critical, or unimaginative.
We gravitate to useful information, and we can enjoy helping others with our knowledge. It’s a time for analyzing and dissecting, but we need other influences to put the pieces together or to see the bigger picture as our confidence in so doing is not strong at this time. It’s a time of conservative thinking and a strong tendency to want facts and certainties.
Venus is in Libra from August 29-September 22. We favor charm over assertiveness to get what we want during this cycle. Usually quite willing to negotiate and compromise, we can be very obliging with others. We’re also very idealistic about love, and we seek intellectual peers. Although Venus in Libra is very relationship-focused, there is an air of cool detachment to this energy. We prefer things are done the “right” way, and aggressive or uncouth behavior turns us off.
The shadow expression of this position includes over-dependence and superficiality. To avoid unpleasant situations, we could easily gloss over deeper issues at play in our relationships. It’s probably best to avoid the trap of acquiescing to partners while privately resenting the fact or thinking ourselves martyrs for doing so.
While Venus is in Libra, we are more artistically inclined or seek balance in our personal environment. This cycle is excellent for promoting cooperation, harmony, mutually beneficial connections, and fairness. We are gentle but firm, and we’re skilled at mediation.
We’re more likely to prosper during this cycle in partnership, through one-to-one associations, such as counseling, or in fields related to harmony, relationships, beauty, design, and the law. We’re not fond of out-and-out competition or aggressive pursuit, preferring win-win situations, hands down. We attract things to us and appeal to others gently and kindly. Equality and politeness are important now, and we despise hurting others’ feelings.
Mars is in Cancer from September 4-November 3, 2024, and then January 6-April 18, 2025. [Why so long and in two steps? Mars transits the full sign of Cancer from September 4th to November 3rd, when it moves on to Leo, but then turns retrograde in Leo on December 6th, 2024. While retrograde, Mars later returns to Cancer (on January 6th, 2025). Mars ends its retrograde on February 23rd, and later completes its transit of Cancer on April 18th, 2025.] We pursue our interests ardently, but we avoid a direct approach to going after we want while Mars transits Cancer. As well, our goals and plans are subject to mood swings and vacillations. We are defensive rather than overtly aggressive. Much of what we do depends on our current mood of the moment.
We’re also very intuitive and can be moved to take action to bring peace or comfort and safety to our lives during this period. We go to bat for our loved ones. In fact, we’re fiercely protective. It’s a powerful period for putting ego matters aside so that we can push our plans forward. Inner satisfaction and love are generally more important to us than outer achievements at this time. Personal and domestic goals are our priority during this phase.
.
Jupiter is in Gemini.
Jupiter began its transit of Gemini on May 24th, 2024, and continues its transit of the sign until June 9th, 2025. Read more about Jupiter’s transit of Gemini.
Saturn transits Pisces from March 7th, 2023 until May 24th, 2025, and Sep 1st, 2025, to Feb 13th, 2026. Read about Saturn’s transit of Pisces. Saturn will enter Aries on May 24th, 2025.
Uranus is in Taurus.
Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. Above all, we’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.
There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. In general, we’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money, are likely. Our income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Pluto transitions from Capricorn to Aquarius in 2023 and 2024. Read about Pluto’s transit of Aquarius. Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn, and was in Capricorn until January 20th, 2024. Pluto was in Aquarius from January 20th to September 1st, when it retreated into Capricorn once again. Note: Pluto is slow-moving through the zodiac signs!
Note that Pluto is now in Capricorn for the final journey through the sign from September 1st to November 19th, 2024, from which time Pluto stays in Aquarius for many years to come.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Libra from August 29-September 22. We favor charm over assertiveness to get what we want during this cycle. Usually quite willing to negotiate and compromise, we can be very obliging with others. We’re also very idealistic about love, and we seek intellectual peers. Although Venus in Libra is very relationship-focused, there is an air of cool detachment to this energy. We prefer things are done the “right” way, and aggressive or uncouth behavior turns us off.

