The New Moon on the last day of July in the sign of Leo continues to affect us in August, setting the tone. This is a time to uncover and share our unique, creative powers – that which makes us special. We might aim to allow our “inner child” to come out and play, and possibly commit to plans related to games, sports, recreation, speculation, hobbies, children, romance, and dating.
Jupiter turns direct on August 11th. This can represent a turning of the corner with certain projects and relationships as well as attitude–we enjoy increased enthusiasm. With Jupiter direct, our confidence in ourselves, our beliefs, and the universe builds. Especially with Saturn concurrently retrograde, we are more lighthearted now. We’re ready to share ourselves and what we’ve learned with others.
Uranus turns retrograde on the 11th, however, and this is a season for a more conservative approach to pursuing our goals. While Uranus is retrograde (until January 10, 2020), our desire to make changes in our lives can be turned inward as we get in touch with what it is that may be holding us back from living more spontaneously and authentically. This is a less rebellious time, generally speaking. At least when it comes to appearances, we tend to follow the rules.
The Full Moon occurring on the 15th is in the sign of Aquarius. We are reminded of our needs for friendship, community, as well as impartiality and objectivity. We cannot lose sight of our larger goals and our need to give back to the community or group that supports us. Mercury leaves its post-retrograde shadow on the same day.
Mars enters Virgo on the 18th, Venus on the 21st, the Sun on the 23rd, and Mercury on the 29th. By the time of the New Moon in Virgo on the 30th, all personal planets are in Virgo! All of these bodies harmonize with Uranus in Taurus. The New Moon promises us opportunities to take charge of our lives through organizing, editing, and refining work as well as better attention to health. This is a fertile and productive time. Mercury, Virgo’s ruler, is direct and out of its shadow, and is also in the sign of Virgo. This is a brilliant time for gently freeing ourselves from limiting circumstances and finding more joy through our daily routines, work, or pursuit of health.
