Sun parallel Venus
When the Sun is parallel to Venus in the Natal Chart
The alignment of the Sun and Venus in declination (forming the parallel aspect) brings refinement to the nature. You seek balance, harmony, and love, and you are generally quite put off by vulgarity. You prefer to attract than pursue; to compromise than fight; to gently coerce than demand.
While you are generally quite affectionate, you may not be as forthcoming unless you know your feelings are returned. You can be charming, graceful, and gracious. You have a very likable quality that draws others to you. Part of this is your ability to listen, put yourself in others’ shoes, and include others. Socializing can be energizing and validating for you. Certainly, you’re a people person, and even if it’s from afar, you take a great interest in others.
There is some tendency to keep an emotional distance from others and to be passive at times when later, you might regret not putting yourself out.

What is a parallel?
Planets with the same or near-same declination are parallel to each other. Astrologers usually apply an orb or allowance of 1 degree for the parallel and contra-parallel. While a conjunction is an alignment in zodiacal longitude, the parallel is an alignment in the positions North or South of the celestial equator.
An example declination value is 8 N 23, or 4 S 54. A declination of zero degrees means the body is on the celestial equator.
For instance, if the Sun is at 15 N 30 and Venus is at 16 N 18, they are said to be parallel, as they are within a 1-degree orb of alignment. Parallels occur between planets and points that are both North or both South. If, in this example, Venus were at 16 S 18, the Sun and Venus would be considered contra-parallel.
Note that the parallel often accompanies the conjunction, strengthening the combination greatly. However, it also occurs in the absence of the conjunction and can be thus a somewhat hidden influence when assessing a chart, but once discovered, its influence is usually undeniable.