This week: On Sunday, warm, generous energy is with us, but we’re not just looking for pleasure, we’re ready to lock things down, commit, or take one another seriously. We seek good company and offer support. It’s a time when we appreciate one another, friendly experiences, mind-expanding activities, beautiful and enriching environments, and different perspectives. It can be a happy, sociable, and optimistic time, but also rather balanced with realism and responsibility. We can be in control of our social graces.
However, on Monday, the 16th, we can find several little things wrong with our relationships, or there can be some awkward energy in our interactions. In fact, we can be commitment-phobic. We could be questioning our situation or others. However, our interactions can open up soft spots or trigger sensitive issues, which can help us understand ourselves and others more deeply.
It’s a time for identifying vulnerable areas, perhaps through controversy or painful experiences and truths, and there’s more of this energy on Thursday, the 19th.
Friday and Saturday, feeling and expressing our affections can be unnatural, choppy, or awkward, as we can experience vague discontent, restlessness, or doubts.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Libra As this new cycle takes hold in your life, romance and social interaction take on a greater importance for you. Harmonious ties to others are what you yearn for; refinement and elegance are what you seek. The ideal partnership, the perfect balance, the highest standards of truth and beauty – these are some of the things that quicken your pulse now.
Venus quincunx Saturn September 11. A feeling that we may not be able to express our affections, or that our affections will not be received well, can undermine us in our relationships. Fear of rejection, emotional distancing, and over-sensitivity.
Venus trine Jupiter September 14-15. Harmony and good will reign under this influence. Expansive feelings in love, and a feeling that anything is possible if we set our sights high enough, are experienced now. We are friendly, big-hearted, sociable, and optimistic. It is easy to make social contacts under this influence. Cheerfulness, trust, and confidence in love and social matters.
Venus parallel Saturn September 15. We may express our affection sparingly, but also responsibly and in practical ways. Relationships begun under this influence often feel burdensome over time, but they may last longer than most.
Venus opposite Chiron September 16. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves. Our relationships may open up some inner wound.
Venus contra-parallel Mercury September 16. We are voicing our feelings now, but we should be careful not to over-intellectualize our affections. We tend to analyze our feelings and relationships. Interactions between people bring up questions.
Venus contra-parallel Chiron September 19. Others, and especially partners and love interests, have something to teach us. This is a time for identifying vulnerable areas, perhaps through controversy or painful experiences and truths.
Venus inconjunct (quincunx) Uranus September 20. Impulsive spending, peculiar attractions, fear of commitment, freedom vs. intimacy issues. We might question whether we need more excitement in our relationships, or whether we need freedom from them; yet we don’t feel confident enough to rock the boat.
Venus quincunx Neptune September 21. Idealism and disappointments in love. Avoid becoming overcome by what you want to see, rather than what really is. Doubts about love.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.
The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.
The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, September 16th, from 1:04 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Uranus), until the Moon enters Pisces at 5:39 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Wednesday, September 18th, from 5:02 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aries at 5:24 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Friday, September 20th, from 4:39 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Pluto), until the Moon enters Taurus at 5:03 AM EDT.
September 2024:
Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).
The Moon is waxing this week until the Full Moon on the 17th, which is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, although with some exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). The Moon is waning after the Full Moon on the 17th, which is generally thought to be unfavorable for new beginnings, also with some exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, there are a window of opportunity occurs this week from Saturday, the 21st at approximately 4:30 PM EDT, until Sunday, the 22nd, at approximately 6:10 AM EDT, while the Moon is in Taurus.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus trine Jupiter. Friendliness and optimism characterize this transit. We are big-hearted and our feelings are expansive. The outlook is cheerful and hopeful and the atmosphere is cooperative. This is a sociable, perhaps lazy and self-indulgent, time. We easily find meaning in our social connections. We are more open and trusting of friends and lovers. Integrity and loyalty are favored. A favorable influence for winning people’s trust. Speculation, advertising, publishing, and travel are favored.
