Void of Course Dates this Month
The New Moon that energized Aquarius on January 27th colors much of February. A feeling of a “fresh start” in our lives is with us. We are awakened to a need for a vision, for socializing and brainstorming, for expressing feelings of friendship, and for developing more objectivity in our lives. Jupiter is the first planet to break the “no retrograde” spell as it turns retrograde on the 6th. Slowing down certain projects or plans may be appropriate in order to gain perspective. Initially, our enthusiasm and confidence might wane, and we may experience a crisis of faith or hope. “Luck” may be less overt during this period that lasts from February 6th to June 9th, but it’s a good time for looking within and reassessing recent plans and goals. There are two eclipses this month falling along two different sign axes. The first is a Lunar Eclipse in Leo on the 10th – one of the newest set of eclipses falling along the Leo-Aquarius axis – stimulating a crisis of lack–a time when we suddenly realize a great need or want. This is a time when matters come to light–things that have been brewing under the surface. Full Moons are always good for magnifying pre-existing problems so that we can see where to bring back balance. With the Leo-Aquarius axis involved, our larger work should be on reaching a good balance between focus on personal enjoyment and our need for community and altruism. Enlightenment now provides us with a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs, which can ultimately lead to positive actions and decisions. There can be heightened awareness of flaws in our romantic relationships, relationships with children, and creative activities. There can also be an urgent or sudden need/desire to express ourselves. A quincunx between Jupiter and Chiron occurs on the 14th. This aspect first formed exactly in December and will perfect again in September. There can be some questioning of our goals, beliefs, or faith, as doubt and uncertainty are likely now. We may feel a little lost and susceptible to influence. If we are not self-aware, we might push impractical ideas and projects ahead, only to face obstacles. Circumstances are such that we need to make adjustments to our plans and goals. We may need to tame expectations of ourselves and of others if they are unreasonably high. We might need to examine our beliefs more closely before we can strengthen our conviction. The Solar Eclipse in Pisces on the 26th is the last of the set of eclipses falling along the Virgo-Pisces axis. It can be seen as the final cosmic push to improve our work-life balance and to take care of both physical and mental health. In the sign of Pisces, imagination, service, dreams, ideals, and compassion will be in focus. Our coping skills, faith, and dreams may be challenged. Flaws in an important system in our lives are revealed around the time of the eclipse, prompting us to redo or to start fresh. We may be called to give up something in order to move forward into a new chapter in our lives. This is a good time to revitalize ourselves through experiences that require imagination and compassion.

Mercury
After a lengthy transit of Capricorn, Mercury enters Aquarius on the 7th, and we are seeking truth, and not afraid to stir up some controversy in order to find it. We are less impressed with what is tried and true, and more interested in improvement and innovation. Mercury is in particularly good shape in Aquarius this month as it harmonizes with Venus, Mars, Uranus, Jupiter, and Saturn – an exceptional number of planets represeneting multile opportunities to express ourselves. Mercury transits Pisces from the 25th forward, and we are absorbing subtle and subliminal cues. We express ourselves more imaginatively and sensitively, but we may be a little foggy when it comes to details, commitments, and finalities.

Venus
Venus enters Aries on the 3rd. There can be a great love of all that is new, fresh, and unexplored with this position, and with Mars, the ruler of Aries, in Aries all month, we can be particularly decisive when it comes who and what to pursue. Venus is heading to a retrograde cycle that begins in early March, however, and some of the things we rush into now may face some delays or turnarounds later. |
Mars
Mars transits Aries all month. This is a self-centered, me-first, spontaneous, and direct energy. We seek out a challenge, and we aim to win or come out on top, but we can also be quite impulsive. Mars’ alignment with Uranus and opposition to Jupiter on the 26-27 help us to see opportunities, but we should watch for going over the top as well as impulsiveness and a tendency to run over others’ feelings in pursuit of our desires. |
