The FULL MOON occurs on Friday, June 9, 2017, at 9:11 AM EDT.
On Friday morning, a Full Moon occurs when the Gemini Sun opposes the Moon in Sagittarius. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon approximately two weeks ago. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Gemini-Sagittarius polarity is a mental axis, where Gemini represents the “lower mind” and Sagittarius represents the “higher mind”. The Gemini Sun encourages us to think logically, while the Sagittarius Moon persuades us to intuit and to think in a broader manner. Sagittarius symbolizes the quest for meaning and ideas that expand upon the “here and now.” Gemini is quite comfortable in his or her immediate environment or neighborhood, while Sagittarius stimulates us to venture beyond it. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do.
This Full Moon is about communication, attitude, and our sense of adventure. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.
The lunation illuminates this conflict between logic and intuition/faith. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is fresh, unrefined, and not particularly rational as yet.
This Full Moon forms a square with Neptune, and revelations now might lead to a detour from our goals. We should watch for misinformation. This is a time for opening ourselves up to possibilities, but finalizing plans should probably be saved for a later date. The Sun is at the midpoint of Mercury and Mars and trine to Jupiter, pointing to a real desire to understand or master a situation, but the square to Neptune and opposition to Saturn point to a possible block, obstacle, or to incomplete information or lack of readiness. Watch for too-quick decisions, but do pay close attention to what’s illuminated now.
This phase of the Moon occurs at 18 degrees and 53 minutes of Sagittarius opposite the Sun at 18 degrees and 53 minutes of Gemini, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 15 to 23 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.

(Times are Eastern)
The Sun is in Gemini; Mercury is in Taurus until June 6th when it enters Gemini; Venus is in Aries until June 6th when it enters Taurus; Mars is in Gemini until June 4th when it enters Cancer.
The Sun is in Gemini from May 20-June 21. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. We tend to scatter our energies as a result of this curiosity and awareness of all of our options. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.
Mercury is in Taurus from May 16-June 6. When Mercury is in Taurus, our thinking is down to earth, solid, and grounded. Common sense reigns over more fanciful thinking. We communicate more deliberately under this influence, and our minds are oriented to the world of the five senses. We prefer the tried and true rather than new ways of thinking. Attention to one thing at a time can simplify our lives, but we may be in danger of narrow, overly conservative, or rigid thinking.
Mercury is in Gemini from June 6-21. When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable. Mercury feels right at home in Gemini, one of the signs that it rules. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining a superficial knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic. We are especially astute when it comes to arguing or making a point. We are attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations. We are easily distracted.
Venus is in Aries from April 28-June 6. In Aries, love is spontaneous and direct. The chase is very exciting to us under this fiery influence. We are bold, fresh, and a little impatient when it comes to matters of the heart. We don’t look back with Aries energy. We are not interested in saying sorry or dwelling on the past. It’s a brand new day! It’s time to make things work right now. Aries is known for a love of the chase and the conquest, but Aries love can be longstanding as long as it remains relatively fresh. Aries is blunt–there’s no sugar-coating with Aries. This can sting, but rarely is Aries energy mean or petty. Saying it like it is is important to Aries. Desires are strong and expressed spontaneously, enthusiastically, and directly. Aries prefers to seduce rather than be seduced, to chase rather than be chased.
Venus is in Taurus from June 6- July 4. In Taurus, Venus is very sensual (naturally), content, and possessive. We seek security and value that which lasts. Our appetite for pleasure is strong. Taurus values the here and the now as well as the world of the five senses. Tangible and physical expressions of love and romance are most important now. Holding on to someone we love is our tendency under Venus in Taurus. The shadow side of this is excessive possessiveness and treating our partners as objects that we own or want to own. On the financial side, Venus in Taurus looks for high-quality, solid, practical, and long-lasting items. Holding on to our possessions is more likely now.
Mars is in Gemini from April 21-June 4. In Gemini, Mars is considerably more versatile and flexible–and considerably less determined and focused! Our interests become more diversified, possibly to the point of going off on so many tangents that we are scattered and ineffective.
Mars is in Cancer from June 4-July 20. We pursue our interests ardently, but we avoid a direct approach to going after we want. As well, our goals and plans are subject to mood swings and vacillations. We are defensive rather than overtly aggressive. Much of what we do depends on our mood of the moment.
