As you can see, there is very little in the way of outer planet challenges this year for Taurus. In fact, the Jupiter challenge is an opposition, which is not as difficult as a square.

 

Overview: Harmony and Challenge of Outer Planets:

You have incredible support from Neptune, Pluto, and Chiron again this year, Taurus. These long-term influences have been on your side for years and will continue to support your efforts for years to come. 2017 is no exception! Tauruses are more imaginative and spiritual than usual under these influences.

Taurus is a sign that is typically more interested in practical realities than intensive self-analysis, but these planetary influences suggest a greater interest in understanding the spiritual forces active in your life.

Saturn forms an awkward angle to your sign until December 19th. This can be a nagging background influence — from time to time, you feel the need to make adjustments, particularly in your intimate relationships.

Uranus is in a side-by-side sign with yours until it enters Taurus in 2018. You’re rarely comfortable making radical changes in your life, although you sense that you must detach yourself from some elements of the past in order to thrive in upcoming years. 2017 is an excellent year for intuiting where you may be over-attached — working on these areas can help you tremendously going forward.

Pluto’s support of your sign highlights your strong willpower and your ability to make long-term plans, patiently working towards your goals.

Tauruses naturally have an excellent ability to stick with things and follow through. This trait is most defined in years when Saturn supports you, and this hasn’t happened since Saturn was in Virgo from 2007-2010. It will occur again from December 19, 2017, forward (until 2020).

You have the patience to nurture something into being, and this can relate to a project, business, garden, or relationship. This trait is highlighted with Neptune, Pluto, and Chiron in your corner in 2017.

Pluto is assisting you in opening your mind to new ideas and broadening your horizons. This is not always an easy task, as your work can keep you from exploring as much as you’d like, particularly until August. Travel and higher education can be stronger and growing drives in 2017.

You can experience some yearnings for a kindred soul in your life.

One of the most rewarding influences of the year assists you in finding a nice balance between innovation and tradition. This happens in your spiritual and emotional worlds. While you can be feeling some sense of lack or limit in your intimate life, you are able to find steady outlets for self-expression elsewhere, and this takes some of the pressure off relationships. There may be also some financial relief.

This is a powerful year for spiffing up your work, daily routines, and health regimens. Go big in these areas, but know your limits!

The modern ruler of your career sector, Uranus, has been spending recent years hidden away in your privacy sector and continues to do so throughout 2017. This generally points to work behind the scenes and less visibility in your career. After Uranus moves into Taurus in 2018-2019, however, changes are very much on the horizon in this respect and regarding career, reputation, and responsibilities. For now, you’re inclined to keep your head down and keep plugging away at what you’re doing. It wouldn’t hurt to begin thinking about possible new beginnings. Your Solar First House: Identity, Personality, Image, Physical Body, Manner

TAURUS and ruler VENUS. With this position, you come across as content, sensual, strong, loyal, and steady. You have a calming and even healing influence on others, and don’t like to be rushed. This trait is emphasized whenever planets transit your sign.

In 2017, the Sun is in your sign and identity sector from April 20-May 20. This is a period of personal power and strength. You are in control of how others see you, making it a great time to assert or present yourself, alter your manner or appearance, and improve your approach to the world around you. Make things work for you — allow yourself to shine!

Mercury is here from March 31-April 19 and then from May 16-June 6. There are two periods because Mercury turns retrograde in your sign on April 9th. Mercury is retrograde from April 9th to May 3rd. This period overlaps with a Venus retrograde period from March 4-April 15th. This can be a time of misunderstandings and slowdowns, no doubt. However, this can also be an important time for looking within and to the past for answers.

Take your time with important decisions and avoid making drastic changes until these retrograde periods are over. Some of the decisions you make in early April are likely to later involve a change of mind or change of heart. The period from May 16-June 6 is excellent for knowing what you want and making easy and quick decisions. You are communicative and you’re understood. Your ideas are well-received.