Venus opposition Chiron. Disappointments in love relationships can occur now as we focus on the differences and weaknesses rather than the strong points. We are more aware, and possibly resentful of, imbalances in our relationships. We are less open to romantic feelings and more insecure about whether our affections will be returned.
Mercury sesquiquadrate Pluto. “Suspicious minds” characterize this transit, although if we harness the energy, we can develop strategies to get to the bottom of any matter. Mistrust, investigations. Some level of mental stress and pressure. A troubled mind.
Mercury opposition Saturn. Our thought patterns take on a negative skew, as we think in pessimistic terms and we communicate sparingly or reluctantly. It’s difficult to trust our instincts, and we second-guess things automatically under this influence. We may need to deal with red tape, re-doing tasks we thought we had finished, problems getting from point A to point B, delays in communication, negative thinking, hyper-sensitivity, and criticism.
Sun trine Uranus. An original, unique approach to life is in order with this transit, and works to our benefit. Flexibility is the key to success at this time, and pleasant changes are in store. We may make some creative changes and discoveries, experiment with new possibilities, or invent a new way of doing things. This is a dynamic and exciting period, one in which taking advantage of unusual or unconventional opportunities may reap rewards.
Venus quincunx Uranus. Impulsive spending, peculiar attractions, fear of commitment, and freedom vs. intimacy issues may be themes now. We might question whether we need more excitement in our relationships (or leisure activities), or whether we need freedom from them; yet we don’t feel confident enough to rock the boat.
Sun opposition Neptune. It’s easy to get lost in fantasy at this time, as we feel somewhat directionless and less able to face everyday realities. Willpower is low. Not a good time for any financial undertaking or formal agreement.
Mercury square Jupiter. Information overload is possible today. It is all too easy to miss or neglect important details. We may exaggerate, have a hard time putting our ideas to practical use, or overstate under this influence. This is an unfavorable transit for travel. Our ideas and plans may be too grandiose just now. We could have a hard time convincing others of our point of view, and we could too easily jump to conclusions. There could be a lot of talk about nothing. Lack of clear mental focus, but we may make measurable progress if we can concentrate.
Venus quincunx Neptune. Under this influence, we are apt to see what we want to see, rather than what actually is, when it comes to both financial affairs and affairs of the heart. Still, we tend to doubt our perceptions of perfection. The end result is a feeling of insecurity on romantic and social levels. Avoid making large purchases and commitments at this time.
Mercury quincunx Chiron. Decisions can be hard to come by under this influence, as we tend to doubt our perceptions or the effectiveness of our ability to solve problems. It can be hard to read the intention behind the words used to communicate now, which can lead to misunderstandings.

SEPTEMBER 15
The Venus-Jupiter trine perfects very early today, and we’re learning about what we like and enjoy. It’s a good time to give one another the benefit of the doubt. Later today, Venus forms biquintiles to Uranus and Saturn, making it a strong time for devising strategies. It’s easier to wait for the right moment to act. There can be a willingness to make sacrifices if it seems the best way to make improvements, and with a game plan, we’re ready to exercise patience. We also recognize and appreciate the unique elements of people, situations, and projects today. Today’s Aquarius Moon is good for objectivity. With a Venus-Saturn parallel, we take our interactions, pleasures, relationships, and money more seriously. This brings a stronger sense of reality and responsibility in our relationships, providing a sense of security and stability.
SEPTEMBER 16
The Moon continues its transit of Aquarius until 5:39 AM EDT, when it moves into Pisces. The Pisces Moon encourages connecting with our inner world. Our attention turns to endings, past matters, and closing projects. The Moon’s trine to Mars helps bring some playfulness, warmth, and enthusiasm to the mix. However, with Venus opposite Chiron today, there can be disappointments as we focus on the differences and weaknesses rather than the strong points in our interactions. This serves as a reminder of the importance of self-awareness in our decision-making process, a key theme of the day’s influences. Temporarily, we’re less confident about our relationships, social life, worth, money, or social skills. We are more aware and possibly resentful of imbalances in our relationships and insecure about whether our affections are reciprocated. There can be some anxiety or troubles with matters concerned with feelings and preferences until we get in touch with our actual needs and wants. It’s important to watch for going along with things we wouldn’t normally do just because we’re not currently decisive.