Saturn transits Sagittarius from December 23, 2014, to June 14, 2015, and then from September 17, 2015, to December 20, 2017. Read about Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius here.
Jupiter entered Libra on September 9th, 2016, and will transit Libra until October 10, 2017. Read about Jupiter in Libra here.
Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011 and will transit Aries until May 15, 2018, and then from November 6, 2018, to March 6, 2019. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Aries from April 28 -June 6.
Venus is in Taurus from June 6-July 4. In Taurus, Venus is usually quite content but can be possessive.
This week: On Monday morning, a Venus-Neptune semi-square points to some tendencies to project our fantasies, whether these are positive or negative, onto others or relationships. Watch for deception and self-deception now. On Thursday and Friday, we are more likely than usual to seek out love, connect, create, and interact, feeding off the energy that our relationships and others give us. It’s a great time for enhancing or pursuing a relationship.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Aries Romance at the drop of a hat is part and parcel of the cycle you have just begun. Winning the hearts of others can be a challenge you’re eager to accept – and the thrill of the chase might be most of the fun. Is it the pursuit of happiness – or the happiness of pursuit?
Venus in Taurus June 6-July 4. A love of music, an appreciation for sensual pleasures and others of the finer things in life – such are the signs of the cycle which has begun for you. This is aesthetic and artistic to be sure, but it is also practical and materialistic: you develop a keen appreciation for the value of things, including the money it takes to buy them.
Venus semi-square Neptune June 5. Romantic confusion as well as relationship ups and downs. Self-deception may come to light now.
Venus parallel Uranus June 8. We embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit. Peculiar, sudden, or avant-garde attractions. This is an exciting but unstable energy. Friendship in love relationships becomes more important.
Venus sextile Mars June 8-9. This points to success and ease in close personal interactions. We are passionate and sexy. It is a good time for financial ventures, social life, artistic pursuits, romance, and pleasure. We are now able to take the initiative and to achieve harmony and sexual fulfillment. This influence brings satisfaction to the feelings. We may make permanent ties or relationships that prove to be fruitful and fortunate.
Venus sesquiquadrate Saturn June 15. Feelings of isolation, of not getting what we really want, and of not being loved the way we want to be loved can get in the way of pleasant relations with our partners.
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology). Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, June 5th, from 4:58 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Venus), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 6:47 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Tuesday, June 6th, from 8:36 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Pluto), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Wednesday, June 7th, at 7:01 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Saturday, June 10th, from 2:21 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Uranus), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:37 AM EDT.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Mercury quincunx Saturn. Communication challenges today make it hard to get a point across. Delays, “red tape”, and vague feelings of forgetting important details.
Sun square Neptune. Concentrating on artistic or spiritual pursuits is better than focusing on things that require straightforward, factual thinking today. It can be difficult knowing where or how to direct your willpower under this influence. It’s also a challenge knowing where you stand with others. Avoid such things as scheduling surgery, important appointments, job interviews, or launches of new projects at this time.
Venus semi-square Neptune. Happiness is addictive under this influence. We tend to see what we want to see. Glossing over the more realistic points, details, and flaws of circumstances and of people provides us with instant gratification. However, it’s wise to hold off on making important purchases, or natalizing a relationship until the veil lifts. Take care with legal, financial, and social involvements, contracts, or formal agreements under this dreamy influence.
Mercury sesquiquadrate Jupiter. We experience information overload, and we neglect to consider details. People tend to exaggerate today.
Mercury sextile Chiron. This is an excellent period for opening up communications with others, as we are more sensitive than usual and more willing to listen. Getting our point across is easier, as it’s not only about which words we choose to communicate, we intuitively express the meaning and intention behind the words. We can effectively use words to heal and comfort just now. We are also more open to new ways of looking at problems or at life in general.
Mercury sesquiquadrate Pluto. “Suspicious minds” characterize this transit, although if we harness the energy, we can develop strategies to get to the bottom of any matter. Mistrust, investigations. Some level of mental stress and pressure. A troubled mind.
Sun quincunx Pluto. Adjustments are necessary now in order for our lives to move forward. The need to make changes in our life that will further our psychological development arise now.
Venus sextile Mars. This points to success and ease in close personal interactions. We are feeling passionate, warm, expressive, lively and sexy. Our creativity and desire to make something beautiful is stimulated now.

