Void of Course Dates this Month
The New Moon that occurred last month on the 23rd was in the sign of Cancer and influences much of July. We can tune into the more positive energies of the sign of the Crab. This is a time for feeding our foundation – all of that which we call “home”, including the foundation we have built inside of ourselves, needs to be tended to and honored. It’s a time for recognizing the importance of our family and our personal circle of friends and the security, sense of belonging, and safety we derive from them. There can be a lot of talks and thought involved now as well as the desire to put our ideas into motion. We have the wherewithal and courage to pursue our desires and stick with our plans, but we should avoid jumping the gun. Chiron turns retrograde on July 1st and will remain retrograde until December 4th. This cycle is good for introspection and for reassessing mental and physical health programs in our lives. We tend to look within for healing. On July 5th, Jupiter is quincunx Neptune – the last of three perfections of this aspect that first occurred in October. This is a final push to resolve issues revolving around difficulties with limits and boundaries. We may feel disorganized and it can be difficult to stick to a routine or to find satisfaction with our current pursuits. There can be a strong desire or need to help others now, but we may not know how to do so and feel guilty for escapist tendencies or for not being as effective as we’d like. There is a tendency to take the easy way out, but consequences are likely to be faced by doing so. We may be misled by wishful thinking or invest in impractical ideas and plans. A Full Moon (Buck Moon) occurs on July 9th in the sign of Capricorn, reminding us that we can’t ignore our commitments to the outside world in the process. We are reminded to take care of our responsibilities, tend to business, act maturely, and take charge. It falls along a Mars-Pluto opposition, suggesting some frustration with current situations, particularly if we’ve felt we didn’t have enough control, and can point to some resentment to deal with related to our discoveries and realizations. Events and circumstances now can serve as a reality check – a reminder of the importance of our responsibilities and commitments. The New Moon on the 23rd occurs early in the sign of Leo. This is a time to uncover and share our unique, creative powers – that which makes us special. We might aim to allow our “inner child” to come out and play, and possibly commit to plans related to games, sports, recreation, speculation, hobbies, children, romance, and dating. This New Moon aligns with Mars and forms a square with Uranus, and we should avoid rebellious moves and pushing too hard or too fast.

MercuryWith Mercury ahead of the Sun, we have a generally objective approach to processing and communicating information. Mercury transits Leo from the 5th to 25th and then moves through Virgo for the rest of July. When Mercury is in Leo, our focus is on the goal and not necessarily the details. When Mercury is in Virgo, we aim for more precision in speech and thought. This is a time when we analyze and decide what is useful and what we deem to be impractical.

VenusVenus continues its transit of Taurus until the 4th — a comfortable, content, and sensual cycle. It’s also a time for paying more attention to the value of things (and people). Venus transits Gemini from the 4-31. Venus is curious and sociable, but possibly quite fickle as well, in the mutable Air sign of Gemini. She encourages us to reach out to others and to make connections – to “get over ourselves” and our issues in order to make contact for the sake of connecting to people around us. Venus enters Cancer on the 31st and will transit the sign until August 26th — a sentimental and affectionate, but also self-protective, influence. We crave familiarity and security in love. |
MarsMars continues its transit of Cancer until the 20th and we are rather cautious and conservative under this influence. We will fight for those people and things that are dearest to our heart. We are less likely to move straightforwardly towards our desires with Mars in Cancer, but we will make plans and strategies, and then pursue what it is we want quite effectively. The 2nd and 17th can be times of challenging authority or oppressive circumstances. Mars begins its transit of Leo on the 20th. In Leo, Mars is proud, self-confident, and grand. We go after what we want in a direct, self-assured manner, desiring dramatic results. We prefer not to worry about details, and take the least complicated route to our goals. Passion for life is high. |
