This Month in Astrology – June 2026

On June 12th, Uranus forms a square with the Nodes of the Moon, and we can experience restlessness with the status quo. Differences in opinion, particularly about technology, community, friendship, individuality, or our general direction, can be especially divisive, perhaps damaging or severing friendships and alliances. Instead, changes on social and technological levels can alter our paths and relationships. Going against the grain and stirring disapproval can be themes now. Cooperation doesn’t come as naturally at this time.

On June 14th, the New Moon in Gemini prompts a new beginning–we’re starting fresh, particularly with our communications and mental orientation. By consciously tuning in to positive Gemini energy, we learn through others simply by being curious, and we improve our social and communication skills at the same time. On June 19th, Chiron enters Taurus. Chiron is now in the sign of Taurus after spending many years in the sign of Aries, though Chiron’s not quite finished with Aries! This is because Chiron will begin its retrograde at a very early point in its transit of Taurus and will head back into Aries in September. It won’t be until April 2027 when Chiron resumes its transit of Taurus consistently.

While Chiron is in Taurus, we’ll be rebuilding our sense of self-worth. Sensitive points include our feelings about comfort, indulgence, money, personal belongings, and our values. On June 29th, Mercury turns retrograde in the sign of Cancer, and with Mercury remaining in the sign of Cancer throughout the retrograde, it also means Mercury is in Cancer for some time–until August 9th. However, Mercury will be retrograde until July 23rd. Something similar happened in June/July 2020.

Mercury in Cancer is insular by nature as it is, and with the slowdown and then retrograde, it is even more so. This is an excellent period for getting in touch with what nurtures us and feeds our spirits. Emotional communication is not always valued as much as rational approaches in our society, and now is the time to explore our more intimate, sympathetic, and emotional nature and how it affects our decision-making processes.

Mercury enters its shadow phase on June 12th, so that issues encountered, conversations, and projects started then and forward are likely to come up for review later. On June 29th, a Full Moon occurs in Capricorn, bringing sudden awareness to our lives, particularly of areas that require more balance. This lunation reminds us that we can’t ignore our commitments to the outside world. We need to take care of our responsibilities, attend to business, act maturely, and take charge. Solid, practical, and doable ideas are associated with the realizations and epiphanies occurring now.

This Full Moon forms squares to Neptune and Saturn, suggesting some tension created from skewed expectations or swinging between rigidity and impracticality or fuzzy thinking. We should watch for revelations now that lead to a detour from our goals or to misinformation. On June 30th, Jupiter enters Leo, beginning a new cycle that will last over a year–until July 26th, 2027. In Leo, Jupiter motivates us to express ourselves confidently, to be generous and creative, and to find new ways to enjoy ourselves. We make our own opportunities, and we attract the most good fortune when we express magnanimity, conduct ourselves with dignity and sincerity, and avoid the pitfall of excessive egotism.

Particularly prosperous areas are creative ones, entertainment, children, and recreation.