JUNE 4
Early today, Mercury forms a quincunx to Saturn and suggests communication challenges that make it hard to get our point across, or to get from point A to B without hassle. It can also lead to mental blocks or difficult decisions. The Moon is in Libra all day, and we can be primarily focused on getting our lives or surroundings to a state of better balance. The Sun’s square to Neptune today can weaken our resolve until we incorporate imagination or spirituality into our approach. There can be some temporary loss of focus or confusion about our direction. We may have a hard time defining our actions and our goals, perhaps losing sight of reality and reason for now. This can be a time for increased spiritual awareness, imagination, and inspiration, although we might first struggle with this. Mars enters Cancer today, where it will transit until July 20th. We are, generally speaking, cautious and conservative under this influence, but we will fight for, about, or on behalf of those people and things that are dearest to our heart.
JUNE 5
The Moon continues its transit of Libra until 6:47 AM EDT when it enters Scorpio. The Scorpio Moon is more focused and intense and less preoccupied with justice and harmony. This morning’s semi-square between Venus and Neptune extends yesterday’s fog and affects our perception of value, of people and things. There is a tendency to gloss over problems or to see what we want to see, imagining the best or the worst when the truth is somewhere in between. This evening, Mercury forms a minor challenging aspect to Jupiter and then harmonizes with Chiron. We can have some difficulty concentrating on routine matters. There may be a tendency to make more out of something than is necessary. However, we have good intentions, and warm, healthy conversations are possible tonight. We take a more holistic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
A void of course Moon occurs from 4:58 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Venus), until the Moon enters Scorpio at 6:47 AM EDT.
JUNE 6
Both Venus and Mercury both new signs today, and both enter signs they rule. Venus enters Taurus and will transit the sign until July 4th. In Taurus, Venus is sensual, content, and acquiring. We seek security and value that which lasts. Our appetite for pleasure is strong. Taurus appreciates the here and the now as well as the world of the five senses. Tangible and physical expressions of love and romance are most important to us now. Holding on to someone we love is our tendency under this influence. The shadow side of this is excessive possessiveness and treating our partners as objects that we own or want to own. On the financial side, Venus in Taurus looks for high-quality, dependable, practical, and long-lasting items. Holding on to our possessions is most likely now. Venus performs well in Taurus. Also today, Mercury enters Gemini, where it will transit until June 21st. When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable, although easily distracted. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining some knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic. We are particularly astute when it comes to arguing or making a point, and we’re attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations. The Moon continues its transit of Scorpio all day, forming mostly harmonious aspects and finding easy release or expression.
A void of course Moon occurs from 8:36 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Pluto), until the Moon enters Sagittarius the next day, Wednesday, June 7th, at 7:01 PM EDT.
JUNE 7
The Moon is in Scorpio until 7:01 PM EDT and is void all day, making it a time for reflection, rest, and editing rather than new beginnings. All that is hidden, taboo, secret, or suppressed interests us under the influence of a Scorpio Moon. We are fascinated with what others hide, avoid, or repress, and we‘re drawn to understanding these things. We might seek out more intense or transformative experiences now. The Moon enters Sagittarius at 7:01 PM, where it will transit until Saturday morning, stimulating a desire to break out of our shells and our routines. We may take a more philosophical and less strategic or psychological approach to life now.
The Moon continues its void period until it enters Sagittarius at 7:01 PM EDT.
JUNE 8
With Mercury and Pluto in a minor challenging aspect today, we have a rather suspicious or critical way of looking at how things work. If others aren’t agreeing with our ideas or adopting our methods, we might take it as a personal affront. We may be tempted to manipulate others or situations in an attempt to control responses, which can lead to unnecessary stress or pressure. There is a tendency to suspect ulterior motives too readily now. Used well, however, this can be a good time for developing strategies and for investigating matters more deeply. The Moon spends the day in Sagittarius, which can help lift us above minor issues, and its sextile to Jupiter in Libra points to the desire to give one another the benefit of the doubt. However, with the Sun and Pluto moving towards a quincunx, it may not be enough to steer us completely away from rumination or worry.