Venus is in your sign from June 6-July 4. This is a powerful time for personal appeal and magnetism. You are attracting what and who you want. This is a time for presenting yourself more appealingly, and for pampering yourself a little. People love your aura and your style.

Mars is in your sign from March 9-April 20. This is typically a very assertive, active, and enterprising period. However, this time around (in 2017) it comes at a complicated time when Venus is retrograde and Mercury is retrograde in your sign, and people don’t quite understand your intentions. As such, you may be seen as particularly aggressive or even uncouth at this time. Tone things down as much as possible. Mars is handy to have in your corner to increase your drive and energy levels, but without the benefit of other influences smoothing over rough corners, there can be some awkwardness now.

Your Solar Second House: Money, Resources, Natural Talents, Security, Comfort

GEMINI and ruler MERCURY. With this position, you think (and talk) about money, personal possessions, valuables, and comfort matters more than most people. You likely have more than one source of income. You are clever when it comes to business and money-making ideas.

You always do better with money when Mercury is in good shape, such as in your sign and forming harmonious aspects or in a harmonious sign. Look to the bottom of this section for Mercury retrograde periods that should be avoided for brand new initiatives. Mercury retro is just fine for getting back money owed to you, however, and is sometimes beneficial for getting good deals and sales.

In 2017, the Sun is in your money house from May 20-June 20. This is a time of more pride in your income, valuables, and talents. If you need to take charge of your money, ask for a raise, or make a big sale, this is a better period of the year for doing so.

Mercury is here from June 6-21. This is a time for coming up with particularly clever money-making ideas. It’s also a valuable time for analyzing income sources, making a budget, talking to financial advisors or friends who know a lot about finances, and for information coming in that supports your money-making efforts. There can be times when you fret or worry a little too much on these lines, however.

Venus is here from July 4-31. It’s a good time for gifts, purchases, and acknowledgment. People are happier to give you things and help you out. You can be a little indulgent now, however. This sometimes ends up being a period of more money coming in, but going out in equal measure.

Mars is here from April 21-June 4. The drive to make yourself comfortable or accumulate and earn more is persistent. May 12 and 30 are particularly strong for enterprise, courage, and business success.

Mercury in your sign (when it is direct and Venus is also direct) is a good period for money and gifts coming to you, and this occurs from May 16 to June 6.

New initiatives revolving around money and business are best avoided while Mercury is retrograde: December 19, 2016-January 8, 2017; April 9-May 3; August 12-September 5; and December 3-22. These are perfectly good times for building upon work in progress and researching or renewing old projects, but you may want to hold off on brand new launches.

Your Solar Third House: Communications, Studies, Commuting.

CANCER and ruler MOON. You have good emotional rapport with others in conversations, and you have special flair and warmth in your writing or speaking.

The Sun is in your communications sector from June 21-July 22. This is a time for reaching out, presenting ideas, extending warm gestures, visiting, running errands, shopping for devices that help you communicate and commute more effectively, deciding on courses, and exploring different options.

Mercury is here from June 21-July 5. There is a nice overlap with the Sun’s transit here. You are admired for your ideas and intelligence. Your anecdotes, opinions, and input are seen as desirable. People ask you for advice. You learn quickly and easily.

Venus is here from July 31-August 25. You are bringing wonderful warmth and charm to your communications. You benefit from employing diplomacy now. You may be verbalizing your affections very well now, or there can be a focus on loving chats and sweet talk. Some of you will find or enhance love through the phone or chat lines, or with fellow students or in the neighborhood. It’s also a favorable time for relationships with siblings.

Mars is in your communications sector from June 4-July 20. You are ready to take on multiple projects or to push a particular idea or project forward. There can be impatience and brusqueness to watch for. Impatience with communications (speaking or writing too soon or sloppiness) and with movement (which can lead to small accidents, tripping, driving aggressively, etc.) should be managed.