The Moon is void from 1:04 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Uranus), until the Moon enters Pisces at 5:39 AM EDT.
SEPTEMBER 17
A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse occurs today in the sign of Pisces at 10:35 PM EDT. It’s a time of sudden realizations, epiphanies, culminations, and turning points, particularly related to work and service as well as our need for downtime, rest, and spiritual replenishment. This Lunar Eclipse presses us to look more closely at what we feel is lacking in our lives. Virgo rules the tools and techniques we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools we use to deal with our spiritual selves. The key to balance is identifying and expressing our spiritual needs while maintaining order in our everyday lives. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire–we would either be living in chaos or excessive order. It’s a time to take special note of our dreams and insights or thoughts/emotions that seem to come from “out of the blue”. Secrets may reveal themselves, and these can include discovering secrets within ourselves. For some, a new “calling” will surface in the weeks and months ahead. We may realize that we need more rest or attention to our spiritual natures than we currently allow ourselves. Decisions made now can be emotionally driven. Because one area of our lives is magnified while another is hidden, it’s best to wait and see.
Mercury’s minor challenging aspect with Pluto and upcoming opposition to Saturn suggest difficulties getting our message or directions across smoothly. We should watch for overly critical or cynical communications now, such as harsh feedback, sarcastic remarks, or pessimistic attitudes.
SEPTEMBER 18
Mercury opposes Saturn today, and under this heavy influence, we may communicate harshly, sparingly, or reluctantly. Doubts might slow our decisions, although this can be a helpful process as we take a break from pushing ahead. There can be mental, transportation, or communication blocks. We could meet with some criticism, delays, or challenges to our opinions, ideas, or intelligence. Circumstances are such that we may need to tone down our enthusiasm if our plans are lacking and think in more practical, realistic terms. The Moon moves into Aries at 5:25 AM EDT, and we begin to feel more decisive, craving action. Later today, a Mercury-Chiron biquintile boosts our ability to communicate meaning and intention.
The Moon is void from 5:02 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aries at 5:24 AM EDT.
SEPTEMBER 19
The Sun forms a trine to Uranus this morning, and we celebrate unique expression, new methods, and personal freedom. It’s a time when we find inspiration in unusual or different places. We can experience sudden wins or advances now. We appreciate people, situations, and things that are a little irregular, unusual, or unconventional. This transit can detach us just enough from a situation to move forward. We might make exciting discoveries, and our willingness to take a few creative risks and experiment may be the key to success. We’re encouraged to embrace the new; an original approach to life is appealing and works to our benefit. Getting rid of deadweights is easier under this influence.
We also approach a Saturn-Uranus quintile, exact very early tomorrow. With this transit that first perfected in February, we gravitate to a balance between the new and the old, the tried-and-true and the progressive. This balance reassures us that we can move forward without losing our roots, and it boosts confidence in our ability to adapt. We’re original without going out of our way to be off the wall. We have our feet on the ground as we look for ways to improve. With this aspect in play, we pride ourselves on being calm and steady in the face of change. Saturn will form a quintile to Uranus again in November.