JUNE 9
This is an astrologically busy day. The Sun forms a quincunx to Pluto, and we might have a hard time focusing on the positive, temporarily, due to fears, worry, and tension about things not quite in our control weighing us down. A Full Moon occurs in the sign of Sagittarius this morning, bringing emotions to the surface. Epiphanies can happen now, likely related to beliefs, intuition, and faith. We can quite suddenly see the big picture, and this can lead to important revelations. We should be particularly vigilant about misinformation and check our facts, however, as we may become bent out of shape about something before we have all the information we need to make the right decision. There can be a real desire to understand or master a situation, but there is a block, obstacle, incomplete information, or lack of readiness to deal with first. Watch for too-quick decisions, but do pay close attention to what‘s illuminated now. Also today, Jupiter stations direct. Gradually over the next few weeks, matters ruled by Jupiter will move forward in a more straightforward manner. Our confidence in ourselves and the universe builds. Our faith and perspective expand, although as this shift occurs, issues can seem larger than life, contributing to the exaggeration theme surrounding the Full Moon. A Venus-Mars sextile is subtle and may appear to hide behind other active influences, but does present us with opportunities today if we look for them, particularly with creative pursuits, financial ventures, and social relationships. The Moon is in Sagittarius all day.
JUNE 10
The Moon continues its transit of Sagittarius until 7:37 AM EDT when it enters Capricorn. With a Capricorn Moon, we strive for increased self-sufficiency. We’re more goal-oriented and particularly aware of our responsibilities and performance. Our judgment is sound, and practical matters are a large focus. While the Moon’s opposition to Mars this afternoon can point to tension, distraction, and some impatience if we’ve taken on too much, we’re in a generally good place for finding wisdom in traditional methods, and it’s a strong time for bringing structure and robust design to our projects. With the possible exception of the afternoon, this is also an excellent time for decision-making.
A void of course Moon occurs from 2:21 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Uranus), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:37 AM EDT.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others’ approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it’s passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won’t work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it’s an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don’t want to plan ahead, and prefer to “wing it”.
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve “winging it”, travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
When the Moon is in Capricorn
We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don’t want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence–even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.
The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
This Week’s Planetary Positions By Sign (General Trends)
Sun in Gemini The cycle which begins for you now will be marked by a more intense focus on mental and communicative activity than you may ever have experienced before. It’s a time of more involvement with other people, a time for gathering information, and a time when you’re apt to be more on the go than ever. There is likely to be an emphasis on reading, writing, studying, and all forms of exchanging information with others in the years ahead – and it will all serve as a path for self-discovery and personal development.
Mercury in Taurus “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” – that’s the key to the way you think at a time like this. Practical, utilitarian ideas are the ones that make the most sense now – putting them to good use is a focus for you. Material things are foremost on your mind in many respects: an emphasis on the real rather than the ideal.
Mercury in Gemini A walking encyclopedia, a yen to know a little bit about everything (and everyone): these are the icons of the cycle you have just begun. Talking, writing, keeping a finger on the pulse of all that’s happening … this is a time of study and learning, a cycle of mental challenge, curiosity, and social/intellectual growth. Such things are an end in themselves rather than a means to any other end.
Venus in Taurus A love of music, an appreciation for sensual pleasures and others of the finer things in life – such are the signs of the cycle which has begun for you. This is aesthetic and artistic to be sure, but it is also practical and materialistic: you develop a keen appreciation for the value of things, including the money it takes to buy them.
Mars in Gemini Learning, communicating, the exchange of ideas: these are the experiences you crave as a means to make your mark now, as a new phase begins in your life. You’re a person with something to say, and you realize that others have information that is essential to your goals. A time of much mental energy and initiative … perhaps with an element of conflict tossed in for good measure.
Mars in Cancer Defensive, aren’t we? With this new cycle getting underway, protecting and preserving you and yours takes on a higher than usual priority. A sensitivity to the needs and wants of others and an appreciation for their frailties (as well as your own) makes you more cautious and conservative … you pick your battles with care.
Jupiter in Libra The ties that bind, the harmonious integration of opposites, the perfect balance: these are the keys to your greatest opportunities now. Marriage and other close personal relationships tend to offer bright prospects, and you have a deep yearning to experience the fulfillment they can bring.
Saturn in Sagittarius The new phase now beginning in your life brings a need to break out of narrow concepts and legalistic philosophical or religious ideas. Remember: “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.” Opportunities to broaden your mental horizons may not come with ease, but they are essential if you are to avoid a kind of spiritual stagnation.
Uranus in Aries A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable – and let nothing stand in its way.
