The Sun continues to move through your solar first house. You experience a renewal of energy and vitality now, and it's a strong time for increased personal confidence. The emphasis is on self-expression, what kind of impression you make on others, and beginning new personal projects.

You are a little more self-centered than usual, and this is quite natural and healthy as long as you don't take it too far. You are more decisive and forward-looking now, and you put more faith in your own abilities. Physically, you are likely feeling strong. This is an excellent cycle for making personal changes in your manner or appearance, and for any self-improvement endeavors. Personal projects that you begin now are likely to blossom nine months down the road.

From December 11th forward:

The Sun highlights your second house now, and your focus is on material affairs and comfort issues. Security is a driving force for you at the moment, and you might find that you are especially interested in accumulating possessions. What you have and what you don't have come into focus--what makes you feel comfortable, your sense of security, and what you value.

This is the time of year when personal finances and possessions receive maximum attention. Pour your energy into your work and your finances, and you might just be able to take your ideas to the bank.

Extravagance with your pocketbook is something you may want to look out for, however. If you find yourself itching to make unnecessary purchases, know that at the root of this urge is the desire to pamper and comfort yourself. Nothing wrong with it, but there are inexpensive (and even free) ways to make yourself feel good.

The Solar Eclipse marks a new beginning for you. Letting go of the past is necessary in order to move forward. This eclipse occurs in your solar first house, suggesting a new approach to your personal life, the manner in which you come across to others, and the way you assert yourself. A focus on ways to improve or enhance your appearance and mannerisms may be part of the picture in the coming months, as well as a sense of renewal and reinvigoration with regards to how you assert your needs and express yourself to others.

This is a phase when you have an increased awareness of your own needs. It's a very powerful time for you--a time to reinvent yourself in some personal way, such as with a new look or manner of expressing and presenting yourself.

This is a personally busy time of year, when you feel energetic and enthusiastic. Think about how you present yourself to others, focus on changing personal habits in such a way as to improve your confidence in yourself, and concentrate on putting your best foot forward, as this is a time when you will get noticed and make a personal impression on others.

However, factor in the importance of authenticity in your presentation of yourself. Venus is retrograde from December 19th to January 29th: 

Venus retrograde in general: As the planet of love and values, Venus retrograde periods are periods during which we re-assess what--and who--we value. It is a period that most astrologers consider inopportune for getting married or starting a new relationship. Major financial undertakings are not advised during this period as well.

Venus retrograde cycles are good times for creating budgets and financial plans, and for re-thinking our personal relationships. Old friends and lovers may re-appear, perhaps complicating current relationships. We are called upon to deal with relationship issues from the past. Events occur that seem fated or predestined.

It can be a real challenge getting close to a lover during this period of time. Unorthodox, experimental, and non-intimate relationships may be favored. Relationships that have been especially challenging may come to an end during this cycle.

However, strong relationships will survive it, even if there are a few bumps and bruises along the way. For singles, this is a good time for "eyes wide open" or experimental dating. It is not a time when people recognize the need for another person to complete them, or some people may be questioning whether they are with partners who actually fulfill them. This period is good for re-evaluating our relationship needs; but, again, major love decisions are best saved for after the cycle ends.

This Venus Retrograde cycle occurs in your third house of communication, siblings, and neighbors. You may withdraw from chit-chatting during this period, and this might alienate a few people, especially siblings and perhaps neighbors.

Conversely, you might find it hard to derive satisfaction from these people, or from learning situations in general. Communications may seem insincere. In fact, you may have a hard time getting your ideas across in a warm, genuine manner. You may be misreading body language as well.

Mercury continues to transit your solar first house. During this cycle, you are more communicative than usual. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that conversations are at their best right now, simply because you are more interested in expressing yourself than listening! You are especially alert and a little cerebral now. You have a receptive audience for your ideas.

From the 7-26: 

With Mercury in your solar second house, this is a strong period for analyzing your cash flow, income, and earning power. You are more practical and rational in your approach to finances during this period. With your conscious mind focused on money and possessions, as well as personal values, this can be a strong period for gathering new money-making ideas.

Alternatively, it could be a time when you tend to fret over your finances. Conversations tend to be practical rather than frivolous now. Financial gain may come through communications.

From the 26th forward: 

Mercury is right at home in the third house and offers a natural curiosity, facility with words, and the ability to multi-task successfully. More time spent on the phone, writing emails, in the car making short frequent trips, chatting, running errands, communicating with neighbors and siblings, visiting friends and relatives, and doing paperwork is likely now. There can also be a tendency to fuss over insignificant matters now, however.

You might recognize a line of study, personal interest, or another "calling" that's a better fit for you.