SEPTEMBER 20
Today’s astrology can produce some misjudgments, but we’re learning more about ourselves and our plans in the process. The Sun forms its annual opposition with Neptune, and we can feel directionless or not very up to facing everyday realities. We’ve been paying more attention to service to others and our physical health, and we may need to take a step back for spiritual refreshment. The tendency to put people on a pedestal or glamorize others can come to a head now, extending beyond people to situations and objects. It’s a time for seeking a better balance between action and reflection. We are more sensitive and vulnerable today but prone to misperceiving people or situations. We might watch for projecting our unrealized dreams or wishes onto others. With willpower low and perceptions off, there are better times for major financial undertakings or formal agreements. Venus is quincunx Uranus today, and impulsive spending, peculiar attractions, fear of commitment, and freedom vs. intimacy issues may be themes now. We might question whether we need more excitement in our relationships or freedom from them, yet we don’t feel confident enough to rock the boat. Taming rebelliousness makes sense now. We’re also heading toward a Mercury-Jupiter square, which can further skew our judgment.
The Moon is void from 4:39 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Pluto), until the Moon enters Taurus at 5:03 AM EDT.
SEPTEMBER 21
Perceptions continue to be a little off today. With Mercury’s square to Jupiter this morning, we’re not short on ideas, but it’s hard to narrow things down for now. We might be overshooting. It’s best to watch for toxic positivity, too much speculation, and/or a lack of practicality. With Mercury also forming a quincunx to Chiron, it’s not easy to read the intention behind the words used to communicate, which can lead to minor misunderstandings. This aspect is tricky and can suggest some doubts and sensitivity. As well, with a quincunx between Venus and Neptune, we might want to see things realistically on the one hand and prefer to nurture a fantasy or look the other way on the other. Under this influence, there can be insecurity or doubts about others or our own feelings and perceptions. Indecision is possible.
However, we approach a Sun-Pluto trine, exact early into the day tomorrow, which can help us pull everything together. We naturally take on challenges, but we also turn to strategy rather than jump into anything rashly. This transit encourages us focus, and delving deeply into a matter can be satisfying and rewarding. We’re exceptionally resourceful and efficient under this influence. It sets up just the right energy for gravitating toward people and situations that help us succeed or advance our goals. Shared goals and interests connect us with others. The focus now is on eliminating negative elements in our lives, particularly in pursuing work or health goals so that we can advance with more conviction. This transit encourages cooperation and practical ability.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Aquarius
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
When the Moon is in Pisces
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
When the Moon is in Taurus
We are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and "stop to smell the roses." Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence.
While the Moon is in Taurus, people can be emotionally constant but inflexible. It's a time of stronger focus on personal needs and comfort levels, and a period of more common sense and attention to practical matters.
The Moon in Taurus generally favors the following activities: Substantial and material actions that yield solid results. Financial activities, and those involving personal possessions, applying for a loan, beginning a potentially long-term relationship, music, home decor.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Virgo You’re coming into a new cycle centered on taking what you know and what you’ve got and then making the most of it in the real world. Assimilating information and experience, learning lessons and putting them into practice – that’s the focus as this cycle unfolds. It’s a time for prudence and stewardship, a time to tend to the details. You probably already have the grand ideals and visions: now you must get your hands dirty with the bricks and mortar and your mind busy with putting it all together.
Mercury in Virgo Mental discipline and patience are keynoted as you enter into a new cycle. Thinking things through, accounting for all the details, making careful measurements: these and similar experiences keep your mind active and involved. An interest in health and work may come to the fore.
Mars in Cancer Defensive, aren’t we? With this new cycle getting underway, protecting and preserving you and yours takes on a higher than usual priority. A sensitivity to the needs and wants of others and an appreciation for their frailties (as well as your own) makes you more cautious and conservative … you pick your battles with care.
Jupiter in Gemini Facilitating the transfer of ideas and information takes on a special priority for you now. Writing, studying, and communicating play a bigger role in your life as a result. The belief that well-informed people will make the right decisions becomes an article of faith. Just remember: sometimes people know the right thing to do and STILL do something different!
Saturn in Pisces Making peace with the past, coming to terms with karmic debts: these are some of the issues that confront you as a new phase begins in your life. Failure to face these things can cause setbacks and put obstacles in your path. Learn to look beyond the narrowly personal and selfish or you’ll get in over your head.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small, but has bigger consequences than you’d think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place…