There might also be small and frequent arguments with others, and for some in the areas ruled by the third house, which includes siblings, classmates, on the road, with neighbors, and so forth. The Sun is in your home sector from July 22-August 22. This is a great time for taking charge of your home life, spiffing things up, entertaining in the home, or simply relaxing and enjoying the comforts of your domestic life. There can be times when your pride is great and you want to take the lead – perhaps some will object from time to time. This is a good time for making very long-term plans. Yours is a sign very capable of making plans years in advance and eventually putting them into action successfully, and now is a great time for considering long-term security.

Mercury is in your home sector from July 5-25 and then August 31-September 9. There can be increased activity in the home now. Mars is here from July 20-September 4. This can be a rather aggressive or hectic, impatient time on the home front, although overlap dates with Venus help mitigate this (August 26-September 4). It’s a great time for taking first steps to resolve problems with family and around the home, as long as you’re not too impatient about it. You may feel the reason to defend yourself or family now but watch for a generally defensive manner. Mars square your sign points to some accident-proneness and irritability.

Vesta is here until mid-July, and you can be very dedicated to building the home you long for. This is an excellent period for working on, from, or around the home.

The Sun is in your romance and creativity sector from August 23-September 22. You’re extra proud of your romance, children, and creative projects now, and if something’s out of whack, you’re likely to put a lot of energy into fixing it. You are coming across smoothly and energy levels are generally good. You are likely to find that you get what you want or where you’re going with fewer obstacles, although there can be some issues to deal with until September 5th with Mercury retrograde at the same time. Slow down a little, give people space, and then talk things through from September 10-29. It’s an excellent time for games, recreation, winning in competition or doing particularly well with your communications, studies, and mental pursuits. You get help from lovely Venus for part of this period.

Venus is here from September 20-October 13. Charm galore! This is a fabulous time for attracting who and what you want. You’re in love with love, and you’re beaming. People love being around you, and you love the admiration.

Mars animates this house from September 5-October 21. This is an incredibly exciting time for your love life, and for your personal magnetism. You pursue your heart’s desire now. Part of this time, Venus is in this same house, boosting your appeal even further. Particularly around October 5th, you are in great shape for romantic excitement.

The Sun is here from September 23-October 22. It’s time to get back to business. This is a stellar time for getting back into a satisfying routine or into shape. If you’re already sailing in the areas of daily routines and habits, you’re likely to enjoy these things even more. You take pride in your work, services, job, and health now, and it shows! Watch for getting nitpicky, however. Fretting doesn’t become you!

The Sun is here from October 23-November 21. This is a period for taking special pride in your relationships, for presenting one of your most companionable faces to the world, and for taking charge of your connections and partnerships.

Mercury is in your partnership sector from October 17-November 5. Talk is sweet right now, and you’re going to be doing a lot of it. You are inclined to weigh decisions more carefully, and perhaps enjoy the process, particularly if it’s with someone special. Intelligent or talkative people enter your life now.

Venus is here from November 7-30. Another amazing time for companionability. Friendly, warm, loving, or supportive people are drawn to you now. You’re seeking peace in a partnership.

SAGITTARIUS and ruler JUPITER. You might consider yourself rather lucky when it comes to intimate relationships, money or resources through partnerships, and support from others. You need to watch for overlooking, glossing over, or ignoring financial matters at times, simply because you’d rather not deal with the details.

The Sun is here from November 22-December 20. This is one of the most introspective periods of the year for you. You look before you leap now, preferring to observe and strategize rather than jump into action.

Mercury is in your intimacy sector from November 6-December 31 (retrograde for part of this – from December 3-22). You’re investing a lot into your intimate life. You are inclined to investigate and observe, sometimes overanalyzing others’ motives. However, you may learn important things, and possibly secrets, as your powers of perception are stronger now. Watch for becoming suspicious or for pushing too far for answers.

Venus is here from December 1-24. Pluto continues its lengthy transit through your solar eighth house this year, This transit continues to have the effect of gradually deepening your interest in the hidden, mysterious, or taboo side of life, as well as your own deeper nature, primal urges, and desire for control. Attitudes towards dependencies on others, finances, and intimacy continue to transform this year.
