When the Sun conjuncts the Moon’s North Node in the Natal Chart
Sun conjunction North Node of the Moon
With your Sun conjunct the Moon’s North Node in your birth chart, you may have been more sensitive than most about your identity, often struggling to understand it and focused on finding yourself. As you mature, you often take the lead and can be a guiding light or notable person. This hasn’t always come easily to you–you’ve worked hard for it.
Distinguishing yourself comes more naturally as you age. You attract favorable circumstances and attention, and you possess a distinctive, unique personality that sets you apart.
Chances are, you were born close to an eclipse, igniting a strong sense of purpose or mission. This purpose drives you to establish yourself in unique ways or roles in life. You can be quite prosperous and personally ambitious. While you can be independent, and sometimes fiercely so, your unique ability to connect with people is truly inimitable. You have the power to bring people together, making you an influential and impactful force in the lives of those around you.

The Conjunction Aspect
Planets and points that form a conjunction are energies that are united. They are blended; therefore, they act together. The closer they are to conjunction, the more subjective these combined energies are. These planetary energies don’t stand alone, and they have a difficult time truly acknowledging each other as distinct or separate.
A conjunction is zero degrees. In other words, if two planets or bodies/points are zero degrees apart (that is, at the same degree and in the same sign), they are said to be conjunct. However, it’s rare that planets and points are precisely zero degrees apart. Astrologers allow an “orb of influence” for an aspect that helps them judge whether these bodies are conjunct. For example, if an astrologer allows an orb of 7 degrees for a conjunction, any planet or point that is up to 7 degrees apart from another planet or point is considered conjunct.
Note that with the Sun and Moon, many astrologers allow a larger or wider orb, such as 10 degrees, for conjunctions.
Note also that with conjunctions of the Sun, we may not easily see the traits of the planet it aligns with, but others readily recognize them. The closer the planet is to the Sun, the likelier this is the case. As such, in this case, North Node-related traits are so second nature to you, that you may hear these descriptors of you, but it takes time for you to absorb them.
The North Node-South Node connection
Because the South Node is directly opposite the North Node, if you have the Sun conjunct the North Node, this also means that you have the Sun opposite the South Node.
Alternate interpretations of the Sun-North Node conjunction in the birth chart:
Sun opposite the South Node: “You can be over-protective of those you love and care about the most. You can even be overly protective of yourself. If it’s too hard, you can pass a project on to someone else. This aspect encourages you to break these habits by mid-life. In so doing, you will find you have greater personal freedom and will experience more joy in your daily life.”
Sun conjunct N. Node: “Develop true self confidence and the willingness to put yourself “out there”, to be seen and to shine. Be willing to take on a leading role, to be a hero, to be a protagonist in your own story by cultivating the courageous, active, and positive masculine qualities you possess. Doing creative work that you are proud of – anything that comes from your heart and bears the stamp of your individuality – is important. Also, being a mentor, a helpful, encouraging force in the life of someone less experienced than you are is a way for you to grow and become more whole yourself.”
— Interpretation from the Merlin report.
“This configuration creates conditions which can limit your leadership and power potential. You are not swept along by events, and there lies your opportunity to turn the aspect to your benefit. Apparent set-backs are from former karma when you pursued your selfish desires above all other considerations. Now is the opportunity for balance, and to use the laws of cause and effect to clean up your act.”
